Before taking this class, I was praying to pass w/ a C. Now I recieved a 98% in his class. ITS SOOOOO EASY AND CHILL! Exams are open book or else done at home. HES SUPER NICE AND HELPFULL. Hes also the only teacher that made me want to rate!

He is a supernice teacher, always willing to help his students. His class is also fun and enjoyable too. The only thing is he spend too much time talking about computer's history, internet security, or other stuff and then rush to Excel and Access which are more important, hopefully he spends more time on Excel'n Access in future class.

He is the nicest teachers that i ever have. Not only does he willing to help his students, he also allow his students to turn in assignments late without marking the points down. His class is super easy. If you want to boost up your GPA, then this class is a must take. I recommend to anyone. Take him, you will nver regrets.

Easy class, learned a few tricks in Office. He's pretty clear on how to do things, even if you're a beginner. One of my favorite teachers.

Excellent professor who likes his job and willing to help out anybody. You will learn many information about the the technology and how computer works. Class is easy if you show up and willing to learn. As long you do the required work, guaranteed easy "A". Try really hard and get all the points you can, you don't need to take the final exam!

Murphy is an extremely helpful professor with a lot of patience. He does accept late homework, very late homework. Very easy to get questions answered outside the classroom, through his email 7 days a week. loves his job

If you go to class and follow what he does on your own computer, then you should get an A. Really easy class if you follow directions!!! He's a good teacher and really helpful. THERES NO OTHER WAY TO SAY THIS CLASS IS REALLY EASY. Half our class didn't have to take the final cuz we all had A's. Highly recommendable to everyone. EASY A!!!!

There are lots of in-class assignments so attendance is necessary. You will rack up a lot of easy points just by doing these easy assignments and might not have to take the final like 90% of my class. 2/3 books are used (i didn't have to use the first one). He is a very good teacher and lecturer. Easy A.

Mr. Murphy is a great professor for anyone wanting to learn about web page design, flash, movie making, etc. He is very informative on his subjects and always spends extra time to help you out. And he is very patient with you. I have learned so much in his class, that I want to take every class he has ever taught. You cannot go wrong in his class!

Very easy and lay back. He doesn't mind you surfing the net if you know the material as long as you don't disturb the class.

Great Teacher

A must take for CS 111 or any of the others. Very very nice Professor, def. willing to help you out with any problems you have. Alot of in-class assignments but he pretty much goes through them with you. Easy A with a little bit of studying for the test. If you dont get a good grade in this class, theirs something wrong wtih you.

Really easy to understand. Very clear on instructions and is always willing to stay later after class for any questions. Only a few projects to complete outside of the textbook exercises, but are fairly simple. Does not use Windows XP book from the package. Lectures and tests are based on practical functions of programs in the real world.

One of the best instuctors for anyone wanting to learn web page design (DW), flash, etc. He is very informative in his explanations,and always spends extra time helping students. I have learned so much useful information in this class. I would take any class he is teaching. One of the best OCC instructors around! EXCELLENT!!

Very good and easy teacher! What's nice is that although he's very easy, unlike other easy teachers, you learn alot from him about the fundamentals of the computer which would help out those future programmers and computer engineers! Those who are planning to major in computers and are first year students, take him first. Really good teacher!

The class is really REALLY easy. If you do the work you're guaranteed an A. But you have to do all the work. He gives you time in class to do the work also.

Very knowledgeable teacher. U will learn many things. There will be class work, quiz, easy project, and hw. Be sure to follow direction and do them ALL and get good score. Exams are tough, try to get at least D or C, BUT not to worry, other assignments worth so much points that it outweight the test to the point that u A the class and skip final.^^

this class is super easy BUT it comes with a lot of work! Attendance is MANDATORY cuz of the many projects that is due all in one class session but if u follow along...you then just turn what u have! most of the class gets As and hes so helpful to those that doesnt really know how to use computers...by far the BEST class i had so far at OCC!!

Tim Murphy is a really good teacher....the class is boring in the beginging all your test are open book witch you can find all your answers easily in the index and during the Access part you have in class assignments that are really easy but you have to show up to get full credit....really easy and sometimes fun =)

SUPER EASY CLASS! But it's NOT one of those super easy ones where you're not learning anything. Class is fun. Open book tests (online, too). Most of us didn't have to take the Final. Attendance is mandatory for in-class projects. Con: Must have Project Books!

Professor Murphy really cares about his students. He is extremely patient and takes the time to help everyone keep up in class. Fun class that helps in the real world.

Great teacher! I'm taking his class currently and I love it! He does like to talk about his life but its really interesting. I love how clear his instructions for assignments are and that you can access them anytime online. He also gives you plenty of time to complete assignments. Very easy A if you enjoy the class and try on projects.

Professor Murphy is AWESOME! Very easy class as long as you complete the projects that are assigned. Attendance is mandatory and you learn how to use excel and other database programs. I recommend this class for an easy A.

Very helpful with questions. You can get by without buying the textbook packet, just use online companion website, but you will need to buy $75 MYITLAB account.

Such an easy class. All tests are open book. Don't really need to buy the bundle textbook package, but it is helpful. He knows what he's talking about. He is a nice man, but I felt like passing out every time I was in the class. Super boring if you don't care about computers all that much. Recommend the class for an easy A

Great teacher, learned alot. As long as you attend class, you get extra credit just for copying his instructions of the overhead. Most of us had grades so high that we didn't need to take the final. 3/4 of the class had over 100%

One of the best professors at OCC. I've taken all four of his classes with CIS 111, 112, 132,and 232 and got all A's. He makes class very enjoyable and fun. He actually teaches you tools you can use with computers. Not a hard grader and loves answering questions. If you want easy credit for transferring and want to learn something cool take him.

Seriously. Take Murphy. He's super passionate about what he teaches, is super clear about directions. Seriously show up to class and DO WHAT HE SAYS and you'll be fine. He offers extra credit on everything INCLUDING the in class projects, so make sure you're there. I didn't think it would be fun but he made it enjoyable and I learned a lot.

Super friendly & helpful guy. Really easy to learn from if you pay attention and follow along. You learn about Powerpoint, Microsoft Office programs, Adobe, and Photoshop. There's in-class work as well as mini assignments due before you leave that don't take very long. There's some easy HW assignments as well. One final PPT presentation for final.

One of the best teacher ever! He is also so friendly and helpful. In first weeks he gave lectures about computer and IT, and then after midterm(open book)you will start to learn Access, Excel,and Photoshop.If you do all the projects correctly, you don't need to take finals.+ you have bunch of extra credit for projects. Highly recommended!

Honestly the best teacher you could honestly ask for! He tries to be funny and keep the class alive. He teachers you a bunch of tech savvy stuff you wouldn't know about. Just attend every class and do the homework and you'll have an A ! 1 final 1 midterm, class assignments and hw. A really enjoyable class!

He is one of the most helpful and patient teacher! Attend the class and do the projects. You have a Midterm, but final is not mandatory if you get an A during the semester. He works on Access, Excel, and Photoshop. Best teacher and highly recommended!

BEST CLASS EVA. I loved this class and I love, love Professor Murphy. He made a 3-hour class feel like nothing. He makes you really engaged, gives great life advices, and shares stories! Come to class early and follow whatever he does in lecture and you're good to go. Never miss a class because you'll lose out on points AND a good time. Seriously.

I love Mr. Murphy ! He's helpful and patient and I actually looked forward going to his class. If you follow directions and do all your assignments you will get a good grade also don't be afraid to ask him questions he always does his best to answer them :)

This class is A LOT of fun and is very interesting. Can move slow at time because he is extremely patient and will make sure that every student is getting it. If you catch on quickly then you can easily work ahead when things begin to slow down for other students. He is very willing to work with you and WILL NOT let you fail!

This class is very interesting and you will use many different Adobe products. Tim is extremely patient with slower students and makes sure to get everyone through the class successfully. I enjoy going to this class each week and will be taking another of his classes next semester.

He's the best professor at OCC! You will learn A LOT from him.

Mr Murphy is the best teacher at Occ! He is the most caring teacher and because of him I want to pursue a career in the computertechnology department.

Caring professor that will show you how to proficiently run programs, excel and access. Helps you with any problem you have with your hw/projects that you would be doing. Gives so much extra credit that it's impossible to not pass the class. Would recommend murphy for anyone!

Amazing teacher. Very nice and very helpful. There are in class projects, 1 mid term, and 1 final (if you have an A in the class then you don't have to take the final). If you love computers then you'll love his class. He is very knowledgable and is very experienced. There are a lot of weirdos that take this class tho.

Professor Murphy is an excellent professor. He is very fair and extremely patient. No question is not worth asking. You will learn so much from his class. It's very interesting technology you learn about and he uses the latest industry standards in what he instructs on. He teaches stuff the is useful. Sadly his house just burned down (but he's ok).

Tim is a great professor and he's really funny and nice. During the first half of the course, it's lecture heavy BUT the second half of the course is all in-class activities. Don't skip out on the last 8 weeks of class; you will fall behind and be confused at the assignments. If you do attend, it's an easy A.

Go to class and receive an A. That simple. Endless opportunity to receive extra credit to make up for tough test. Not going to say it's an east A because you're required to learn the material. However, he makes it incredibly simple and easy. You'd have to be troubled in the head to not take Mr. Murphy. His patients are impeccable. AMAZING PROF.

Professor Murphy is one of the best professors I've had at OCC. First 8 weeks of class are just lectures, however, the last 8 weeks he teaches you how to use the software so you do not want to skip class. Homework is easy and straightforward. Professor Murphy is hilarious and actually teaches us stuff that is applicable to the workplace.

If I had taken him in my first year, I would've changed my major to Info Systems. He's a fantastic professor with a deep understanding and lots of field experience and anecdotes to help you understand the content. Be aware that HE SPEAKS QUICKLY, but don't be afraid to raise a hand ask questions, even if you think you're interrupting the class.

He is amazing! His lecture was fast but it was not related to the exams so we didn't need to listen and memorize all of them. However, his lecture was interesting. We had several exams which were open book and hard, but doing extra credit helped us a lot. Even if you take bad score, you can get A finally. Then, you don't need to take Final exam.

Do you know the feeling you get when you finish a really good tv show or movie? The emptiness and sadness I felt when it was the last day of class was something I never thought i would feel. Professor Murphy was a wise man, full of knowledge and willing to share it all to the world. Every class felt like an episode of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.

I would recommend to take Professor Murphys 111 class. He is such an incredible professor that Ive had. Actually, he just gave total of 3 tests, the rest of the assignments were software projects which were really easy if you do it completely.

Prof Murphy is a true gem at OCC. You can tell he is so passionate about what he teaches and it makes you genuinely excited to come to class! He is very straightforward with his expectations. The first half of the semester is lecture heavy, second half is when you learn how to use the programs. Overall, could not recommend him enough!

Professor Murphy's Comp Info Systems class was possibly my favorite class this semester. If you are a technology nerd you will absolutely enjoy his lectures. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Would absolutely consider taking another one of classes just for fun.
