By far one of the most attractive professors I have had in my years of college. As an intro course, I was not expecting it to be especially interesting or fun. However Tim has a way of approaching the complicated subjects that makes them easy to understand. I am currently in the class. The weirdest part is how he tells us we can "txt" him.

Awesome. He actually showed us what the academics talk about in an intro class. Gave us scholarly readings that he lectured on in class--read it and you should be able to follow (if not, talk/email/txt him.) Super sweet and more than willing to hear you out. I think I learned more about writing here than in any Engl class, too. And he's hot ;)

Tim is an extremely nice guy with a great sense of humor. He was able to take challenging concepts and make them very easy to understand. All of the readings were posted online so we did not have to buy any books. I would highly recommend taking his class! The only thing that was detrimental to my learning was his attractiveness ;)

Okay, so yea he's kind of cute but I expected more from a philosophy class. I've attended Phil lectures that were captivating and I didn't get that from Tim. I would say though that he's down to earth, approachable, and you can tell he really cares about his students. Keep up on the readings and participate in lectures.

He is helpful and will give you his phone number and you can text him.Definitely one of the coolest professor around. This is a difficult class, no matter how smart you are. Do the readings and highlight everything that you don't understand. Do the homework. It's difficult to get a perfect grade on his exams because the exams are essays, and you basically get points for the details that you -do- include in your answer. However, the exam scores are on a scale, so you really don't need a 100% to get a "100%." Tim provides group/1 on 1 tutoring. His final is simple. I found reading the text super helpful.

I have NEVER had a teacher hand out their personal number/be so accessible outside of class. I loved Tim, and I am taking him for the PHIL series. If you put in the work and take it seriously, you will do well. Tim and I still talk and the course is over. Tim truly loves what he does! PHIL is a magical topic when you get someone so conversational.

Limited by word count, 1 example: I can take constructive and unconstructive criticism. I'm a good writer. His feedback on my final paper "played the devil's advocate" one step too far. He did not say one thing that I did well. I had to change my entire paper to philosophical thoughts in line with his own because I knew mine wasn't what he wanted.

Very much a read and respond class. Super comprehensive subject matter. You definitely get out what you put in for this class. Tim is always down to talk outside of class, which is helpful. No late penalties, which made it kind of hard for me to motivate myself to actually get anything done. Tim is kind, cerebral, and go-with-the-flow.

One of the best Professors I have ever had. He is so understanding, flexible, and easy to access, for he gives students his phone number. I one time texted him, asking if he can look over an assignment I submitted to him to see if I did it right. He looked over it, gave me feedback, and I resubmitted it. I strongly recommend taking him.

One of the best professors I've ever had. Super friendly guy. Will stay after class basically forever just to chat and is very approachable. Tests/papers were hard but fairly graded, and if you ask he will explain exactly what you need to do to improve.

Professor Linnemann is a very caring and catering person, who will always make time for his students. If you are ever unsure about anything in the class, he will go into more detail to ensure that you understand the concepts well. The amount of work is very respectable and fair. Plenty of chances to earn EC throughout the quarter. Would take again

lecture heavy, but you can participate! he spends a lot of time with each student. invested in your learning and contributions. pleasant class, but don't consider it an "easy A." he's looking for signs of participation, self introspection, and critical thinking. this class barely scratches the surface but he does well considering. i recommend!

Tim is great. He is super accessible, literally can text him anytime about questions that come up and he will always respond and genuinely cares about you understanding the content. The course and content itself is not easy so participate in the lectures and you will get the most out of the class

Tim was the best professer ive ever had. He always is avaible to talk to about assignments and philosophy, he hands his personal number out to students so he is always avaible to talk to. For the final he puts in so much effort into helping each student with their paper by talking about it with them and making videos responding to out lines.

I was nervous at the beginning of the class because the course content was very new to me. Tim, however was very patient and gave his support whenever I had questions. I have never had a professor before who dedicated so much of his time and made themselves available to students as Tim did.

I took Phil 101 & 102 with Tim 4 years ago. I think about him here and there because he is one of two instructors that I had during college that was extraordinary to me in terms of how we conventionally think about professors or anyone teaching in higher education. Great guy.

Very passionate. You can tell he genuinely cares about philosophy and also about teaching it, which makes the lectures 100x more interesting. This class takes some effort, but was not at all stressful. Late work has no penalty and all assignments had a good reason (no filler). Reading can be tough but you don't have to understand it, just try.

He is very passionate about discussing all things philosophical and encourages any discussions outside of class. I feel as though having a crash course of philosophy before business ethics come in has been very hard to follow but he does his best with examples in real life to equate to the concept. I personally dislike philosophy, find it boring.

1 hr lecs, 5 days per week. His rubric completely undermines education and critical thinking because it favors mere attendance above actual substance. Nearly EVERYONE was confused about basic concepts even at the end of the quarter. Yes...he's available outside of class! And he will spend >=30% of ALL his lectures talking about just that. Ugh.

He is passionate about philosophy for sure. But almost every single sentence is full of academic tone that just goes on and on with no clarity. Attendance is required and is a big chunk of the grade. We are business students working with numbers. This class is useless to me and I can sense many students don't care about it either.

Tim is a passionate professor, but for me he goes on and on and doesn't give a clear rubric. For you to get an A in the class, you need to do good on the essay exams as they are a big chunk of your grade. Overall, wouldn't take him again, and does way too much for a 102 class.

If you are seeking easy points, this class will frustrate you. However, if you want to learn how to think, and not just memorize, Tim is the real deal. He provides you all that you need to succeed, and meets you halfway, or more. Be ready for a lot of reading, writing, reflecting, and growing. I'm taking his next class too.

6-7 hours of mandatory lectures every week (attendance grade). A lot of the course felt unorganized and confusing. Ton of reading. Wrote 2 papers. Was doing way too much for an intro class and somehow I still learned nothing. It was very unpleasant I don't recommend.
