i actually like this guy. If you want to really improve your writing he's the guy to take. Yes he does give A Whole bunch of work! There are pop quizes which SuCk, and poetry sucks but if your really into english he's the man!
He is an excellent teacher , he may not be the easiest one to get an A but he is very clear and assists you with if you help. He actually will go out of his way to assist you if u ask for it.
He gives a lot of work, but that is expected in any college course. It is very hard to get an A, but does give reasonable grades. As long as you make a good effort, you'll get a good grade. Make sure you read for those pop quizzes.
i've had worse. he's a really great teacher though except for when he does the poetry section. maybe it's just me but poetry with him is HARD, esp when he gives a poetry exam. but he's a cutie.
Great!!!
Awesome teacher! He does give his share of work, but its really not that bad. This is probably the best english class I've had. He interestingg to listeenn too.
he's hot. very hard. grades you on what you get on your essays and QUIZs are Very important along with journals. he's funny, but do the work and you dont have to see him again!!!

His is such a good teacher. He is such an understanding professor. Gives his fair share of work, but good. Take him. :)
He is great, take him.

He's a very good and nice teacher. Very engaging. However for those who are looking to get an easy A in his class, I wouldn't recommend him. You have to be read about 4 books and a hundred poems, write about 4 essays, do his quizzes and write journals.
He's a good teacher and helps you do better in writing essays. You will learn a lot in his class with the readings and the great workshops he gives to enhance your writing skills. In addition you will love the great topics he discusses too.
Awesome teacher, can be a little strict, but more than fair.
alomst impossible to get an A, hope for A- only. Expect to read a book a week. About 4 essays about the books, about 6 quizzes( all easy just read sparknotes). You can hand in assignemnts late, he doesnt take off points, just let him now. kinda femenine
Good prof. he will make you a better writer but dont count on an A...TOUGH GRADER i worked my ass off and got a B+
I had to drop his class b/c he gives way too much work. I couldn't pass his quizzes and didn't do well on my essays. I also didn't do well on my journals as well. He is the hardest and worst professor I have ever had.
A brilliant, open-minded professor who manages to keep his course entertaining, Timothy Aubry is a great choice for any aspiring student -- especially one who really wishes to receive the best experience from any English course. I had him twice -- amazing
great teacher, openminded and easy on the eyes
There is no point to the quizes I got a B+ on every paper and an A an every quiz and I still ended up getting a B+ how the hell does that average up. Only good thing is that you get a lot of rewrite and they count as papers.
He is very intelligent and open minded. He does give a lot of work, but you can show him your draft and discuss it before handing in. Very good looking too : )
He's a great professoer and funny too. Hes like a young boy and will make you crack up. He's very intelligent and although gives a lot of work he's a very easy grader
Aubry's class is real entertaining. There is not a time that I didn't laugh in his class. He is very fair and helps students out, even though there's a lot of work. He also makes students think about their views. Aubry's a very cool professor, most definitely.
Aubry is such a great English professor. His discussions are interesting and he's very funny. He is clear about all the essays he requires and is very helpful
Awesome teacher, really fun class and is always joking and laughing. Smart and very keen to help students. Gives alot of work and is sort of hard but he always cares about what you think. Great overall, maybe one of the best ENG teachers.
he is very interesting in class, but he is not as easy as you expected. the reading is nit very much. the class is overall ok, but not easy A.
I loved the way he taught class, although he does give a lot of work he's understanding and flexible. PLUS hes HOTTT. If anything hes good eye candy. =0)
he is mad good. he makes his classes interesting and fun. He gives a lot of work but the way he presents the work actualy makes it interesting. Just do his work and u will do good in his class
Hes a great professor. He's flexible and lets you hand in work late without any deductions. I must admit he's a little tough on the grading but no ones perfect. His work is not impossible to do and his readings are very interesting.
He's nice but too much work
Brilliant professor (best in Baruch)! Very articulate and coherent. My writing improved a lot from his essayy assignments. He allows redo's and is available to discuss with you if you're having trouble. I had him for 2 semesters for ENG 2100 and 2150. Put in some effort and you can get an A.
must admit that he may be a good professor but his grading policy is crap; apeears to be good during the sesmster but come grading time its a different story
In this class, I improve a lot, he is helpful, I discussed my essays in his office for a serveral time, helpful. However, I only feel I am improved, but I don't see good grades appears up, maybe it is that I am beginning from a lower level. If you are a good English writer and thinker, then step into his classroom, he will take you to a journey.
I liked this class a lot. He's helpful, easy, and a class that you just don't mind going to. B+ in the class by just doing the work, and going to class.
he has a lot of work and high expectation in essay writing (graduated princeton & amherst)but a real cool guy and really HOTTTTT! not a breeze but fun class. i enjoyed it and deserved what i really got at the end
Great professor.Smart.Clear in his explanations.I learned a lot in his class.Seems like a lot of work at the beginning but he makes it go smoothly.Grades fairly.
i agree, VERY HOT
HE IS DEFINATELY SEXY his lectures are always fun and interesting but there's a few articles u have to read and write essay's on.Towards da end of the semester it seems a lil' hectic b/c of all the essay writing and the 10 pg. research paper due da last day of class. If you like readin n writing, you should consider him.
he is extremely articulate and intelligent. Class was fun, and I learned a lot at the same time. Also, a very nice man with gorgeous eyes. He's teaching 2850 in the spring and I strongly recommend him. This is not an easy A. He is a fairly hard grader, but if you have good analytical skills and read the works you'll do just fine.
Simply the best. Willing to discuss your essays with you. Grades fairly.
Very nice and very inteligent. He is well organized. Also very HOT! :)
Hes sexy....hyper but sexy :)
not good.......
He is extremly interesting and intellegent professor. His classes are fun, you learn a lot!!! but you have to write and he cares about your IDEAS, not gramma. I tjink he is one of the best Baruch professors.(and yes he is sooo HOT)
An expert in modern American literature. Class for those students who perform well when high levels of critical thinking, thoughtful discussion and frequent written assignments are expected. Students can expect to hear mind-blowing analyses of texts and should come away with several foolproof techniques that will enable them to do the same.
Ideal English professor - witty, open-minded, analytical, funny. The man got hi ph.d. at 28 from Princeton U. By far the most well-rounded professor I have ever had.
very well rounded teacher, definitly knows what he's talking about. excellent grading policy: if you get a bad grade on it, he'll let you revise it as many times as you want, but he doesnt drop the original grades... so basically the more you write the more grades you get. ok ok ok... he's hot there i said it :P
Most of the ratings that you read here are done by English majors, There were way too many papers to write in his class. Tough grader
If you want to learn, take him. I am in love with his teaching methods. If every prof was like him, I'd never leave college.
He's one of the best English professor in Baruch. He's very helpful, and you can revise all the papers if you want to help you to improve your final grade, though you need only to revise two out of four papers. Take him if you can:)
I've had him four times during the course of my college career, and it's a pleasure every time. He's definitely one of Baruch's best English professors.
He's one of the best professors at Baruch. He's really smart, thorough, and a genuinely nice guy. There is a lot of material covered, but he allows extensions without compromising your grade. Plus, he's always available for consultation. You're obviously reading this professor so yeah, i think you're really hot! good luck with your fellowhsip.
He is a great professor when it comes to analyzing literature; we had really interesting discussions in class. To get an A in his class you need to be a great writer, he expects the papers to be free of grammatical errors and the language "smooth flowing." I think he also favors women so if you’re a Hot Female he will be more lenient towards you.

The best professor I've had in my college life at Baruch. He will make you think outside the box and give you profound explanations about the texts. I left with an appreciation for World Literature and an A-. He will never belittle you and the work isn't too much of a hassle. Do well on the papers. Be prepared to read a lot and also enjoy it.
Profeesor Aubry is the best! I took American Literature with him. He would always use his personal experiences to relate to the books we were reading. I graduated from Baruch and anyone who is an English major please take him. I asked him to write me a letter of rec. and he was in another country and he sent it. Very kind and loving.
He is by far the best teacher I've had at Baruch. He has a way of explaining things which make them crystal clear. The amount of interpretation this guy can make out of one line from a book is insane. He really cares about his students and his papers really helped me improve my writing. Take him if you want a class that will keep you awake!!
Prof. Aubry is the best teacher in Baruch College (and I've been thru dozens). He's a hard grader & gives u work as if u dont have other classes (or work, or a life) to think about; but, he has a passion & vigor w/what he teaches that will keep u on the edge of your seat! It's the type of class you'll remember even long after u finish college.
Very intelligent and enthusiastic professor, truly interested in making your writing better and is willing to help. One of the few classes where you never look at the clock.
First off, he's not as hot as people say he is. However, he is kind of cute...just kind off. You can see he's starting to thin in the hair. Anyway, although the readings tend to be boring, he's very good at helping you deeply analyze the text. Also, he's funny sometimes. Take notes, pay attention, and you'll be fine.
well, what they say here is true. He is smoking hot! Yes Yes Yes, im a guy and i can't take my eyes off him. He is also a good teacher, hes very nice and caring. easy to pass. He is probably hot of the hottest professor here on Baruch
Enthusiastic professor, and great at in depth analysis of books. The lectures are lively and fun. Don't take this class though if you can't concentrate with full focus for a long time, I couldn't and I'd zone out easily because his class was quite intense, but I still got an A. Overall, great experience.
don't waste your time taking this class if you don't have a passion for english. not an easy A, you have to work hard on papers & mandatory revisions. i will say, he's a bit too critical and harsh. if you don't come up with his exact analysis of a text you will lose points dramatically so pay close attention to the analysis he provides in lectures.
Prof. Aubry was really different.. It was a long class, but he organized very well- I enjoyed a lot :) Everything he said was interesting and intelligent. Though I don't think he is a tough grader, he expects a lot. Yes~ he is cute & handsome, so it was a great pleasure. I'd definitely recommend his class.
This guy is a total tool, he condescending and in tolerable. He will over judge you and your work, his bar is set way too high and you will fail if you are not up to par with what he expects, he's arrogant and mean and will accuse of plagiarism if your work is TOO good.
To be honest, professor Aubry's class is easy to pass. Any effort results in a PASSING grade but, receiving a A is near impossible. If you're expecting an easy A, he's not the one to take. If you're satisfied with a B or B+, definitely take him. He's always willing to help. One of the best professors out there. Youdon'thavetobeafemaletolikehisclass
Really nice professor. The readings he chose were interesting with themes we could relate to in real life like death, love, power etc..Interesting classs.I have to agree he is a very critical reader, but that makes you become a better writer (at least it did for me)He is very honest, cool, and laidback. I def recommend his class!
Professor Aubry is one of the most compassionate professors at Baruch College. I took this professor in Fall 2007. I needed his assistance outside of class and he always took the time out to help me. He wrote my recommendation for law school. He cared about me success both in the class and outside. He challenges you to think!
Great professor, very engaging. A lot of reading, and 2 major papers. He lets you re-submit all of your papers as many times as you want, which is awesome! Very helpful and clear. I really enjoyed his class, definitely recommend!
Allows revisions for papers and averages the grades. Class discussions are interesting and engaging. Got to choose a topic I was interested in for all papers which made writing them easier. He's cool and doesn't give off that disconnected from the students feeling that most teachers do. Assigns lots of reading, but I didn't most. Highly recommended
This class was very interesting, but Aubry is a tough grader. He lets you do revisions and then averages the two grades. There's a final presentation at the end. There's also a lot of reading material. If you are a very good writer, take his class. If you struggle, I wouldn't recommend him.
If you're going for a challenging English course where you're able to maintain interest, definitely go for Aubry! I won't lie and say that the course was a walk in the park, however. Aubry forces you to think in new ways without much effort. Also, despite his relaxed attire and calm demeanor, his knowledge demands respect. Very impactful.
He is alright. He's funny and intelligent. Harsh grader on papers. 2 essays and 2 revisions. No pop quizzes, midterm or final. If you're interested in improving your syntax and grammar then definitely take him.
Straight up - you will not get an A if you're loaded with business/quantitative courses. Revising takes a while and it's not an easy craft to perfect. If you're about that solid GPA, skip this. Otherwise, it's a good challenge for your English abilities and you learn a few different perspectives about world literature. Fair grader, but expects alot
He's alright. That's all I got to say.
Timothy is great, you read really interesting books which make you think in depth. You will finish one book a week! Theres a lot of reading involved but again the discussions are so worth it. There are a lot of writing involved but he cares more about personal growth than grading so you can revise you paper at the end of the semester. take him
Funny and all around chill professor. For my section, we read seven novels and wrote short response papers (1-2 pages) for each. The final paper is 8-10 pages, where you write about one of the novels--part of which you reference a few critical essays of that novel. You'll need to manage your time wisely if you're to do well in the course.
I really enjoyed having him. He really wants everyone to participate and is willing to hear our all points of view. Is super kind and cares about his students. He is passionate about teaching as well. Decent amount of hw but none of it is particularly hard to complete. About three essays.
He's good! I took him in the summer 2019. He's syllabus are the clearest and the simplest possible, I liked that a lot. Just do your readings and participate in class and you'll be fine. He's also a pleasant and handsome guy.
Good professor. A new reading every week. Forces participation. Has exercises where he makes everyone participate, so if you are shy or you don't like speaking in front of the class, this class is not for you. Has flashcards with everyones name on it, so that he can call on people. There is one presentation that everyone has to do.
He's very sweet. Lots of readings every week that is hard to keep up with. Gives really good feedback on how to better your essay. Respects all students and tries to make the class engaged. Have to make a 5 minutes presentation. If you mess up on the major essays you'll mess up your whole grade regardless of how well you do on everything else.
Ok so if youre good at writing this class will be an easy A for you. He lets you revise the two majors essays and gives very detailed feedback. The only other homework is 2 one-page response papers, daily journal entries on whatever we read (easy to bs), and a leniently graded class presentation. Hes a nice guy and lectures are cool sometimes.
Prof. Aubry is nice and engages the class in a way that makes you retain information about different cultures. However, it is extremely hard t get an A unless you conform to his opinions to put in your paper or unless you're already a pretty good writer and just need to adjust with his comments. There is a lot of reading, but you can catch up.
Amazing professor. His lectures are interesting and engaging. Great selection of texts. The class consists of 2 major papers, 2 major paper revisions, 2 response papers, a class journal entry due for every class, and a 5 min presentation. Definitely a lot of reading. Nice guy and a fair grader. Forces participation which was stressful at times.
Prof. Aubry is one of the best professors I've taken in Baruch. As a capstone course, it was a great journey from in class to virtual learning but as a class, we all engaged in our weekly zoom sessions. Participation really matters and he gives great feedback on your papers. He loves to teach and it truly shows. Overall great prof, truly recommend.
Waste of time. You don't learn much. Busy work but easy to do well. Avoid if you can.
Revisions on all papers so the og grade is 1/3 and the final draft is 2/3 of the grade. Two 4-6p papers, a 8-10p research paper, a documentary on the same topic, 2 reading response papers (1-2p), 1 blog post that you present. Journal entries (a few sentences) due each class based on readings. Super nice guy and will give extensions if you need
He is a great professor! I love him!
There's a couple of readings to discuss in class followed by journal entries. Sometimes, place us into groups to discuss the readings. Call randomly on ppl to participate so make sure to be prepared. There's a 5 min presentation on a topic of your choosing from list and an essay on one of the stories we read in class. Also final essay
