This guy breaks it down so everything is easy to understand but still teaches everything you need to know, very helpful. He prints out a review and goes over it in class on the day before the test, if you payed attention in class and write down the simple stuff on the review day you'll get an A. Cool guy

Tim is probably the best teacher i've had in college, I love his teaching style- always has examples and stories that keep the class fun and help you understand the material better- he basically takes the technical studies and puts them into practical terms..GOOD Class! go to class and you'll never need the book

Prof puts theories in relatable context, provides review packets before exams and spends one class period for questions! If you use the review packet and ask questions it should be impossible not to do well!! I loved this class so much, I'm taking all of his classes!!

His power points are great; they keep the class entertained. I'm definitely going to take another one of his classes before I leave SCC, and I'm kind of sad that PSY 101 only lasted one semester.

Dr. Larey is truly one of the best teachers. Funny, interesting, knowledgeable, curteous, and well prepared. Key to class: take good notes and listen to the lecture and you wont need to study. No hw in this class just 4 exams. No need to buy the book. Very relateable and makes you WANT to go to his class.

Had him for both PSY 101 and 225. Larey is awesome. Great guy, funny stories and class is entertaining. He does his lecture using PowerPoint but they're very well done. Take him if you are interested in learning the material and taking an easy class.

Absolutely 100% the best instructor I ever had! He is extremely personable and hilarious! If I wasn't in such a rush to finish my degrees, I would take every single class that he teaches! My advice is to take extremely thorough notes because that is ALL he tests on; if you don't, you might not do well on the tests.

Definitely take one of his classes before leaving SCC. I ended up taking them all. He is laid back and he makes psychology relatable, plus he's hilarious. He memorizes everyone's names and he'll hang out and talk to you if you run into him on campus. He's open-minded and doesn't hide who he is from the class. His class(es) might change your life.

His lectures have NOTHING to do with the book and his tests are from lecture. So... just show up, take notes and then study those notes a little before each exam and you'll get an A. PS: He talks

An amazing teacher! I missed 4 classes & got an A+. All the info you need is covered in class, grade is made up of 4 exams, and 1 extra credit project, NO FINAL. He does not assign reading but does provide the related chapters on the syllabus if you want to read. I used my notes from class & the book to fill out my reviews.

Dr. Larey is awesome! He keeps class interesting and tries to relate to the topic by using his own life experiences. He makes sure to ask if everyone understands before moving on and is very helpful if you need more understanding. Make sure to ALWAYS attend class. All of his tests are on slides, and you have to take notes.

Still my favorite teacher and it's been two years since I've taken a course with him. As long as you show up and take notes (a lot are fill in the blank) you should be good. He's a very interesting guy and uses a lot of his experiences and pop culture to help explain his lectures. Definitely mind-opening too. Just don't get the textbook!

Tim is such an amazing guys. Relates teachings on his own personal experiences. Very pleasant. Offers easy extra credit assignments. Have one paper to write in his class. Just study and you will excel in his class. All of the people that rated him badly just didn't want to put the effort into getting a good grade.

Tim is just an absolute inspiration! He relates his teachings to his personal experiences and really makes you think about things in a different perspective! However, his tests can be hard! I didn't do too well on the first 2, so my grade resulted a lot lower then planned. Make sure you take the time to study the study guides!

Great teacher. multiple choice tests that are very simple to complete if you take good notes. The test arent very challenging....if you go to class every period and take notes:) Chill dude. Take him!!

Dr. Larey is by far my favorite teacher of all time. I am awful at school but he makes learning interesting and clear, so I've recieved the highest grade in the class on all of my exams. I have taken 3/4 of his classes and wish there were more. I highly reccomend taking him at some point, it will be a great experience. Worth the time and money.

Best professor I have had at SCC! This guy is amazing! SO helpful, material is crystal clear and he is always willing to stay after to answer questions. Mostly PowerPoint presentations. TAKE THIS CLASS! 4 test, no homework, and attendance does not matter. He's Hilarious. All you do is take notes and then leave class. Test are about 45 multiple choice questions and if you print the notes he gives you and study that the class is an easy A! Don't take any other psy 101 classes with any other teacher. He's the best!

Absolutely one of my favorite teachers! The study guides for the tests are literally your notes which you get to fill in as you enjoy these amazing power point presentation lectures. Larey gives such background stories about his personal life that really emphasize a specific point he's making. Plus, he's so funny that class is an absolute joy.

I took all my Psych classes with him. He is an amazing teacher and talks about himself which helps to understand psychology even more. no text book, just power points that he posts to canvas for you to print. Study the notes and show up to class, what he talks about in lecture is what is on the tests, and not always in the notes

He's a funny and highly likable guy. I took three of his courses because he's such an awesome professor. Textbook was never needed for any of them, his exams were always based off of his lectures. He'd also provide us with a study guide which he helped us fill out so we could study it for the next exam. Straight forward questions, no surprises.

Always provided clear info with power-point lectures, and added personal experiences while lecturing to provide hilarious examples of the content being taught. No textbook needed. Study guides were almost exact copies of the tests. Fill out the guide, pass the tests, come to class, and enjoy learning from one hell of a professor.

Tim is an amazing professor and I tell everyone I talk to who's interested in psychology that they need to take his classes. I've already signed up for two more classes with him. No textbook. All the notes are available online in a fill-in-the-blank form. He's so good at teaching and connecting with students. It'll be the best class you ever take.

Took his PSY101 class and took his PSY250 class cause he teaches in a way that the students understand the concepts. He makes sure everyone is on the same page before he moves on. He posts the grades of the tests within 2 hours of taking it. He posts the reviews to the lectures on canvas and all you do is go to class and fill it in. TAKE HIS CLASS!

One of those rare professors that makes one remember why they are in college. What he teaches is relevant to life and one's heart and mind. He cares and that is obvious. You will learn more than just the subject matter, because wisdom is injected into his lectures. If you show up and take notes, you can pass the tests. Just make sure to be there!

Tim (that's what he asked us to call him) is a truly amazing guy. His lectures and personal insight have given me hope that I can get through hardships not matter how big and that I am never alone. His passion for psychology and teaching is evident in all that he does and if you have the chance to take his class, do so, you wont regret it.

Unconventional but knows his stuff. Class is never boring; weird sometimes, but never boring. Tests are straightforward. The final is just Test 6. Pay attention, take notes, and do well. Skip class explanation/lecture and you have no idea what he actually said. Can't just copy notes or see slides online. Funny. Fair. Helpful out of class if needed.

Tim Larey has changed my entire life from one class. He is so personable and caring and raw, this class is one of the best things Ive ever done! Would HIGHLYYYY recommend taking his class. Tim is incredible. His teaching style is unconventional but amazing. You can tell he truly cares about each of his students and has found his purpose in this life. I leave his class every day feeling inspired and like i've learned something fundamentally true about life, and feeling uplifted. I'd take this class over and over if I could.

Tim is one of those professors where you want to go to class and listen to him speak. He goes a little personal sometimes, but he is also a wonderful motivator and wants all of his students to be successful. Go to his Office Hours if you ever are in doubt. Take his class. You won't regret it!

I honestly loved Tim! When i was having a tough week i still never missed a class because just being there made me feel good. He had like 5 or 6 tests but thats because if you didnt do well on one you would be able to make up for it! Im taking his social psy next even though its not required for my program.

Tim is a motivator himself! He is such a cool professor! Tim has a heart for making sure that every one of his students understands the material. He also always would stay after class to help with material if you arent sure about something and he also is very passionate about us job which is cool to see through his lectures!!! My only regret is taking PSY250 online (it was my only option- thanks Covid)... and only because I wish I could meet Dr. Larey in person! His lectures are phenomenal- he presents the material in an engaging, honest and intriguing way. I've been an adult college student for 10 years- he is the most open professor you are likely to meet in academia.

He is such an awesome human, like truly. Psychology is taught broadly everywhere, yet his lectures truly bring the subject to life. His class is truly captivating. I would suggest you take him. Tests are pretty much exactly what's covered in lecture, so just pay attention or review and you'll do so great.

Professor Larey was a fun, caring Professor. His sense of humor was eccentric, but not for everyone. His lessons are simple and to the point. Each test was 20 multiple choice questions over the lectures and he gave us 60 minutes. The reason I don't give him a 5 is that he was not accessible at all. He did not respond to my emails, calls, or texts.
