Great teacher. His jokes really did make me laugh. I never really did enjoy an english class but he turned that around. He really doesn't care if he gives you an A as long as you show effort and desire in wanting to learn and become a better writer.

Quite possibly the best english professor that i have had so far. he is a great teacher. he had the cheesiest jokes i have ever hear of, but his delivery makes them great.

He is such an awesome professor. He grades a little hard, but you will see english in a whole different light when you finish. Plus he has you read pretty interesting books and short stories.

worked my tail off for an A, but it was well worth it. Not only did I learn a lot, but I got to stare into his dreamy eyes every class!

hey, I didn't even do all of the essays (only did 3 out of 4) I skipped many classes, failed a few quizzes and I still got a B. If I actually had tried then I would have gotten an A. Very easy teacher...take this class for an easy grade

Great professor. The best Literature class I have ever had at SMC. Humourous, helpful and nice. Wish I could take him for Eng 2.

Cramer's relatively easy if you're willing to do the work. Had him for Eng. 1 and just took a bunch of quizzes (on short stories-easy), and four essays. He's really not that bad if you go to class and do the work. Good professor overall, and it's up to you to get an A in the class.

He was so very helpful during my first semester at SMC. I got an A in his class after having been speaking English for only 1 year! He is boring a bit... But a very good guy. Loves to talk about Nebraska... :)

Pay attention: Cramer is an amasing Prof, thoughtful choices in reading material. Evolutionary in the aspect that he is willing to challenge your concepts through active dialouge and exposition of literature. don't miss out on the rare opportunity to actually learn.

So Cute!!! Take home essays only - no exams. Very fair, for the most part interesting, very very supportive. Kinda crazy, in a sexy way though. Thinks outside the box - highly recommended.

He was really helpful and always answered my questions right away. Easy B, and possible A...just do all your work and turn it in on time!

I got an easy A, you respond to threads on short stories which is really just intellectual opinion, then no tests but 4 essays in 6 weeks. You do prewriting which is like an outline and peer edit, rough draft, so easy to do good on essays but he doesnt grade the rought drafts. He's cool though.

do the work and you're guaranteed a b. additionally, if you're not occasionally late, you can earn an a. simple essays assigned and a couple of quizzes (gives them at start of class, so don't be late! -offers assignments for makeup quizzes). for some reason he reminds me of stuart from mad tv :o

I recommend this teacher for English 2. He wasn't an easy A and the essays were really challenging. I think he is one of the best teachers, but the reading choices were by far some of the worst stuff I have ever read. I am shocked that out of all the books

This was my first online class and I absolutely loved it. Mr. Cramer explains assignments clearly and the makes sure you understand it, too. He answers questions fast and is very friendly even though this is an online course. I would recommend him to anyone considering taking an Eng 1 class online. He was the best!!!

This man is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. He's got the cutest smile, and super energetic. I've never enjoyed an English class more, and he hops around. Keeps you awake. The readings are mostly short and pretty simple, and there are quizzes, but they're easy. The essays/tests take a little more work. But this guy is one of the best teachers I have ever had.

This was my first online experience and Professor Cramer made this a smooth process. Though he grades a little hard, it helps you in the long run. I would recommend this class to everyone interested in taking an online class for English.

This teacher is very interesting. He makes you come to class and actually pay attention all the time! Allthough he is not easy with grades, you still enjoy his class. The essays require a lot of time and the tests require deep thinking. Quiz every class, but if you do your reading you will be fine. Recommended!

One of the very few teachers who understands how to teach online. He actually reads the work submitted and comments are helpful and focused. You have to do the work, and there is a lot of work, but grading is fair. Highly recommended.

There is no way you will not enjoy being in Prof. Cramer's class. The man is full of fun and energy, a great teacher. Quizzes on the reading (but not on poems) Tests consist of in 3 in class essays-given quotes to respond to and 3 take home essays. 4th essay is based on a book read. Do the work, ask for help and get a great grade!

Huh, he is really good. He is entertaining and always keeps you focus on material. Be prepare to work hard, because he gives you quizzes almost every class plus 3 in class short essays/answering questions and 4 take home essays. Do all you readings and you will be fine. He is hard grader, but fair though. Worth taking.

this teacher rocks. i love this teacher. he is not a hard grader he grades just as every other math teacher. he will keep you interested esspecially in the first portion of the class he is full of energy. Took his Online course for Fall 06, 8 weeks. His class wasn't hard. My problem was I tended to procrastinate and wrote my rough drafts the day before they were due. Didn't stop me from getting an A. Participate in discussions, critique others' papers thoroughly. He gives time after rough drafts to polish up final paper. Easy A, just don't be lazy.

I can't say enough good things about Cramer. He is an amazing individual who truly has a passion for making a difference and touching the lives of his students. Before entering his class, I didn't like to read and had very little interest in english. I now am an English major because of his influence.

Took his English 2 scholars; AMAZING TEACHER. Makes every class fun and interesting. Expect to read at least one short story every night, then come into class to be quizzed on it (easy). Asks questions like "what time of the year does the story take place in" when it is called something like "Summertime". Final is take home, essay format. TAKE him!

I took the online class. He's a really nice guy, but instructions tend to be a little vague and he's not very prompt in responding to student's questions as some other people mentioned. The work isn't hard..but it's an English class so you have to do a lot of writing no matter what,

Good and funny lecturer. He gives you a VERY easy quiz at the beginning of almost every class to make sure you've done the reading. His exams are fairly easy if you went to his lectures and his essay grading is generous. I started writing my essays the day/night before and always got a very good score. Great teacher.

I love this guy! His classes were so much fun, it's impossible to get bored when he is teaching! Mr. Cramer is very passionated about his job and you will definitely learn in his class. Prof Cramer is amazing, his quizzes are easy, you just have to read the short stories, and the test are a piece of cake as long as u take notes, the final take home essay was a bit hard, but and A is definitely possible. Definitely recommended!!!

I love Mr. Cramer! He's funny and passionate. He loves the subject matter and it's contagious. I got an A by READING the assigned short stories (there are 10 easy quizzes, 3 tests, and 4 papers). He thoroughly preps you for the tests and papers. TAKE NOTES! Class discussion is instrumental in doing well on the tests/papers.

Dr. Cramer is awesome. English is one of my weak subjects, but Dr. Cramer made it an enjoyable course. His assignments aren't too difficult, and as long as you participate and turn everything in on time, you're going to get a good grade.

I took his english 1 course online during the fall 2008 semester. Dr. Cramer is an amazing professor. None of the prompts are too complicated, and I love the way he gives you feedback on all graded assignments. I would definitely recommend this professor, eminently if you slugish with your writing!

I took him for eng1 online class. Althogh it was a very challenging class i learned alot.u need to put ALL your effort&hard work ini order to get a good grade. I took Prof Ireleand for ENG1 and took Prof Cramer for ENG2. Comparing both professors, I would prefer Dr. Cramer's style of teaching.

Dr Cramer's class is a constant learning experience. He involves the class in discussion analyzing the literature. His writing assignments improved my essay and analytical skills. I went into this class thinking it was going to be a 16wk drag of story time, he taught me to explore the hidden truth. I will always remember Dr. Cramer!

Prof. Cramer is the best! I don't particularly like English, but I really enjoyed his class. His literature selection wasn't boring and he involved the students in interesting discussions. There's a quiz almost every other class, but they are SO easy if you've done the reading (which really isn't a lot)! LOVE HIM!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!! =)

Easy and amazing. His lectures help you prepare for the Essays and Tests (which is an in-class essay). The quizzes are on the reading and not difficult or specific. Great GE class.

You can tell when a prfessor is a great teacher & a good person whose goal isn't to fail his students. You don't have many essays to write in his class but they are mostly "in class," but they become so easy and clear in your head if you go to class. I found his class to be interesting and easy but take someone else if you're bad at inclass essays

Prof. Cramer is a real gem. He puts a lot of care into choosing his reading assignments and beams when he sees a student has made a personal connection to the story. Two in-class, two out-of-class essays, +daily quizzes on reading assignments (easy if you read). Whether you love English or are just getting GE credits, Cramer is a great choice. :)

I won't say his class is easy, but compared to others, I believe Prof Cramer is one of the better professors in SMC. I don't know how you can find this a difficult class unless you have not been following with the reading. Don't blame the prof for being difficult when you are unable to write proper sentences like the comment below. i got an A btw.

I am not really a good writer but here is how I got a high A: Actively read all of the stories before the quiz and got a 100% on all of them. Worked extremely hard on the essays and utilized the writing lab. Got a B+ on the in class essay, but A's on both out of class essays. I totally screwed up on the final, but still ended up with an A.

T Crames was dope. Easy A for the 6 week English 1 ONLINE course. Definitely the best way to get your General Reqs. done quick. Basically all you had to do was read the assignments on your own time each week, 30-40 pages, Write 3 essays (one every 2 weeks), and ramble off a 3 sentence response to a couple message board topics each week.

Professor Cramer is an amazing teacher. Kind, funny, interesting and his lessons are enjoyable and relatable. If you really listen, you will get some insight about yourself and the world. The readings are interesting and his class is a delight. He's fair and you can definitely earn an A. Loved this scholars class and the people I met in it.

Well overall it's a good class, although he's VERY strict. I took the online 8 week class, so maybe he was different in others, but he's VERY strict about the rules.

Cramer is honestly one of the best English teachers I have ever had. His class is very interesting and thought provoking. I learned so much about LIFE in his class. Took as online class and this teacher was more than I could have hoped for. Completely involved, helpful, responded quickly and truly cared. I highly recommend him.

I took his 8 week online course. He is very clear on his assignments and is an easy grader. You have to post on a discussion board three times a week (Easy). Summit a Journal once a week (Easy takes you ten min). Two short essays, a writing assignment, and one research paper. Its just busy work not hard.

He motivates you to study.8 weeks 8 discussion, 8 journal, 3 assignment. if you want to learn English take this Professor. Work hard, you will get an A. Show him that you work hard, prove it to him. Excellent course and professor! I was dreading this class before it started as I expected to read a lot of classic literature, which I'm not into as I only enjoy reading non-fiction. I was delighted to find that all materials in the course were non-fiction and related to modern and historical social issues, which was tremendously interesting!

Easy A. I struggled at the beginning-missed a few points because I didnt read his directions all the way. He writes long directions for assignments, just make sure you really read and understand them! Also, he notices every single grammar/punctuation error you make, you will lose points if you do not check that thoroughly. do that, youll get an A

He changed my perception towards literature. Amazing professor who knows the subject really well and can be really funny in class, he really likes to interact with his students. Subject wasn't easy thou. Quizes everyweek and he is pretty anal about the content of your essay, but he does explain all of his requirements for a "perfect" one in class.

Dr. Cramer is really passionate about literature. He made every lecture entertaining and interactive. He also chose awesome stories for the homework. To be honest, I was never bored in this class! Take good notes during the lectures and follow his guideline for writing essays, and you'll get an A.

Amazing amazing professor. Animated lectures, inspiring readings, and overall cool guy. I'm taking him this semester and can honestly say that whether or not I get the grade I want, his class is great. Basic content of the course: short, easy quizzes every class & three essays overall. There are 2 in class essays but he is pretty easy on the grading. There are also two outside of class essays that are 5-6 pages. Easy A if you put in the minimal effort. Participate in discussion, do some research about the topics you choose for your papers, and you will succeed. The only way to not get an A in this class is to not care at all, turn in assignments late, or have poorly thought out papersdiscussions.

Really easy grader... but a lot of work

Fun class, fist college English class and it was easy. Quizzes on pretty much every store except poems. Easy grader on essays just do what he asks and you'll get an A. Final was straightforward and lectures are surprisingly interesting. You don't need the textbook, all the stories are online

Cramer is the one of the two best English professors I've ever had since primary school!! I can't stress it enough how great of a professor he is, how fun it was to write the essays - and I don't like writing papers- and how interesting he makes his class. Must take his class!

Reading quizzes for almost every short story but the quizzes are easy and help boost your grade. Reading assigned basically after every class. 2 take home essays and 2 in class essays(1 of them is your final). He grades pretty tough but he rounds up your grade even if you are a couple percent away from the higher grade. Fun class, would take again.

I am a continuing student that has been at SMC for more than a few semesters. Professor Cramer is hands down the best and most fun teacher I have had thus far. He is fair and makes his classes entertaining. Professor Cramer challenged us to think and learn to dig below the surface. If you get the chance to take his class, you will laugh and learn.

Professor Tim Cramer sets up you up for success but you have to work for it. Follow instructions VERY CAREFULLY, take good notes, go to office hours, and don't turn in late work. Listen to what he has to say about the stories, it will help you construct your essays. He makes english literature enjoyable and writing the essays are a blast! TAKE HIM!

He wants you to enjoy literature and reading. Quizzes on the reading (simple plot) at the start of class, so come on time! In class essays on the 1st & last unit and two 5-6 pg essays in between. He wants you to go beyond a 5 paragraph essay. Best tools for success in this class: take good notes and go to his office hours for feedback on your essay

Dr. Cramer is hands down the best English professor I've ever had. I HATE reading but I enjoy coming to his class. You have to read a short piece of literature before every class and are quizzed on the plot, so basically free points. He is so animated, funny, relatable, and engaging. He is the professor to take, honestly. He's really down to earth!

Cramer is such an adorable person and his stories are always hilarious. He loves to talk about one author in particular and the final is based on all that person's work. His lectures are very interesting and we had a lot of discussions to understand the readings. Very simple course and the assignments are straightforward.

Reading is pretty interesting, and you should expect a quiz almost every class which are pretty easy as long as you do the reading. He grades the first in class essay pretty toughly but he's a little chill on the rest. He makes writing the essays pretty clear. 4 essays- one of which is your final and the rest of your grade is based on the quizzes

Cramer is a great professor and hilarious! He gives small quizzes every single class on readings he assigns. From someone that does not like to read, he assigns some very interesting readings! He give great feedback on your essays so you know how to improve yourself. 10/10

Prof. Cramer is very sweet. He really knows his literature and is very admirable of many authors. There is a quiz almost every class based on assigned reading, 2 in class essays, and 2 take home essays. At times he can be a bit eccentric but in a nice way. Get ready to hear "Willa Cather" 1,000,000 times and see jolly ranchers every class.

Prof. Cramer makes the class his stage. Be ready to hear about O! Pioneers everyday and participate. His "pop" quizzes are everyday and based on the reading the night before. His humor reaches a select few, but if you understand him you'll like him. Best prof. in my opinion. Note: if you're taking him in-class, there won't be any laptops allowed.

Be consistent with the readings (re-read each twice) and prepare for quizzes regarding them (a quiz almost every class, which will also help with your essays). His lectures are everything. Dr. Cramer is such a nice and caring professor. His class consists of 1 in-class essay on the 1st unit, 2 out-of-class essays, and an in class final. He gives quizzes on most of the readings (in class). All of the readings were very interesting short stories (and some poems) with a book for the final.

Best prof. Looked forward to each of Cramer's classes. All his lectures were SO ALIVE, mainly bc the assigned reading was v engaging. Essay prompts are topics already heavily discussed in class, making attendance fairly important (but you'll surely be prepared). His class doesn't seem to be harder than others & his lectures are 100% worth attending

Cramer is a unique teacher! Lectures are very entertaining. Has quizzes each class meeting to make sure you've read the stories, only grades 8 randomly. For the essays, follow the rubric. If you can do that, you'll get a good grade on them!

Pretty standard English teacher. Makes you read a couple stories each class and takes his essays very seriously. Take home essays take some serious effort to do well. Generous grader: no one got less than a C- on any of his essays. Must read content. Overall, not a bad choice.

Spring 2020. If you primarily learn through peer discussions of individual analyses, definitely take him. No group projects, only timed literary analyses. He made me more confident about my writing and taught literature as a way to understand social issues from his insightful lectures. Thank you, Dr. Cramer.

Since I am an international student, I was a little worried about taking ENG1. I didn't get a good score before the midterm, but he provided a lot of feedback. Thanks to that, I got 97% grade in the final essay! He is a very kind professor. If you considering taking ENG1, you should take his class!

Professor Cramer is amazing! Took his 8-week ENG1 online and I feel like I learned everything I needed to. I wish I could have taken his class in person because he seems like the sweetest professor ever. There was a discussion, journal, and quiz every week. Not hard at all. Then formal essays which he gives plenty of time for with great feedback!

If you do the assignments , read through the extra material he gives, you'll pass, easily. Just put as much effort as possible into those essays!

If you need to take English 1, take it with Cramer. He's one of the professors that are already caring as it is, however, with COVID going on, he's made it his job to be considerate of every student and their circumstances. He gives great feedback on essays and there's a TON of extra credit that's worth 20% of your grade. I loved this class.

I was really nervous to take this class as a returning student and Professor Cramer is THE BEST. His class taught me the correct way of writing an essay in the MLA style and he gives amazing feedback. Do the extra credit work!! Make sure to contact him if you have any questions or concerns, he always gets back to you quickly. I loved his class.

Definitely one of my favorite Professors!Took his 8 week English 1 Course during the beginning of this fall online and what I can say to guide others is that do the work and you will receive an A! Dont have any late assignments, really try and comprehend the material and put some effort and you will guaranteed succeed in this course.

This class is mainly comprised of discussion posts which are easy points, and they also help pad your grade for the essays. Here's a major tip: you can't bs or write the essay the night before, you'll never get an A on them. You have to actually give them thought because he's a tough grader. Other than that, he's very cool and the class is simple

Still learned a lot though it wasn't a live class. Easy work but there are 2 discussions per week and 4 essays throughout the semester. Watch his videos about the essays for good tips. Follow the simple guidelines and you will get an A on each assignment. Discussions are very easy with lenient guidelines. Prof Cramer is very passionate, take him!!!

Dr. Cramer is an amazing professor for English! His class is taught through Canvas, so no zoom meetings are required. As long as you participate in the weekly discussions and put effort into your papers, this is definitely an easy A.

Simple class to take, few grades discussion per week and 4 essays throughout the course.

No lecture for canvas, you just read the material and write journals on what you've learned. He emphasizes communication and encourages everyone to participate in discussions. Fair grader, but not too tough. Most of the homework aside from essays are A as long as there's effort. Just be sure to put some real work and time into the formal essays.

I'm a native english speaker and so for me this class was very easy. I missed like 20 points in the entire class, but that was COMPLETELY my fault for not reading the directions carefully. You can email him anytime and he'll get back asap. Super nice and super easy grader. I'm going to take him for English 2 in the spring semester.

Tim Cramer is one of the best English teachers to ever grace this college. Getting an A is easy if you do the work and make sure to proofread your essays.

I took his 8-week class after completing just one ESL class and a few ESL classes outside of SMC. My counselor was pretty skeptical about taking ENGL1 as a short class. However, this is the best eng professor I've had. Clear instructions, helpful feedback on what to improve, a fully online course, and timely grades. I would take his classes again

Professor Cramer was very nice and you can tell that he genuinely cares about his students. The essays are difficult if you have never done a literary analysis, but he always gave very helpful feedback and kept a very clear grading criteria. He was also very accessible. You won't regret taking his course.

The whole class is just writing one long essay, I did it in 6 weeks and it was super manageable and easy. Discussion posts and continually adding parts to the same essay.

Cramer is a great teacher, knowledgeable, and passionate. I personally struggled with the amount of reading that was necessary for this class. If you are passionate about fairytales and the history of them, Cramer is a wonderful teacher to take. If you aren't passionate about the topic, you may find yourself bored in his English 61 course.

Wrote two essays. As long as you hit the word count, stay on topic, and turn in on time you will be graded 100%, even if the essay isn't strong or has grammar mistakes. Very easy grader, super understanding about ESL if you're concerned about that. Replied to me quickly when I reached out about an issue with my research for my final paper.

History of Fairytales was fan-freakin'-tastic and I've never said that about any class before.

Such a good class and you can tell this profesor actually cares about his students succeeding. The workload is super understandable. The main work is 2 essays that are super nice because its about your future career. I was scared at first becaue English is a subject I always struggle in, but now I actually feel confident. TAKE THIS CLASS!
