They throw a lot at you but Professor Hilton explained things very well and made what could have been a very hard class much easier. Willing to help if you don't understand something, very helpful. She's also very good at explaining things in a way that makes sense to people who don't have previous experience with statistics.
Sister Hilton is the best. Very organized class and not to hard if you make sure you understand the material! You have homework quizzes every week which are nice and quick. She gives you the BEST study guides and tips for the tests. I recommend taking it from her, you won't regret it!
Professor Hilton is an amazing professor. Math is not my strong point and I usually struggle when taking a Math class. I took this class online and feel as though I was successful throughout the semester. Professor Hilton makes it a point to make sure you understand the materials and if you don't she is willing to set up conferences to help!
Best math teacher i've ever had. I normally dont do well with math, but she does an amazing job explaining things. I had to miss two class periods, and she spent extra time making sure I understood the material and moved deadlines for me. I would 100% recommend any class from her. She is passionate, so its a lot more fun.
I'm not a math person, but sister hilton helped me survive through it. Our class size was small, and I loved it! Even though the class was three hours she kept it interesting! She is passionate about her field! I definitely recommend taking Stats from her!
She is amazing! Extra credit for attending class and evaluation at the end of the semester. Tests are the same for all Stat121 sections, but she teaches well and is a lot of fun and always willing to answer questions. Her skeleton notes are a life saver!
She is a really good Statistics teacher! There is just a lot of information to learn in this course, and the last half of the course moves pretty fast. Lots of terminology. I spent a lot of time with the Stats tutor. The tests can be tricky; wording is SUPER important. Quizzes every Mon. Wed. Fri. Not hard, but its easy to forget about them.
I really enjoyed the class. Sister Hilton got to know my name and got to know me personally. That was nice. She knew all of our names and our difficulties and could help each of us.
Statistics is hard. Especially when you only go to class once a week. We have to cover 3x as much as the provo peeps and we take the same exact tests. She is a good teacher. She teaches FAST- she asks for questions but i usually am just trying to catch up to what I have questions about... My best advice is to go to the TA and get help from them. :)
(Salt Lake Center) I felt like class was overall pretty easy- I'm a senior and didn't really care much about my grade and didn't study too much, and still did ok. She gives some extra credit and is overall great- personable, willing to help, and she learned my name even though it was a larger class and I didn't participate much. Thumbs up.
So here's the deal, Stats121 is an incredibly boring class, period. Tiffany was awesome at making it easy to understand. I would study for the tests with a powerpoint she made to help us study and the department practice test and get an A on every test. She's very supportive and I would definitely recommend her.
Sister Hilton is great! She is there for you to help you in any way she can. She would always respond to my emails within minutes. STAT 121 is not easy, is a department class so the slides, homework, and tests were all made by the department which made the class tough. She makes her own slides to review for the test which is very helpful.
Very helpful and cares about her students! Also very approachable.
I love Tiffany Hilton! She is super nice, funny and clearly knows her stuff. I really enjoyed this class, which met once a week for 3 hours at the Salt Lake Center. I definitely recommend her!
Great teacher. Only have to go to class to take iclicker quizzes but if you do it then you get full credit. She is willing to help and explains very clearly. Do the quizzes and may attention and you will be just fine.
I wasnt quite sure on a few fundamentals
Take Stats 121 at the BYU Salt Lake Center!! She is a fair professor and makes sure you are prepared for exams. Stats is not the easiest course, but Professor Hilton makes it easy to understand if you come to class and listen well.
Stats is a tough subject, but Sister Hilton makes it easier to understand. The tests are tough but you are well prepared. She's in your corner and tries to help out as much as possible.
Professor Hilton is awesome! Take this class from her. You won't regret it. She is caring, wants her students to succeed, and makes the subject interesting and easy to understand. I had been dreading taking Stats for forever but now I really like it. It is totally worth the drive to Salt Lake. The small class sizes there are really helpful too.
Prof. Hilton is a nice teacher but she just reads from the power point lecture notes. No practice in class. For exam reviews, she reads the study guide line for line.
It's a tough subject but she does a good job explaining the material.
Very good class if you have a hard time self teaching. She explains only the stuff that matters and explains it well. However, if you miss a class (Especially if taking it once a week), its really hard to catch up. It all builds on each other so you do not want to miss class.
Professor Hilton is my FAVORITE teacher!! I can't say enough! I was super nervous taking this course, because I knew Stats was hard. But professor Hilton made this class a breeze! She explains things so simply and clearly that a grade school student could understand!! If you go to class, and work for it, you can get a good grade.
She is incredible! You need to attend class so you can get the notes and understand the concepts, but you seriously will be able to really grasp the concept of Stats! I haven't done Math since my Junior year of High School, and I took this class from Professor Hilton and got an A! She really helps you understand the material more so than others.
I took a stats class online the previous semester. I didn't do well because I just didn't get the material. Taking it from her was well worth the extra time! She was incredible and really helped me better understand the concepts from this course.
She is well organized and is clear in her communications. She makes sure you know and understand what you need to do to be successful. Her lectures are interactive and entertaining. She knows her stuff and helps you learn what she knows. She cares about you and expects you to care about you. Attendance is a big deal as it should be. Great Teacher!
She is a great teacher, definitely recommend her! She goes the extra mile for her students and has many ways of explaining things so that many people with different learning styles understand it. She genuinely wants you to succeed and does a lot to make sure you do. And she's very organized.
Mrs. Hilton is a great teacher. It's nice to take her class at the Salt Lake Center because you have the chance to actually ask questions if you don't understand the topic. Just make sure you don't miss the quizzes. They're easy, but I forgot to take a bunch of them so my grade is lower than it could've been.
I loved this class. Ms. Hilton was available to answer questions, and she did a thorough test preparation review. I had to keep up on the reading and pay attention in class to earn an "A."
Tiffany is an incredible teacher. She explains things very clearly and prepares you well for the exams. Tests are pretty straight forward as long as you put in adequate work. No reading or textbook purchase necessary, but helpful. Class can be boring at times, but Tiffany keeps you engaged and actively learning.
She's a wonderful instructor. I took this at the Salt Lake Center and it was perfect. She uses a textbook but you don't need it. While you don't have to come to class to pass, she gives out notes that are good for studying and there is extra credit for coming to class (%2 if you don't miss one day, if you miss it goes down).
So glad I took this class at the BYU SLC Center with Tiffany Hilton. She is willing to help students individually and provides students with great lecture notes.
STATS 121 is hard no matter who you take it from--they all use the same lectures and powerpoint slides. Tiffany makes special sheets for her SLC students which are amazing. She is so willing to help anytime (lots of open office hours) and immediately responded to my emails. If you're doing 121, take from her, although a 3 hr lecture was real rough.
HILTON IS ABSOLUTELY THEE BEST TEACHER FROM BYU!!! If you want an A in Stats 121 take it from her. It's worth the trip to SLC. She's the ONLY teacher at BYU that has fill-in-notes for every class lecture, and gives AMAZING TEST REVIEWS! She wants all of her students to get A's. Don't need TEXTBOOK or Stats Lecture Notes, she teaches that good.
Hilton really wants you to succeed. The format of her class is amazing, she provides the best notes, as well as a ton of review material to prepare you for tests. She is funny and awesome and the BEST teacher I've ever had. She also makes sure to keep us all engaged during class by doing interactive quizzes. Take her class!!!!!!!
Hilton is a very caring teacher. She wants EVERYONE to get an A. She makes concepts easy to understand with Stat121. She's a must to take for Stats121. Take it from her! It'll be the best decision you've ever made. Make sure to set aside time for after class, and get all of your (3x) quizzes done with her, she'll check them all so you get 100%! :)
Tiffany Hilton is easily the best teacher I have had at BYU! It is well worth the drive to Salt Lake to take Stats 121 from her! She prepares notes for every class that have everything that your need to do well on the tests. She is always more than willing to give extra help when needed. I would recommend her hands down!
Hands down best teacher I have ever had at BYU. I wish every one of my classes were formatted this same way. She gives guided notes you fill in the blanks while she teaches. She is super clear on her examples. She does kahoot questions in class so you can make sure you understand. And she gives feedback on every in-class quiz. She is AMAZING.
Tiffany Hilton is such an incredible teacher. If I ever had any questions she would respond to my emails almost instantly. She explains everything very clearly and gives guided notes that made all the difference for me. She knew everyone in my classes named and truly cared about helping us do our best. EXCEPTIONAL LADY AND TEACHER!
Math is a hard subject for me, but the way Tiffany teaches is so organized that I didn't have too rough of a time. She has special lecture notes, has flashcards you make in class, and emails back fast. She teaches in a way that is clear and understandable and is always making sure her students are on the same page. Tiffany is my hero.
Stats is a harder class but she makes it easier. But she is the best professor ever. She cares and gives you notes to fill out which show you exactly what you need to know and nothing extra. She gives you review slides which are similar to all the tests. There are quizzes on each chapter but they are simple. 3 exams and a final. 2 writing assign.
Sister Hilton is great. I wouldn't take Stats from ANYONE else. Totally worth the trip to SL (I love riding the train). Her study guides are life savers and I loved stats because of her.
Fantastic class in Salt Lake in which learning through powerpoints is done outside of class and class is used to go over examples and reinforce learning. Tiffany is amazing and loves to help. Stats121 classes are standardized, so you will be taking the same tests as other students on campus. Use all the resources she provides to study for the tests
Prof Hilton is AMAZING! She makes statistics actually pretty easy. She gives us study guides which have all you need for the tests. It's totally worth going to SLC. She gives us time in class to work in groups and complete quizzzes and she gives us a generous break in the middle of the 2 and 1/2 hour class. It's super chill & campus is beautiful!
All I can say is, take this class from Professor Hilton. She knows how to teach in a way that makes statistics understandable and even interesting. It's totally worth the drive up to SLC to take it from her.
Sister Hilton is an amazing teacher! She organizes the class in a way that makes it very easy to handle everything. She also lets you work on homework in class with those around you. (She goes around helping too.) The tests aren't too bad. She gives a VERY useful study guide to prepare you. You'll do well if you show up to class and try.j
Great teacher, she really wants her students to do well in the class. Gave us time to work on quizzes in class and was very organized. Definitely worth driving up to Salt Lake for!
Sister Hilton is awesome, she is always willing to answer questions and goes out of her way to make sure you make sure you understand the material. Though it is in Salt Lake, it was easy to do the homework on the front runner which made it easier. Take it from her, you will be doing yourself a favor.
Tiffany was a LIFESAVER in this class. She was always available to answer questions and made the class very engaging. Would definitely recommend the Salt Lake Center and Seriously recommend Tiffany! She made Stats as easy as it could have been.
She is a really good teacher, she teaches really well. She wants you to learn and when you do not have a right answer, she makes sure you understand why. She is a really good teacher!! Take it from her.
She does a flipped class at the SLC center. We fill out lessons on a SG the week before and then review and familiarize more of what we learned in our SG in class. She encourages group work and is very personable and willing to help. Shell come early and stay late after class if you have any questions. 10/10 recommend taking her.
Sister Hilton really is a great teacher. She makes the course very organized and easy to navigate. Going to class isn't necessarily mandatory but for me I needed to go in order to understand the material. Study guides are very helpful and thorough. She allows groups to do the quizzes which helps. Wants her students to get good grades.
Stats is rough!!!!! But Professor Hilton is an amazing teacher she is always willing to help you and she explains things really well. Had it not been for her help I would have undoubtedly failed this class she is amazing.
Just take it from her. It is a no brainer that she teaches Stats the best. The way she explains and teaches made me not only want to consider Stats as a major but also took away the burden and fear. I definitely enjoyed the classes. She is super helpful in preparing for with exams and quizzes.
As an older student returning to school, this required class was extremely difficult for me. Sister Hilton was patient, accessible, willing to help me succeed, and explained concepts in a way I could understand. Her 'flipped class' worked well, to introduce content, which helped me learn easier in class. I hated stats but I loved Sister Hilton.
Professor Hilton is the best professor I have had at BYU! She is amazing at teaching Stat.! Definitely worth it to take this course from her at BYU's SLC. She hands out guided notes for her lectures, takes time to learn your name, is great at answering questions in person and quickly through email, and prepares you very well for the tests.
Tiffany is a great professor and she wants everyone to succeed. There are a lot of assignments but many of them are done during class with her so youll always get 100% on them. I felt very prepared for the tests with all the in class notes.
I loved this class especially from Tiffany. I didn't think I would like stats at all but I ended up loving it. The way she teaches makes the class so much easier to understand. It has the same amount of work as any other stats 121 class but the way Tiffany taught and organized it was super helpful.
Prof. Hilton taught this course with Prof. Lynne Nielson. Together they were very caring professors and really helpful. Unfortunately for me, I failed this class but that's simply because I can't math. It was no reflection on the teachers. Prof. Hilton is a really wonderful Professor. I recommend her because she works hard to help you succeed.
I took the on-demand version of this class, so I didn't have too much interaction with Sister Hilton. However, I did go to office hours and watch her lectures and review videos. She is really great and explains concepts very well. Her review videos for the exams were honestly lifesavers. Take stats from her if you can!
This was an online course with an in person lab once a week. Honestly, the textbook for this class was awesome and the homework consists of a practice quiz and then a credit quiz which are both super helpful. The class is set up in a clear way and there are tons of resources to help you succeed. There is tons of extra credit too.
Although I did appreciate her excess of extra credit, I did not love Professor Hilton. She was nice; however, when she made errors on credit quizzes she was unwilling to fix her mistakes. The class was all prerecorded lectures, so it was easy to go back and revisit things. The tests were pretty hard but nothing crazy. Use the office hours and TA's!
The class was very organized and clear. I didn't like that you had to go to Professor Hilton during her few office hours to see what you missed on a test. I would rather see what I missed on my own time. Maybe her class would have been better in person.
Tiffany is a great professor who wants you to succeed. The class is not an "easy A," but is definitely a class you can get an A in if you put in some time and effort. I would recommend this class to anyone needing to get a STAT class done.
Prof. Hilton is amazing! I took AP Stats in high school so this course was a review from years prior, and her lecture videos were very well done to help explain harder concepts. She runs her online class in a flipped classroom style and it worked really well for me. She is very accessible and wants to do what she can to help you out!
A great online class. It was super well organized and easy to follow at my own pace. I would do the homework each week and watch the recorded lectures and the tests were very manageable. She also gives out a fair amount of extra credit.
If you are doing Stat121 do it with Professor Hilton online. It is the clearest and best environment to learn this material. Don't buy the textbook, not worth it at all. Honestly can't express how amazing this class was for learning stats.
Took this class fully online and it was well-organized with lectures, a corresponding study guide, and open-note credit quizzes for each class. Professor Hilton and her TAs are accessible outside of class and really want to help you succeed. Extra credit is offered frequently and tests honestly aren't bad as long as you look at the review material.
Yeah, I didn't care for this class and found some of the concepts hard to grasp, but Prof. Hilton made the workload manageable and pretty clear to understand. If you do the homework and the extra credit you can at least get a B or higher.
She gives lots of extra credit opportunities and is so so sweet. She will meet with you outside of class if needed even though it was an online class. I felt like I always knew what I was going to be quizzed and tested on and she had practices quizzez and tests. I wouldn't buy the text book if you do online becuase the videos were sufficient.
Tiffany is wonderful! The class is set up nicely so that you're working on your study guide as you study throughout the semester. She even uses specific boxes on your testing guide so you know what will be on the tests. She's super willing to help, explains concepts well, and is a great teacher all around. The class was easy to understand.
This class is all online. She is extremely patient and either her or her TAs were always available for me. I felt like there weren't any surprises during the semester and the course outline was easy to follow.
The class is very structured and she explains everything super well. Most of my friends wish they would have taken stats online with her. You do about 2-3 chapters a week, which includes a 20-30 min video and quiz for each chapter. She makes a review video for the tests and provides a practice test. Also go to a learning lab 1x a week for xtra cred
Dr. Hilton was one of my favorite teachers. Stats isn't always a loved subject, but she makes it fun and really helps you admire stats. Dr. Hilton is easy to get a hold of and always willing to help you. She's honestly like a mom- kind, willing to help, and always there for you! I would recommend her to anyone, she is super amazing!
She is the most amazing Stats professor ever! You usually hear awful things about the dry lectures on statistics and how hard it is. Professor Hilton really explains the material well and sets you up for success. If you put in the time to understand the concepts, you will do just fine.
Tiffany was amazing! I got to work at my own pace, which I loved. Her lectures are short, clear, and taught me everything so well. I would recommend watching them sped up. As long as you pay attention and study a little, you will do great on the tests. Don't procrastinate! I am so glad I took stats from Tiffany.
Very well structured course, homework, and quizzes are short but help you learn the material well. I did not like the way tests were written however, they seemed more focused on memorizing her wording and phrases than about applying statistics.
This is a tough class but take it from Hilton! I put in a lot of hours but getting an A is totally achievable! All the resources you need are available to succeed. There are weekly labs and open labs and office hours open every day to help you. Reading the textbook, memorizing the study guides, and doing all the practice work is what got me an A+!
If you are nervous to take stats, I highly recommend taking Tiffany's online class. The video lectures are clear and super helpful, there isn't a ton of work, and the tests are fairly easy (if you study). I thought for sure I would fail stats and I passed with a B+ thanks to this class. However, I found the open/active labs to be kind of pointless.
Tiffany is the best Professor Ive ever taken at BYU. She made something confusing like statistics to something I could easily understand. Her video lessons are on point and are the highlight of this class. The TAs were whatever but visiting with Tiffany was always so helpful. You dont need the textbook but be sure to fill out the study guide.
This class is difficult, but Professor Hilton makes it so much better. She offers lots of extra credit and makes review videos to help you on tests. She explains stuff so clearly, and it is easy to understand. You have to put in a lot of work to get a good grade, but that is just how stats is. I would definitely suggest taking this class from her.
I love Tiffany so much! She is so understanding and easy to reach when you have questions. Her lectures and exam-prep materials were so helpful, she offered so much extra credit, and the structure of the course was super easy to follow. I seriously only have great things to say about Tiffany. If you take STAT 121, it needs to be from her.
Professor Hilton is truly the best professor I have ever had at BYU. I held this class off until the last bit of school because I had a lot of apprehensions but Professor Hilton has such a gift for explaining tough concepts. I would recommend this class to ANYONE, whether they are excellent at STATS or struggle. Make sure to watch the lectures!
Tiffany is one of the best professors ive had!! She makes a subject matter that can seem intimidating incredibly understandable and enjoyable. She really wants her students to succeed and gives lots of opportunities for extra credit and one-on-one help with TAs. Her lectures are so clear, and she makes stats fun!
Professor Hilton is super organized. I knew exactly what was expected each week. She sends out an announcement each week listing everything we need to do and when it is due. Her lectures are straightforward and easy to follow, which is a godsend for something as complicated as stats. Highly recommend
Professor Hilton was grade but this class was pretty difficult. She made the assignment schedule very clear and gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. There were 4 exams though, which I thought was unnecessary, so be aware of that. Super great professor but I'm just really bad at statistics so I didn't enjoy it that much.
You might ask why I consider Tiffany inspirational? The concepts could've been much more difficult (like some other GE's at BYU), but she did an outstanding job teaching every single thing you would be quizzed on or tested on. No doubt in my mind that she is one of the most respected professors at BYU. Take from her!
This class requires consistent work, but it's pretty straightforward. 3-4 assignments/week, 3 midterms, and a final. Took it on demand, but never felt unprepared for any of the assignments. She did a very good job explaining and building on previous topics. Took this class as a prereq for my major, yet felt like the material wasn't too challenging
Prof. Hilton was fantastic as an online teacher. I'm not a math person, but this class felt so doable thanks to her video lectures and Canvas setup. Tests were harder than the review tests, but it still wasn't too bad. Only complaint is that she talks sooo slow, but I fixed that by watching her videos at double speed. Highly recommend for Stats!
I would recommend Professor Hilton to ANYONE. She makes the course simple to follow and provides so many opportunities for help outside of the class - TAs are ALWAYS, I was in office hours all of the time! Her exams are very fair and she simplifies the content as much as possible. I felt like I was learning but not overwhelmed
Tiff is so cute. Her smile in every lecture made my day. Loved the class. I hate math and i took stats in high school but she made it bearable. The only thing I didn't like about the class was that you have due dates every other day instead of Saturday at 11:59 like other online classes.
BEST ONLINE CLASS EVER, the optional textbook was NOT needed, save yourself the 25 bucks, but I have so many other friends that took stats and wish they did it with Tiffany. Im telling you she offers extra credit, awesome labs, TA's have a zoom link open almost the entire day, helpful recordings, better organized than all of my in person classes.
She is the BEST. So good at explaining concepts. If you watch the video lectures and fill out her helpful note sheets, you'll do well. She is so helpful to meet with over Zoom, my classmate went over his previous test with her and she gave him points back because he demonstrated that he understood the concepts he missed points on. She really cares.
This is the best online class ever. Is it hard? yes. but so is any stats class. Highly recommend this class online, you can complete the work on your own time as long as its before the due date. The TA's and Tiffany are EXTREMELY accessible its very nice. I got a B but just cause I'm not great at math. an A is completely achievable in this class.
Took it as an online class. It was pretty easy; just watch the lecture, take the credit quiz, and take the exams. Easy A. She definitely provides plenty of help resources so if you do run into issues there is help. If you do have an issue she is quick to respond and wants to help.
Professor Hilton is amazing. If you want to do good in her class and are willing to put in the effort you will. She provides SO many recourses outside of the lessons to learn better. Just put in the work and take advantage of the resources she provides and you'll do great.
I have never been good in math classes, but Tiffany made my experience so easy! The practice and credit quizzes are designed so expertly to help prepare us for the exam. She runs so many practice questions to allow us to practice doing the questions on the exams on our own. Her lectures are spiritually focused and compact with content.
Despite my grade, Dr. Hilton is a great. Great prerecorded lectures. Explains things well. Makes it easy to succeed and is accessible outside of class. Wish I had taken more time to study and master the material. For the first time in my academic career, I feel I earned the grade I deserved, and I should have done better (which was VERY possible).
This class is very well organized. She is a great teacher and responds to emails very quickly and respectfully. She is very helpful! You don't get to see what you got wrong on the test unless you go to the labs which I didn't love, but would strongly recommend.
Be ready for multiple quizzes almost every day. I have had some issues with the TA and unfair grading, just watch your grade for that. I did not enjoy the time and I worked so hard for a poor grade. This class is offered by other professors and I highly recommend taking it from them, this is a level 100 but very hard.
Professor Hilton was amazing! The class online was so well organized and well paced. I was nervous because I'm terrible at math, but Professor Hilton explained everything so well and she and the TAs were super accessible to answer questions. I always felt very prepared for quizzes and tests, and there was also lots of extra credit available.
3 midterms and a final exam that accumulate 70% of your total grade. Stay diligent and keep up with the course material and you'll get an A! Cramming before the tests won't work. Tiffany is helpful and knows what she's talking about. There's a textbook you can get but she never refers to it. You'll be okay with the study guides she provides.
I took stats online with Tiffany and it was a great experience. The lectures were great and there was always someone to ask questions to, whether it be Tiffany or a TA. When an assignment wasn't graded by my TA before an exam, Tiffany went in and graded it herself. Lots of extra credit opportunities and the tests weren't horrible.
If you're taking stats 121 just stop looking. Take it from Tiffany. Lectures are extremely clear and she is so easy to work with. I bombed the first exam and she pointed out a syllabus section that allows a student to drop a test score and replace it with the average of the other three. She cares about your success!
I took this course through BYU independent study. The course was set up very well! Each lecture was followed by a practice quiz (with unlimited attempts) and a credit quiz. Before each exam, there were practice exams and exam review lectures to ensure you knew each concept. The set up was so efficient, I didn't even take notes throughout the course
I took stats online and it was a great experience. It was not too hard as long as you kept on top of the lessons. There were a lot of ways to get extra help in this class and she made all the topics easy to understand. Great class!
I don't have much to add to the other reviews. Tiffany will make you feel like she cares even though you'll probably only ever see a recording of her. She teaches clearly, has possibly the most organized online class ever created, and will help any student succeed that wants to. If you have to take stats, take it online from her.
By far the best professor I've had at BYU!! Was very caring and wants to see you succeed. Lectures are extremely clear and easy to understand with study guide notes provided. There were lots of opportunities for help through Zoom, weekly TA review sessions, and practice quizzes/ exams. As well as, extra credit points each week and on exams.
This is a very forgiving class. There are extra credit opportunities offered all the time and you have every opportunity to succeed because of it. I did all the extra credit and my grade went nearly a whole letter. The material is challenging enough that you will need time to study before the tests but there are plenty of resources to be prepared.
I hate math. I loved this class. I'd never taken a STATS class before, but I really enjoyed Dr. Hilton's. If you're worried about taking this class, don't be. The material is fairly easy and her notetaking system is great! Quizlet was super helpful. (PS: I took this class through Independent Study)
I took Professor Hilton's Stats 121 class online over the summer and absolutely loved it. She is so good at explaining concepts and she was always encouraging us to talk to her or the TAs if we needed help. She offered plenty of extra credit and had plenty of review material for her exams. Professor Hilton is amazing!
I took Accounting 200 with Professor Larson. If you liked that class. Don't take this. It's the exact opposite. It feels like so much information is being thrown at you all at once and they're just hoping something sticks. I don't feel like the goal is to help students truly learn. Disappointed.
She is a great professor; her lectures were the most helpful thing in this class. Stats was just extremely hard for me, but I promise, she is a great professor. almost everything is open note. Your test questions are similar to quiz questions. She gives you a lot of resources to help you. If you reach out, she always helps.
best online class I've ever taken. I feel like I actually learned in her lectures, and she explained things thoroughly and clearly. 10/10 would recommend
Everything about this class was easy except there is a lot of busy work during the week so sometimes it felt like a lot but it wasn't hard, just time consuming. The exams were clear and the review was accurate. She explains everything super well in her video lectures.
Sister Hilton as a person is great, however I did not enjoy how her class was setup online. Lectures were pretty easy but were always formatted the same. I found it hard to grasp the minute differences between concepts because all the notes looked the same, all we learned to do was plug in numbers to a calculator or table.
Professor Hilton is super nice
I finished with an A but I had to fight for my life. There are so many assignments and test but she is the most caring professor ever. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT! She cares and loves her students. 3 lessons and quizzes a week, 3 midterms, one final. Open lab and times to get a better understanding. Most organized and great online class set up.
Boy do I love this lady. She is so kind and passionate about what she does. She is always offering help and her TAs are really great too. She teaches in a very clear and concise way. She also offers lots of extra credit, so please take advantage of it. If you put in solid effort, you should get a good grade. Also, study in advance for the final.
I struggled big time in this class. Professor Hilton is really nice but when you ask for help it's very "copy, paste" help. Meaning she just tells you to study and to ask TAs which is not really helpful when you are already doing it. Test are so hard and everyone struggles. She does not really take time to explain things just goes through it fast.
Rly good teacher. But.. Ta zoom meeting once a week(they love to yap). Can't see practice exam answers which defeats the purpose of taking one to try and study. Most of all, you won't learn much unless you are specifically a stat major. Most of it is plugging numbers on the r-shiny app and letting it tell you the answer. Oh, and its just boring....
I was not excited at all about stats, but I actually really enjoyed it because of Dr. Hilton. Idk if I would've enjoyed it as much with any other professor. She is so straightforward and teaches clearly and concisely. It's a decent amount of work but she provides you with all the tools to succeed. She is also so kind and is always available to help
Pro Hilton was a great teacher and made everything super clear. I took the online version and you just have to watch some lecture videos then do the homework. The tests and open note and there are 3 total. You have to attend a lab every week which was kinda annoying but helpful. TAs are always available to help over zoom. Great class!!
Tiffany was one of the best professors I've ever had. 3 tries for homework quizzes, 2 tries on tests, open note and open internet tests. Always responded quickly to emails and was super willing to meet with you if you needed extra help. Did everything to help you succeed. Could not recommend her more. If you have to take STAT121 take it with her!
Prof. Hilton's online class is one of the best I've taken. Clear instructions, accessible TAs, two attempts on open book/note exams, and no math required thanks to the university stats app.
She is the best. Got a lot out of the class and was successful due to the immense amount of resources and clear, easy-to-follow lectures.
Pro Hilton is amazing! Her online stats is 100% the best way to take it. 2 midterms, 1 final all open note and you get 2 attempts. She does great at explaining concepts and there are a ton of TAs who can help you understand things. There are many resources to help you succeed. I was worried about this class but it ended up being not bad at all.
Such an awesome and organized class. She gave so many opportunities to ask questions if you needed help and did everything to help you succeed. Super easy online stats course. Watched 2 45 min lectures a week and took 1 quiz where you got 3 tries. 2 tries on tests, can use notes and internet on tests too. I learned so much in this class
Took this class online, was organized very well. Broke her lectures into smaller videos so they didn't drag on forever. Very kind, always willing to help answer questions. TAs are super helpful, study guide is the BEST. If you struggle with stats, take her class; as long as you give effort you can totally pass!
Super organized, very clear teaching. Always looking to improve the course and how she teaches. Very available and willing to work with you. Just a great teacher.
I was nervous at first taking Stats because it's notoriously difficult, but Prof. Hilton really prepares you for exams and teaches the subjects clearly. Online class - attendance is mandatory for a 1x per week lab (there are so many different available times during the week, so I wouldn't worry about it). Definitely take the practice exams!
Tiffany's STAT121 class was well-organized with lots of resources to help you succeed, like the great study guide and helpful TAs. unstuck ai was a game-changer for my prep. Open-note tests made it manageable, just stay engaged and you'll do well.
Tiffany is an icon. She makes this class as easy to understand as she can. She also inspired me by her little spiritual quotes every video, they hit deep sometimes. This class was completely online and easy to navigate and super easy to understand. Plus she is low-key funny and enjoyable to listen to. Save yourself time and take it from Tiff!!!!
This is one of the greatest classes I have ever taken. If you learn well in a Live Remote Delivery setting, this class is for you! She is an excellent teacher and everything is set up for you to succeed! If you put in the 6 hours a week, you will do well. I think every BYU Professor should learn from Professor Hilton how to create an online class.
Usually online classes are difficult, but this one is so easy. Professor Hilton splits her videos up so that they don't feel long and boring. Quizzes are sometimes hard to score well on, but you get 3 attempts each time. The online labs are easy and helpful. I hate online labs, but I actually really liked these ones. The professor is super sweet.
Two homework assignments a week. One learning lab over zoom a week. (you can choose what day) Three tests throughout the semester. Hard concepts to grasp but if you follow her note taking then you'll be okay as you can use that in your tests. All tests are open note and proctored (NO AI or other humans, Or google). I didnt study, just used my notes
This isn't the most engaging class, but it's super easy. Two homework assignments and an online lab each week. You get three tries on homework assignments and two attempts on exams. Exams are open note, and as long as you take good notes you should be fine. I only put in 4 hours a week into this class and I still got an A.
Professor Hilton was an amazing professor if you want to complete the languages of learning credit, online, with a pretty easy A. She lets you use notes on tests and if you do the homeworks everything is pretty straightforward.
Dr. Hilton was great! I took STATS 121 online, and it was really well-organized. I spent maybe three hours a week total on all the lectures and assignments, and the TAs are all super helpful. She also allows for two attempts on all exams including the final, and this class was much easier than I thought it would be, especially after a mission.
This was the easiest class I have taken (although I still feel like I learned a lot). Everything is super well organized and if you want you can work ahead of the schedule which is nice. The textbook is provided online and I never read it while still getting an A. Tests were open-note and easy. Piece of advice: Watch the lectures at 2x speed.
So easy. Just take the class fully online to save time not going to lecture. Every test can be taken twice. I never studied for this class.
AMAZING professor and easiest class I have ever taken at BYU. Two attempts on exams, extra credit opportunities, and a million ways to succeed. Take online if you want to skip lectures. If you've taken higher-level math courses, this class will be a breeze.
Tiffany makes this class super easy. I honestly never spent more than 3 hours on it a week. She breaks down the material really well and I definitely got a beginners taste into stats. It is super easy to get an A+ if you do the work on time, take all the chances given to you (they take highest scores) and know how to navigate your notes!
Professor Hilton is the best! This is by far the easiest and best organized online class I have ever taken. It's hard not to get an A in this class. You get 3 attempts for the unit quizzes and the exams are open note and you get 2 attempts. She gives you fill in notes and walks you through how to do the homework. She's awesome!
An incredible professor! I usually really struggle with math, but I found this class super interesting and manageable. The workload is fair and feels applicable to real life. I think that this class improved my numerical abilities. There is also a lot of supports and helpful resources provided. A genuinely ideal online course.
This class was the best! By far the best way to take STAT121. The amount of work was fair and I never felt like I was doing busy work which I feel is common for an online course. Tests are open note and class material. Would recommend!
I was a little nervous to take this class online, but it was great! Prof. Hilton manages to show she cares even through video. There are guided notes that make working through the weekly material not too bad! You can take everything at your own pace. You have 3 tries on every quiz, 2 tries on every exam and it is all open note! Loved this class!
Dr. Hilton is the actual best professor for stats. I was scared to take a class like this online but she actually made it as smooth of a process as possible for us to be successful. Great explanations, multiple opportunities on tests and quizzes, and she makes a packet to guide your note taking. She is so awesome!
Don't hesitate taking this class. Tiffany is one of the best math professors I have ever had. Her recorded lectures are clear, her class organized to succeed. You will not regret this class. I cannot imagine having to sit through 3 hours a week of this class now that I experienced the online version.
If you need to take stats and don't have a lot of time available, this is the perfect course for you. The note guides are amazing, the midterms and the final are open book, and her video lectures are so good! The TAs she picks are also great, and she responds very quickly to emails.
I would not have passed this class if the test wasn't open note!! I hated doing the homework and the lectures were hecka boring, but it was relatively easy to get an A.
Professor Hilton is the best STAT teacher at BYU. I took her class online. She is kind and good at helping students. Weekly hour long TA lab required. Challenging concepts but she explains them well. Lots of homework. Tests are difficult but open note and she provides lots of resources. Not my favorite class subject and not easy but very doable.
Sister Hilton was great. I took this class over the Sprummer semester (spring/summer) online and it was pretty chill. I did the homework the week of and it probably took me at most 4 hours total to finish everything. You get two chances on all exams and the TAs are great.
Sister Hilton is a great professor. I took this class online over spring/summer semesters. It took me about 3-4 hours max each week to finish the homework and other assignments. The TAs are great and you get 2 chances on all exams and 3 on HW assignments.
Great teacher. Be sure to put in the effort and watch all of her videos. She prepares her material very well!
This was a very well done online class! Prof. Hilton is a great teacher, and was very clear. It was one or two hw assignments a week that would take me maybe an hour, and studying for the exam was made very easy by well done study guides and information. Loved it and would highly recommend.
Professor Hilton is THE BEST! This class is an easy A, not because it's useless, but because she provides tons of resources, practice exams, and study guides you can use in the exam that actually help you learn, not just memorize. She has review videos, multiple exam attempts, and easy extra credit. I hate stats and I would take this class again.
Take this class online from Prof Hilton! Tests are all open note with multiple chances! Lectures are easy to follow along and she starts each lecture with a spiritual thought and quote, which I love.
I seriously cannot say enough great things about Professor Hilton!!! She was the most organized, involved professor I've ever had. She makes learning stats manageable and provides so many resources to help you succeed like guided notes, TA open zoom labs everyday which is great for asking homework questions and so much more. Take this class!!!
