He was my favorite English teacher. The class was very easy.
Tim managed to take a subject I absolutely hate and turn in into something I really enjoyed this quarter. Highly recommended
He is very helpful with the assignments. He takes the time to explain what is expected and if available to support you. I would highly recommend taking English from him.
I had Tim for the research paper english class, which nobody likes, and even though Tim didn't make it that much more fun (plenty of people were still falling alseep in class) he did make it feel like it was a breeze to write a research paper, and it has been ever since I've had him.
Great instructor! He is available to review your assignments before you are required to turn them in. He will make suggestions and answer any questions. I can't say enough good things about his teaching style. He makes writing understandable.
He is a great teacher who knows what he is doing and is willing to go over papers with you before they are turned in for a grade. He is very helpful.
Very concise...but the class was great! We just watched movies
Very clear and helpful. I can't imagine anyone having a hard time in his course.
He is the best english professor you could possibly get! His class is so interesting and you learn so much. He is so helpful and understanding that it makes this class fun.
Tim changed my life. Because of him, I began to write in a new genre with excitement and a passion that was never there before. He is great to talk to after class and offers so much encouragement that I damn near thought he was going to adopt me!

Tim is the best, you will regret not taking him. He is really laid back yet wants to see you succeed. I found him very helpfull and got an A in his class.
He keeps the class very interesting and usually short and sweet.
great guy, class always out early, would reccomend takin him, had a great time in his class, i plan on taking him for 112
I think he was a good professor. He's laid back and helpful if you need him. I also thought he was a pretty easy grader. I got a B on the research paper and I wrote it the night before it was due...
Great teacher. Very laid back and willing to help you with any assignment, including letting you revise your papers for a better grade. He usually lets class out early, and sometimes you even get to eatch a movie.I plan on taking his 112 class.
Eng 112 is supposed to be a nightmare for students and Tim made it ridiculously easy. He's very casual, laid back, and puts minimal pressure on the students. I received an A on everything except one assignment I did 10 minutes before class and obviously didn't deserve one. If I could afford it, I'd take other classes of his just for fun. TAKE HIM!
Tim was the greatest english professor. I enjoyed his style of teaching he is fair to every student that is in his class. He is clear and to the point on assignments. I would recommend to students to take ENG-111 and 112 from Tim. I am disappointed that he is not currently teaching ENG-113 he is truly a professional.
I enjoyed this class since Professor Waggoner was up front about writing the "research" paper. If you are a student that struggles with writing papers you should take Professor Waggoner's class. Majority of Sinclair students say English-112 is so hard. I found the class to be easy thanks to Professor Waggoner.
he is willing to help anyone who needs it
he was the best eng teacher ever..... i know im going to take his next class it was that good and fun
Professor Waggoner is one of the best English professors that I have had at Sinclair so far. He made English 112 very easy and was willing to stay after class to help. If you need to take English 112 I highly recommend Professor Waggoner!
Great Teacher! Class was fun and pretty easy. He was very helpful and very easy going. Definately take his classes if you can.
I wish all professors were like him! It was so nice for once to go to class because it was fun, it wasn't pressuring and he's such an interesting guy! You should read one of his 50 books he's written, they're good! I wish he would rub off on some of my other professors...
AMAZING teacher. very easy and extrememely nice. He really wants to help his students and is willing to make an effort if you are. Definately take him!!!!!
Tim is the best English professor I've ever had. He is a very laid back, lenient & helpful professor. I hate English but I enjoyed his classes. I had him for 111 & 112. I sooo wished he was teaching ENG 113 but he wasn't. Anyone would be silly to not take his classes. He has lots of teaching experience & real life industry work. It's awesome.
Tim, as you can see from the comments, was the best teacher sinclair ever had, so they ran him off. If you are just starting at Sinclair, get out. It's a sinking ship. The average graduation rate is 7 years. It's true. Look it up. You could get a masters in that time.
Waggoner is a great person as well as a fantastic professor. I took Horror Fiction and came back for both his Creative Writing classes (no formal English; I suffered Susan Callendar). I cannot commend him highly enough. He's laid back and helpful, has real experience as a published author, and effortlessly creates a comfy learning environment. :)
GREAT PROFESSOR!!!!
Great teacher, I usually don't like english but he made it fun.
Well I've had Tim for almost five classes and I'd have to say he's one of my favorite professors. He's a really great teacher and will always try and help you with your writing, even if you're completely hopeless. He doesn't want you to work long nights for a three credit hour couse. If you're a good writer you'll coast through his class. Have fun!
This guy is awesome. would recommend to anyone. he is always late to class and lets out early. easy grader and is pretty helpful. if you want to get an a in english take this dude
i hate english but i really did enjoy this class. very nice and great professor. :-)
Great English teacher! Makes English Easy!
By far the best professor I have had. Gave step by step instructions for all assignments. Was very encouraging and supportive. Always seemed to have the students best interests at heart. If you get a poor grade in this class then you deserved it. This was the class I was dreading the most and ended up being the one I most appreciated.
I hate english. he made english easy and fun. A really good teacher and he helps you with your paper. Not much homework besides journals and papers. I recommend him.
One of the 2 best teachers i have ever had. Very encouraging and very caring. He is the kind of instructor that makes you want to go to class. I thank him.
Wow!Today was my last english class with Prof.Waggoner. Tim is probably the best professor on the planet.I loved being in his class and all the discussions we had.Tim do not change for anyone. He was helpful and kind and truly cares about his students. He read all our work and graded if fairly.
very good teacher
Tim has made English great for me.He is so willing to work with everyone. I told him in the begining of the quarter English is not my friend it is now.Tim you rock he is the best professor i have every hard for English
He is my favorite professor ever!
Fair professor, classes are easy as long as you do the work right and put effort into it. You cant write a horrible paper and expect him to give you a good grade. Easy class as long as you complete the work, he explains everything in class.
Great Prof! Very helpful and very straight forward. Understands people and is very real. Definately recommend him.
Makes class fun and interesting; likes himself and yes, plugs his stuff; still a great prof and very few people ever missed class b/c he does actually teach. Don't expect returned e-mails or out-of-class meetings if you need additional help, though.
Very good professor that will answer questions and give guidance to a good degree.
He is the best teacher......
Very laid back and good teacher, all you could ask for as an english teacher.
Great teacher and easy going. he helps you in your writing so that you can suceed in his class. Tim was a great English teacher and i would recommend him for anybody.
He thinks he's Robert Frost or something... Talks about what a pro he is how he has an agent and gets published and paid, etc...
He is a very good professor! Very understanding and helpful...I actually enjoy english now because of his class (because I understand it better).
Great teacher, friendly guy. Creates a very encouraging teaching environment. Lenient and helpful with assignments. Highly recommended.
Very kind and helpful.
This class was a breath of fresh air. You get so relaxed in his class you actually enjoy learning poetry. I know right? I definitely recommend Tim especially those with high GPA's. He is fair almost to a fault. A+
This is not a class for slackers. He keeps you on your toes, he lets you do revisions on papers except the final (for obvious reasons). Do the papers, journals and participate in class you have an A. Great teacher!
My kind of Professor. He is honest with you and that makes you want to be a better writer. He really helped me improve my writing skills. Thanks Tim.
He is great teacher I love his class
He is great...He never makes you feel stressed about things and is willing to help with anything. Show up for class write your papers and journals and even after he grades them, dont like your grade? He corrects it and all you have to do is fix it and reprint Piece of Cake!!!! Will remind you of a stoner hahaha cause he is so laid back and calm....

Always helpful, very nice and also very understanding of any circumstances you encounter.
I hated English but he made it easy and was very helpful with any questions I had.
He is the best teacher! I've had him as a teacher for two classes now (creative writing electives) and he was great in both. We had several assignments but they were fun and not too difficult. He gives us extra time to complete assignments. We never had tests. His lectures were interesting and he is a very nice guy. I highly recommend taking him!
Published author working as a professor at Sinclair? Awesome. Can drone on a little during lecture in class, but is very helpful with any questions you may have about his papers. Lets you rewrite the first paper if you choose to so you can get used to his grading style. Easy to get A papers if you get his feedback often.
Great teacher who makes writing fun and interesting! Take him if you have the chance.
A broad range of papers both assigned and accepted. Extremely fair grading, and eager to offer assistance and give examples. A bit of humor in the class as well. Fun class to attend, and you get something out of it.
Awesome guy. He is very laid back. He gets to be boring sometimes if you already know what you are doing. He is an easy grader.
Useless. Arrogant. All he did was read powerpoints. He was late everyday. I do not recommend!
He's laid back and casual about everything in class which improves his approachability when questions need to be asked. He is willing to help if you need help. He gives plenty of time for assignments and states their due dates, but is lenient when asked. Gives plenty of workup time for the major assignment of the class.
Took Tim for Eng 259 [Writing the Novel]. Fun class.. if anything I think we could have covered MORE material. You do two novel chapters, an outline, and a novel proposal (outline + cover letter, basically). He's friendly, helpful, and approachable. Don't listen to that guy down below who keeps posting the same bad review over and over again. xD
Great prof to take for English writing courses, especially 113. very easy grader and will tolerate a few absences (within the limits dictated by the syllabus) Reading is ideal and discusses all materials in class. sign up early if you want this professor, he fills up fast!
I loved the class!!!!
Tim is awesome. He defiantly teaches you how to put together a good paper. I highly recommend and especially for short term classes.
This was my third time taking him and while acedemic wise he was good, this specific class (lit) I felt had too many tangents in it and I didn't feel like I was learning that much. Our papers I felt were overly easy, but he's a good guy and would offer assistance, just I'm not sure how hard it was graded. Overall good, but maybe too easy.
Tim Waggoner is an excellent, approachable teacher. Just because he states that he will not read work that's not required for class does not make him arrogant, it makes him focused. He's a very approachable guy and explains things well if you have a question.I've taken two classes with him so far, and I am very impressed tohave a published teacher!
He is pragmatic, uses common sense, and is very patient and encouraging. He also submitted one of my stories to a contest for me without asking when I had no confidence in my work, and I won first prize. A good class to take to keep you writing, learning the basics, and getting some feedback. He knows what he's doing. Also he's funny.
Great teacher/guy. Helped me a lot in class and on papers. I would definitely recommend him.
Tim is a great professor. I took him summer short term. He is very helpful and patient. Highly recommend taking him.
I have taken Professor Waggoner three times and will have him three more times before I graduate. Every professor at Sinclair could learn from him. He is witty and keeps the learning process fun. He is engaging and smart. He knows his stuff. Sinclair is lucky to have him. He's just wonderful!
He's awesome.
Great teacher! One of my favorite English Professors!
I have had two bad ebglish teachers in a row so proff waggoner was a breath of fresh air! He is lax about turning in assignments, he's clear in what he wants in a paper and grades accordingly, he's funny too. He's a great proff to take!
Had him for ENG112 too, and if I had to take another English class I would take him again. Very clear and relatable with his lectures, covers most of the material but does leave some extras out if time is short. Sparks very good class discussions. If you can write in decent English and understand the assignments, you can get As from him easily.
Very friendly teacher. I loved going to his class. Comes in a bit late, but we used those minutes to read each other's work and talk about writing. Very enjoyable. For those who love writing it's an easy A. I hope Sinclair starts offering advanced fiction writing (short stories). Would love to take it with same professor! Thanks Tim!
Tim is a pretty awesome guy, however, he only showed up on time to class twice the entire semester. There were even days that he didn't show up until the class was half over. I also sent him several emails throughout the semester and he NEVER responded to them. He says the best form of contact is email, but he never responds to them.
He was 10 minutes late almost every day, but we always had enough time to cover all the material. The 10mins gave us all a few minutes to add last minute touches. He makes class entertaining and will do anything to make sure his students pass. If I ever have to take an english class again Mr.Waggoner would be the only professor I would consider.
He was at least 15 minutes late for almost every class. Finally, the class took bets as to when he was going to show up. The one who was closest got the pot of dollars we pitched. Didn't show up for 2 classes, and never told us class would be canceled. He gave little help with writing, and gave NO feedback with final portfolios. A total waste.
He is one of the finest professors at SCC. You will learn if you listen. His grading is consistent, and helpful on your papers. He gives you opps to improve on poor work. His knowledge about writing, creativity, genres, and publishing is above efficient.
Tim is pretty consistently 10 minutes late, but that's kind of nice if you ask me. Extremely laid back, but he explains everything very clearly. He's to the point and lets you know everything you really need to for a given lecture in about the first fifteen minutes, so if you need to leave early you can. Do the work completely, get a good grade.
Tim was never late to my class, I just want to throw that out there because I saw that a lot on here. His class was great. Laid back, I missed an assignment and he let me make it up with no hesitation. If you know what you are doing, you don't even need to come to class. Just turn your stuff in. Take his class if you can!
One of Sinclair's finest professors if not the best. He has a laid-back approach to teaching that doesn't cross as lazy, he is more than willing to give detailed examples and help with any difficulty on assignments. His assignments are simple yet effective with with teaching you valuable writing skills. Plus, he's just a really cool dude.
Issues getting final grades put in so I got acedemicly dissmed due to grades not in on time :(
I dropped the class after 2 days of attending. When he talks to the class it reminded me of the guy who does the "Red Eyes Commercial". He is not upbeat or Enthusiastic and I feel like sleeping. I didn’t take the class because I could not pay attention at all and it was only 50 mins long.
I thought Professor Waggoner gave respect to students. It wasn't like he was trying to be your friend, but not trying to be your parent, it was a great balance of him just being nice and able to talk to, he was always helpful, all you have to do is ASK.
He's very great on giving feedback on assignments and want you to at least at something you said you couldn't do. He's very positive, but he has one flaw and that's his lectures... his voice is just dry. Its awesome overall and very easy if you just do the work you'll pass!
Super nice guy, more like your favorite uncle than a professor. Not sure I learned anything but I enjoyed his class, he makes it a relaxed atmosphere. I would have to say he was always, always late. Seriously, he never was in the room until 10 minutes after class started. Still gotta like the guy!
Laid-back, respectful, kind, helpful, but low energy. Lectures were rare but a bit boring; they went over stuff that most people would've learned in high school. Having said that, I would highly recommend him.
Great professor.
Really good teacher. Very helpful. I wish all of my teachers were like him!
Amazing professor, Gives really good Feedback on Papers.
Waggoner is cool like a puff of smoke, he rolls with the punches and really understands that each student has a life outside of class. He's really hard to get a hold of by email, but he makes up for it by being incredibly forgiving. Just do the work and he'll pass you. He will give pointed critique if you ask for it, but just all around chillguy.
He is a great teacher he will take time to make sure you understand the assignments however he is usually running a bit late.
Tim is the easiest professor I've ever had, which is why I'm also taking him next semester. He is very empathetic and understanding, and developing writing skills is more important to him than deadlines. Also, if you're really good, you can work at your own pace and finish the class early. He is also naturally funny, and very intelligent. Easy A+
The material itself is pretty dull. Professor often covered the same material several times. Very thorough and explained the methods and expectations of assignments well. Solid educator. Would recommend.
Tim is excellent at giving feedback. He seems genuinely invested in his student's writing. His assignments aren't too heavy. He's lenient on attendance and deadlines. He's really bad at giving work back on time and he can be tardy to class most days, but overall he's a good teacher. This was my second class with him. Hopefully I'll take another.
One of the best teachers in the English filed. He gives you good feedbacks and he really cares about students. Also a good thing about him , he understands you have many works so turn your paper any time. Good for Students specificly International Students. All the best Professor.
Prof Waggoner was hands down one of the best prof I have ever had. he was flexible with all of the writing assignment due dates & understood that things happen. he gives good feedback & obviously cares about his students. I took him for english 1 and 2 passed with a high A both times. He is super funny & tries to get class out as early as possible.
Tim was a wonderful professor! Very easy to talk to if you needed to ask a question, and very clear with his feedback on drafts so you knew what to change before you turned it in. He definitely wanted his students to succeed, and was very willing to work with you if you were a bit behind to get you back on track. Id highly recommend him!
He's pretty chill and funny. His work is not hard, all you have to do is give effort and turn in the desired assignments. Easy class and a funny professor. Recommend 100%
Tim was a great professor! He was very laid back and just overall a nice person. He was very helpful and gave clear feedback. Just do the work and youll pass easily!
Professor Waggoner is super understanding and realizes that not everyone can get every assignment on time. He gives good feedback and always encourages student to push their talent to their full potential. I wish I could take him for English Comp 2 because his class was such a breeze!
I dont know if hes changed since his latest reviews but Ive found Waggoner less than helpful when it comes to writing better. Sure, hes easy, but easy doesnt help you grow. He got his start in the early 2000s before technology changed the book industry, so his advice is pretty dated.
I was new as a student coming to my first college English course, and Professor Waggoner walked me though the process of the homework and what needs to be done to pass. Sitting in his class was inspirational and gave me the potential to write again. Tim helped boost my grammar and is very inspirational to any students looking for a good professor.
Very lazy. Outdated advice. Just buy a novel writing book--save yourself money and time.
He's a great professor. He very much cares about his students. We do a lot of peer review which really helps. This was definitely the easiest class I've ever taken. I was actually able to finish this class early.
He was one of my favorite professors by far! I felt I could really exceed in his class and learn beyond what I thought I could. It's an easy class and not many papers todo, but you learn a lot. I think overall throughout the semester we did 5 - 6 papers and none of them went over 4 pages.
Professor Waggoner was really great! The class is super easy if you put in the work. There were four or five papers we had to do. He is super flexible with your time if you need to work or something. I totally recommend it!
he is the best professor! ive taken two of his classes and i would take one again. hes funny and you can tell he cares about what he is teaching. i highly recommend choosing him!
Waggoner is very helpful when it comes to feedback and overall is a very cool individual. I really enjoyed his time during class and he is very kind and admirable.
Overall an amazing professor! Super caring & understanding. I literally just signed up for my second semester of English with him as well. You only do papers in here but they're very easy & straightforward and theres not too many! He gives you plenty of time & even more if you ask for it. Really cool guy & super nice to talk to! Gives good feedback
Amazing professor ! No other assignments besides the five essays you will write throughout this class. Essay grader and was so understanding that I was not a strong writer to start. Made me want to improve my writing. Goes through everything he expects out of your essays and explains how to get there. Super understanding and will extend due dates
If you daydream about being a writer, about being a storyteller as a profession and passion, Tim Waggoner should ABSOLUTELY be a professor you want to take as many classes as you can with. He is knowledgeable, relaxed and insightful and incredibly encouraging in his critiques. I'd have given up on writing if not for taking one of his classes.
Awesome professor. Gives lots of times for papers and gives great feedback. Very easy going and more than willing to help if you are having trouble with your writing.
Very reasonable, will let you turn in assignments late. Really chill
His class is extremely easy as long as you write well and have the right format and grammer. I just wished on more feedback on how to write better.
Best professor this semester by far. I took English Composition 1, and we did need textbooks, but he gave us the online textbook for free in the syllabus. It's a very basic course, super simple. I had a couple of assignments that were "overdue," but he just told me to do them by the end of the semester.
I took this class online for CCP. The topics he gave for the essays were easy and straight forward. I will say he is a slow grader but once he starts grading, he will grade everything he needed to catch up on. I ended this class with a high A! Take his class if you get the chance!
Must Take ! trust me best decision you''ll ever make !
Had this professor for 3 classes. He is very polite and engaging, and has a great sense of humor. Very down-to-earth and patient. He gives great feedback on assignments and makes his expectations clear. He is very understanding regarding deadlines and will give you an extension if needed. Definitely recommend!
