Dr. T is amazing, she's very passionate about her teaching. And will mold the syllabus around what the students are interested in. She is very chilled, and understanding as long as you email her in advance. Her lectures are very entertaining and funny, you will look forward to going to her class. She tells you in advance about the 'pop quizes'
Very outgoing and cool
Very easy, fun class... Dr. T is awesome. If you just attend every class and listen to the powerpoints you will pass. She gives pop quizzes so make sure you do the reading homework! Be prepared to talk about your opinions.
Dr. T is an amazing Teacher! This class was one of the most interesting and interactive classes I have taken at SSC. It's an easy class, but attendance is critical because she does do 10 pop quizzes but drops some of the lowest ones, and you get extra credit opportunities in class. Final exam is a piece of cake! 2 papers 6 pages each.
-10 short pop quizzes (2 lowest dropped) -lots of extra credit. Literally almost a letter grade. -2 Papers (6 pages) Piece of cake if you look over her awesome power points! -Her lectures are amazing, a lot of mind games and activities that are super entertaining. I actually learned and it was so much fun! taking her next semester. Got a 104%
There is just not enough time or space on here to share all the amazing things about Dr. T! She is truly one of the most inspirational professors I have had. She is extremely fair with her grading and makes learning philosophy a breeze. Her personality blends so well with the class that everyone respects her and seems to prosper! Awesomesauce!
Dr. Traylor is very cool! She loves her job and it shows. The discussions in class are awesome. She's very fair and wants her students to succeed. I took her Humanities women, gender and culture class, it was one of the best classes I have ever taken. I loved her happy spirit . I definitely recommend her classes.
She checks attendance and gives approx. 8 quizzes, but you're not going to do well if you don't show up. There are two formal papers. One 5 pages the other 8. She works with you provided that you need it. After the class, I came away with thorough insight and well prepared for other PHI courses. Rocked an A throughout the course. Must take Prof
The reading is a must do, she quizzes you on it after. She was an awesome teacher, someone you would want to hangout with and did many different activities to make sure you understood the philosophies.
Dr. T was a great teacher, easy grader, and made classes very helpful and interactive. There are a few debates, pop quizzes, and movie days as well. Overall easy way and credit
I enjoyed taking her class. She is fun and thorough in her lectures. As long as you read your assigned pages, prepare for pop quizzes, 1 major paper but she makes it better. She's cute too.
i enjoyed taking her class. she has great lectures and is very helpful if you have any questions. Dr. T has great energy and loves her job. Simply read assigned pages, show up on time for pop quizzes, 1 major paper,1 group presentation (fun, no worries). Plus shes quite the cutie. awesome professor.
She's a great teacher if you're right brained and you like a class that's all about discussion. She's energetic and fun and respects everyone's opinions. I really like how she incorporated videos and activities to help us understand the philosophical theories. I would definitely take another class of hers!
Its a simple class if you show up and read the material. Her lectures are fun and straight to the point. She brings old philosophy theories to today's terminology and will cover everything you need to know and will go over anything you have questions about from the homework. Shes one of the best professors available and her classes fill up fast.
I have never done rate my professor up until this point. But after taking this class I wanted to do everything I could to support this woman. She was great; she genuinely cared for her students and taught the material without bias. I loved coming to class and can't say enough positive things about her. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!
Such an easy class! I actually learned a lot without having to do work. There's little assignments here and there but mostly opinion based. Great discussions and lenient with grading! I would encourage everyone to take her!!
Being an educator myself, I was blown away by Dr. Traylor. She is, by far, the best professor I've ever had the pleasure of taking. She is energetic, engaging and sincerely cares about her students. Everyone in my class enjoyed having her as their professor.
Loved this teacher and class, she's awesome. Would definitely recommend her as well as taking another class of hers in the future.
Dr. T is an amazing professor. I learned a lot with her. She cares and respects her student. Also she is not like most of professors that only shows their irrefutable opinions, instead she encourage independent thinking. I love her and EVERYONE SHOUL TAKE HER!!
I have never had a professor as passionate as Dr. Traylor. She is truly the best! I wouldn't think it twice to take one of her classes again. She is awesome! I love how energetic and enthusiastic she was throughout the whole class. Her Philosophy class was just amazing!
She is a great teacher, I took Women, gender culture with her!!! I recommend this class! I have learned so much from her, that I would love to retake it her class. She also is very fun and entertaining, so the class is definitely not boring. :)
Unbelievable
BEST professor I've ever had! Dr. Traylor is AMAZING. She's funny, awesome, nice and helpful. She is passionate about the material and that makes her class very enjoyable. She makes class fun, even at 8AM. I would recommend her a million times over to anyone.
She is honestly one of the best teachers I have taken at SSC. She cares about her students and what she is talking about, she is willing to help you any way possible. I would take her class again if I could! She is hilarious and her class is fun. She explains the material very well, I wish there were more professors like her!
Her Ethics class CHANGED MY PERSPECTIVE on everything. I look at life so much differently now. She is inspirational, funny, personable, and just impossible not to like but the class IS difficult. You have to work to get a good grade and the reading is kinda hard. Class discussion is fun and overall, you should take the class for sure!
This professor made me feel very welcome and made me feel like my opinions on the topics were heard and respected. She is very passionate about what she teaches and by that, you feel inspired. I would definitely take her again (I actually am next term) because she is so nice and I have learned so much from her.
One of the best teachers at SSC. She genuinely cares about your success . Her class is fun and interesting. No textbook to buy. No tests/quizzes except midterm and final which are easy. One paper (5 pages) and one project, not difficult. Time goes by quickly because you're so engrossed. She expects participation and values your opinion.
She is phenomenal at what she does, learned alot. She is an overall awesome professor.
Awesome Awesome Professor!! Dr. T!
She's a good teacher overall.
very good professor. engaging and inspiring. i took her class when she first came to SSC and it was great. I went on to UCF and realized what a gem she was. Wish i could go back to SSC for Traylor.
Shes amazing, is relatable, and doesn't talk down to you. She makes philosophy fun and easy to understand.
I've never left a class and been so energetic. Professor Traylor is always a ray of sunshine. Her lectures are interesting, she's caring and always available to help if you need it. Class participation means A LOT to her so don't be shy! Easy A.
Dr. Traylor had great lectures and was very unbiased and willing to listen to different view-points and made it a safe place. There were seven pop quizzes, and three debates scheduled, but we only did two, so the schedule can be changed. There also were only two test, which were the midterm and the final exam. The final is optional.
Professory Traylor is a great professor. She makes her class fun and interesting. There is a lot of reading, but quizzes/tests are not hard!
Make sure you show up to class or it will kill your grade. There are only 2 test but many "pop" quizzes but she does give many chances for ec! But def read the readings so you can pass the quizzes. She is a great professor and she makes the class fun! I would def. take her again!
As soon as you enter this class, you can definitely tell that Dr. Traylor is very enthusiastic about what she does. She is friendly, fair, and willing to help if you have questions. I would recommend her.
Dr. T is cool and laid back, however, the class can get a little personal at times. We discussed topics like abortion, immigration, white and male privilege, and welfare. So overall the subjects are pretty touchy which can lead to difference of opinions and arguing back and fourth. READ THE HOMEWORK AND YOU'LL BE FINE!
Dr. T was an excellent professor. Yes, we did dive into a lot of philisophical discussion but nothing got too personal. She was great at keeping things objective, allowing people to make up their own minds about the subject matter. I came in with low expectations but was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely take her again if I could.
Would definitely recommend taking this class. Expectations are clear from the beginning and you can expect to learn in a way that's actually enjoyable! Do your part and you will be fine.
Come to class, participate, and pass. There are not any hair pulling assignments but she wont accept anything late. Easy class just do what she ask she wont ask for much so respect her for that
She was great with class discussions and extra credit, but if you dont read and understand the reading, you wont pass. She is a very tough grader. And participation is a must. But don't get fooled. She has a doctorate, so she expects you to be at her level when knowing the material. And she goes way way way too fast with the lectures
Dr. T, is one of a kind. She is really inspirational and cares about her subject, as well as her students. She is very understanding, I'm taking her again for PHI :)
This professor is AWESOMESAUCE!! like she likes to say. I took her for Summer B Term and ended up not taking the final exam. She gives a lot of extra credit.#BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!
Great teacher. Great class. Class participation is VERY important, which sucks for me because I am shy. Gives extra credit points. Easy class, just do the work and come to class. took her for HUM. NO MAKE UPS!
Great professor she knows her stuff, she made African American humanities so fun, she can be a tough grader but as long as you follow her rubric you'll get an A+, participation matters, she loves when the class talk to her, will be taking her for Philosophy.
Tough grader. Down side: she doesn't care what is going on in your life, she won't help much. She preaches a lot about her great her God is. There is more to Philosophy than listening to someone give a sermon. Up side: she give extra credit.
Everything was alright up till Midterms! I got a great grade but why I gave her a terrible grade was because she gave us 25 minutes for a freakin midterm!! 50 questions in 25 minutes. That's 2 questions (some she wants you to explain your answer), yes 2 questions per minute OR 1 question every 30 seconds. That is a ridiculous standard for anyone!
Pretty straight forward prof. do what she lays out in the syllabus and do well in the class.
Traylor dumbs down philosophy a lot in order to make it easy for young people to understand. The class was very easy and she gives a lot of extra credit. However, she is the most liberal teacher I've ever had and it is just infuriating. Be prepared to talk about "evil" America is and how everything that matters to you is stupid and pointless.
Why are people saying she's a tough grader??? Her class is an easy A if you show up and participate. She's an awesome professor. Very understanding, down to earth and really cares about her students. I took her philosophy and humanities class. Wish she taught more classes!! 10/10 would recommend
BEST PROFESSOR EVER! Tons of extra credit, pop quizzes are easy if you do the reading, there's a midterm (easy w/ light studying), and a final (doesn't need to be taken if you have above 100 in the class). Prof Traylor is amazing, and even though we had different beliefs, I never felt inferior to her or anything like that! Take her for Philosophy!!
I thought I knew how to read until I took this class, the readings are extremely difficult and she gives too much quizzes. I already fulfilled both of my humanities requirements so Im stuck taking this hard elective. I wouldnt recommend her if you have other time consuming clsses.
Took Dr. T for 2 classes(PHI 1 & Ethics) and she is the best. She offers a lot of extra credit to boost your grade. She makes class really fun and engaging. Lots of quizzes, although she is an easy grader. Only 2 exams. No textbook, she has the readings on canvas for you. Would definitely recommend her!
Awesome professor! Definitely recommend this class. It is fun, interesting and really makes you think. Professor Traylor is a fair and balanced professor. She respects everyone's opinions. There's reading quizzes, a midterm exam, a paper and a final exam. Participate in class and do your work and you will succeed.
Professor Traylor is a great professor. Her lectures are really good and she makes philosophy enjoyable. I took her ethical philosophy class and there are 7 pop quizzes but you can drop 2. Because there are a lot of pop quizzes, you have to do the assigned readings. But don't worry bc they aren't long. the quizzes are super easy only 2-3 questions
Such an easy course. It takes an effort to not pass. Homework is always to read a short reading from a philosopher and the next class you may or may not have a short response quiz. Very easy though just make it obvious that you read. There is one group project and one paper at the end of the course. Got a 101.6% in the class...
easy enough class, didn't talk once and got a high B. Just do the reading and participate and you should get an A
I took her online for the summer semester, definitely an easy A. 10 discussion, 10 quizzes( the last one is just a yes or no question for extra credit opportunity), one play, one group project and a final exam. TAKE HEER !!!
Took online got a B. 10 discussions, 10 quizzes, a final, a group project and a play. The only thing that was hard was the play. Really wants to help you to succeed. Highly recommend!
Dr T is AMAZING!!! She is very kind and caring. Down to earth. She does give pop quizzes so you do have to study and read but as long as you study and pay attention EASY A, I promise :)
Take the class. That's all I have to say. The only caveat I would say is read everything. The reading aren't dreadfully long, but you need to read it. You should definitely come to class as that is discussion. (plays a vital role to pass the class). As long as you come to class and read the passage you will pass. (passage is about 1-4 pages)
Online class. Fun professor, not a difficult class. Do your hw/quiz/discussions on time. 3 projects due, 1 group project with other class members. Responds to emails is a timely manner, helpful as well.
She is an AMAZING professor. She is prompt, and very funny. Her lectures are wonderful, she made learning Philosophy easy. There are 3 kind of big projects 1 of them being a group project. All projects were fun. Her quizzes are easy as long as you read the material. There is no need to buy the book she gives you all you need. TAKE HER!
Great professor, makes it a fun class! Took it online, no textbook. 1 group project and 2 papers, reading materials and weekly quizzes; gives enough time to get it done. Would take her again.
Hands down, the best professor ever. She really pushes you to think beyond of what we think we know, makes discussions entertaining and comfortable, and she's really down to earth. Also, gives a ton of extra credit and is fair with grading and deadlines. Would take her again.
I never thought I would have an interest in philosophy until Dr. T's class. The readings can be difficult because they're written in an older style of English, but her lectures help you understand everything because of how well she explains things. The work isn't hard but can be time consuming, but it's definitely worth it! Highly recommend her
I did Dr T. back in spring of 2016 and I must say she is one of my favorite teachers that I have taken her twice. For this class make sure your on time, do your reading, and also do your research paper which is a huge part of your final grade along with the final and midterm exams. Did I say that she also gives out extra credit.
I'm not even a philosophy type of person I just did this class because I really enjoyed Dr. T as a teacher. I really enjoyed how Dr. T taught each different philosophy to the class for us to understand. This class you have readings, pop quizzes, midterm, only one group project, and the final exam . Never would of thought that I would earn another A
Professor Traylor is definitely the chillest professor at SSC! Shes so nice and her class is very interesting and would have you thinking .
I took Dr. T's class as an HONORS course, and I can tell you that this teacher is beyond AWESOMESAUCE! Class contained quizzes, 1 group project, midterm & final exams, a philosophy paper play, & an honors portfolio. She provides the assigned readings, so NO need to buy textbooks! Her grading is super clear and she does offer extra credit! TAKE HER!
Best professor ever, people you have to take her ! you don't need a book she provides the lectures and explain everything very clear. one discussion and one quiz every week very but they are very easy
Dr. T is a really fun professor. There are 7 pop quizzes in total, taken at the start of class, 2 are dropped. So read the material she assigns and show up for lectures. 1 group project, 1 essay/play, 1 midterm and 1 final, plus 1-2 additional low pt. assignments. She offers some EC though it kind of hard to obtain, so just do the work.
Dr. T- she was the best prof. I had at SSC. Her class encourages thought-provocation . She is fairly young and although she's chill af, she exudes this badass vibe, which is cool. HW readings are fairly long but PPT lectures are fun. She lets you have your own ideas and opinions and encourages respectful debating. Participate or you will not pass.
I passed her class w/ an A. She was a decent teacher; however, she was not the best at communicating instructions or responding to emails. She REALLY cares about in-class participation, so if you're not comfortable w/ that, she's not the way to go :/ She's such an easy grader, to the point that I don't think she actually grades haha.
Fairly easy class, and she was a really nice professor who tried to make the class interesting. My only problem is that she would try to push her ideas on the students a little too much, and you almost feel bad if you did not agree with her. I oftentimes felt uncomfortable expressing my views in the weekly discussions.
Participate & read no problem. While the professor was quote-on-quote, chill, it was orchestrated to an ideology of biased politics. It is definitely subtly politically correct; subtly pushing arguments to be anti-gun and mocks the idea of God to the point where the only answers for the possibility of God being good are not possible.
Easy multiple-choice quizzes that is pretty much the class in a nutshell.
Even though it was remote, the lectures were informative. Teacher had slight personal views, but didnt get in way of grading students stuff. I also like how the teacher assigned meaningful assignments and that they were appropriately spaced out with respectable deadlines, allowing the work to be done.
I will say that I took an online course with her and it was incredibly easy to just do the work and she is more than happy to give you an amazing grade. I did run into issues with a lack of communication but all in all, I truly enjoyed the class and it was incredibly easy, again as long as you did the assignments.
Great teacher with great material. No textbook is required. she will provide the reading material. She gives plenty of extra credit and good feedback. The tests are timed really short. Make sure you actually read and understand the material. I didn't feel like she cared what your beliefs were as long as you could back it up with philosophy.
Great class and great professor. Dr. T knows how to keep things interesting and relevant
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Prof Traylor! She is more than awesomesauce and her lectures are very interesting to look over. She doesn't accept late work but she does assign lots of extra credit so make sure to do them.
Professor Traylor was very funny in her lectures, and while the content is hard to understand her lectures make it easy. Usually, all the quizzes and the tests can be Aced if you watch the lectures. The only downside is that she doesn't accept late work whatsoever but she made that clear since the beginning of the course.
Prof Traylor gives lots of extra credit and the online quizzes really work to challenge you being very short but also taking from the lesson.
Really awesome class and professor. If critical thinking is difficult for you and you don't like philosophy, look elsewhere. if you are capable of critical thinking, this class will be a breeze for you! The reading requires actual focus/comprehension but its not very long & the discussions/quizzes are very easy especially w the lectures' help.
Dr.T's class was pretty easy all you had. to do was the weekly discussion and quiz. There was one midterm and one final. She has 3 options for extra credit towards the end of the class. Just do the work and you will get an A.
Professor Taylor was great and very chill when it came to assignments. It's only one assignment a week (paper or discussion), and it's an easy A. You'd honestly have to try to fail her course.
Dr. T was the best teacher I've ever had. Her class was something new everyday and made you think about interesting deep concepts. She explained the concepts in a very simple way to understand and the group assignments we did were fun and didn't feel like it was actual work. Would 1000% take this class again just for fun.
I will be taking her other classes in the future. She explains concepts in a modern and simplified way, plus, her lectures often include jokes and references to culture. Papers consist of both objective and subjective topics, but discussion posts are used a lot in the semester. Overall a really positive professor who is easy to communicate with.
Sure, take it for the easy A, but you stay for the professor + your peers, and you leave with a different way of approaching life. One of the best professors at SSC. She's SO courteous, respectable, and caring. Keeps it non-political. Made some cool friends. Great opportunity to expand your whole way of life. Hecking miss this class :,)
Readings were interesting and lectures both broke down the ideas discussed and moved beyond them with applications to our lives. Discussions were short and interesting and she graded all writing very fairly, mainly assessing whether or not we tried to think critically. Only annoying thing was some quizzes would be like "what example did I use in _"
Amazing teacher and super easy course! There are weekly reflection posts that are only 300~ words and the prompts make it super easy. The course is very interesting and the final reflection post is honestly a lot of fun writing about yourself from a philosophical standpoint.
The class itself is very easy she gives lots of extra credit work. My only complaint is that I signed up for an online class for the flexibility and yet there is none. The teacher has future assignments locked so u can't work ahead if a situation comes up where u know u won't have access to the work. Even my irl classes are more accommodating.
Prof T's class was a breeze. Interesting readings, engaging lectures, and fair grading. Unstuckstudy was a huge help for study prep. Highly recommend taking this class.
I HIGHLY recommend taking this professor for philosophy. This class was essentially one of the most easiest and fun classes that I've ever had. Everything is pretty much straightforward. There's one big project & afterwards near the end it's easy from there on out. If I could take her again I would. If you can, taking this in person is BETTER & FUN
I enjoyed this class. Professor Traylor makes you feel very welcome and always gave me A's even when I thought I didn't give a great response during discussions. As long as you follow directions, you'll be fine. You do not have to buy a textbook, and she provides the readings for you (save up money!) she also gives LOTS of extra credit.
best class of the semester
Lectures were funny, the first half of the class was a little boring but it got better. Easy A if you do the work.
loved her!! there's usually quizzes every week that go with whatever reading was provided. Although it's quite a bit to read, she does do power point lectures as well and those are easier to follow on. shes very funny too :)
The course consisted of reading assignments, discussion posts, quizzes & video lectures & one final exam at the end .The quizzes were simple five questions or less straight from our reading articles. . Professor Traylor was amazing. She brought humor & commentary to our discussions throughout the semester, which made the class much more engaging.
This professor was pretty chill and good for an online class. I took this because I needed to fulfill a credit so thankfully it wasn't crazy hard or being a pain. She's sweet and just make sure you turn work in on time and participate in the discussion boards. easy quizzes
