If you want to learn the process of writing essays with a cool, down to earth teacher, with sense of humor then Mr. Maxwell is the one to take. We did about 4 essays. 1st one was 1 page, 2nd and 3rd were 3 pages and last one was 3 to 4 pages. He is smart, laid back and down to earth.

Maxwell is very cool and very funny. His teaching style mostly makes you teach yourself. He makes clear his political stance even though this is not a political science class.

Maxwell is an awesome teacher. super easy and you will actually learn how to write essays properly. i didnt think i was going to like his class but im currently in his class and its one of my favorites. definitely gets you thinking a little bit but he understands if you're having trouble. dont miss too many classes and you'll be fine with an A-/B+

MAXWELL is a must take teacher. He is easy although many complained. He prepared me for all my english classes and ended up receiving A's in them all. Fun and very laid back.

Professor Maxwell: Outstanding, amazing teacher, Integrity doesn't really get any much better. teaching methods truly help you how to think in this world filled with many deceptions. I got an A, but you have to work for it because he expects you to think about what you put onto your paper, and that is not that hard.

TAKE HIM.He is my favorite english teacher. Even if I do not have him now, we still keep in touch. His classes fill up fast. He is not that easy, but he will make the material easy. You will actually learn in this class.

HARD CLASS. but you actually learn something so its worth it. He will prepair you for the outside world and life.

He is a super nice guy. He is very helpful. Go to his office hours to talk to him and he'll be happy to help you. He grades fair. 4 essays and one group presentation. Take him.

I took him for English 848 and Creative Writing 1. In English he was a good professor, challenging his students to really think, and taking essay writing to a whole new level. Maxwell may not seem helpful during his lectures in class, but one on one, he's brilliant. He doesn't lecture much and puts us in groups which is what I enjoy the most. I hate listening to lectures the entire time. He's a great guy and a great teacher. You should definitely take him if you have the chance.

He is a nice guy and funny. If You do all of your work you will get a good grade. But it was kinda hard to understand what he wanted in our essays. During most of our class lectures all he made us do is get into groups and talk about our essays, i didn't learn anything from that just made friends. He also made us read two books at the same time.

He is a good teacher I took his class twice Eng 848 and 100 because I really learned from him. I made a good friendship too. He is fun but really grades hard. But that's how you really learn.

Maxwell is such a great teacher. He is passionate about what he's doing and he is very approachable. The lectures are always interesting, and he cares a great deal about his students. He is a little behind with paperwork, but other than that, he is engaging. As long as you read the stories, this class is very easy. I recommend Maxwell!

gretas teacher.. easy going and makes class fun but lacks greatly in returning your essays. i didnt knw what grade i had on any of the essays until after the semester.. overall his great, do your part and participate well and he will give you a fair grade.

I really enjoyed the books he selected for his American Lit class. It is VERY difficult to get an A. Poetry was lame but I understand it is part of literature and must be taught. Took way too long to grade papers and get them back to us (up to 2 months). He knows his stuff and if you love LIT I recommend you take his class.

He is certainly passionate for teaching students and helpful with essay drafts. Sure, he is a bit disorganized so keep all of your essays. Prepares you well for college writing!

He's great helped me figure out the essay process.BUT don't be shy or daydream! Trust me if your bold and pay attention, you'll be fine.

If you wanna save money, then this teacher is a good one. He still has you buy a few books but, but he makes sure they are cheap. He nice and friendly and will help you if you need it, but yes he is very disorganized. The subjects he talks about are very interesting and different. He makes you think outside of the box. I recommend him!

I took Professor Maxwell's class a while back & I think at that time he was new to CSM. Nonetheless, I still remember him. I enjoyed his classes, participation was a must in this class & he made sure EVERYONE participated. I remember some of his readings were difficult to understand, but he's very helpful.

Great teacher.

He's plenty helpful and very engaged. He's somewhat sarcastic , but he isn't too hard on students. He's not very consistent when it comes to returning graded work.

Honestly,as long as you hand in your essays on time,participate in class and invest some time in it, this is not only an easy but also a very interesting English 100 class.Obviously people who never show up or hand in essays late can't expect an A. If you show some interest and hand in you stuff on time, you're more than safe. Great teacher!!

Tim was helpful and insightful. He's passionate about his job and he cares about his students. If you can write a decent essay, you'll get an easy A. If not, he will spend hours making sure you LEARN to write a great paper. Those who say otherwise are lazy and don't understand why they're at school.

Tim Maxwell is a great professor, and I loved his class! Plan on working hard to earn your grade. He's super understanding, but not a pushover. If you want to kill time, this is not the class for you. If you are serious about learning, he will definitely invest the time teaching. His humor makes the class fun! He likes when students participate.

Very nice and patient teacher. You have to actually put some work in but as long as you try you will get a good grade. A little boring classes sometimes and pointless info sometimes but it was overall a good class.

Prof. Maxwell's lectures are very connecting to the audience. When writing an essay, he assigns you with a partner in the class and you both peer help each other. Most of the time, I am paired with someone who hasn't done the work. Working on your thesis and outline in class helps a lot. This class is where I made friends with all my class mates!

Took Tim's 848 class last semester and although he was slightly more organized, he still is a wonderful professor and I am glad I took him again. His ENG 100 course will make you think about and reflect on issues that you've probably never acknowledged before. Wants you to do well & is a good communicator when it comes to assignments & due dates.

Took Prof Maxwell for Eng 848/100 and he was very understanding and helpful. Always helped whenever you emailed him or requested office hours. Gives great feedback, but class can get boring sometimes

Professor Maxwell was a great English 100 teacher. His lectures were never boring and there was always something to learn. He is very kind and will help you with any problems/issues you may have. We had to write a lot of papers but he was very understanding about late submissions. I would surely take his class again.

He is a good professor, willing to help students revise essays and provided the chances to students get an extra credit. Before the final, he also gives the class times to review all the important knowledge and if you follow this steps , you will get a B at least.

Professor Maxwell, is very caring and will help students if you are willing to do the work. If you're behind with an assignment don't give up on it; finish it and go to his office hours. Also, go to the writing center sometimes he'll personally be there to help you with your essay.

He is unorganized with assignments and be prepared to read and write. However, he just wants his students to care, he ALWAYS accepts late work if you talk to him, he is the kindest and he wants you to pass and reach your full potential. If you're not a good student or doesn't care, then its not the best option for you. The best teacher I've met.

Genuinely, tim might be one of the best professors i have ever had in my life. He isnt just a professor, he is a mentor and a cheerleader and therapist. He puts so much effort into meeting students where they at while pushing them to meet their fullest potential. You will only fail if you dont try, but thats not on him.
