Boyd is such an awsome teacher. Tells jokes, basically gives you the test in the review, very straight forward and makes the class interesting. The TA I had Ici was also pretty cool. I got an A in the class and learned a lot too. Just do the readings b/c those help with the essays.

Outstanding. Especially compared to some of the schmoes you could end up with. Makes lectures interesting and you don't even really need the book. Always willing to help a student and talk to them about anything.

Boyd is amazing when he lectures; however, he often has his GAs teach, who are often nervous and lack clarity. His tests rank from 3.5-5 on easiness (using the scale above). He has review sessions before the tests, which are essential to attend (wink, wink). He received his PhD from Princeton...

Boyd's test are fairly easy and you don't have to spend hours studying. He doesnt post his notes online because he writes them during the lecture and his handwriting is bad! But he is very entertaining and extremely helpful. I would want him as a professor again in a heartbeat!

Boyd is the craziest, most random, funny and engaging teacher ever!!! He shows genuine knowledge and passion in his subject, and as soon as he starts talking, you're involved in a heartbeat, no matter how tired you are. I'm arranging my schedule around his class next semester - he's that good. Bottom line - BOYD RULES!!!!

take world civs with boyd - everyone i know is obsessed with the course - he goes off on random tangents, but it keeps you awake - very helpful, NICE man - test answers handed on a silver platter if you attend the review session (kind of a complaint)

I hate history, any kind of history. I just took it to fulfill requirement. But Boyd is unbelievably good I actually went to every class and aced it. If you have a tendencey to fall asleep in history class, take Boyd's. He's very refreshing!

Super easy class...had an A going for me the entire semester until my stupid TA lost my final exam. So yea that blew.

his jokes are really corny but his tests are pretty easy, just study his notes (so that means go to class) and you will do fine on the exams, plus he puts tons of bonus points on his exams.

Dislike the subject but its an Interesting class..old but active and funny professor. The down side is only his handwriting..*PHewWW~~* hard time with that.. exams are fair..just attend lessons and recitations plus do the readings and you're fine.

pretty good class, dont really need to go to class just recitation, read the book, outline and study it and you will do fine on the exams, the teacher is pretty corny and his handwriting is undeciperable sometimes but his material makes it pretty interesting. his exams arent cumulative and he has no final exam, no homeworks...easy AAAAAAAA

He's a great professor. Instead of just teaching all the dry facts he makes class fun. It's a pretty easy course, just be prepared he might call you down for one of his "demonstrations".. i'd sit near the back=)

Very, very fun teacher. The prevalence of TA teaching caused the class to go off track towards the end, but when Boyd taught, you actually wanted to listen. One of the more -fun- classes I've ever taken. Only class I've ever been in where everyone clapped at the end of the first day.

his jokes can go off tangent with regards to the material, sometimes they can be really dirty too but that makes it more fun to laugh to. He's an interesting lecturer who waters down the facts so that you can understand and study it yet he spices them up with outside info., i'm having him nxt semester cuz no cumulative tests, really convenient.

World Civ isn't the most exciting course ever, but Professor Boyd's sense of humor and clarity make it more interesting for all of us. His hand writing is pretty bad, but he moves at a steady pace and speaks clearly. His tests/essays are almost too easy. If you go to class it's an easy A.

he's a funny guy with some jokes a little too young for his age. but his tests are amazingly easy, study for 20 minutes and you will get a perfect score,make sure your recitation teacher is mad easy as well, it helps out cuz you get tons of bonus pts. his course is like a gift to freshmen, easy, funny and interesting. go to class and you'll get A

Prof.Boyd is the BEST teacher ever. his class is a definite A. lectures are fun, he has chocolate at the tests and sometimes he even walks around and gives you hints on the test. Very approachable. If you sit in the front row he'll pick you to help with demonstrations, never a boring class. Way easy!

Best teacher at UB!!!!! If you take take notes and review them for a half hour before the test its an easy A. The notes go quick because he is funny and tells a lot of jokes. There are 2 short essays and 4 multiple choice tests. No Final!! Get him at all costs he gives out candy during tests.

Professor Boyd is the best professor at UB! Try at all costs to get him! He makes jokes during notes so you're always entertained, he gives out candy during the 4 multiple choice tests, he has interesting demonstrations, and does a huge review session and review sheets before every test. Definitely my favorite professor!

I don't understand why people said he is a good teacher because he is a fast talker, has writing that is impossible to read on the overheard, he is very old school professor-all you do every single day is take notes on the overhead and you can never read the notes because he can't even write well. Honestly, I hated his class for these reasons....

I think hes the best History teachers at UB. Extreme funny and interesting, 4 easy midterms which are 2 with essay and 2 w/o essay. But his handwriting is reversely hard to understand... Mostly take notes from listening. Highly recommand!!!

EASY CLASS. Great professor, he makes you laugh like a little kid in class. Impossible to get anything other than an A. All the other world teachers are hard and make you do a research paper, not the case here. no paper, easy class.

boyd's notes are really helpful...generally u won't nid 2 refer text...so dont miss hid lectures...

He is as good as all the ratings suggest. Lectures are the best I've seen. I don't like the world civ stuff that much, but Boyd made it the most interesting class I've taken. All exams are multiple choice, so it's an easy A if you take notes in class. TA's are really good, grading is awesome.

So, he's funny and easygoing. nice guy. I like when he makes preverted jokes. however, i dont know if I learn stuff form him.. just because I like the laugh. I'd take him again instantly.

Must attend his classes. Tests come from notes. You can purchase previous editions of the textbook to save money. Review session covers 40% of the test.

Boyd is probably the easiest teacher I have ever had. His lectures are interesting and amusing (although his handwritting can be a little messy). Four exams, ALL multiple choice and two short in class essays that you get the topics for before hand. He couldn't make it easier to get an A and still be an awesome teacher. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for UGC!

Ask anyone-he's the best world civ guy out there. No quizzes, no final exam, only 4 quarterly tests-2 of which include short essays, which he gives you 3 topics to choose from ahead of time. He made what you'd think is a boring class into an interesting and easy one.

Based on classmate horror stories, I had the best teacher/TA combination. The class is very easy if you actually show up and take notes. Boyd keeps the class interesting. My TA was Joey Williams. He's one of the few that actually speaks English well,and he teaches very well.

If you don't get an A in this class it is pretty sad. It's MADDDD easy

Boyd is the best professor to take for the world civilizaition requirements. He gives 4 tests which are only multiple choice and 2 separate essays which students take in the recitation class. Tests are easy and comes straight from the lecture notes that Boyd write. Essay topics are given a week in advanced. Chris Forstall is the best TA. Easy A.

My friends knew i hated world civ and told me to take with Boyd. I told them it doesn't matter who teaches i will always hate and fail the class. I've tried a few teachers and always resigned. I was WRONG. Boyd made me really enjoy world civ. There are review sheets, review sessions, he's honestly funny. You can't ask for much more!!!

Seriously the BEST world civ teacher. If you don't get him, world civ sucks. the only think is you have to go to class, but don't worry about buying a text book. as long as you pay attention in class and go to recitation that's all you have to do. BEST WORLD CIV PROFESSOR EVER. You need a 94-100 in order to get the A, which is unbelievably easy. Surprisingly, I got a 101, which should have been an A+, but the school doesn't give out such thing... GET BOYD!!!

He wants everyone to get an A, and just about everyone does. You can do fine without reading the book, his tests come straight from his notes which he writes like a story so it's easy to remember. He has the best TA's who give Easy quizzes in recitation, you can get extra credit there too. so thankful to have this guy. easy GPA booster =)

Just take this class, do not bother with any other World Civ professors. He is so funny and down to Earth. He really cares about his students. He even gives out candy after exams!!!!

The content of the class is very very simple. If you remember 9th grade world history you should be fine. I personally found lectures pointless because I already knew the material and got great grades on test without attending lectures. But lectures are somewhat amusing. No papers, fianls,etc. Highly Reccomended.

Boyd is absolutely fantastic! He makes a point of connecting with his students and makes class fun. ATTEND THE LECTURES!!!! He mentions things that are not in the book that WILL be on the exams. Stick around through the length of the exams, he'll give out answers toward the end! EXCELLENT PROFESSOR!

This class is soooo easy. I went to maybe 4 lectures the whole semester and got an A. His TA's are a joke and ridiculously lenient. Boyd's the man though he try's to make the class as fun as possible and humorous and he does a pretty good job.

Go to lecture, read the book, study from the review sheets, don't fight with your TA, and you should get an A. Professor Boyd is hilarious and super lenient, but beware of TA lectures. Not many of them were worth attending.

his teaching is just interesting. he makes explaining text like telling stories! go to class is fun and helpful because his tests are mostly based on notes. hand writing is messy, try to copy his notes by working with ur friend if thats possible, and borrow notes if you miss classes

Awesome. Boyd's tests are the easiest. Got William Duffy as my TA. He's pretty lenient in essay portion of the exams. But he does tend to ramble about irrelevant info.

He is seriously the best professor you'll ever have at UB. He's hilarious and his class is based entirely on his own made-up notes, not on the book at all. He writes his notes in a really easy to understand way. He has review sessions for tests and it's the easiest A ever, I promise!

I thought I would do terrible but I got an A- in his class. He is an awesome teacher. He makes things interesting and he is really funny. The textbook isn't mandatory but it really helps for recitation homework. I would reccomend him to anyone. He is awesome

He is said to be the best UGC111 professor, and I can attest to that. His lectures are always fun. For his exams, reading the textbook is not enough. Show up for lecture! A lot of the extra credit questions can be answered by going. Also, show up for both his review and the T.A.'s review. All of his T.A.'s are amazing.

His lectures are always fun and his TAs are amazing. I had a lot of help from the TA. His tests are mostly from the lecture and give students a lot of extra credicts on the test.He's the best UGC teacher.

Boyd is a great teacher! He is hilarious and makes an otherwise dry and boring subject somewhat enjoyable to learn. I guarantee no other world civ teacher will make you laugh as much during class or give easier tests!

With him, you get out of the course what you put into it. It is possible to get an A without really putting a decent amount of work in. I would say with Boyd you learn 200 of facts, (ace the tests) then forget them all, but with Barry you learn 20 ideas, and remember 15 of them. Barry is an outstanding lecturer, and far more brilliant.

I had him for both 111/112 and he is by far the easiest professor at UB that I've had. If you just take notes then you're fine for the tests. It really doesn't matter what TA you have because even if you do bad on a couple quizzes, the tests always bring you back up.

If you must suffer through World Civs (which now that AP Euro no longer can be used as an exemption, you probably must), then take it with Boyd. If you're at all history-inclined, then it's a breeze if you show up for lectures and take notes - don't even bother with the textbook. He makes a lot of funny comments that make the hour go by quickly.

Easiest A ever. I took both semesters of world civ with him and it was a cinch. I wasn't really that interested in the class but he is so hilarious that I went to class even when I didn't need to. His notes are really easy to understand and he always helps you during exams by basically giving you the answer. Easy A, great professor.

This class was the best World Civ you could ever take. Lecture is interesting, hilarious even sometimes. You don't need your textbook, just show up to lecture and especially recitation. His review sessions before the test are easy too. Who knew World Civ could be fun?

Amazing professor. Very interesting and intriguing. All it takes to do good is go over class notes. There are 4 tests in the semester, each covering about 2.5 weeks of material. There is no final. Easy to do good.

He is the most awesome world civ professor. Who is not a jerk when it come to exams, as long as you study for it. I only study for 30 mins for each exams and I receive my easy A.:)

Boyd is an excellent professor and his class is very easy. He writes notes on an projector during class and that's where the test questions come from. There are two essay tests that he gives you topics for beforehand and four objective tests (make sure to study your maps). There is suggested reading but you can get away without it.

Professor Boyd is a awesome professor. I actually enjoyed history because of him! He is not mandatory about attendance, but it would be helpful for you to go to class because most of the exam questions comes from his lecture notes, so taking good notes is a must! Anyone who have him as a professor is lucky!

Great teacher. Very interesting and you absolutely have to go to the classes, never read the text book. The TA grades the quizzes and essay exams, but most of them are easy going.

Very nice, sweet guy! He used to teach middle school, so he's not like the average college professor. He actually understands and cares about his students! The only problem is his handwriting and grading techniques. He writes sloppy and all the notes are on the tests...so you have to be a GOOD NOTE TAKER...because the class is only based on 4 TESTS

Boys is such a funny and easy going dude. He brings materials to the class and makes a lot of jokes to entertain you. His handwriting is horrific though and it would so hard to comprehend. That's why you should go to recitation cause your TA clarifies the notes and they do a lot to help you past. Well, my TA did. Overall, he's great.

Boyd is a beast. Has a great sense of humor and is easy to understand. One downfall is that his handwriting is pretty sloppy, but you and your friends can help each other figure it out! Attend all lectures because it will help on tests. Exams are decent and he doesn't give a final. Definitely take this class, I love him!

it's a very easy class. and boyd is very humorous!!! everything is perfect except for his hand writing. but you had to take the notes from his lecture because you have to read you notes for your exams.

This class was easier than the ones I took in middle school. I regret not attending lecture because he is very intelligent and informing. However, his class is extremely easy and his TA's are very helpful. DON'T BUY THE TEXTBOOK. His exams are based on his notes from lecture, so it is necessary to attend unless you have a friend with the notes.

today is the first time i felt in ages that the time flew by in the class. when he said i will end the lecture, i check my cellphone at it was 46 and it felt like it was amazingggggg. i know what a true teacher is like. he is amazing. best use of technology + traditional class room atmosphere.

Don't like history? He will legit make you love it. He is SO entertaining, will def keep you awake in class & also knows his stuff very very well. Also, world civ with him is literally the easiest class I've ever taken at UB.

Bottom line: the class is a joke in terms of difficulty. Didn't care at all and still got an A. Boyd is the man though, he loves teaching and does his best to make lecture interesting. Best choice available, go with this guy if you can.

The bottom line is that the class is a complete joke in terms or difficulty, as gen-eds should be. Boyd is awesome though, he loves what he teaches and makes class as interesting as possible. I would definitely recommend, I wish he taught more courses.

Incredible teacher. Is very clear and makes world civ interesting. Has great TA's and recitations/reviews will make the tests incredibly easy. If you have a question on a test, raise a hand and he will tell you the answer. Easiest A ever.

The best UB professor ever! He maybe talks very fast, his writing maybe very...hurm, but his way of teaching is superb!

Dr. Boyd is really nice and funny. He tries hard make the class interesting, even though it isn't. Depending on what TA you get, the recitation is really easy and useful. Don't need the textbook. Tests are usually fairly easy.

I would say this class is an easy B considering I didnt even study. I just payed attention in class which isnt hard to do cause he makes the class fun and interesting. Dont buy a textbook you wont need it unless you want an A but im sure if you just used to study guide you wouldnt need the text. I didnt even use the study guide and got a B

Honestly one of the best and most understanding Professors! There is no final and Boyd greats an atmosphere that makes it difficult to not pay attention. He does expect some work out of you but the tests are NOT cumulative. Try to get Teddy as a TA and you will have an awesome semester! You must get this professor if possible, he really is great!!

He is the best teacher ever. He makes class exciting and brings props. The tests aren't too difficult and neither is the reading. Definitely the best experience I've had in a history class.

Took Boyd again because he's the best world civ professor you could ever take. I got over 100% on all the tests. It depends on who your TA is whether the quizzes are easy or not. my TA was teddy, who's the best! I highly recommend this class for your gen ed requirement.

Boyd is a very clear teacher. He is quite charismatic and happy and makes some funny jokes and references at times. Recitation is mandatory with attendance and quizzes. 4 tests which aren't bad at all if you show up to lecture, take notes, and study the night before. I got around 100 in the class. Try getting him if you don't mind going to lecture.

Fun and great professor. UGC112 was a lot easier than UGC111. Tests were pretty easy if you just reviewed the review sheet.

Good professor

He's humorous and cute in class. He holds review sessions before exams and loves what he is teaching. I've skipped class a lot but still managed an A because of a good recitation teacher and study guides he hands out.

Boyd is super funny and he loves his field. Go to class and take notes because that's the only way you are going to get them. Tests are super easy, graded by TA's who usually throw out questions that most people get wrong. He brings a lot of guest lectures and has each of his TA's lecture once. Easy A.

You're crazy if you don't pick this professor. Amazing guy. TAs re-teach everything in recitation. Zero homework and reading. Perhaps easier than 9th grade history class. GET TEDDY FOR TA.

Very easy, a little old school, and funny in his own slightly corny way. He hand writes his notes on an over-head projector as he's saying them, so you can definitely keep up. Just show up and copy the notes, easy A. He's very kind and honestly adores his subject, his job, and his students.

Easy Class

Great professor, makes lecture fun and interesting to follow. Easiest professor to take for World Civ.

Boyd is the best! But in order to do well in his class you MUST show up to every lecture. He doesn't post any of his material online so you have to rely on your own notes in class. He also is a little sporadic when it comes to giving his lectures so make sure you know hoe to take organized notes. Otherwise, his tests are DIRECTLY from the notes.

Dr Boyd is hilarious! For boring material he makes it worth going to class with his comments and jokes. Lectures are very simplistic. He writes on an overhead as he talks and all you have to do is copy his notes. Quizzes in recitation are very easy. 4 Exams, 2 of them have an essay portion. You get a week to prepare what you want to write for them.

Class is easy and he gives tons of review material for the exams. Exams are clear and easy so if you show up for lectures you need little to no study time.

Boyd is literally about the nicest professor you can ever get. You would get help during the examinations as long as you ask, and the exam review pretty much covers everything he is going to test so go for those.

Boyd is a gem. He's one of those professors that you can't help but laugh with. He clearly loves history and values his students. His TA's are all fantastic and super helpful. I always hated history but he makes it enjoyable. Closest to an "easy A" that you will get at UB. If you get less than a B+, you probably shouldn't be in college.

Class is so simple. Dr. Boyd is so funny and helpful. Definitely a professor you want to have! Exams are extremely basic. Just study and read over your lecture notes and you will do fine. TAs are great. Quizzes are very straightforward and easy. Even the 2 essays are shortbasic and you have over a week to prepare what to write. Get Boyd for UGC!!!

Professor Boyd was a super nice guy. There are 4 exams and weekly quizzes that are super easy if just show up and pay attention. You should have no problem getting an A with some effort.

If you see Dr. Boyd, you should rejoice that you can get into a class with him. Sit right up front and you will have some hilarious conversations, it's really worth it. Not a hard class, is you learn by taking notes just transcribe what he writes, it's exactly what the tests will be on.

Material in lecture explained clearly. Tests align closely with book and lecture material. Boyd really wants his students to succeed and also tells funny jokes. Assigned readings can be long though. He also has review sessions with review sheets and gives possible essay questions a week before the test for you to prepare. I highly recommend him.

Tests are pretty easy. 4 multiple choice/fill in the blank exams based on the lectures and 2 essays written in class. Show up to lecture and recitation, take notes, and read the book and you will do great in this course.

He is so freaking adorable. I love Boyd. In class he is just so passionate and excited about everything he teaches and he brings "artifacts" often to show to the class, even in our big Norton 112 lecture hall. And he is just hilarious. He randomly makes jokes that just crack me up. He's those type of professors that just make you smile.

Dr. Boyd is an old school professor; all work will be done on paper, and any online content is at the whims of his TA(s). Weekly quizzes exist mostly to enforce attendance, if you were there for the material you will pass them. Two short essays and 4 tests. Humorous and energetic lecture style with lots of imagery holds your attention well.

Very engaging professor and grading is very fair. Class is taught off the top of the Professor's head just by looking at visuals and he writes his notes, but the information is perfectly clear. Enjoyed this class.

I first got a D+ in Psychological Statistics because my prof wasn't that good. Retook with Timothy last winter. AMAZING teacher. I am not good at math/stats and got an A! Lectures at a steady pace, easy to understand, rounds exams if the class doesn't do as well, truly cares about what he's teaching, kind man, overall an excellent teacher!

Absolutely fantastic professor that manages to make the lecture of a pathway class something to look forward to every week. I would let this man talk about anything for hours, very engaging and more importantly, extremely helpful if you ever have any questions about anything. Boyd is a true gem of Buffalo.

I am a finance major and I thought this class was super fun class overall and super easy too. One of my favorite classes at UB and Im a senior. As long as you go to class and take down his notes then its an easy A. You just look at cool pictures and videos about weapons and stuff throughout history. He is also funny and crazy nice about things.

His lectures are usually interesting and even though (or maybe especially because) I'm an Engineering major, I look forward to his class. He brings cool stuff like actual spears, swords, shields & armours and has students make war formations. Course material isn't hard. Just don't miss his notes & you'll do great. I'd take again if I could. 10/10.

Guy is a king period. Older fellow with a lot of spunk and knows how to get the morning blues off of hungover college kids. The type of guy you wished was your grandfather. Very understanding of his students and loves when you participates, evens give out coins when you get things right. Straight legend.

Professor Boyd is an absolute legend at UB. CLL112 is one of the most fun and engaging classes I have ever taken. Grade wise, he gives weekly quizzes that are easy recaps of the in-class lectures. He gives 3 papers a year that are only 2 pages (double spaced). He brings ancient weapons and armor to class and is just a genuine, caring guy.

Hes one of the best professors i have. since we are remote due to COVID he is doing his best to accommodate students and he is one of the sweetest teachers possible. He sends us random dog pictures (the best) and assigns us no physical work to turn in even though i asked if i could turn in the questions. 10/10 would recommend.

During this pandemic, Professor Boyd was the professor to keep me going. He was always making sure us students were not too occupied with his work and gave very loose due dates for essays. There was a quiz every Friday, but they were super easy. Best professor I had this semester!

Boyd is an absolute comedian, he also makes lectures such a joy. I wish I took him in-person because under online learning he just sends you Word documents and calls them lectures. Though these documents were amazing to read though. This class is basically set up for an instant A in the class, even the papers take almost no effort.

Prof. Boyd is by far the funniest professor I've yet to have. It was definitely a really nice welcome into my first year of college (taken in fall 2020). The books we read were honestly pretty cool and surprising that I would not have read them if not for him.

Hes a funny, goofy, older guy and I took his monsters class and it was easy. You just have to semi pay attention to class discussion and maybe read the spark notes for the text.

I love this man. Hes the perfect mix of sweet and funny. He also shares my philosophy of teaching for knowledge sake which makes his classes so enjoyable. Weekly quizzes were flexible with your schedule. Essays encouraged creativity. Lectures were fascinating, mainly consisted of pictures and he would hand write the important information for us :)

The quizzes and exams are just questions based on the lecture notes, so make sure you go to class to write them down. The grading system is very fair and if you put in minimal effort you'll pass.

Honest to god, I wish other professors were like him. He is the standard everyone should follow. If I didn't want to be in my field so much, I would have switched over to what he was teaching. He makes everything interesting. A rare gem.

Has weekly quizzes but they are only 10 T or F questions, and he discusses the stories in detail in class - so make sure you read and come to class and you'll get an A.

I just took this class because I needed it for my pathways but after the first few lectures I fell in love with the class as it is very entertaining and easy to follow. On top of that this is probably the easiest class that I have ever taken.

Timothy Boyd is a professor who genuinely cares about both his job and his students. He is super passionate about teaching and has really awesome and fun lectures. He has a good sense of humor and is able to make people laugh. The only reason why I got an A- is because I, admittedly, didn't put much effort into the (only one) essay for the class.

This man single-handedly upholds the spirit of the Classics department, nay, the entire University at Buffalo. Shows clear passion for his work, is understanding, and does his utmost to make even the most seemingly tedious topics interesting and engaging, and in this he succeeds tremendously.

Class grades consist of weekly quizzes and three exams. All of which are online, w/o respondus, and not in class. Quizzes are 10 true or false questions based on the weeks lectures. Easy to get missed notes, and he is very understanding, as are the assistant professors.

Weekly quizzes take maybe 10 minutes to complete. If you could get notes from friends, you don't have to be there at the lecture(even though it's fun and the professor is very passionate). Exams are pretty long, there are 3 in total, not cumulative, some are true or false some are simple multiple choice. Nothing difficult, just gotta pay attention.

Attendance is not required but if you do miss class then you wont have the notes for the weekly quiz. All of his quizzes are based on his notes taken during class so if you can get the notes from a friend you are gonna be good. One of the easiest pathways ive taken and the workload was super light you just gotta show up to class

Great professor. Genuinely cares about what he does and is passionate about his field. He did a great job keeping the class engaged. Stone Axe to Tank was one of my favorites if not my favorite class. A really great professor and a really great class, a strong example of why UB shouldn't cut funding to the humanities.

I had Professor Boyd for my fall seminar class. I loved his infectious enthusiasm for teaching. You could tell he genuinely loved what he did, and that passion radiated throughout the classroom. That class was one of the classes I genuinely looked forward to.

Professor Boyd's lectures are engaging and fun. While attendance is mandatory, his notes cover the key material. Unstuckstudy AI and ChatGPT were helpful for exam prep. Definitely recommend taking this class.

Very funny, witty old man who's very passionate about the subject. Attendance isn't taken for a grade, but lectures consisted of image slideshows which he would narrate; missing class pretty much meant that you couldn't learn the material for that week. Tests and quizzes were available all day, so you had plenty of time to do them. 10/10

Professor Boyd is an awesome professor all around. He clearly cares about the subject and has a passion for teaching it. He posts all required materials online and even extra material for those interested. He is an extremely easy grader, only 3 exams and a handful of 10 question quizzes, all of which are easy if you go to class.

Beware, this year, for the first time, he began giving closed-note exams in person!!!

90% of your grade is 3 exams that are 80 questions each IN PERSON. THIS CLASS IS NO LONGER AN EASY A CLASS YOU NEED TO STUDY A LOT AND GO TO EVERY CLASS.

beware, 90% of your total grades are from exams and 10% online quiz. I wouldn't mind the exam if it were not 60/80 questions (relatively easy) it's hard to get all these questions right considering I attended every lecture and studied for the exam. He is a great human being, cares about us, but the grading and course structure needs consideration.

Need to attend class only graded on 3 exams if you don't do good on them you will fail the course.

Hilarious and passionate professor. Go to most lectures and take notes and the class is an easy A. There's no homework but only a couple of quizzes, exams, and a final that you're graded on so you have to do well on those but as long as you attended class most of the time, you'll be fine.

Timothy Boyd is a caring and kind professor! However - do not take this class thinking it's an "easy A" anymore. I honestly liked learning the material - but you are only graded on quizzes & 3 exams, closed note and in-person. There's a lot of information, so each exam I would have to stay up all night to study for it - and you need to go to class!

The professor is great. Would definitely recommend. I took this class thinking it would be a easy A but it's really easy to get a A- or less since the class is based on 3 exams that you have to study for. Still recommend though, make sure to study and attend lectures.
