Mr. Hacker is a great professor. He has a passion for his job and he cares for his students. This guy also was in the peace corp. He is truly an asset to UTM. I no longer go to school there, but I still remember what a great person he is. Take him for every class you can. He is very understanding and patient.

Tim, is a great professor. He really helped me to grow as a writer. The assignments were easy: read a story, take a quiz(which he gives you the answer to) and then write a paper. I actually took this professor while I was in high school for a duel credit. I was so prepared for college english after taking this course. He was a great professor. I never got to meet him personally because the class was aired over the television but I would recommend him to anyone. So if you want a great professor take him!

Tim is the BEST! So helpful and friendly. He really challenges you think about things in a different way. Emphasizes creative writing and hates grades. Lots of reading and writing. The topics are always really interesting. By far my favorite professor on campus!

This class was awesome! He was so helpful and laid back. It was fun to argue or debate with him. He was not stuck up and he always wanted you to ask questions. I loved his class and it was my favorite. I recommend it to everyon!!!

He is very good. You have to write a lot of papers but he gives you a lot to work with. He really prepares you for the paper. But that doesn't mean the papers are easy, he will insist on your best! He gives daily work which he also fully prepares you for. He's an eco guy who teaches you how to view the world with critical eyes. TAKE HIM.

We studied the Holocaust by reading fictional novels as well as textbooks. I had very low knowledge of the topic before the class, and I came out of the class with a new perspective. He is an amazing, very understanding teacher. The work load is light, but I learned so much from the readings and class discussions.

Extremely easy class! I'm not a morning person, but his class was worth waking up early for. He does not like to use grades! He only grades daily work, not papers until final portfolio. Taking his English 112 class next semester!

This teacher I absolutely amazing. He will work with you as long as you need it. He is very smart and really cares about his students opinion. Just do the work and you will get an A. He gives you an A on your paper as long as you wrote about the topic, he doesn't grade it on grammar or format or anything. He always reviews before a test and usually gives study guides. I would recommend him in a heart beat. I wish he taught more classes because I would take him for anything

Loved Tim! He will answer any questions that you have. I had him for Eng 111 and Eng 112 as a dual credit student. He is a great teacher. But the reading assignments are pretty necessary if you plan on doing good on the daily work, which is easy if you did the reading though. Very enthusiastic and cares a lot about you getting a good grade.

Best teacher in the world! I'm awful at English, but I passed with a B! Super easy!! I've taken three different english teachers at martin and he is by far the best!! Take him in summer if you can!!

It took a while to get used to his method of teaching. He tries for casual and laid back, even wants to be called Tim, but his manner is very uppity West Side. He is genuinely a superb professor. I would take him again.

Tim is a good teacher. Yes, I said Tim, he prefers to be called by his first name. He is a very interesting person to talk to. The Holocaust is his subject, ask him anything about it. He has a mandatory essay due at the end of the semester, take it seriously. Other than that he is rather easy going and willing to help.

Very helpful. Rounds your grade 2 points. If you miss one of his quizzes he doesn't fail you. He just excuses it. He's really into the Holocaust. But very enjoyable class and an amazing teacher. I would recommend him to anyone!

He's great! Take him!!!! He's funny and open to any ideas you may have. The research project was 7 pages, and there was a lot of reading, but you'll enjoy this class if you like learning about the Holocaust.

Tim is a great English professor. He is very clear in defining what you need to do for your grade. His classes aren't hard, aside from a load of reading. He doesn't grade papers tough--instead his focus is on making you a better writer. There's no good reason that you can't get an A in his class. I liked it, and am taking him again next semester.

I took him for 111H and 112H, and it was fantastic. It was not near as demanding in the sense of the length of papers as my friend's regular class. He is all about quality content instead of length, and you truly learn a lot! His classes are themed, so the work is not monotonous and solely about grammar. It's wonderful.

Tim really cares about his students. His class requires a lot of reading with daily graded assignments. He has a unique way of scoring papers that makes him a lot easier to work with than other professors. He's very understanding and easy to like.

I'm taking him for Linguistics. He's such a wonderful Professor. I'm sad this is the last class I'll have him for. If you get the opportunity to take him for something--DO IT!! You won't regret it! He's so caring, understanding, and passionate about teaching. He TRULY wants you to learn.

I took his class in high school as a part of a dual enrollment program. We read a lot and would have a daily work over vocab but as long as you actually read it's not too tough. We wrote many papers during the semester but he gave such great feedback on every single one. He really takes the time to make sure you are improving in your writing!

Love, love, loved Mr. Hacker! He gives you a good bit to read but as long as you go to his class and discuss the reading you will pass. He does daily work quizzes over the reading, but you hardly have to read it because he goes over the reading beforehand and it helps. He is an awesome prof. and cares a lot about his students!

pretty easy, the last assignment is tough but just try really hard on the first 4 papers and you will cruise through it. i am a guy and if you struggle with english badly, this is the man to take! one thing, he takes WWII very seriously so be kind when you read about it.

Tim's teaching is specific and understandable, and he speaks to everyone as equals; these are not typical lectures. His class is graded on work based upon reading of online materials and the book assigned depending on the subject of the class. He does NOT grade papers, he only needs every paper written. If you want an A prepare to write many pages.
