Professor Chase knows his stuff. He recently received his PhD & relates to his students. He doesn't deduct points for silly mistakes on tests and does whatever he can to help you understand. Gives lots of extra credit. His passion inspires students who aren't even into Calculus, and his nerdy humor tops it all off. Chase genuinely loves Calculus.

Dr. Chase is a phenomenal teacher. He is very straightforward and explains things very clearly. He makes the material interesting and has a sense of humor. The exams are also graded very reasonably.

Tests can be a bit tough, but just go over the recommended problems from the book and you'll be golden. He was awesome! He loves helping and encourages questions. I dreaded taking Cal but he made it ok. Definitely recommend him!

Fantastic teacher, but super hard material! You can tell he loves what he does and wants everyone else to feel the same. His attendance quizzes saved my grade and he will go out of his way if he needs to for you to understand the material. I suck at math and I think any other prof. would've failed me. Bus Cal is not an easy class but Dr Chase is probably the best proffesor to take for this subject he really enjoys Math and you can see it in his lectures and he is very willing to help

I am not great at math but he was very helpful during office hours. Tests are hard but he gives a lot of partial credit and extra credit. I would take him if you struggle at math.

The best professor I've had in terms of clarity and personality. His grading was very fair; expect him to make challenging tests more manageable by allowing students to "choose 1 of 2 problems", etc. Dr. Chase has such a passion for mathematics that it will start to rub off on you. Approachable.

Easily the best (&favorite) prof I had this semester. The only reason you need the book is for homework, so the ebook might be a better option. He's more than willing to work with you during office hours. Gives partial credit so as long as you write something down you'll get credit. The tests are super tough, but he is a great professor! He is always willing to help and go to the final review sessions because they helped me. Make a study group early in the semester because if you don't get something they can help. I've never studied for a math class before this one but you will need to study because it is a lot of material.

Best you'll get at texas state. Everyone else is crazy with expectations. Dr. Chase is very reasonable. Genuine dude, kinda nerdy but funny and cool at the same time. Professor Chase is a PHENOMENAL teacher and lector. I have taken this class twice with decent professors but he is BY FAR the best. His lectures are interesting and never a waste of time. His test are difficult but very fair. He will do anything and everything to make sure his class fully understands the material. If you want the best, its him.

Took for Calculus 2. He gets sidetracked a bit on theory, whereas I would prefer simple step by step listings of process. Lab sucks, total waste of time, but he's there usually to answer questions at least. Great guy, knows his math, very nice, good professor.

Dr. Chase is by far one of the best professors that I have ever had the pleasure of taking. He is exceptional at describing processes as well as making complex tasks seem menial for those students who get lost easily. His tests are difficult, but there are plenty of opportunities to make great grades in his class. 10/10 would take his class again!

He is extremely passionate about math, he loves it. He will occasionally geek out over a certain concept. He is great at explaining the material and making sure everyone understands it. Had him at 8am and he was always energetic and excited about math, even after he had a sleepless night caring for his kids. He is an amazing professor and person.

By far the best math teacher I've ever had. He wants all of his students to succeed and is so supportive. You'll really have to work for a good grade, and his tests are pretty difficult, but being in his class will make you passionate about math if you're not already. Tests are SUPER SUPER HARD!!! I was never able to finish them. However, he gives you credit for the work and that was so helpful. If you have to take Math1329 take it with him believe me you will not regret it. Yes his exams are hard, but he explains the material really well. You have to do the homework and you have to study.

Chase is a fantastic teacher! He's an obvious math nerd and is really into the material, but understands that not everyone feels that way. He works with you to help you understand the material. The only downside is that his tests are HARD. However, he makes up for this be being EXTREMELY generouswith extra/partial credit. Take him!

The only professor that I have ever felt inspired to write a RMP for in my 3 years at Texas State. Chase is a genius mathematician as well as an experienced teacher. Expect to leave this class wanting to change your major to math.

Hands down the most amazing professor! I am so incredibly grateful I have had the opportunity to take his class. He is always there %100 for his students and does an AMAZING job of explaining mathmatics. If naturally math isn't your favorite, take his class and it will be!

Like any math class, practice is key. Dr. Chase is wonderful. He is all about second chances and wants everyone to succeed. He does reviews before exams and is more than willing to help outside of class if you are struggling with any material. Take good notes, complete the practice exams he provides, and do the homework (don't just use Google).

Dr. Chase is very passionate in math. He explains concepts very clearly, and definitely puts effort in what he teaches, what order he presents information, and how to approach problems. He's more than willing to help any time he can, but the tests are HARD. Offers about 6-8 EC points every test, uses MyMathLab, and drops a few HW/quizzes.

This is actually the kindest human being ever. Not only does he have a real love for math, he legitimately wants to see you succeed. I'm not good at math but I got a B in the class. He's super funny and his bonus is always movie related. 10/10 Recommend

Took him in the summer after making an F in Algebra the first time. Not sure how, but I made a B in his class. He's that great of a professor. His tests are hard but he gives good bonuses and always tries his best to help you out.

Great dude, he literally loves math; however, his lectures are all over the place and gets lost in the theories. His tests are pretty hard but he uses a lot of questions from the book. Labs are pointless if your TA isn't the best.

Dr. Chase is very dedicated to teaching his class and lights up the room with enthusiasm. He has fun bonus questions at the end of every test and allows you to do make up work on tests. Going to class is very important and he counts attendance for random days as a test grade.

I was a huge mathaphobe that turned into a math geek after I took Dr. Chase's class. He is super enthusiastic about math and comes to class with a smile everyday, he even shows up to labs to help students as much as possible. I added a math minor after taking Dr. Chase's class. He was ALWAYS available to help me with anything - I even sat in his office and went through flashcards with him. Just go to lecture, do the practice, and ask questions. He wants you to succeed! Dr. Chase is one of the BEST professors you can ever have! He took over our online section for Dr. Healey, and I was EXTREMELY happy with his handling of our class. Dr. Chase will help you with math proofs in a way that make them make SENSE to you. He goes very slow and is extremely charismatic for his students. Please take him if you possible can!

After asking around what professor to take for Calc 2, everyone agrees it should be Professor Chase. I had him for an MTWTR class at 8 am, and every day he was ready and energies to teach. The enthusiasm he had while teaching made it enjoyable to be in the room, especially at 8 am. Don't consider taking another professor, you will regret it.

very thorough in lectures, tries his best to make sure students understand lectures. Tests are also easier than the Cengage HW. His lectures teach you better ways to solve the problems than the HW wants you to use. Also test are pretty easy as long as you pay attention. Dr. Chase was amazing! If you struggle in math I would take him. He is very detailed in lecture and gives particle credit on test! Would do a quizzes in class sometimes but they were participation grades so easy 100. He also would go over them immediately after. At the end of the semester he gave us an opportunity to do test correction on one test

I've only taken IBL structured classes with Dr. Chase, and they've all been super fun! He cuts people loose in groups and has them prove things themselves, which in my case helped foster a lot of confidence in proof writing. He loves guiding people towards an answer while encouraging them to think for themselves. It's not always easy, but it works!

I love Dr. Chase. The ones who show up to class do great and the ones who don't struggle. If you struggle, he has office hours Mon-Thurs. He is a great dude and has a great heart. I am taking him again next year.

Dr. Chase is an amazing prof. I've taken him for cal 1 & 2 and he breaks tough concepts down to where they are understandable. He does partial credit on tests which is a life saver and he posts exam reviews that are very similar to the actual exam. Homework is not graded harshly and if you show up, it is very very easy to pass his class

This class is difficult, but because Calculus as a topic is difficult. Dr Chase is an amazing professor and does his best to accurately explain everything. I'm generally not that good at math, but he made it a lot easier. He loves math, so he's super passionate about teaching. Only downside is there are lots of homework assignments.

Truly cares about the subjects he teaches and makes them extremely fun while making sure every student understands the content. It is high level math so make sure you ask questions and do the assigned homework. Goes out of his way to assist students in their learning and attends the labs himself. He is a loose grader with partial credit since no questions are multiple choice.He gave opportunity for extra credit on all exams and even the final and also offers to let you do test corrections on one exam the whole semester and it is a real-life saver.I loved him so much he is so sweet and loves what he is doing,and he makes it so easy to learn.

He was a super chill and nice professor, but his teaching was kind of confusing. He takes forever to grade homework's and other assignments. He gives you the opportunity to change your homework answers as many times as you want to get 100. He is alright.

Amazing professor. Apparently used to be a very harsh teacher several years ago, but he was absolutely amazing. It's a difficult subject, but he makes it very understandable. Definitely come to class, but attendance is not required. He uses the textbook for MathLab Hw, but disagreed with some of the weird phrasing/organization. Very caring/helpful

Dr Chase is an amazing professor. He really cares about his students grasping the concept of calculus, and he makes it seem easy. He always lets us know what will be covered in exams, and he gives extra credit. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he doesn't use lecture slides, so you should show up if you want your notes (you do).

Very laid back and made calculus II as enjoyable as calculus II is. The homework was a lot especially if you're a procrastinator but not difficult.

Prof TimC is my LeBron James! He ran back and forth from buildings in opposite sides of campus to teach 6 sections, grade over 300 students exams in the same week, and never to my knowledge ever missed his 9AM office hours. He cared so much about you learning because the only thing this man loves more than calculus is teaching 11/10 prof take him!!
