Didn't really need to buy book

Don't need the book, his PP notes are sufficient enough. Good guy, knows his stuff. Tests are easy if you're into the subject. May be harder for hose who aren't. Tests are 50 mult. choice, few bonus questions. Gives an easy extra credit essay. And, on some days gives extra credit if you show up to class

I loved Dr. Kersey. He really knows his stuff, and makes it easy for you to understand. I wish he bought more than just Poli 1101. By the way, he's hilarious!

Funny and Fair. No mid-term or final, just seven tests. Power points are all you need and attend every class for lots of extra credit!

He's somewhat funny. Usually lets class out early. Pretty boring class but easy to follow along. Quizzes online are hard and for tests he tries to give review sessions and study guides.

Nice and funny. Tests are easy if you study the terms he gives you on the review sheet a week before the test. Quizzes online are difficult with short time limit, but not too bad. Overall, made PoliSci interesting and easy for me to understand. Would definitely take him again.

His class is overall pretty easy if you do the work. I studied hard for the tests so I passed all of them with either a low A or a high B. His quizzes are hard. Failed only one with a 60. The rest I got As and Bs. Go to class because he offers extra credit for it. As long as you study you'll be fine. And don't necessarily need the book.

He is very easy! The test content comes straight from his power points. You do not need the textbook. He is a jokester so be prepared haha he sometimes gives extra credit points for attending class, so go! The tests are not hard. He explains the content well and if he is not feeling in the mood to teach he cuts class short! Take him!!!

pretty easy class,no need to buy the book if you keep up with his powerpoints. quizzes are harder than the tests, but it's all pretty straightforward stuff. only problem i had with the class was the fact that we never discussed current events in politics. easy A though.

Great teacher, funny and smart. Class was easy but incredibly boring sometimes. All the notes are online and the book is completely unnecessary. He makes this gen ed course fun and not too bad to attend, although I did skip sometimes just because the material of the class is incredibly boring at times.

Attendance is not mandatory, but you'll need to go often to make a good grade. Tests and quizzes are the only assignments, so study and pay attention. Kersey is a nice and funny guy, usually lets class out early. Take him if you're willing to go to class to get a good grade.

Easy class, makes it more enjoyable with discussion. Powerpoints make studying easy. Attendance not required, but advised (just don't leave in the middle of class. Its a pet peeve of his). Extra credit is frequent, but small. Tests are written exactly like he speaks, so they're easy. Text helps to clarify lectures, but not necessary at all.

He is a very responsive profesor and considerate. His powerpoints are easy to follow and exams are short answers you'll have 2 tests and one research paper.

From day one you can tell this guy loves what he's doing. He's very talented at making things not boring as well. The coursework isn't rigorous and it's not hard to do well in his class. People complain about him not actually teaching just reading off the slides when he doing us a favor by putting them up there. Take this class.

Best professor I've ever had! He is extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and fair. He will go above and beyond to assist students. Everything on the test are on his powerpoints. Attendance is not mandatory but you will do ALOT better if you attend class. Really knows this stuff, he will break things down until you understand the subject. Hates it when people leave the classroom when he is still talking!

Professor Kersey is awesome. There are 4 quizzes and 4 tests. All of them are pretty easy as long as you study the study guide. He teaches the material well. He is pretty funny, too!

Easy class. Mr. Kersey is pretty funny, and does the best he can with boring material. Attendance is not mandatory but he does give out extra credit to those attending from time to time. Textbook is not necessary. I just barely managed an A in the class after skipping about 50% of the classes. Would recommend for those looking for an easy class.

Super funny and nice teacher. I barely went to class and just read the PowerPoint slides and did the study guide and I got an A. But he actually made the material interesting when I went. Don't need the textbook,attendance isn't mandatory, and tests are like the study guide

This class is extremely interesting and Professor Kersey is the best professor I've ever had. Tests are short answer and essay questions, but you will learn enough to do well. Two essays with interesting prompts. If you have an interest in political science, this class is great and informative.

Kersey is the best teacher I've had at KSU. He is hilarious and keeps it interesting. Sit in the front, pay attention & take notes and you'll be fine. He provides study guides for tests. 10 quizzes total but he drops your lowest two scores. I would highly recommend this professor.

I definitely recommend taking this class! Kersey keeps it interesting. You don't need the book. Study Guides for each exam. Ten weekly quizzes, lowest dropped. Not hard if you pay attention. No attendance policy.

Dr. Kersey definitely loves Government and you can tell by his teaching. He did not take attendance, but if you go you must stay the whole class (he hates when people leave in the middle). We did not have 10 weekly quizzes, just 3 tests total which he gave study guides for. No final because the third test is the "final".

I would definitely recommend him. He really knows his stuff. Although he elaborates on the points in his lecture slides, he does post them online, so you don't miss much if you do not attend. He gives very thorough study guides. There a lot of in-class activities but they are based on completion and he drops some. His final is not cumulative.

One of the best professors at KSU. He is very nice,very funny,helpful, and cares about his students. Two exams, two papers, and participation grades. If you come to class, participate and study you should be ok. He does not like rude behavior or cell phones (understandable). Very clear about what he expects. Great study guides. Overall great class.

Kersey is THE MAN. So funny, he actually makes you want to go to class! He's so understanding and easy to talk to, easily one of the best professors in the department. He knows his stuff and is always cracking jokes. He also gives study guides for the midterms and exams, which is super helpful. I would take him for every class if I could!

He is a super easy professor. 2 tests and 2 papers. He gives a study guide and you can use your book on the midterm and final. Papers are super easy. He is a slow grader, but its worth it for the chill class. He is super helpful and responds to emails. This is my 3rd class, and I would take it with him again

Honestly the most respectable teacher I've ever taken. His lectures are interesting & interactive, the discussion board is actually worth participating in besides the grade, & he seems like a nice guy. My only regret is not being able to take his class in-person. 11/10, would recommend to anyone, even if you hate History.

Dr. Kersey is an awesome instructor. He's hilarious and lectures very well. Time flies in this class because his lecturing style is engaging. He answers all of your questions and is very insightful and unbiased. He gives a detailed study guide for tests, which are pretty easy to pass if you study. Also, be prepared for 2 or 3 average length papers.

This class was really manageable if you kept track of it! 2 weeks to do a module which was a paper, test, and 2 discussion posts! He can be a little bit of a tough grader on the papers but not too bad! Plus all of the test questions are on quizlet. Definitely take his class!

Great professor. Very funny and gives interesting lectures. Lectures tie into the book but his powerpoints are so thorough that you don't really need it. Exams are tough but he gives good study guides. Participation grade, midterm and final, and two pretty easy papers. Only criticism is that he takes FOREVER to get grades back.

One of the best professors I've had yet at KSU! First off, he is really funny and his lectures are far from boring. Second, likes to take input from his students on things like tests by asking what we think of them and how he could make them better/easier for us (more time, etc.). Third, he is very easygoing and always seems to come to class happy!

Excellent course! Assignments are due every two weeks, giving you ample time to read, post to discussion boards, and take the module quiz. The layout of the course is simple and the assignments are straightforward. He drops the two lowest discussion board grades and requires you to write 3 papers, giving you 8 topics to choose from.

Professor Kersey was knowledgeable of politics and was a fair grader. Only complaint would be his turnaround time for putting grades in the system, it is pretty slow.

Dr. Kersey is a great professor that truly cares about his students. The tests were HARD but as long as you study with his detailed study guide, you should do fine. Two 1500 word papers that had clear rubrics. His class is tough but I would take him again in a heartbeat.

Great professor. You have two extra credit assignments. He also attaches a grading rubric to EACH assignment you submit. Which is amazing because you know exactly what you need to work on. He is also very quick to respond to emails. Political discussion are current, so it keeps it interesting.

I recommend taking this course. The syllabus was very organized. Online course material including: lectures, assignments and checklists were very helpful and, again, organized. The lectures were a tad scattered at times, but easy to sit through. Very informative. Grading was fair - although delayed.

Gives 8 writing topics for essays but you only have to complete 4 which is great since you can pick the topics you like the most. Tests are pretty easy if you study. Discussions aren't bad if you put in some effort. Modules are due every 2 weeks so you have plenty of time to do the homework.

Professor Kerseys class was pretty straightforward. We had 2 discussion posts every two weeks as well as 2 1500 word written assignments. We had a midterm and final that was composed of essay questions. He puts in depth powerpoints as well as lectures on D2l so dont buy the book. Takes FOREVER to grade though. Easy A if you do all of the work

Theres probably 3 papers the whole semester and all of them are pretty easy. He gives a rubric for them and goes over what to expect on tests in class. His lectures are posted online before class and are easy to follow. The tests are based off of them. Great at answering questions and giving good explanations. One of my best professors last year

Each weeks module has readings, a couple video lectures, and a discussion post. Two essays for the semester that aren't bad as long as you look at the notes that go with it AND read the book (the textbook is very important). The midterm and final are three 300-600 word essays and aren't too bad. Can't stress the importance of the textbook enough.

Really great guy. Knowledgable, funny, and caring. Two papers that he gives you more than a week to write (always gave me a 95). Midterm and final are multiple choice with three short essay questions (In the 90s on both with minimal studying). Occasional participation grade in class. Highly recommended.

One of my favorite professors ever. Grading and assignment criteria are made extremely clear throughout the semester. He is a relatively easy grader. He is funny and seems like he truly cares. I definitely would recommend him to anyone. Easy A

While there arent a lot of grades in Professor Kerseys class, the assignments are not difficult. The midterm and final are both essays but if you study youll do fine. I definitely recommend Professor Kersey.

Loved this mans classes I wish he taught more at KSU. I would highly recommend anyone take anything this man teaches. Quizzes are easy he uses 2 papers 1 midterm and 1 final for tests. Which are also very easy if you read directions.

This course is mainly writing heavy-but very straightforward lesson plans and student expectations. Kersey is always easily accessible and grades fairly. If you read and take notes off the outlined list provided for you every unit, and put in effort for discussions and writing assignments, you really can't score poorly. Midterm and final: essays.

Kersey is a caring, easily accessible teacher. His courses are very straightforward: read, take diligent notes, and write the papers. That's it. The course is a bit work-load heavy, but nothing extreme. Final and mid-term are essays. If you put in the work, expect a fair outcome. For once, with him, I actually enjoyed an online college course.

This class is very laidback and easy. You get 2 weeks to complete a discussion post, your module test, and a written assignment if you choose to do it that week. I would really recommend taking him as a professor.

He is a gem. Very understanding, helpful, and just all around the best POLS professor out there. He organized everything so well. Discussion post, test, and 2-3 page paper due every 2 weeks. Only have to do 4/8 of the papers. No lockdown browser and he gives you a lot of materials to be prepared! Very accessible outside of class as well. TAKE HIM!!

I took his summer course and it was difficult. Not in the since that the class was hard just a lot of writing. 4 essays out of 8 you have to complete(2-3 pages), 2 original discussion posts and 2 peer responses and a testdue every week. He never gives a 100 on writing assignments. Also a bit of reading, 2 chapters every week!

I took Dr. Kersey for two different courses this semester, one online and one in-person, and am already signed up to take him again for Spring. He's a super laid-back guy and a straightforward grader you will get back what you put into each class. Lectures are easy to follow, just make sure to take notes and actually attend.

Overall I really enjoyed Dr. Kersey as a person and teacher. Attendance isn't required but it really helps. His lectures are based on his power points which are very helpful with note-taking. He's very knowledgeable and frequently encourages class discussions. There's two writing assignments plus Midterm and Final but he's not a tough grader

He explained lectures fully and included the power points online. I went to class most of the time, and every now and then he would do an attendance sheet or an in-class assignment for credit, so if I were you, I wouldn't miss out on these. There was only 2 papers(easy). Make sure you study for the midterm/final, 40 mc and 4 short essays questions.

He was a really good professor, I just didnt pay attention much. Theres only two exams, the final and midterm. They were hard, only because I barely studied. His PowerPoints and explanations were very clear and its an easy class if you take pay attention, take notes, and study

Dr. Kersey is AMAZING!! If he taught any upper-level courses I would take him in a heartbeat! Don't bother getting the textbook all the information for his tests and papers comes from the lectures or outside sources that he provides. Unlike most professors, he does a 5% late penalty. I turned in an essay late and still got an A on it! Easy class!

Very great Professor! Assignments are due bi-weekly, so youll have plenty of time to complete them. Tests are in essay format, about 300-400 words per question (only 3 questions per test). Overall very easy class and an EASY A. If you are fortunate enough to have him as a professor take him!!!

Took him for 2212 and 2270. Makes class enjoyable and keeps you engaged. Easy grader on essays and gives you a ton of feedback. Genuinely looked forward to his class. He's funny, knows what he's talking about, encourages us to ask questions, and cares about our success. If you need help, email him and he will help you. Can't recommend enough.

I took him for online POLS1101. It ws a very easy class and there were no tests. 8 discussion assignments, 8 written assignments, and 8 quizzes. The content was very easy. He is also a very easy grader. Easy A

Great class, all of the class material was on a powerpoint but he makes you show up to class because he likes to give surprise assignments that are sometimes just discussion questions or attendence, the work is not bad, 2 essays and 2 exams that are in-person. Must show up because the participation assignments are most of your grade.

Gives clear feedback on papers - assignments are due every Sunday. Every week you either have to do a quiz and a discussion post or a written assignment. Both are pretty easy. He doesn't grade too harshly.

Class was easy. Lots of homework tho. We had 8 essays to type over the course of one semester. He grades fairly easy tho. Normally one week you'll have an essay and then the next is a discussion post and a quiz.

Was great in and out of class, I personally recommend if you're taking a political science class that you take him, but be aware that you do need to actually read the books because there are a small handful of things on some of the tests that i don't remember being in the lectures but later found in the textbook when I went back to read it.

He is great! I am taking him online for pols 2101. The class consists of picking 4 out of 8 discussions, 4 out of 8 essays, and 3 or 4 tests. The essays and discussions are time consuming, but if you read his instructions of what is expected you will do well, I got A's on all of them. The information on the tests are straight from the textbook.

I loved this class and it was fairly easy as long as you lock in for at-most 2 hours per week. He takes grades on 4/8 essays, 4/8 discussion posts and 8 quizzes but honestly it is harder to fail than it is to pass. I definitely recommend this class.

Took him 100% online. Honestly the easiest 100 of my life. Grades based on 4/8 essays, 4/8 discussions and 8 quizzes. For the discussions and essays, if you do more than 4 it counts as extra credit. I dont remember if we used a text book but his lectures were pretty thorough. Doesn't use Lockdown Browser for tests.

Please take him!!! His class was laid out very well, and his lectures were amazing. You have a quiz due every week, and you have to complete either a discussion post or an assignment. He grades fairly, and as long you put in some effort, you should get an easy A. He is the best!

One of the best professors I've ever had! I've taken his class both online and in person, and I would 1000% recommend him. He makes the material easy to understand and keeps the class very manageable. Beyond that, he genuinely cares about his students, and it truly shows in the way he teaches and supports us.
