He's a great teacher and the class is pretty easy if you study your study guides for the tests. You get three tests but if you score low on one test he will drop the lowest grade and you can take an additonal test, but it consists of the entire course.

My favorite course so far, and an easy A. Murphy's class is almost like junior high revisited. He's a friendly, easygoing guy who teaches a bunch of POL 101 courses each year. He gives study guides for all 3 exams, which are pretty much 100% inclusive. For your GPA's sake, please take Dr. Murphy.

Great teacher! All of his lecture notes are put on a projector and he gives a study guide before all of his tests and goes over any questions the students may have. Tests are very similar to the study guide questions. Don't buy a book, all the information is provided in his lectures.

I really enjoyed his Comparative Government class. He has a very casual manner and his policies are very fair. He explains everything clearly and he will add plenty of details if you ask. This was an easy class however I learned a lot and gained a much better grasp of foreign politics.

I took Mr. Murphy's Comparative Government class and found it highly stimulating. It is fascinating to learn about the different governments of the world as compared to our own. We missed some major regions but covered all of the crucial ones. Dr. Murphy is very knowledgable and friendly. He is one of the better professors I have ever had.

If you want an easy A go to all of his lectures, write down the powerpoint presentation and fill out the study guide! Done! I also liked listening to him. Interesting class.

Awesome teacher. You have to go to class everyday because he doesn't offer the power point on line and that is where he gets his info. He gives a study guide but wont just give out the answers during the review. Take good notes and write down his examples and little stories that he talks about because those show up on the exams.

I remember falling asleep in his class because he kept going on and on. But I have to admit that he was a really good teacher. I never thought that I could learn so much about our government in one summer.

Attendance is a must! Study guides for the exams are essential and the answers come directly from the lecture and a little bit of the book. Three exams with an optional final to replace one of the exams to boost your grade.

Dr. Murphy is very helpful and approachable. The class mainly alternates between PPt lectures and a documentary series. Three exams (one optional) and an 8-page paper (or two 4-pagers). Textbook was rather pricey and wasn't used much other than for exams. I recommend this class if you're interesting in learning more about the subject.

He uses power point and the clicker. The clicker is used to vote during class. It's a fun and unique way of getting the class to participate. All you have to do is show up to class take good notes and study them when u get home. Before the exams he gives you a study guide based on the notes. I definitely recommend him!!!

Took online poli sci 101. Really easy and very little homework. Most writing is just your opinion. Read the book, answer the study guide, and get an A. Write a short paragraph once a week is basically the only homework.

i just took his online hybrid course for political science 101 and it was very easy. there are 4 meetings you must attend, 3 one page essays that are very easy and straight forward. there are 3 tests but he gives you the study guide only a week before the test which is kind of a bummer. just read the book and try to take notes as best as you can

I took his online class,very easy. Just answer the weekly question, and all the answers to the study guide are in his power point notes. Memorize the study guide, and you'll do great. Three paragraph essays and that's it! Must attend the meeting classes!

His class is really easy. For attendance he makes use a clicker to answer questions on the screen. With the cliker you get points and they help your grade a lot. He doesnt assign hw. For the exam he gives you a study guide, and its exactly whats on the test. Just me memorize the study guide and you'll pass the test.

Dr. Murphy is an awesome teacher. His class is easy if you study. He gives you a study guide that you have to fill-in using your class notes and there are some parts that require you to look for the answer in your book, but the answers are easy. Show up to class, and fill-in your study guide and study it, and you will get an A.

I had recently just taken the summer course 2013 and I would like to say this class is really boring. He drags on and on during lectures and has clicker questions throughout class, but the only ones that counts is the start and end of class. Great Professor! The course may be difficult for some students, but the study guides and clicker questions are very helpful. The optional comprehensive final exam helps bring the grade up. If you passed the 3 first exams, you don't have to take the final. Most students usually have to take the final exam. If you don't have to, good for you. :)

Dr. Murphy is so conscientious with his lectures and explanation of questions from students. He doesn't have a good sense of humor but he tries to make the class more relaxing when POLT turns outta be quite hard. Powerpoints make his lectures easier to understand. Attendance is 1/4 of the grade! A must-take! Read the textbook and you'll pass!

Dr. Murphy is a great professor and I wish I would have taken him for the regular course and not hybrid. Three tests, comprehensive exam is optional and he'll take that score and drop your lowest test grade. Assigns three essays, but they are mostly opinion based and pretty easy. He was really kind, helpful, and made sure everyone was on track.

Very straightforward class. Three 100 point multiple choice exams, and one optional final. 10 discussion board questions worth 5 points each. Lectures get posted on blackboard along with study guide a few days before each exam. Did not buy or use textbook at all. Nice man, always at least 5-10 minutes late to 8 am lecture so take your time.

His class is very straight forward. graded off participation and 4 exams. He gives clear study reviews do those and pass exams. He drops your lowest exam so its graded off 3 exams and participation. His lectures are all that is needed to pass the class.

Mr. Murphy seemed like a very nice person, I didn't really get as acquainted because I took the hybrid class it goes by fast. There is not a lot homework, we focused on the tests. There are 3 test made up of 50 questions each, make sure you follow the rules otherwise he knocks out 5 points off your score. Good luck!

Hes a great professor. You can tell that hes very passionate about what hes teaching. His lectures are a bit long and you really have to study for his test. The essays arent long at all usually just a paragraph so thats nice.

Professor Murphy is a great professor. Most of his class consists of lecture. However, at the beginning and end of class, he gives the class a review question which you NEED to be in class to answer. If you dont do it, you lose participation points every class meeting. IT WILL ACCUMULATE. And DO go to class every lecture for notes. Thats huge.

Don't take this class with any distracting friends. You will have a very difficult time. He puts all his powerpoints online, but he does not talk about it so I didn't realize it till 3/4 of the semester had gone by. If you study and pay attention, you'll be fine.

He gives you a study guide with exactly what's going to be on the test and offers you to take an optional exam to make up for your lowest exam score. Make sure to participate in Poll Everywhere that is where the majority of your points will come from. Extremely easy class, take him!

this professor is very good if you are going to take him then I suggest you pay attention to the powerpoints and ask lots of questions if you do not understand anything as well as studying a lot. we do not use the book as much but you still use it for tests. but it is not a hard class and he gives you many chances to pass his class.

I took his online zoom class this semester and I have loved having him! His powerpoints include basically everything that you need to know for the exams. There are only about 3 exams that count for the majority of your grade but as long as you look over them before the test you will be fine. Definitely recommend its an easy A!

Very good professor. He gives the students a lot of opportunities to succeed in class by giving you extra credit. There are three tests which are multiple choice, 50 questions, 100 points. Professor Murphy does not give many homework and gives you the time to read the textbook on your own. Also, he offers a lot of extra credit on your assignments. The essay we had to write was very easy.

Does not accept late work (including exams). So do all the hw assignments on time and exams! There's a discussion post every week worth 4 points and you can easily get extra credit for them (anywhere from 4.25 to 4.50). There is only one opinion essay (one page or less). There are 4 exams, he drops the lowest score, and you can only take them once.

When I took my class with professor Murphy, I learned a lot. As an immigrant, there are a lot of things that I didnt understand. His class thought me a lot, from Bill of Rights and other part of the Constitution. I recommend prof Murphys class if you wanted to learn.

His class was pretty simple for the most part. Just really heavy graded based on just the 3 exams he gives you throughout the 8 week course. He does give a comprehensive essay near the end of the course to replace any bad score you got on any exam. Focus on the study guides and read on topics you don't understand. I recommend this course.

Professor Murphy's class is straightforward if you stay on top of the material. The exams are the main focus, but Unstuck ai and reviewing the study guides can really help with preparation. An easy A if you put in the work.

Easiest class I've ever taken, professor gives a lot of extra credit.

Super easy class, just stay on top of things. Exams are worth a lot but he easily guides you and tells you what needs to be learned in order to pass.

There are absolutely ZERO assignments in the class besides exams. Dr. Murphy will give you readings for the week throughout the class, and then you will simply take an exam after each section. There are roughly 3 exams and no other assignments. Meaning that you will have to do excellent on these exams if you want a chance at a good grade.
