Dr. Martin is the best professor I've ever taken at KSU. He is so knowledgeable and respectful and willing to help any student. Also, he is extremely laid back and understands that sometimes students are going to be late to class. He really tries his hardest to make sure every student learns, too! Awesome class!

He really knows what he is talking about and tries to make the class interesting. Tests were easy, because study guides were completed in class and VERY helpful. There are a lot of assignments, but this is meant to be a challenging class. No mandatory attendance, drops lowest test grade, and gives extra credit. Take him if you have the chance!

An absolutely amazing Professor. The class was very hard, because there was A LOT of reading involved. Tests are easy, as they come directly from the study guide. He is EXTREMELY helpful and is ALWAYS available. Do your work, turn it in on time and you will have an A. I never thought it would have been possible, but it is :) TAKE HIM!!!!

Class takes A LOT of effort, but he is extremely helpful if you go to his office. Read the assigned material, there WILL be a quiz next class over it, and the quizzes are hard.

Class is super hard but you have to take it for a psych major so I recommend taking it with him! If you fail its on you, he is willing to help with everything and is extremely clear on instructions. 4 tests, drops the lowest, many quizzes but over the same stuff usually. Youll do well if you come to class and actually try!

He seems intimidating and hard at first, but he is very helpful, and great at helping you to understand the material. He also cracks a lot of jokes, which can lighten up a 2hr45min class on statistics and research. I absolutely recommend him.

Great guy and great teacher! He's more than willing to help if you ask. The class was 3 hours but went by fairly quickly since you're working the entire time (he'll crack a few jokes and give a short break, usually). You'll have 4 quizzes over readings, 3 mandatory tests (plus an optional 4th), and a weekly HW assignment. He's tough on grammar!!

Dr. Martin is a fabulous professor. He goes out of his way to help, he makes study guides for the tests, grades tests in the same day, gets all of your work back to you immediately and offers extra credit. You have to read and go to class but that's typical for research methods.

There will be a quiz for each time there's a reading assignment. SO READ. Really helpful and will probably have extra credit assignments to help anybody out who isn't doing to well. Go to study sessions with the TA. He is extremely helpful and i would highly recommend him.

I love him! Gives extra credit! Very helpful with homework & other things you don't understand, just ask! He is kind of sarcastic but don't take it personal! Papers are short. Lectures are posted! & you probably need to purchase the book, especially the APA format book (very helpful). Quizzes & test are short; study, pay attention, ask for help!

Have anything you are unsure about? Just ask him and he will clarify it for you. He is very open to questions and doesn't make you feel dumb for asking. I would take him again. Expect to study for his exams (and he does drop a test). Don't miss class and do all the assigned homework and you'll do fine.

He is AMAZING!!!!!!! This class was hard but it made me appreciate psychology more. I learning my grade not earning it. This is hybrid and all lectures are online and labs are in class. He is funny and has an open door policy.

Research is hard but he gets you through it. Ask questions. Be read for quiz every week. If you watch the lectures you will be fine. Papers aren't long. He gives great study guide. Drops lowest test. You'll have to work but he is the best prof to take for this class. Don't be afraid of the hybrid aspect. It worked for me just fine. I got an A!

Dr. Martin teaches brutally difficult classes and is aware of how difficult his classes are. He is above and beyond helpful and truly cares about the education of his students. I took this class as a hybrid, lectures are recorded and online, the lab is in class. I wish I had taken research methods in the same format. One of my favorite professors.

He is AMAZING!!!! By far my favorite professor. I have learned SO much from him, and I reap the benefits in ALL of my psych classes, not just research methods and experimental. It can definitely be a challenging class but it will make you a better student and your psych skills will improve profoundly. Taking this class makes future classes easier.

If you want to REALLY AND TRULY learn something take him! If you plan on being lazy and just want to get by then i suggest not to take him. This class is already extremely hard however, he always helps if you need it. Will go over things you do not understand in class. I took this as a hybrid and loved it. A lot of work but he is willing to help. Do the study guide and you'll be fine.

I cannot tell you how this man changed my life. I'm getting ready to graduate with a minor in stat because of him, and I already have a job offer! Takes a while to get papers back, and his comments can be a little mean sometimes, but I took two more classes from him and you really do learn.

Love this man, he is genius. He truly cares about his students. He has a laid back teaching style as opposed to a really structured class but you will come out having learned what you should have. Take him he's my favorite professor at KSU,genuinely cares for his students and goes way out of his way to help them and frequently mentors students for graduate school. He is someone you should definitely take before you graduate. You earn your grade but he curves test and gives extra credit. Makes the stats part understandable for non math minds!

Dr. Martin is a brilliant teacher, but this class is NO JOKE. I made an A, but I really had to work for it - meeting with the TA, emailing back and forth with Dr. Martin, doing the extra credit, and studying like crazy. The tests are EXTREMELY DIFFICULT, but that's the nature of the material. I would recommend this class, but you have to work hard.

Failed this class with another professor, who didn't want to help out if you didnt understand something, but Dr. Tim was so patient, and really wants you to learn. I was worried I was never going to pass this class and have to change majors, but I passed thanks to him.

Bc of the nature of the class and bc it is a lab, you need to go to class for sure. Martin is a genuinely caring and cool professor. Class time passes quickly bc hes funny. I've taken Professor Martin 3 times now. He gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit. He curves all test grades and drops your lowest grade. He's really helpful. You can email him or go see him in his office if you have questions.

Tests: straight from the powerpoints, just attend. He post lecture slides but if you do not attend they do not make sense. Gives a study guide before each exam USE IT. You will only need your book to answer them sometimes. Research: complete 3 credits (so easy just answer a few surveys) TAKE PICS WHEN HE GOES OVER THE EXAMS AND PRE-TEST!!!!!!!!

Only grades are exams, online quizzes (for completion, not for accuracy) and discussion posts. Tests questions are more on the "applied" side rather than straight memorization, 6/10 in terms of difficulty in my opinion. Pretty much a B or C if you put in minimal to "some" effort. An A requires some work. Curves tests & gives extra credit!

I took the 4-week online summer class. 2 Tests, online quizzes, and discussion board (for completion grade). He offers extra credit also. His recorded lectures did put me to sleep but other than that I studied the powerpoints and completed the study guide to prepare for the tests. For the test you do need to understand the concepts to do well.

Tim is probably one of the funniest and most real professors I've ever had. I took the class online. There were 3 non lockdown tests, practice quizzes ( you have unlimited tries), and a pre/post assessment. Prof Martin is very knowledgable and is willing to help. He responds very fast to emails and overall made the class fun. would reccommend.

Dr. Martin breaks complicated topics down so their understandable. Hard tests but good review sheets that cover everything. Perception was not what I expected but great class anyway.

I failed this course with another professor and I thought my chances of understanding the material was very slim, until I took a face to face course with Professor Martin. Please be sure to sit in front of the class and ask all questions that are needed. There are very few assignments but he does give pop quizzes. He also gives good feedback.

The class itself is a difficult, boring class. He is a very sweet man. Responds quickly to emails. One mandatory book that reads more interesting than normal textbooks. 3 tough exams-he usually curves about 10 points, one chapter summary every week, and 5 pop up quizzes-Bonus: He lets you immediately "retake" after going over answers in class.

Amazing prof, take him! No textbook needed, he has a lecture video for every topic, all you have to do is watch it and take notes plus read an article and write a summary, which he doesn't grade for accuracy. best grading policy, gives you answers for quizzes, test grades curved so that the highest test grade is a 100. Honest, funny, responds to emails quite quickly, helpful, and caring. There is quite a bit of content, but if you pay attention and do a bit of studying, you'll do well in the class. He knows his stuff pretty well, so if you have any questions or need any help you can always go to him and ask. He is accessible inside and outside of the classroom.

There were 4 exams and you could drop the lowest grade (potentially not have to take the final) so make sure you study and do well on the first 3. To be completely honest, this is a difficult course. However, Professor Martin is a great teacher. He makes the class so that the information is a bit easier to understand. The exam study guides outline everything that can be on the test. 4 tests (lowest gets dropped), and the tests are curved. 10 quizzes and 10 article summaries (easy 100s).

Oh my goodness, Dr. Martin is an amazing professor! He answers emails quickly, has entertaining but impactful lectures, wants you to succeed, and is just a great person in general. Psychology isn't an easy subject, but he breaks it down in a way that's really easy to understand! And if you don't, he is always open to questions. Take him!

he doesnt take attendance but quizzes are given in the beginning of classes, you take it once by yourself, he reviews it and gives you the answers, and then you can take it again he only grades tests and quizzes

Prof Martin is not a bad guy. He will give pop quizzes after the completion of ppts but he gives the answers before the 2nd attempt. Note Heavy, tests are cumulative which I did not like. Must take tests and quizzes in class. Not an impossible class by any means but if your memory recall isn't great beware.

Dr. Martin is amazing! This class has difficult content and a lot of it so be prepared to work hard but he is great at teaching it. The cumulative tests are difficult, but he gives two chances on quizzes which is helpful. This was the hardest class in terms of content that I've ever taken. If it wasn't for Dr. Martin, I wouldn't have passed. In fact, I finished with a 100 in the class. The content of this class is hard and not fun and his tests are fairly hard, but 2 attempts on quizzes and gives u answers so easy. Had to read a book and do chapter summaries, also not hard...easy grader. Lots of material so def need to study for the tests but he does a curve. He is very laid back and can be funny. Don't stress, you will be fine!

I have never written a review on this site but I created an account just to say that Tim Martin is the best professor I've had in all four years at KSU. Pop quizzes but he goes through the answers and gives you a retake, study guides are exactly what you need for the tests, and his lectures are engaging and actually teach you stuff. 10/10.

Honestly, the course was very hard, but he made it to where we actually understood the concepts. Make sure you find good study methods or you will learn some in this class because it is CONTENT HEAVY! But, to make your life easier - take him. Pop quizzes, but gives you a second try on them!

Had him for a 4-week summer course. It was very manageable like 1.5 hours of work everyday (lecture+lecture summary/quizzes/readings). The tests were very similar to what we learned in lectures and the study guide he posts on d2l. He was lenient with late/incorrect submissions and he responds to emails quickly. He gave me a great intro to psych.
