Extremely boring but very easy! Print out quizzes and study them for test. If you take summer, he lets you off SO easy with papers... dont try too hard on them, you get an A if you do it.

Dont even need to open the 100$ book! just get the CD from someone else. Quizzes are cut and paste from the CD-Rom quizzes. 3 quizzes, 1 group report that you have to present and have lots of time to do, and everything else is a joke. Thanks Mr. Bellding!

EASY A

Easy A! He's a cutie too! Great sense of humor. You are rarely ever in class for more than an hour!!!

Great teacher. He doesn't keep you long in class, just gives you the information and discusses major issues. Group project is easy and topics are interesting.

Great professor! Class is short and sweet. He talks about interesting stuff and doesn't go overboard. Go to class and do your work and you will do well.

Awesome Teacher! He keeps the class short and simple. He gets the subject covered but does not teach u excess stuff that you really don't need to know. Tests are easy. Projects are fun and easy.

VERY VERY Easy teacher, really nice accepts late work for full credit too, go to class to get attendance points but only stay for like 30 minutes, he realizes the class is just a formality so makes it easy A.

The class itself is pointless b/c everything is common-sense. But since you are required to take it, do yourself a favor and take it with Ackley! Students have a say in the class, and the assignments/tests are extremely fair.

Super easy and easy going. Likeable. 3 Hour class never went longer than 2. He's very intelligent, but never arrogant. Takes attendance. No text. Lots of class discussion and student presentations.

Dr. Ackley is GREAT! He answered every question we had about discussions and even had a guess speaker from OCPS come to talk with us further about a topic that we were very interested in.

Very Knowledgeable teacher. You don't need the book as all the exams come from the online quizes. Exams very easy, word for word from online. Had intersting discussions in class and was able to eleborate from student questions. Never kept us the whole time. Does take attendence, but counts towards your grade. Easy A. Nice Guy.

reminds me of my dad. Very friendly, easy going guy. A lot of knowledge in the field. Attendance is mandatory, but he doesn't keep you all 3 hours, and the discussions made class interesting. 1 Group presentation is assigned, and a couple papers, but all are a breeze. Spent no more than 20 minutes writing each paper. very easy A!!!

Ackley is a great professor-I learned things in this class that I can apply in a lot of disciplines. He is friendly, humble, and approachable. He makes boring material understandable and relevant.

Analysis of Critical Issues, online. My first experience in an online class. Read everything about protocol for WEB CT if it is your first. Required postings every week. Final exam research project. I highly recommend Dr. Ackley.

He was always prepared for class, but never had 3 hours worth of material. The class was very informative even though it was an easy A.

The teacher is very enthusiastic about reading. He keeps you entertained and he reminds me so much of Kramer!

Extremely kind and helpful professor. Responds quickly and clearly to emails. The textbooks for this class are very challenging, but all the assignments are managable. I would certainly recommend this professor.

I don't know why everyone is being so mean about him. He isn't a bad teacher and his online class is pretty simple. I like him, he's always been nice to me and answered my questions quickly over email. Class is just a discussion each week and then like 1 paper and the mid-term and the final. Very simple easy class, good teacher.

This class was not nearly as bad as everyone is making it seems as long as you read and follow the syllabus. Discussions are due every week and 3 5page minimum papers are due through out the course to meet livetext and esol standards. When I had a question, he answered promptly. I enjoyed the class and the textbook was interesting and helpful!

Most painfully boring class I've ever taken. Don't get me wrong, it's an easy A. But the long summaries on the long chapters you have to read each week are sinister. Also, the quizzes every week are poorly worded and confusing. I'm not sure if he even really grades anything- he just slaps on an A and a job well done. Easy A but still, not worth it.

He's great if you're someone that needs little to no instruction. He gives all the assignments at the beginning of the semester and they're very straight-forward. He's a leniently grader. Not a lot of assignments required of you. If you need constant professor contact and supervision he's not for you.

EASY CLASS. Discussions are easy. Assignments are easy. Tests are not. I got a C on midterm and D on Final and still got an A in the class.

I took this course online, so I did not have a lot of interaction with Ackley. However, the syllabus is straight-forward and the class is VERY manageable. The course consists of textbook readings every week, discussion postings, and three papers. This was a good class and I recommend Ackley!

He is AWESOME! I took him for Summer B (which is only 6 weeks). He dropped the observation requirement and only gave us 3 papers and 6 discussions for the whole semester. There's a good amount of reading to do but it's all really interesting ethics cases regarding teaching. I'm sad the semester is almost over. I would take him again in a heartbeat!

This class was so easy. Everything is given the first day of class. Easy assignments and he is an extremely fair grader. About 10 discussion posts & 3 papers. Helpful & understanding professor. Definitely recommend. I got an A.

Really great teacher, very helpful and willing to answer questions! I had to write three papers and his instructions are very clear and if you follow them you're sure to get an A! One discussion post with response due per week (following the chapters in the book), and 3 papers (2 ESOL, 1 in place of final test). Wonderful class!

Professor Ackley is very nice and understanding. He sets you up at the beginning of the semester with the routines then lets you do your own thing for the semester. He grades your assignments and gives feedback. Just do the assignments and you will do good. If you need any help, do not hesitate to talk to him. I definitely recommend taking him!

Easy peasy. This is the epitome of an online class -- you have a chapter to read each week, a discussion posting each week, and like, three big assignments. That's all. If you're a slow reader this'll be painful, but if you're a quick reader this is a quick-and-easy class.
