He is the best! He is always willing to help you out and he makes class really fun. He relates the materials to life.

I always had problems for understanding Math, but he gives very clear examples and also he is willing to teach. Tim is not only a good professor but a great human being. Take his course.

Teaches to all learning styles. Goes slow enough for understandment level, but fast enough to cover material

Tim is a great guy who can relate things back to his students,I met him in 097 and liked his teaching methods so much, I took him for Math 119 since his teaching style was so easy to understand I'd recommend him any day.

Got hit by a car and came to class in bandages. You just can't keep a good man down. He is serious about math, but still has a sense of humor. Artistic level is on par with most teachers at Delta. Usually has to tell you what he just drew on the board.

Mr. Allen was a GREAT teacher. The class was fun and interesting, and it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. That might mean that we learned less than we should have, but it was mostly because of how well Mr. Allen taught. He made it easy to get a good grade.

Math 119 is a hard class. If you take it with Mr. Allen though you'll be sure to understand it. I've never been good when it comes to math... but Mr. Allen worked with the class until everyone understood the concepts. Wonderful teacher! Always encourages everyone to do the best that they can.

Mr. Allen is not only a great teacher, but a great guy to be around. It is amazing how much he knows about MATH, but also everything else. I learned so much in his class. When the semester began, I was not excited. Now that it is over, I miss my class. GREAT TEACHER!

First half of the semester was rather rigorous but assignments to hand in were interesting. Third test was a take home. Final was basically the review test with some minor changes. He doesn't try to bust your chops showing you how much he knows. Assignments are especially representative of test questions. Highly recommended over Redmond.

Good Teacher

He has an amazing style of teaching. I am not a big fan of math, but havi him really helped me understand it. If you have questions he explains very clearly and makes sure you understand it.

Tim is a good guy and enjoys his job. If you have any questions or problems he explains them very good and clear. He doesnt always collect homework, but his quizzes ARE right from the homework (so do it). I have taken him for math 096,097, and am registered with him for 119 in thw winter...i would reccomend him to everyone! ( i already have)

I loved his class...and I freaking hate math. He is direct and to the point but will help you if you dont understand. Not a lot of quizzes or tests either.

So funny and easy to get along with, not just another class to goto and be lectured to - he's involved with the students. I am the WORST at Math and have failed this class twice before, but when I took it with Mr. Allen... I actually understood and PASSED the class. I HIGHLY recommend him, honestly. Very nice, helpful, funny, and just all around great teacher! Rarely quizzes, tests aren't overly hard. He's very helpful!

Tim is a very good teacher, i've had others in the past that weren't so good and didn't care but Tim does care. he takes the time to fully explain what's going on, and even creates acronyms for certain things. most of the class is spent at the board with partners while he checks your work. very thorough. great teacher, I'd recommend him to anyone!

Tim is a very good teacher. He does take the time to help if their are questions. In his math for ele. teachers, he make some simple math errors, but overall a very good teacher. Love to talk to students and I enjoy his stories.

I am the worst at math. Tim made it understandable and gave enough examples so that the homework was easily done. His tests aren't hard if you do the review homework. He likes to interact with students and it helps make the class more enjoyable.

im not a huge fan of statistics, but he made it bearable. he is relaxed and teaches straight to the point, no messing around with stuff we dont need to know. he is very helpful and lets us know exactly what will be on the test. take him if you can!

Wonderful math professor! I have struggled with Algebra but he made it very clear. He will help you understand anything you don't understand. He also allows you to retake tests. He can b very sarcastic but it makes the class a little better. I highly recommend for anybody that is struggling with Algbra!

I am by far the worst person at math. I never understand it in high school and got failings grades on tests. Tim is the best math prof. I've ever had. For once in my life I understand how to do the math that I used to bang my head on the table over. I got A's on all of my tests and you never had to turn the HW in it was just practice. Great class.

secret to my success, I Took all my exams in the testing center and used ALL my notes. I suck at math and would of failed other wise. Tim is a fun,easy going, and laid back guy doesn't take attendance, no home work.

Honestly, the best math teacher I ever had! He explained things so clearly that I understood everything. He lets you have notecards on the tests. He doesn't grade a majority of the homework, but make sure you do it. He let's you ask questions on homework the next day, so take advantage of it. Amazing teacher!

Tim is a great teacher! Stats is a hard class, everything builds off of the previous section. Attendance is not mandatory, you will fall behind if you don't attend. You work for the grade you get, course is based off of 4 exams and a couple homework assignments. Homework for the most part is not mandatory but you won't succeed wo it. Take notes!

Tim Allen is by far the best math instructor I have ever had (high school or college). He goes over numerous examples in each lesson, step-by-step, so you fully grasp the material. He's very willing to help when you're stuck. Yes, there's homework, but it's not that difficult if you pay attention in class. Highly recommended!

I had MTH 208 in Birch Run . I loved the class and I think he is the greatest. I really really like this man. Great instructor and steaming hot.

Took at in the Early College Program, great course and great instructor. lots of examples and lots of work in class. The homework that was assigned reflected what was covered in class.

Tim gives great lectures and makes sure everyone understands the material before moving on with class. He gives you practice test and lets you use a note card for formulas during the exams. He doesn't assign too much homework, just enough to grasp the concepts. Tim is a very funny down to earth guy

I've always struggled in math. Mr. Allen completely changed that. I went from hating math to enjoying it. He is SO helpful and patient. I took him twice, I cried tears of joy when I got a B+ in the first class, and then an A- in the second! I consistently failed math classes throughout my middle school/ high school career. He knows how to teach!

He was late frequently. One time he was 20 mins late. He see's the good in people. He will help you a lot when you ask. Great teacher, would take again.

Took Stats at a local university and was barely getting a C while spending countless hours in the tutoring center. With Professor Allens class, I understand the material after every lecture and even when I do have questions, they are quickly answered when I ask for help. I ENJOY statistics now - a subject I once dreaded.

Tim won't answer your emails, doesn't cancel class, and lectures every class period. But I got a great grade in this course and I have never loved or understood math. Tim is an amazing professor that cares about his students and their success. You get a 3x5 notecard for his tests and is a reasonable grader. I would recommend Tim to anyone.

Professor Allen was a good teacher of statistics. He answered any questions you have. He does give homework and it helps a lot for exams! His practice exams are amazing! basically the same as the real exam. I learned a lot from him and I was really dreading this class, but he made it go easy. This class was incredibly easy for me. I took pre-calc the year before so they may have been why it was so easy. Some people in my class were lost from time to time, but he gave great examples and was super helpful. He's also really chill and reminds me of a surfer dude. Definitely recommend him as a math teacher, he's probably the best Delta has.

Hands down the best math professor you can take at Delta. His notes are very helpful and easy to follow, and he gives out a very helpful study guide before tests as well. Nothing online either, which was great, as math classes can be difficult with the homework online. Very straightforward class, but make sure to show up or you won't succeed.

Tim is a quirky but great professor. He does an awesome job teaching somewhat confusing concepts and is available to answer questions if you have them. He is good at relating the lessons to real life and gives study guides that serve as excellent preparation for his tests.

Professor Allen made learning statistics so much fun! He was able to relate topics to the real world, and his grading was very clear. He also works through problems step by step on the board which is very helpful! The class is lecture heavy, but he makes them fun with personal anecdotes.

Great instructor, the semester was Winter 2020 and he had to go online because of the whole covid show. He made the transition as smooth as possible. Id take him for every class online or in class.

I took him for calc 2 in the spring semester and one thing I noticed is he never made any of his own lecture videos, rather used an online algorithm to teach you. This learning worked for me, but may not work for all.

My 3rd class with him, two this semester being online due to covid. He is easy to reach and helps with what you need. Has youtube video lectures along with some zoom help sessions. One of my favorites, would take again but don't need any other math courses!

I hate math and in most cases don't understand it, however, everything changed when I took STATS with Tim Allen. He's an excellent teacher, makes sure you actually understand what you are learning, and truly wants you to succeed. He also makes the class fun which is something I never thought I'd say about math. I highly recommend taking him!

I only got to chat with Tim a few times, but he seems like a really nice guy. I was warned that statistics was really confusing, but the online program we used actually made it make sense. Probably the easiest online class I've had since covid started.

Tim was great, I definitely would take him again. I took stats as a prerequisite and was really nervous to take it online but it was so worth it. He used a resource that did most of the teaching and the class was pretty straight forward. It was a lot of work but he has lots of resources and you can always ask for help. He wants you to learn.

Attendance isn't "mandatory" but it's helpful to be in class. He does give random quizzes in the beginning but they're only a few points. Easy points. I'm not at all a math person, but this class was easy. The program he uses for the homework is very helpful. Just manage the homework and do a little every day and you'll be fine! Would recommend!!!

Tim Allen was my favorite math prof. at Delta. He uses real life examples to make stats interesting to learn. Most assignments were through Knewton an online assignment service and the software was easy to use. I would take prof. Allen for every Math class I could!

He was my favorite professor in the fall! So funny, and interactive with the class. The class I took was so easy and usually, I'm not the best at math. He's very helpful and wants his students to pass. If you're taking a math course, I definitely recommend him. He does assign a lot of homework but gives you so much time to complete it.

All of the homework was on Knewton Alta, they were due about every other week. I thought statistics was really easy, but I am good at math. He explains things well enough during class that I didn't need to use the textbook (free) for the homework. There were no exams. We did have online tests at the end of each unit (about 6). I really liked him!

Professor Allen provided great lectures and challenged us to practice problems on our own. He also liked to joke around with the class, which made it fun. We had about 4-6 graded assignments per module and had about a month to complete. We had a midterm and final that made up most of our grade, but you'll do fine if you pay attention and study.

He is literally the funniest professor I've had. As long as you do what you are supposed to be doing for his class he's pretty understanding when things come up and you have to turn things in late, but he also wants you to get your stuff done. As long as you communicate with him he works with you!

There were 3 exams and 12ish homework assignments done through Knewton. There is a textbook but you won't need it as Knewton explains everything you do. Tim gives partial credit and is very understanding about homework--he often pushes back deadlines to give us more time. He does not know how to use commas, so his own worksheets (5) get confusing.

Lectures help you understand the material very well. He has amazing guide reviews and is always available to help with homework and any questions regarding the material.

Tim Allen is a knowledgeable and respected professor. Attendance is not mandatory, however, highly suggested as Allen's lectures are full of info. Allen utilizes online coursework via Knewton Alta. Only "homework" was exam study and Knewton Alta module "quizzes". Easily understandable class as long as you follow along and ask questions when needed.
