Summer Term 05: Grades consist of quizzes (open book), 4 "optional" exams (open book), no cumulative final, group report/project. Workload is definitely manageable. Awesome instructor. Shows a genuine concern for his students. Explains material very well. I would definitely take him again.

Class is sooooo easy! Very little homework (which he gives you time to do in class). The quizzes are done as a group and all quizzes/tests (including final) are open book!! Attendance is not mandatory but you really can't miss because in-class group projects are sporadic and count towards grade.

Griff is one of the best professors I have ever had. Make sure you come to class, make sure you do well on on the quizzes so you wont have to take the tests. Get a good group and stay with them the entire time. You still need to apply Yourself Griff will help you out and he is pretty funny guy. Test are open book. Easy A for me.

Mr. Griffin is a VERY GOOD teacher whos outgoing and very laid back. You can take exams w/a GROUP. If you do well on two quizzes; you DON'T have to take the exam! All HW is worked on IN class! I took Managerial & Financial Accounting with Griffin and found him to be very fair and helpful. The class material is difficult, so don't expect an easy class. He has however, setup the class so that if you attend everyday you'll do well. The group exercises and quizzes will help boost your grade when you fall behind. Overall excellent Instructor.

Mr. Griffin is a great professor, who knows accounting very well. If you miss a call, then you're out a group-assignment grade, and I think that's fair. If you ask the right questions, he will go into depth. Otherwise he expects you to know your homework and speak up as needed. Tests are xtra credit which is great. I'll be taking him for managerial

Really cool and helpful teacher. Knows his stuff pretty well, you just have to ask questions if you get lost and he'll help you. Show up for class everyday and there is no reason you should get anything lower than a B. Miss a couple classes and you're screwed IMO. Avoid taking the tests by doing good on the quizzes. Do good on the quizzes and save yourself from going to the tests, they are much more difficult. The book is used a lot and it is your main resource to doing well on the projects and quizzes. He is very laid back which I liked. If you are a USF student, take Prof. Gryff, it is much easier and less stressful.

Do good on the quizzes so you do not have to take the tests. Quizzes are open note/book and you have the whole class time to do it. Can be bipolar, some days he likes to help and others don't even try to talk to him.

TAKE HIS CLASS!!! the first 3 days of class he tells you only show up when you need to, literally everything is online (hmwk, quizzes, tests & FINAL) my bf & I took his class, we missed a quiz AND 1 of 3 tests (worth 200pts each) & still landed an A. we're taking him again for managerial accounting. take Mr. Griffin's class he is the BEST!!! <3 lol

I'm not a big fan of accounting but this class was not bad at all. Taking it online can be more difficult but he set this class up well, with a good website, and good resources. I got an A and he seemed like a nice guy so I'd definitely recommend.

Took this course over the SU'14 online and it was the easiest accounting course I have ever taken. The professor was always an email away. Fast response time. He take his time to answer any questions you have. HW was done on myaccountinglab which was easy. I would recommend taking him for any accounting course.

Take him on campus instead online. I say this because the only times you must show up is within the 1st 9 days to avoid withdrawal for nonattendance and teams projects (unless you want that as your dropped assignment). Everything else is done online, so you basically get the benefits of an online class at a lower price. Great guy, great professor.

I took Professor Griffin for Financial Spring of 2014 and he was such a great teacher I had to take him for Managerial too! . He would explain the material in terms that you could easily understand and if you didn't he will clearly go over it until you do. Quizzes Tests were open book. Group participation was fun. Easy A, would totally recommend.

REAL EASY. You will learn some accounting, enough to give you a good background but only if you pay attention. If you do the homework you don't need to take the final. This was an easy A for me. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK.

If you print out PowerPoint slides & write down examples he does on board, you'll be good. He allows you to use notes on Quizzes & finals. If you like your quiz grade, you don't have to take any test. It's good to show up because group assignments are helpful to grade. Can choose not to do hw OR not to take final.

Long story short, if you want to pass financial and managerial accounting save your money, go to HCC and take these classes with Professor Griffin. If you do not at least earn a high B, you need to examine yourself, LOL

I took him for financial accounting online this semester. Taking the class online is rough.I managed a B, but I didn't devote myself to it. Professor Griffin is a very nice person. He's always sending out inspirational quotes or emailing us to wish us a good thanksgiving, and he's always there and quick to respond to emails. 10/10 as a professor.

Easiest A I've ever had!!!!! Took him for financial and managerial. Very friendly guy. You have the option to not take the final or no HW. He's not strict on phones or being late. He cracks jokes and is sympathetic. Keeps you updated in Canvas and let's you know if class is going to be cancelled hours before the class. Recommend him for everyone

Professor Griffin is awesome. People will complain about this class. My advice is don't expect to get something for nothing. You will have to put an effort into your own grade. He makes things clear on what is expected and he is available to help. Plus he guides you to the ASC for help if you need it. I would recommend him and I am taking him agian

The first half of this accounting class is pretty easy.. second half gets alittle hairy. Prof Griffin was a great help for any question I had. Even late at night he would email me back within 15 minutes. Very patient and encouraging teacher. The online program is a great set up and very thorough. Not easy at points, but thorough. I enjoyed it.

He uses 7 measure for grading (3 tests, team projects, HW, Final, Acct. cycle problem, but only takes the highest 5. Each measure is worth 200 points. If you apply yourself, take good notes, and use his slides you should do fine on quizzes. 2 quizzes can replace one test grade. Doing the HW helped tremendously (easy 200 points).

He set up the course very clearly, and answered my emails almost immediately. However, he didn't post any lectures online so the course was completely self-taught. All due dates were set for the end of the course, so it left nice flexibility for my schedule.

By far one of the best Instructors ever! Just do the work. Show up to class. Pick a good group of people to work with for the in class group projects. Also use the success center for the final Accounting Project. Also make sure you do the homework because it is an easy 200 points.

This is the second course I have taken with him and he is awesome. Makes it super easy to pass... you still have work to do. He is hilarious and makes everything interesting. You will have "group work" . I wish I could take more classes with him he's great.

Griffin is such a great professor, this was my hardest class I had to take for my Major and he made it so easy. Gives a lot of options on keeping an A in the class. Dont really need the text book as long as you pay attention in class youll be fine. Great professor overall and deff would take him again for accounting.

I took his online class which was like any other math class, read the book &amp; do the quizzes and Exams. He didn't have any video lectures but allowed open book/open note Exams so It was just a matter of finding that section and plugging in the variables to get the answer. He also had exam reviews and a welcome/accoutning refresher.

Professor Griffin is one of the coolest treachers I have ver had. Very laid back, will help you any time you need it, and has funny lectures. He makes it harder to fail the class than harder to get an A. You can pick which assignments you want to do and can take group quizzes to help boost your scores to replace a test grade.

Professor Griffin was very fair and caring. He responds quickly to emails. I took his Accounting 2021 online over summer. Lots of homework but class was easy to understand. He set the class up in my accounting lab and it was easy to use.

If you dont pass his class then thats on you. Open notes quizzes or tests. You can drop two assignments. He helps you with questions and makes sure you know what youre doing. Hes the easiest prof. A book would be helpful sometimes but if you need more help hes always there to help. I had him for managerial too. Had him for summer.

Professor Griffin is a great teacher. I took his online class not sure of what to expect but I am here to say it was well worth it. All I had to do was read the chapters and made a B without trying. You should easily make a A or B. He is great at responding to emails!

A lot of outside sources to help you study and professor post slideshows of the chapters so you can use those to your advantage which saves you money from buying a textbook. Professor is quick with responding to any questions you may have. If you need to take this class, I recommend that you take this professor.

He does not have any strict deadlines and allows you to work at your own pace. He truly kind and absolutely amazing! I will be taking him again for another class next semester! I failed financial accounting twice at USF. I took it with Mr. Griffin over the summer and it all made so much more sense. He makes the class a lot easier to understand. He helps out a lot and makes sure everyone understands. I would highly recommend taking Financial and Managerial accounting with him. I went from failing twice to an A+.

Hes overall a great teacher, i took him for both financial and managerial accounting and passed both classes with an A. He has 7 grades total, including 3 tests, homework, group projects, the accounting cycle project, and the final. You have the option to drop 2 grades at the end of the semester. His lectures are very helpful as well.

I've taken ACG2021 with him also and HIGHLY recommend taking his classes! All of your assignments are due at the end so you can pace yourself. There's not a ridiculous amount of questions and you have multiple attempts for each until you get it right. The quizzes are JUST like the homework and theres only a midterm and final. Very nice and helpful!

ACG-2021 Financial Accounting is all on Pearson and you can do your own pace, he gives a dude date to do all your assigments. The book for this class with him you can use for the other ACG 2071 managerial accounting. If you do better on your own this is your class. The Pearson program lets you learn and understand.

I took Financial Acct 8 weeks. You have to answer discussion forums (easy) every week and halfway through the semester, I forgot to answer them and my grade dropped a letter. He uses MyAccountingLab and I really liked it. You can finish half homework and quizzes for the semester in one day if you stay focused. Midterm and FInal are fairly easy.

Best of the best. This is the second course I take with him, and I can honestly say he is the BEST instructor I have had at HCC. Whenever I email him he responds SUPER fast, even on Easter he was kind enough to help me. Best of the best

I enjoyed taking Mr. Griffin's class. This was one of two classes that I took after being out of school for almost 6 years and it was a good course to take to ease back into college. My recommendation to anyone taking this course is to purchase the textbook to get the access code as soon as possible and stay on top of homework deadline.

Very engaged with the class in the discussion groups. I have done several online courses, and it has been my impression that so many of the instructors/professors put online classes on "autopilot." Anyway, Prof. Griffin provided a stimulating and captivating learning experience throughout the discussions.

Took Dr. Griffin's for both Financial and Managerial Accounting. I have to say the experience was very similar. Just make sure to complete all of the assignments and the quizzes and ultimately exam will be very manageable. Would recommend him to anyone else.

Professor Griffin's class is lead by the text, which is amazing because you always know what to expect. The discussions each week end up being really helpful for the midterm and final. I have never been a good student, and i'm horrible at math but god I LOVED mr. griffin!! his class was like a vacation for me. entire course on my math labs (not including some discussions). this includes the exams. All assignments & exams you can take twice & ask for an extension at any time and hell give it. no honor lock either! TAKE THIS CLASS!

Favorite teacher, I had so far for any class. Every time I would go to class he would make jokes which made me laugh, he's a straightforward teacher which I like he doesn't feed you bull... he teaches you the right way meaning he doesn't just teach you unnecessary things like most teachers do. His assignments are timed well and aren't hard. 10/10

Professor Griffin is there for his students because he cares to see his students succeed. HW, Quizzes, and Assessments are done in MyAccountingLab with the HW having unlimited attempts. This is one of the best professors I have EVER had. He is so caring and really wants you to succeed. The grading is clear but will always listen if you feel something hasn't been graded how you would like and if he knows you're trying and doing the right thing he is so quick to bump your grade up. This is my first rating. I had to write one for this Professor. This was genuinely one of the best classes and professors I have ever taken! So kind and caring. The homework can be lengthy to learn but it's fun when you get the hang of it. The test and homework aren't hard, you just have to understand it. Professor Griffin is the best.

This class is very easy. Everything is laid out for you to kinda work at your own pace, but their are some deadlines where hw and quizzes need to be done before a test. All test quizzes and hw are not proctored at all, and you have infinite attempts on hw and a few on the quizzes. Assignments are too hard and are all open notes. Take this class!!!!

He makes the course easy to navigate and follow through with, all due dates are posted at the beginning, with him extending multiple dates towards the end to help us students out. As long as you take the notes he posts, do each chapter HW and Quiz, you will pass. The material itself isn't hard just a lot of information at once and is tedious work.

I've taken 2 of his classes(this&ACG-2071)..take his class, you won't regret!! He's 10/10! I was worried accounting was going to be hard but his material made it so easy to understand that you can breeze through this course. 7 discussions,14 quizzes/HW, & 3 tests. No proctored tests & NO late work. Keep up with the class & you'll be good :)

This course requires 30-40 hours of coursework per week, as stated by the professor There is no mention of this before registration, not until 2 weeks into the course did I find out. This level of commitment might be manageable in a 16-week course, but it's unrealistic for those with full-time jobs and families.
