His class kept my attention and not many can do that. It's questionable if he really teaches the material, but you actually learn about situations that happen in the real world. I loved the class, but the tests didn't always cover what we were taught. Oh, and I didn't buy or open a book, and I will be getting an A or B+.

A pretty nice class. I hardly study for exams and still pull a C/B or better on the exams. He doesn't take role, but everything he covers in class is on the exams. He's also hilarious! If I put more effort in, I could probably easily pull an A.

Time was great, kept my attention for the entire semester. Econ is interesting but Tim makes it great, dont take any econ 203 or 205 unless u take it from him!! Highly recommend him

Mr. Bastain is not a typical professor, he teaches as a hobby not a job, so he loves coming to class, and this rubs off on everyone.Very entertaining lectures, goes off on many tangents which are both relevant as interesting. Attend class and you will find tests easy. One of the few teachers who could get me up at 830 for class. Highly Recommended!

Professor Bastian is an amazing teacher. Despite what he says to the contrary, he really does care about his students and how they do (if you care). He even sat down with me to look at my resume and talk about interviewing tips. He also has real life experience that he can bring to class...and it doesn't hurt that he is a conservative!!

Great teacher with a great personality. He really knows a lot about economics and makes class fun with his sidestories about all the strange people he's met. Enjoyed going to night class, and I'm not even a business student. Also, he is extremely helpful and is willing to offer plenty of help if you ask.

Super fun class and teacher. More of a pick-me-up in the morning to get in a good laugh, have a good time then be decently alive for the rest of your day. Warning: Don't expect to get by on the lectures. Reading the book/doing your own excersizes is the only way you will pass the 3 tests (your WHOLE grade) Tests are ass-kickingly hard. :'(

Tim is one of the best professors I've ever had. If you want to actually enjoy a dry and boring subject, he is the ONLY professor to take. Tim's class will keep you awake, entertained, and you'll actually learn something. Economics can be painful, but with this instructor it won't be.

He is my favorite prof! Hes easy, expects you to try, you may not do well on tests but, if he believes you are trying then he will give you an AWESOME grade! Take him if you can. I came to class everyday, even though attendance isnt mandatory,becuase he's just that hilarious and funny! I heart him!

i took macro with him... really cool guy who keeps lectures very interesting... attendance is not required but it definately helps for learning the material... tests are somewhat difficult but manageable if you put some time in... overall i would definately recommend him... take him over deskins if you have the choice

Bastian is awesome. He is really interesting and he'll wake you up in the morning. Tests are on the harder side--if you don't study you'll probably get like a C (some stuff is common sense), but if you wanna do good, you have to study pretty hard. He teaches several sections so sometimes he loses track (I'd recommend a night class). Overall, awesom

This guy is just flat out fantastic. Explains things in a manner that is easy to understand, very approachable and helpful all the way through the semester. This class was extremely applicable to real world thinking. You are not required to go to class, but you will do better on the tests if you show up, and the classes are very enjoyable.

BEST PROF AT CREIGHTON! I would him for ANY class. He's hilarious, cares about students, and makes econ fun! I learned so much, and didn't think I was going to like econ at all. Take him if you have the chance!!! Attendance isnt required and there is no homework ,but tests can be tricky, so study and ask him for help if you don't get something.

Great guy really laid back. Makes econ extremely interesting and applicable to the real world. Frequently espouses conservative (financial) views but he makes a dull subject very engaging. His tests arent too hard, very straight forward. Use the book website for practice quizzes.

You have to take Bastian. One of the funniest professors at Creighton. Makes a not-so-interesting subject fun! Some test questions make you think but nothing overly difficult. If you have to take ECO 203, you better take it with him! You will want to show up to his class to hear his stories and humor!

Attendance and homework is not mandatory. The first 20 min of every class are reserved for his political opinions and personal stories. Read the book and go to class occasionally and you should get at least a B

Class is fairly simple, he does tend to get off topic so to get an A reading the text is a must. He does tend to forward his neo-conservative viewpoints quite a bit but as a hardcore liberal I can attest that its tolerable enough. Class consists of 3 exams and a 10% participation grade. Make sure you study hard for you exams.

Bastian is the epitome of the word "awesome." Funniest teacher I've ever had, you'll love his little insights on life. If you are a conservative you will especially love his class. Bastian is hilarious! The class is pretty laid back and attendance is not mandatory but he gives calculation examples that a similar to those of the tests. The tests are application tests not just facts like many other classes so it's a little tricky and takes time to get used to.

He's a legend in CoBA, and it's easy to see why. He's hilarious and loves to talk about current events. Class can sometimes be all over the map, but I've never gotten lost. Make sure to speak up. Tim is often very eccentric throughout his lectures. Make sure to attend his study sessions - he simply tells you what's on the exams. Make sure to understand fully what the graphs mean and be able to interpret anything he talked about previously.

Great professor but I lost all respect for him over the course of the semester. Bastian is a raging conservative on a good day. He typically spends more time bashing Obama than he does lecturing on economics. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but as a popular and well-liked professor at CU, he completely undermined his authority.

My 3rd time taking Bastian! Best professor in COBA! I took finance earlier with a professor, and dropped out because he couldn't teach me anything. Bastian not only teaches, but he simplifies everything so it is easy to understand. This was a random finance class, but take him for anything and everything! He is super fun!!!

Great professor always (my third class with him) and very easy. This class though was a bit disappointing - he brought in a lot of speakers and guest lecturers so it was a little less Bastian. Overall a good course, but I wish he'd taught more of it.

Bastian is the man. The first lecture I had with the guy I knew this class was going to be great. He makes economics so much fun, and I feel like I have learned so much from him. Sometimes the clarity of what will be on the test is difficult, as 1/3 of the material is solely from the book, but if you listen in class, you'll do great!

Bastian is one of the best professors I have encountered at Creighton University. While it's not the easiest section of ECO 203 (looking at you Milewski) it's definitely not difficult to manage. Taking Bastian will definitely prepare you well to take ECO 205. Also one of the funniest teachers I've ever had. Take Bastian!

Bastian is a great guy and I would highly recommend taking him. His class can be difficult if you don't pay attention, but you will learn things that you wouldn't expect to learn in an Economics class like how to handle an interview. Great class, and very applicable to the real world.

Hands down the best professor Creighton offers. I had him in the fall, but he continuously reaches out to me today (I was even invited to dinner with his family and other Creighton students). He cares about Econ as well as his students. The tests are not a walk in the park, but definitely do-able. He is really personable, which makes him stand out!

I cannot recommend this professor highly enough. Bastian goes above and beyond for his students and his fantastic, hilarious lectures include useful lessons on real life professional skills. The workload is light and all the exams are straightforward. Attendance is not mandatory, but you will want to go to class just to spend time with Bastian.

If you need to take Micro, be sure to choose Bastian. Absolutely hilarious, and he makes the material fun to learn. I took the night class, and the time just flew by. Tests are easy if you show up and take notes, and be sure to do his study guides because they're pretty similar to the tests. Highly recommend taking this class!

Seriously the best instructor I've ever had. He will sidetrack conversations often to discuss greater economic principles that may be more applicable than the cirriculum. Elite level professor, HIGH return on investment for taking this class. Gives a very fair grade curve as well.

Class consists of 4 tests, one being the final, which are multiple choice & few work-out problems. Topics rather difficult to understand, I recommend studying a lot/using online tutorials. Professor Bastian is a phenomenal microeconomics professor. The class consisted of 3 tests and a final. Show up to class/take good notes and review the powerpoints that he sends you before each test if you want to do well.

Favorite professor here, he's hilarious and extremely caring of his students. Took him at 8am and was still excited for class everyday. Exams are straightforward if you studied, and he scales them. He does poke fun at people, but honestly everyone loves it anyways. I'm no longer going to be a business student, but he made me heavily consider Econ.

If this class was a holiday, it would be festivus. Bastian never fails to air his grievances, and always wins the feats of strength.

You can tell that he really cares for his students, and really tries to get all of the students involved in class discussions. He curves the tests well. His tests are pretty difficult, but with the curve and the extra credit that he offers, the course is very doable.

I took a night class and the entire lecture could be done in 30 minutes if he could just stay on track. He's a nice guy though but he talks A LOT about himself. I was not a super big math person so I struggled but if you go to office hours and use the slides to study you'll do fine. The entire class is graded on 4 tests so make sure to study asap.

His grading is not too clear, and he favors seniors and athletes. I am neither though, and he is very nice and a good teacher! His lectures are interesting and he posts lecture slides for each chapter that help a lot for the exams. I took the evening class of his, 6:30-9:15 but we were never there past 8:40 and his exams were really short.
