Terrible teacher, never could answer her own math problems right, or for that matter make any math problems that made sense. She was always being corrected by students in the class. Makes a somewhat easy concept harder then needed. She is very very nice though, and i almost feel bad for not likeing her.
Dumbest teacher ever. She rarely gets her own problems right without the class having to help her find what she did wrong. The class itself is hard enough. You don't need her to make it harder for you.
She's one of the worst teachers I have had so far in my college career. She's too ditzy, unintelligent, and can never seem to get her own questions right. If you are not a strong student in mathematics, do not take her as a professor because she will confuse the crap out of you.
I don't know how she became a teacher. She can barely do math problems herself and is always corrected by students. Her study guides were all wrong and you had no way of studying from them. Fortunately I have taken this class in High School so I am doing fine but if this is your first time taking this class choose someone else. I teach better.
Horrible teacher! Barely went to class because she would just confuse me more! Learn from the book. She couldn't control her class a lot of the time. Couldn't solve own problems. Take a different teacher. Got a C for a relatively easy class.
Awful.
MRS PRUNTY IS A JOKE--she shouldn't even be a teacher--she doesn't even know what she's doing--she can barely write a whole sentence without spelling something incredibly wrong let alone finish a math problem..TERRIBLE teacher
Horrible Teacher. She has no clue what she is doing half of the time and the students usually have to correct her. She is extremely boring also. The class itself is pretty much a joke.
She can't teach. She always messed up the problems while teaching and has to be corrected by students. She's just overall a bad teacher.
Not good.
She spelt the word "redo" wrong, she spelt it "redu," then anded an e to make redue, then took the "e" away and she spelt "if" wrong she spelt it "iff" and she messes up problems all the time, she is terrible
I used to like math....before I had Prunty..she's terrible..I think she's a grad assistant or something ...how on earth did she even get through her bachelor's??
I have never struggled in math until I had Tiffany as a teacher. She is not patient and not willing to help you during class. Sometimes she makes you look dumb infront of the class for asking a question. In fact, one day she called my class "special".
Worst teacher I have ever had in my life!!!! I enjoyed math until I took her class...now I absolutely hate it!!!
Probably the worst math teacher I have ever had. She never makes eyecontact with her students and looks at the ceiling and rolls her eyes. Also tends to make a plethora of spelling errors as well as having a problem controlling the volume of her voice. I find this class to be the perfect naptime. The TA is more helpfull than she is.
I wouldn't recommend this teacher to anyone.
She can't teach. The students might as well not be in the room. All she did was talk to the board and make errors. She spelled redo wrong. I got dumber taking her class
class was funny just because she made a lot of mistakes. If you have trouble with math I wouldn't have class with her. If you're decent/good at math then take it because she's so funny when she makes mistakes (which is constantly). Never did the homework, and did fine on the tests. Just pay attention and write down formulas.
Do not take her! She teaches incorrectly for 45 minutes of the class, realizes her mistake in the last five and expects us to make up for it. I never had problems with math until this class. She spells and mispronounces everything wrong and the only value of going to her class is to laugh at her giant sweat stains. Take ANYONE else.
WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD. if you're not very good at math, good luck even passing w/ prunty. she makes tons of mistakes on spelling and on problems. she'll spend a half hour teaching a method and then tell you that you dont need to know how to do it that way. you have to memorize all equations, grades based on labs and tests only.
Fail. Worst teacher ever, have easily passed higher math courses but hers was simply ridiculous and she couldn't explain the simplest concepts. Also, she looked like a slob and didn't know how to speak to students, wasn't friendly at all and seemed to hate everyone.
Not a great professor. Makes many mistakes, and comes off as rude. Knows the materials, has trouble explaing it. Go to the labs and read the book.
I dread coming to this class. She's very hard to listen to, and I feel that the material is very simplistic. I have to take this class for Gen Ed's, so I have to suck it up. I have no problem getting an A in this class only because I have prior knowledge to the material. However, I do notice that she makes tons of mistakes. Math haters, beware!
Hmm where do I start? If you are easily annoyed then this class will not be good for you. She wears a mic in her lectures and still screams. As far as teaching the material, she's not too bad. I suggest doing all of the homework and practice exams she hands out.
She talks pretty loud at times. Other than that she teaches the material well. The final is easier than the rest of the tests during the semester. Labs help your grade alot so go to those. Do the homework to stay on top of things and you should be fine.
Fairly easy class. She does come off as a little condescending. Anyone who took any sort of higher math in H.S. will do fine. Go to class for handouts and do practice tests, the test doesnt deviate from the practice exams. Easy A if effort is shown.
Shes not bad. Im not really a math person but I got an A. Tests are 16 Qs but are taken out of 15. She also gives a pretty generous curve on the final and the material isnt THAT difficult. I stopped doing hw halfway through the semester. Just go over the practice exam the night before each test cus the real test is the pretty much the same thing.
Great teacher ! She takes everything very slow, which is great and lots of examples. Grades are just test and labs, so make it to ALL labs and do hw and practice exams and you'll be good to go! Be sure to visit her office hours with questions she's super and don't be afaird to ask questions in the lecture she's great at answering them.
One of my favorite math teacher i've ever had. She gives us practice tests that are based off our exams. No homework ever required on a daily basis! Explains very thoroughly. If u have a question, she will gladly help out during her office hours. No quizzes either, just tests so study up. People that rate her bad don't show up to class everyday.
She's awful she makes mistakes constantly and she even switched a couple of formula's. Our TA caught it 3 days before the test!
Wears a mic. but insists on talking loudly into it.
You will literally bleed from the ears if you sit in front row because of how loud she is
I loved this class! Even though she sometimes messes up, she's a really good teacher. The tests are easy and she gives out extra credit on each test! Overall great teacher
i really liked her and she was a great teacher and i learned alot from her. definitely go to class everyday- i promise its not too bad. homework assigned to help but not required.. labs everyweek are a given 10 points to boost your grade. tests arent too bad if you go to class, do homework, and DO the practice tests!! they help so much. final=easy
she teaches the class way too fast
I would not wish Ms. Prunty even on my worst enemy. She is an awful teacher and she is rude. She is not helpful at all and the TA was a better teacher then her. Take Fuller, he is the easiest teacher for this course.
Really clear. Had note sheets, practice tests and unit reviews. If you followed along and took notes this class was totally fair and do-able. If you are a student that likes things laid out clearly and directly you will really enjoy her teaching style.
If I have one piece of advice for new students it is to never EVER take this class with this teacher. She cannot spell any word correctly, not can she figure out mathematical equations and her voice screeches so much I have literally left class because of headaches. She is horrible and I have learned nothing, everyone around me is failing. AVOID!
I don't know what anyone is talking about when they say this teacher isn't bad. She is worse than bad. Everyone around me is doing poorly in her class. She constantly makes mistakes and often times the students will correct her by shouting out the CORRECT answer. She flies through sections and screws up everything!!! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!!!!!
She is not as bad as everyone says. The tests have a lot of examples she gave in class, which is nice. I struggled in the beginning but the material gets easier in the end. She does make mistakes though which is a pain. Overall she is not the worst mat121 teacher. Ive heard ther are worse.
AWFUL TEACHER! Do not take Finite Math with Prunty, you will hate it. She makes tons of mistakes during every lecture. She shouldn't even be aloud to teach, students correct her about 5 times per class. Also, DO NOT BUY THE BOOK.
worst, teacher?, ever.
Well, she is an ok teacher, class is fairly easy but she doesn't put anything online. Seriously, that would make the class so much more understandable. Also, the fact that she doesn't always answer questions and just moves on without regarding them is kinda absurd. I don't recommend the class.
I went in to this class thinking that she was going to be a bad teacher. After the class I don't agree at all. She gives out notes and practice problems. If you go to class and redo the problems in the notes and practice problems, you'll find that most of the questions on the test are either exactly the same or very similar to those problems.
I don't understand why Prunty is getting such horrible ratings on here. She is very clear and makes sure you KNOW whats on the exam. Great teacher!
This teacher is not bad. Not sure why she is receiving such negative reviews. Go to lecture, she is very thorough in explaining. Her notes are very helpful and she puts examples from them on the test. Study and you'll be fine.
She's not a bad teacher at all she gives a lot of chances for you to understand the material--Practice Exams, extra practice sheets, notes... I wouldn't recommend her office hours though--she doesn't like to be bothered.
No idea why the ratings are bad. Unfortunately took her class as a retake (took w/someone else 1st time). If you can't do well in her class its your fault, tons of extra credit and her lectures are clear. You get so many printed notes you almost don't need a book. Liberal attendance policy, but worth it to come to class. Easy on the eyes, good voice
good teacher as long as you can keep up with her. She is always willing to help you out and is very knowledgeable. Overall i liked this class, but like i said, at times she can go pretty fast.
I struggle with Math anyway, so she was not the right pick for me - she went so fast and made so many mistakes, I was completely lost. Asked her twice for a list of tutors and she "forgot" to get it for me. ASked her to review my grade since she puts nothing on line to see if I could possibly pass - she said wait til the next test. Avoid her!!
Should have been an easy a, but Prunty makes it a struggle. She does not help her students, but it is understandable since it is a lecture. She makes many mistakes during class and moves at a very fast pace. I would avoid this class if you want an easy A in finite.
The tends to explain things too much at times, but sometimes goes too fast. Exams aren't as hard as previous math classes. She gives you the opportunity to miss one question on exams without penalty. She doesn't give much extra credit. Printed notes and extra practice is always passed out. Don't buy the book!
Dropped the class - provides no feedback, does not respond to emails, doesn't post grades on Bb or any other medium. Ended up taking an internet replacement class and passed with no problem. She is worse than an online class - which should give you an idea of her personality and teaching techniques.
I can't explain in words how awful this class is. I am in it right now and somehow havent missed a class yet. she cant make eye contact with the class so if you raise your hand, she won't be able to see it because she looks at the ceiling. Exam literally every other week and she got problems wrong on our last study guide... save yourself
She's really not that bad. You have to study and try but that's because the class is hard, not because she's a bad teacher. She explains things a lot and it gets a little repetitive but she's just trying to make us remember it. I like her style of teaching. If you struggle with math I would take her. She explains it fairly well.
Tiffany is not a bad teacher. She is not very personable but she knows what she is talking about. She always gives out notes and practice exams, and her tests come straight from these. She gave my class an opportunity to earn over 20 points in extra credit. This class is pretty easy if you attend every lecture and do the practice exams. I got a 98.
Average teacher. Gets a lot of questions wrong in class. If you're like me and can't stand it when someone who has a Masters in the subject still can't understand that we don't plus and minus numbers, we add and subtract them, don't take the class she says it all the time.
She is the best teacher for this class. She gives you all the notes for class and will go into more detail and examples. She gives out homework about once a week and then tests like every two. If you struggle with Math she is a good teacher to take.
terrible class. she does hand out notes to fill out along with you, but doesn't clarify well at all. if you struggle in math i would not take her. so confusing and not helpful at all. must attend class to understand what's going on.
Go to class and follow along with the notes she gives you. If you understand how to do the problems on the review sheet and practice exam your fine. If you put in a little time, very possible A.
I took this class with another teacher and failed, but got a C with Prunty. Her note handouts are helpful, but the class is large so it is hard to get help from her at all times. I'm just gonna say that Finite at ISU is hard, and everyone complains about it. That being said Prunty had a pretty manageable class. Also there was extra credit on exams.
This class was perfect for me. Maybe not for other. I am pretty good at math to begin with so this class was a breeze.I probably skipped 9 lectures and never had a problem with the test. Dont get the book you really dont need it she post extra practice documents on reggie net so book was worthless for me. Easy A if you are decent at math.
She has a bad attitude and looks at the ceiling the whole time so she rarely sees hands and answers questions. I love math but i couldn't stand her at all
She is a Really good teacher for this class. I think she's as easy as its Gone to get because I had jane Cler as a teacher first and she was the worst ever. prunty is not an easy person to get to know but you should try to because she'll really help you.
I'm not sure why Professor Prunty's ratings are so low. The class itself is difficult, but Professor Prunty was very clear with all of her explanations of the material, and made some more difficult material much clearer to me. The key for this class is showing up every day. I would highly recommend her for anyone taking MAT 120.
I dont know how Professor Prunty got a low rating. I like her. I didn't know anything about calc before I took her class. Now I understand. I love her no nonsense teaching style. She is helpful if you go to her office. I can tell she wants her students to understand. If you do all the homework then you can do bad on the final and still pass.
Very specific and knows what she's talking about. Goes a little fast sometimes but how could you not when its 10th grade math... Good at answering questions and is easy to understand during lecture. Notes are very specific to the tests and she goes over what will be on the final from each chapter.
She's a good teacher, she goes fast but covers the material you need to know. Overall pretty easy class, just need to pay attention. I didn't have to do any of the homework to pass.
Prunty is one of the best teachers I've had at ISU. She explains everything fully. If you go to class everyday and listen and take down the notes she writes you'll get an A. There are five tests, 16 questions, one is an extra credit problem. So you can get 107% on each test. Super easy class as long as you go and listen to what she says.
5 tests throughout the class (1 including the final) she does offer 6 points EC on each test (1 question). There are labs and I advise you do attend all of them because those labs points REALLY saved my grade. I was never good at math and Prunty made that known. She goes really fast. BUT, she does put up practice exams which helps a TON. Study!!!!!
I think Prunty was the best math teacher I've ever had. I easily understood the material, but you have to go everyday. Prunty gives you her own homework (and it's optional) so don't even both to buy the book (I never used mine). The tests are kinda difficult but the final is actually like the study guide.
Class was extremely easy to understand. Guided notes are used in lectures. She gives study guides and practice exams for the exams. The study guide has some of the exact questions that she asks on the test. If you study for the tests, you'll be successful. Don't bother buying the book. I never used it.
Prunty is overall a good professor. She is really good at explaining the material just make sure you come to the lectures because they help a lot. If you need help you can always come to her office hours and she'll explain and help you all you want. Don't be surprised if the first couple lectures she seems kinda cold, she's actually nice.
i liked her!
Such a horrible class. She barely explains things and just runs through each section assuming everyone understands all of the things she presented. I missed 2 lectures the whole semester and studied extremely hard for every test and failed every test but one. Do a course equivalent at a community college if you have to take this.
SHE IS MEAN! There are not enough assignments to help your grade. Test are extremely hard. I failed all of them with a D or F. I only got one low C. There are five exams with eight chapters. Try to avoid this class in general and take it at a community college because you will regret taking it here.
Comparing this section to other sections there are not many grades inputted, so you have to work really hard to get a passing grade. The test are super difficult and short, so if you get a couple of questions wrong you're already at a low grade. Study, go to the Math Center, and have study groups. Good Luck, you're gonna need it!
Her class is very hard. The test are challenging; there are not enough grades in the grade book. It is hard to bring your grade up.
I got an F on the first exam but got an A at the end of the day. How? Not by her help. This material is tough especially for those who don't continue taking math in high school. For me I worked so hard for this class than I ever had. I went to her office hours, I went to ALL the labs (points help), and did tutoring at the Visor center. Seek help
Rushes through a lot of the notes. Seems like she doesn't care and just wants to get in and out of the class more than the students. Expects students to immediately understand chapters. Not a whole lot of grades in gradebook. Hard to bring up grade. Exams are very tough. I think if she just communicated better with students, they would do better.
she is terrible she looks at the walls when she talks so she does not have to answer the students quesions there is not enough points in the gradebook so if you do bad on one test you are gonna fail the class rip to you good luck
she is terrible she looks at the walls when she talks so she does not have to answer the students questions there is not enough points in the gradebook so if you do bad on one test you are gonna fail the class rip to you good luck
If you have Prunty, GO TO EVERY LECTURE AND LAB. Also print off the notes and do the optional homework in the book!! If you do these things, you should be able to get a C-B maybe an A if you're smart. If you skip lectures and don't do homework, you'll fall behind very very quick. The labs help your grade a ton and so does the final. Overall 6.5/10
Prunty is honestly hands down the worst professor teaching Math 120
She rushes through her lectures and when the students have questions she doesn't know how to answer them. She also always messes up when doing equations in the notes so it makes it very confusing to follow.
she posts the notes online and then just goes through them so that you learn how to do all the problems, just show up and copy what she writes on the board and you'll be fine
Shes alright. I ended up getting a B in Math 120 and I had to work my butt off. I went to every lecture and struggled. I even had to get tutoring which helped.
She goes through lectures way too fast. Doesn't have enough time to explain things clearly. Not enough things are graded in the class. So if you don't do well on tests, you will most likely end up with a D or an F.
This is defiantly the hardest class I have ever taken. She moves very fast throughout the semester so it is hard to keep up. I went to every lecture and lab possible and still found myself struggling. She only gives one day of review in class and that usually does not cover all topics.
MAT 120 is lecture based, with lab on a given day of the week to practice what you went over in class (graded). Prof Prunty is very easy to work with if something comes up, especially for military students she is fairly chill. Other than lab most of your grade comes from exams during class. She will give you a final exam study guide which is great.
One of the worst professors Ive ever had. Goes through lecture way too fast and seems like she doesnt want to be there. Ignores raised hands and tells us we need to practice more instead of actually helping us. Grade is heavy test based so make sure you try to do well.
I enjoyed having Professor Prunty! A handful of the math lab were extra credit if you showed up and studied. She breaks problems down, and explains why we solved the problem the way we did. She does not post her written-in notes online, so you will have to attend lecture. Material was similar to an AP Statistics class I took in high school.
She's really nice and helps if you have questions. Attendance isn't mandatory but its easy to fall behind if you miss a day
Professor Prunty is a very kind professor who will explain things to you if you dont understand, just raise your hand or go up to her after lecture. Lab is the only thing that attendance is counted for. Doesn't use clickers which is nice. No homework, you just have tests about every 2-3 weeks. Does not teach too fast or too slow. Algebra 2 class.
If you took stats in high school and understood it this class is super easy. Her class is basically just taking notes and practice problems for the chapters and then doing a review sheet with GA for lab. Gives a practice exam and lots of review for the exams. Extra credit opportunity for every exam. Overall grade is just exams and the lab sheets.
I highly recommend having Prunty as a professor for math! I did not buy the book and just studied off of my notes and extra practice worksheets. She does a great job of giving feedback on worksheets and tests. On the worksheets and quizzes, there is always an option for extra credit. She does not post notes online so you'll have to show up to class
Prunty assigns either a page or a review packet each unit, about 10 points each and usually switches between the two. I recommend you do them. it would've made some change in my grade, possibly even saved it. She's the type of professor that just lays out the problem and does it for you. don't skip class, even though she doesn't take attendance.
Great teacher. She understands that this can be a challenging class so she keeps the tests fairly easy (I took a gap semester from taking math and still did well). Extra credit on almost every homework. Breaks down the material very well. Fast-paced class so take good notes but very easy to get a C or higher in.
She is a great teacher. The format of her lectures makes learning easy. She provides so many opportunities to get extra credit. I got 96/90 on most of the exams. I did study a lot. Her lectures are really slow, sometimes I wish she taught faster but for those who struggle with math, you can learn at a fair pace.
I took her for MAT 120 and she was so good that I took her for MAT 121. There is some extra credit and many opportunities to learn and review. Go to lecture, study, practice, and you'll be fine. With extra credit, I got an 100%. She is a good teacher. Anyone that says she isn't is lazy.
I've always been good at math, suddenly I take two math classes from prunty and I fail them both. I took them both again with different professors and got As that time, not because the work was a repeat but because I had actual GOOD TEACHERS the 2nd time around. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASSES
Amazing online math teacher. I hate math and have rarely received higher than a C in a math class but she is amazing.
never take this teacher, she is not very nice and does not understand how to teach. She does not help when you have a question, she did not hold online zoom lectures just 30+ lecture videos on YouTube that did not help and each of them were 30+ minutes long. you can't contact her through email, only through the discussion posts.
This professor does not teach on zoom. I had to view hours of lecture videos on Youtube just to halfway understand the course material. The quizzes never match the study guides and lecture videos. I barely passed this course and do not recommend it unless you absolutely have to.
Please for the love of god do not take her for online. Did every single assignment, did good on every test and then the final came and she gave no points back, was nearly impossible considering their was SO much stuff on it, and even though i got 100% on all homework and an average of 90% on tests I got a C because of the final. Complete joke.
This was the worst class I've ever taken. Professor Prunty piles on an insane amount of notes, the homework doesn't help you prepare for the quizzes, and the final was impossible. If you have her class, run.
Yes there are a lot of notes in her class. But just watch them all and fill out the notes as you go along. She Gives lots of examples and good speaker. The homework was a good way to gauge whether or not I knew what I was doing. I dont really remember the tests that much other than it pretty much looked like the homework for me. Same for the final.
You get sold out to mylabmath where someone else teaches you through videos. Lots of homework and quizzes with 3 exams. She posts guided note videos which help a lot but are very fast paced and for some reason have rainforest noise in the background which leaves you having to go #1 every 10 to 15 minutes. Expect to spend 12 hours a week on course
she ight online
Prunty is a very good teacher. Her lectures are great and somehow manages to make Calculus easy to understand. She is very helpful if you ever reach out to her for questions. My only complain is she is a little heavy with the homework but if you do it, it really does help you understand the course
I honestly did not think she was bad. Having a 200 person math lecture is bad, no matter who you are taking it with. Posts video lectures so no need to go to class and it is just guided notes anyways. make sure to do practice problems/quizzes and you'' pass.
I absolutely loved having this math teacher she is so sweet. I love watching her videos on how to do math. She made me feel so much more confident with math than I've ever felt. I cannot recommend her enough as a wonderful math teacher.
Professor Prunty is a great professor for this course. She does move quickly through lectures, but she posts videos online to watch. Her exams are important, but she drops one and offers a lot of extra credit to help boost your grade. She can come off as condescending, but she does explain the material well overall and wants you to succeed.
I was never great at math in high school, but professor prunty made this class very simple for me. There are a lot of notes but as long as you pay attention, the material is easy to understand. It is very easy to fall behind if you do not take notes. I also would recommend going to her office hours if you are struggling.
She is a great professor and I took her for both 120 & 121. The class was hybrid, with most learning was done on your own. We met to turn in weekly worksheets and take tests. We had worksheets due once or twice a week, that often had extra credit. We had 4 tests, each with two parts: take home & in person. Some tests also include extra credit.
Honestly liked Prunty and how she organized the class. As long as you put in the work you should be fine. A ton of extra credit opportunities so it was easy to keep a high grade. Only downside is the workload: videos to watch + online homework + physical worksheets. It was useful but just a lot so know how to manage and stay on top of things.
With the amount of work she expects you to do outside of class time you can very easily fall behind. To receive a passing grade, expect to do around 8-12 hours of work a week outside of class, to receive an A expect to spend around 15-20 hours a week. Wish we would have more in class lessons to reduce the stress and workload of homework per week.
A lot of homework for this class so beware of that. Probably like a packet or 2 a week and a couple of online assignments. There is a lot of learning that has to be done on your own and takes a lot of time because she doesn't teach. The first half of the class is horrible but the second half you get the idea of whats expected and youll do better.
Tiffany Is a great professor. She helped me out when I had some problems. Lecture heavy but if you missed it or did not pay attention she posts online videos of the lesson and notes. She gives you everything you need to succeed. You will have to spend plenty of time outside class re-watching notes and/or studying. The grade you get is on you!
i LOVED taking mat120 with prunty she is just amazing at teaching more fast paced than what i was used to but it worked perfectly if i had to take another math class i would 100% take it with this professor
She is very clear in her lectures and will make time outside of class to help. There's always extra credit opportunities as well which was nice. One of the best math professors I've ever had.
I had her for 2 math classes and she was definitely a great professor. She offers extra credit points on worksheets and exams which is helpful.
There is a test every 2ish weeks the topics are easy to follow and understand. If you come to class and follow along on the notes and the calculator work it will make your life easier. The test are multiple choice and have a bonus question so you can get over a 100% on a test. There is a worksheet due every week and online homework due every week.
The class is very note heavy but the professor is very good at explaining. There's about 1 homework assignment a week and 5 exams, but she drops the lowest one. As long as you show up, take notes, and do the homework, it's an easy A. I would only take a math class with Tiffany because she explains everything very well.
I started out struggling in this class just because I wasn't studying for the exams enough. I learned to take good notes and show up to the lectures and I did just fine. Tiffany is amazing at explaining things and gives straightforward practice exams to prepare for tests and the final. As long as you do the homework each week you will do good.
With professor Prunty, I recommend taking a bunch of notes, the class is kind of difficult. You have 5 total exams throughout the semester, not including midterms and final. Exams are worth your grade around 40% of your grade, 10% for your homework, and 20% for one quiz. She is very helpful during her office hours, stays extra to help students.
I am horrible at math but had an A this whole class. Go to lectures, fill out her guided notes. Before each exam do the study guide; if you can do every problem on the study guide, you will pass each test. Go to math tutoring club if you need extra help. Homework sometimes dragged on and final was a little challenging but if I can do it so can you.
If you put in a solid effort you should be fine in this class. Warning she goes fast during her lectures. One of the good things about Prunty was that she posted the completed notes online and video lectures in case you need it. To set yourself up for success, do the homework and practice exams. Also it's a big help to go to math tutoring.
MAT120 is not a hard class if you actually try (do homework, use the labs, study outside of class). I'm definitely not a math person but this class was easier than people make it out to be. Prunty is great at explaining and accessible outside of class (even when I told her one day before that I wouldn't be able to take the test).
Gives out homework every week and often goes through her lectures way too fast. It got to the point where I stopped going to the lectures because I wasn't able to catch up. The tests are pretty big and often include stuff that was not taught in class.
I definitely recommend going to class and hearing the lectures. Even though it is not required its helpful. She posts all of her notes and lecture videos which is a HUGE help. She gives out 3 study guides for tests and they match it pretty well. She does go fast during lectures. Do all of your work and study you will get an A. DEFINITELY TAKE HER!!
She's great at explaining during class and provides extra practice for exams. You have mylab hw, take home worksheets, part one of exam take home and second part in person. She provides answers online after we completed the material. She also has videos on the units which is really helpful. Exams are similar to class work, same format.
I really enjoyed the class. She gave us 4 tests, the first half of the test is take home and the second part is in-class. She gives out a decent amount of homework but plenty of time to complete it. Overall if you go to class, do your homework, and put in some effort to study for the tests you will pass the class.
Go to class and learn the material, it's only hard if you don't take the time to learn it.
Best Math professor there is. It is lecture-heavy, but you can still learn a lot from it. The homework is in the Cengage textbook. It is very straightforward with what we learned during the lecture. Professor Prunty also has review sessions before each exam. She is also available out of class. Recommend her if you want a good math professor.
I took MAT 121 and it was my first time ever taking a calculus class. I think she did not explain early subjects well and I was off on the wrong foot for the entire semester. She writes notes extremely fast and is very difficult to keep up with during class. I have heard about the other MAT 121 professors that have supported students more.
She moves quickly in her lectures but provides online videos of every lesson. I found the vids more helpful than the lectures tbh. She's a fine professor & seems equal to the other Mat120 profs. If ur between 2 professors, choose whichever time slot works better for you. Class never meets on Fridays & you're told to watch the video lesson.
This professor made me love math again! She was such a good teacher and helped me understand the content fully. I would highly recommend as well as when preparing for the exams do all the extra handouts as most of the questions on the exams are from those packets. Homework and lab help your grade and the exams are multiple choice.
I have never gotten anything over a C in math but Professor Prunty although she speaks very fast made sure to teach the materials well. She offered extra credit and as long as you study you will do well on tests. Might I note that it is very important to go to class.
This professor does not know to how teach a course or communicate with students. She has extremely difficult tests and does not take enough time to explain different concepts, instead opting for a "practice makes you learn what I should have told you" approach. Her lectures are extremely fast paced and frantic, take this course online instead.
Dr.Prunty was a great professor! She does talk a bit fast, but as long as you show up to class and take notes and use all available resources that are given, you will do great in the class!
She goes over lectures very fast and does not seem to like being stopped for questions during lectures very much. Her tests are long and kinda hard, but if you are good at math it's ight.
Great Professor! Posts online videos for every lecture also.
Lots of online homework, dont miss it or it will mess up your grade. Easy class if you go to class and follow along, if not you can always catch up.
Difficult class, but she was a great professor/ good at explaining the material. As long as you go to class and study, you will pass.
Not much to say. Her lectures are pretty boring. I skipped every class and still got an A. She offers extra credit on the tests, which is definitely a plus.
Over all a good professor! Lectures can be a little boring but all chapter walk throughs are posted to YouTube. She also has a formula sheet for each test which comes in handy.
Overall, my experience was mixed but fair. She moves fast in lectures, so pay attention. The class is manageable if you stay focused. Go to lab (mandatory) and complete all homework assignments - it helps for exams, and they are graded. Tests are reasonable, but you'll need to study.
Offers guided notes you can print off and the follow on the projector. Pretty simple and she was good at teaching. One of the better math teachers I have ever had. Take her for 120
