I hated this teacher he SUCKS! he is way 2 hard. the midterm sucks 2 papers plus studying all ur notes. DONT TAKE THIS TEACHER!! THERE r way better teachers out there then him.
He has pop quizes on the daily readings that are too difficult. He askes very specific questions and most of the class fails the quizes despite studying. His tests don't seem to be much better either. He is also an music major so he likes to go over sheet music and such with us . He is a nice guy but still has to loosen up a bit.
wht was said is true he does need 2 loosen up. he is a crazy teacher wants u 2 read 10 pages a day then gives us pop quizzes tht r way 2 hard i would b suprized if any1 passes his class its only hun 1101. the midterm is nuts no multiple choice idk y he is a teacher is not helpful at all he needs 2 find a new job
omg this is my favorite prof. ever he is so funny and laid back. all you have 2 do is go to class and sit there and youll pass... his quizzes are so easy.. they are only 5 questions long.. it was a really fun class and he does not make you write a paper
Good Teacher. It's not as laid back as someone here says. However, if u read the book and do exactly what he says-u will get an A. U do have to put in effort, but u will be happy if u do. There's only 2 tests(no final) -which he gives a study guide for-and then 10 quizes and a paper to write(which better have good grammer or else he'll fail that.
He is a great teacher. Extremely knowledgeable about this subject. Willing to help and give you extra time on your paper if needed. He is Hilarious! Cracks jokes in his lectures that are subtle but funny. Very hard class though. A midterm and a Final (easy). 10 Reading tests (not so easy). If you work hard, it will pay off.
He's a funny and laid back guy. He told us we'd have pop quizzes, but he'd always announce them. It's hard, but if you do the reading and study well, you should get a good grade. There's one paper, reading quizzes and a midterm and final. He's not the best teacher if you're looking for an easy A
I would not recommend this teacher to anybody. He is very hard. quizzes are based on the reading you do. no multiple choice test.. eassy make you remember a;l the defination, arts and short and long essay question. very hard
He is a VERY knowledgeable professor. His lectures are always extremely interesting, since he keeps you on your toes with funny quips. The reading quizzes can be challenging, but in the end they dont count for that much. The essay is easy and the tests arent too bad either. He is a very insightful and encouraging teacher, very passionate.
He is very passionate about what he does. His class is very interesting. I learned a lot from his class and got a better apprechiation for art. He is a laid back person. Quizzes are hard. The midterm and the final aren't to bad. He gives you the question. How you do depends on how much time you took to find the answers. Cool guy. I recommand him.
He is a pretty cool guy, he knows what he is talking about and he seems to really like it. The lectures were okay. There's a reading quiz every week and its 5 questions and it's based on the reading. so you have to READ the book. The mid term and the final are "brutal" he said it himself, he does give you a study guide but you really have to study.
ahh hes an awesome teacher! laughs at stupid things for a while but he will tell you whats exactly on the midterm/final even approves your outline if you do it late like i did...even if you believe something is right on ur exam, he will give you points if you prove to him that you know what you are doing
Good teacher overall. Typically laid back, has good sense of humor, and classes are typically fun as well as interesting. Presents material in an easy-to-understand way. Keeping up with the reading assignments is a must in order to pass the pop quizzes. Midterm and final are (in my opinion) unnecessarily difficult for an intro course.
I took him in the fall and I thought the class was really interesting and fun. He was really laid back and pretty funny. I thought the paper and the midterm/final were easy even though he said otherwise. I don't know if he works at COD anymore because he's not under faculty listing on the website. Too bad. He was a cool teacher.
He is still teaching at COD..you have to come to class and there are pop quizes every once in a while. I thought the class was sort of boring, but nothing extreme. He says funny things every now and then.
So his class is a bit difficult but hes super awesome and makes the pretty boring subject pretty interesting! Definitely enjoyed coming to class.
I love this teacher! Our class is so funny and it is the class i actually want to go to. His lectures and power points are so well done. Ive never seen a teacher so well prepared in the knowledge of his class. He is very witty and funny and i really recommend taking this class
he mad this class fun. he takes attendance, but trust me, its worth going. he's very well prepared and organized and definitley knows his stuff. he has quizzes, theyre pretty tough, you definitley need to use the book and the midterm tests are hard, i recommenend studying, but he gives you a sheet with what going to be on it. i recommend him!!
Prof. Clifford is amazing! After reading previous comments it sounds like he has changed alot. He doesn't have pop quizzes anymore and the paper seemed pretty easy. I have'nt taken the midterm yet but he gave us a sheet that literally had the test on it. Everything that was going to be on the test was on the sheet. It's important to read the book t
I absolutely ADORE Mr. Clifford. Aside from being prepared for all his classes, he is also very funny. Basically just a midterm, paper, and then the final. Obviously, since its just these three things to be graded on, there is going to be a lot of info. However, well worth it. He is wonderful
very good teacher. makes the best out of a boring class- makes the class interesting. definatly recommend him, cuz all u have to worry about is a midterm, final and a summary, which are very straight forward, you will definatly know, what is going to be on your exam. he is really great!
Had to work hard for my A, but he was extremely helpful. The tests are hard though his study guides give you everything you need to know. His paper is also hard. The class is more of an art class than a humanities class, but I honestly don't care. Attendance in mandatory, you are given 3 absent days and thats it. Overall, I would recommend.
This was the only class I looked forward to last semester. Mr. Clifford is very entertaining. The best part is that you'll know what you'll be tested on ahead of time. He gives you a handout that tells you what the essay questions are going to be on, and what sculpture/painting we need to know for the exam. One of the best instructors in COD.
Very little work to do. Attendance is mandatory, but you won't mind since the class is enjoyable!
Excellent professor! Made class enjoyable. Good sense of humor.
Do yourself a favor and just take this class! Attendance is mandatory, but he makes those three hours fly by. A lot of reading, but it makes the class more comprehensible, and he has a unique way of making the material memorable. Grading consisted of a midterm, an essay and a final, however everything is covered so no suprises and he is accessible.
One of the best professors i have ever had in 3 years at COD. lot of book use but it pays off on the midterm/final. powerpoints well organized, attendance is mandatory but he makes class fun so you look forward to going. makes boring subject interesting. interacts with you like your a person, not just a student. HGHLY RECCOMEND TAKING.
He is an amazing teacher. he is funny and really cute! as long as you study you will pass. he gives the whole test to you two weeks before the test, you just have to study the material. his class is not boaring its fun, and very interesting. there is a 2 page summary and a mid-term and final. thats it! HE ROCKS!
Very nice/funny guy! Class lectures are notes on Power Point, but he goes into detail. No h/w but reading is recommended. 2 exams w/ study guides posted 2 weeks before & 1 art analysis paper. I definitely liked this class & I recommend him!
Awesome teacher! Definitely need to take his class. You have two finals and a paper thats it. His lectures are very interesting. I love going to his class. And hes hilarious ...and hes hot. But most of all hes a really good teacher you will learn alot in his class.
He is an amazing teacher! I dont even need to say much because everyone else's rates do him justice. I will always respect him as a teacher and appreciate everything that he brought to class.
Love love love this professor. So funny, so concise, makes the subject so interesting. One midterm, one big paper, and one final. They were easy in my opinion, so long as you pay attention in class. Attendance is practically mandatory-- you won't want to miss that much material anyway. TAKE HIS CLASS!
this guy is easy, neat and oranized. He gives his study guide 2 weeks prior to the 2 finals. Term paper is only 2 pages. i loved this class
He's a good teacher in the sense that he explains everything well, and tries his best to make the class interesting. However there's only 1 real assignment aside from the midterm and final, so if you mess up on one, your grade can go pretty low.
he is awful! one of the worst teachers i have ever had. i had the stomach flu and a dr note and droped my grade bc i missed too many days. will not drop you past the schools deadline is, which is the midterm so you dont know how you will do until after the schools deadline, he thinks a lot of himself. he is a pretencious ass
He is a very nice teacher. You only have 2 tests and that is the midterm and the final. They are difficult though. He expects you to know how to spell all the artworks and artists. You have one assignment and that is a paper on a recent article but it has to be perfect. He does give extra credit. Attendance is mandatory! Very nice professor!!
Clifford is strict, but if you are a dedicated student he is more apt to being lenient. Attend class, take good notes, pay attention and you will get a good grade. He is also very personable and funny. This was an excellent course. He also has open book tests. If you want to learn, take him. If you want to slack off, don't. You need the books.
Prof. Clifford is average at best. He had almost a childish sense of humor that I did not find amusing. He was not very helpful to many students in the class. He doesn't give many assignments which is a positive, however the mid-term and the final exam are fairly challenging. Overall I give him a D+.
This teacher is Amazing! He gives you the questions to the midterm and the final all you have to do is a good amount of research and you have an A! BUT if you tend to miss class often do not take this class. He goes over questions that are on the midterm and final during class and info can not be found in the book.
Such a great teacher! He is enthusiastic and enjoys what he teaches which is refreshing. It makes class interesting because he is excited. He isn't strict, he's logical. He thinks that if you pay for a class, then you should attend the class. He thinks you should give everything you do your best. I think that's true and it's a good outlook on life.
a very nice teacher, very helpful, easy. just mideterm, final and one easy research paper.
Exams are extremely difficult unless you are a genious you cannot get an A. He says that too that only 1 percent of students receive full grade in his class
He's very friendly, creatively and well-informed professor I have had so far. He has a very strict attendance policy because of his thought (student pay for the class -> have to come to study), but not really strict at the end (more logical I can think he is).2 exams, 1 summary article. He go over all the questions of the exam, so u'll be fine
very hard grader, don't take his class unless you are a die hard humanities (art) lover
Great guy, very nice. Makes the subject more interesting and I did not mind going to class. No homework, but has quizes and only 2 tests. He grades on an all or nothing basis which makes the tests harder but he teaches what he asks on his tests. Attend class, pay attention and take notes and you will be ok.
He is the best teacher I had so far.Prof.Clifford is a nice guy, funny and he knows his subject. You can get an A if you attend the class, listen to everything he says, write the notes. I learnt a lot in this class and I never knew I would love art so much!I would recommend this class!By the way Prof.Clifford knows how to dress and he is a good-look
He is the best teacher I had so far.Prof.Clifford is a nice guy, funny and he knows his subject. You can get an A if you attend the class, listen to everything he says, write the notes. He's very good professor. online quizzes r easy. only thing i do not like is his all or none based grading system. take his class u will enjoy!! remember to take notes of power points.
Prof. Clifford seems a little strict on the first day but after that he's really nice and knows the material really well. I learned a lot in this class. His tests were straight-forward. As long as you study and take good notes you'll do well.
Make sure you attend class and read the chapters for the online quizzes - you will have to take notes for the final. Overall though, he is a great teacher and is really personable. Took the 8-week version of the class and is pretty easy.
Awesome Professor, One of the best I've had at COD. Very clear on instructions, if you do what is expected from you his class is not that hard. Just show up and do the work, he's funny and makes the topic very interesting and fun. He's also very easy to reach, and very willing to help you if you need anything.
Mr. Clifford was by far my favorite professor at COD. On the first day he told us his class would change our lives, and that's exactly what it did. Topics stretch your mind to where you haven't taken it before. DO THE WORK; he will make you feel very accomplished and proud at the end of this class. I loved every minute of the course!
He was an AMAZING teacher! I just showed up to class, did the work which was straight forward, and participated and I got an A. He keeps the class interesting and made me want to be there and there's never a dull moment! If he taught any other classes I would take them without a doubt! Hands down the best teacher I've ever had!
Great teacher. Makes the best out of what is not an interesting topic. Clear on everything he wants done, and will not put you to sleep in his class. One of the best teachers I have had so far. Would recommend to anyone taking Humanities.
Tim is great!!!! hes is very clear of what he expects from you and he makes the class fun, he is funny and knows what hes talking about, he gives a lot of personal examples and its easy to remember the material. there is not a lot of homework, just a typed page once a week. if you have a chance to take him DO IT!!!
Good teacher. He has anecdotes and little stories for everything. Teaches from powerpoint, but still engages the class.
Easiest class I have ever taken in my life! You have to go to class, but if you do you will pass with flying colors. Highly recommended easiest A you will ever earn, hardly any homework, tests are a joke and online quizzes once a week. Definitely take this class, you won't regret it! Professor Clifford is super nice and will help you if you need it
He is an amazing teacher! The class is super easy and very engaging! Just read the book and take notes during class. Tests and quizzes are all from his lectures!!! You seriously can't fail!!!
I took this class honors and it was by far one of the best teachers/classes I've ever had! He knows this subject well, and always shares great stories and examples. His tests aren't easy, and you do need to take notes. A big project requires a trip to the Art Institute. The books are a must purchase
What can I say... only the truth! This is intro class but I had to put so much effort to get a low B! he grades hard sometimes and seeks for perfection!
Prof. Clifford is very funny and keeps the class engaged. you can do good on the tests if you take good notes and study well! It is a very enjoyable class and I recommend it!
Funny and kind teacher. Makes class fun and keeps you engaged. I knew nothing about humanities prior to this class, and now I think it is so interesting. There are readings each week and every Thursday you type and turn in a reading response. He is a great teacher I reccomend him!
great teacher very interesting and a funny guy. 10 ten point online quizzes, 2 25 point group tests, 4 50point unit exams, and 40 points for attendance. all you need to do is come to class and take notes to pass, but reading the chapters definitely helps out. easy going class and lots of interesting information presented
ONE OF THE BEST TEACHERS IVE HAD AT COD. HE IS NICE, FUNNY, LAID BACK,UNDERSTANDING. HE DOESNT GIVE MUCH HWK OR HARDLY ANY. LOVED THE 10 POINT QUIZZES. KEEPS CLASS TALKING. GREAT CLASS OBJECTIVES.VERY INTERESTING CLASS. EASY. FUN. HE IS STRAIGHT FORWARD.
He seeks perfection. My least favorite class at COD. Even if you're half a point away from getting better grade, he will still give you lower grade.
he is a really good teacher but reading responses r mandatory and he grades it very strictly. Also he gave us 20 review questions for exam and only 5 questions will be on test but the test was on all the 20 questions.
Very good teacher. The class had a lot of reading but the reading was pretty easy. Mr. Clifford was really funny and very chill. As long as you let him know if you would be absent in advance it was no problem. I would definitely recommend him! :)
Not interested in humanities, so class started off pretty difficult. Became easier over time. Really big on his students looking for deeper meaning and connections. Somewhat slow in grading and feedback. Class consisted of discussion board posts, blog posts, tests, and essays. Recommend him but be prepared to spend some extra time with this class.
Makes discussion easy. Very unbiased, considers all opinions. Fair amount of work but it actually does help you understand the topic further. Highly recommend. Good sense of humor as well.
I thoroughly enjoyed this class because of his personality. Discussions are a regular thing and help you think about the topic. If you don't do the reading assignments then good luck. They're not hard and you have to type a 1 page paper or so each week for response questions. You get used to it and realize its not that bad. GREAT TEACHER!
Great professor! would recommend him to anyone. course consists of 4 exams-50pts ea, 2 group test-25pt ea, 10 online quizzes- 10 pt ea, and attendence-40 pts. no papers! would take him again. exmas are not too hard if u take good notes!
Literally most ridiculous teacher I have ever had. THIS IS A HUMANITIES CLASS. not an english class. Failed me on many assignments because of spelling errors. Its an online class…. I emailed him and asked what i could change and it was useless. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
This professor was the worst. I received C few semesters ago, very hard grader. One mistake on your essay could cost you a whole letter. grade.
By far one of the best professors Ive ever had i would highly recommend him for ANY humanities class Humanities isn''t really my thing but he make it fun and i honestly learn so much without even realizing it I also appreciate that he didn''t make us do any group projects You do need so study some for this class sometimes there are group tests.
Professor Clifford is hillarious! He made the class so much fun and always had good jokes. Study the notes from the power points he puts up and you should be fine.
He's super helpful and hilarious! Love his class on food and culture. He gives pretests-post tests and they're awesome!
Professor Clifford is one of the best teachers I've had at COD. He is very helpful. His tests are super easy because you take a pre-test before each unit and the pretest is the post test. He may seem like a hard teacher the first week but after that he warms up. I would recommend this professor to anybody!! You will not regret taking this class.
Doesn't understand that not everyone in that class is a Humanties major. Doesn't seem to care if you fail he tries to act all nice but when it comes to grading it's bad. One little mistake, he makes hard test and if you want a word bank he drops you a whole letter grade. I would not take him again
Showed up every day did the assignments studied for test and still couldn't pass
Honestly, the tests are ridiculous. I don't like that we have to give specific examples, and give the exact painting name, etc. The easiest thing about this class was probably the Scavenger Hunt other than that, it's super hard! Do not recommended this professor. He is hilarious, but boy is he a tough grader. :
This guy is a HORRIBLE teacher. He is an ok guy outside of class but his grading is insane. Can't spell? Good luck. Bad at english? He wants proper sentences. Interested in the small details that no one would think of asking on tests? This guy is for you. My final grade on BB was a B but my final grade ended up being a C. Why? It "wasn't updated".
Tough grader. If you are an A student expect a B or C. While feedback is helpful I found him to be a very critical teacher and expects things to be perfect in the discussion board posts and papers. If you do take the course, make sure you cover a vast amount of topics because he deducts points. Class is ok but I wouldn't recommend him. Good luck!
He was great! Gives clear information on how you will be graded. Provides good feedback and is available if you have questions As long as you study, you should do fine.
Mr. Clifford is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He really pushed me to do my best and made humanities fun and interesting. Class discussion were interesting and he is really funny. I would absolutely take another class with him.
Mr. Clifford is a great teacher. He usually does a good job at introducing a lesson in an exciting way, and does a good job at teaching the lessons as well. Everything he shows in class will be posted on blackboard. He makes sure we understand the lessons well, so the tests require detailed answers. But he posts a study guide, take advantage of it
This course was my favorite class this semester. His grading is very specific and he does not fail to remind his students exactly what it is that he is looking for when it comes to tests and projects. There were no presentations in this course (which for me was a plus, I'm not big on presenting). He posts good study guides and is really funny.
Syllabus is specific with due dates and what your discussion boards require. He is quick to email back and post grades.
Very funny, open, treats you like adults. Very smart when it comes to history.
He is big on participation. Even if you do participate you might not get an A. I was at an 89 for his class and paricipated everyday..... Still got a B.
About 6 exams in the semester and each are the same format. The study guides given are exactly what will be on the exam. Attendance is not that important as long as you are up to date with everything. Provides a lot of extra credit and is always willing to help.
Professor Clifford was awesome. We had a paper that was 500 words that we wrote every two weeks, so 7 papers. 2 tests, the midterm and the final, he gives you the exact answers the class before, very easy to pass the class if you try. It was also pretty interesting, would definitely take again
Proffesor Clifford is an amazing, down-to-earth person, and that's why you have to work for your grade. He assigns homework every night, but it's nothing unmanageable! I really recommend him.
Honestly I thought this class would be an easy A online. I was wrong. I struggled to write discussion posts that were good enough for this prof. When i asked for help he just told me to look at other students work. Not an easy teacher thats for sure.
I was worried to take him after some of the negative comments I saw, but ended up really enjoying him. He gives you unit study guides which are the exact same format of the test. Still a lot of studying involved and reading but manageable for an A. Really made you think in a different way and I now appreciate art way more than I did before.
Can be quite an awesome experience. Tim is highly educated and intelligent, and HILARIOUS. He is very open minded, respectful, attentive and cares about opening the minds of his students. The truly fascinating content of the required reading can lead to class discussions worth participating in. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. One of my best teachers EVER.
Mostly reads off Prezi, of all things. Lectures are pretty boring, he only took attendance 1/3 days of the week, mostly assigned lots of inane homework and reading. You can read the prezis from home but he test on things from class discussions. Read the book and do the work and you'll get an A. He does has a good sense of humor.
I found Mr. Clifford to be a great teacher. He is very passionate about what he teaches and he keeps you interested. The only thing you really need to do for his class is read the assigned pages before the class and you will be fine. He is also easy to talk to and very funny at times. Would definitely take again.
I had him for humanities 1101 ONLINE.. a really tough grader.. I hated humanities after taking this class with him and will never take another humanities class or this instructor.. I took religion 1100 instead of humanities 1102. Because i was required to take 2 classes from the section.
Take him for honors if you can. Discussions are entertaining & engaging. You read assigned pages and get points for writing discussion questions and discussing the pages. Doesn't accept late work so if you're sick and miss class that's automatically -10 points, which isn't really fair. Highly values the opinions of his students.
I took Humanities 1101 online with, professor Clifford & it was the best decision I made! You do have to read and write discussion posts on every unit, but it is nothing hard! Just do your reading! The tests were a breeze, you get to use your book and/or notes. You do have to do a scavanger hunt at the end of the semester, but it was really easy!
Prof. Clifford was a really nice teacher. It was annoying that he would do some assignments for either all of the points, or none. He is really funny, and the class is pretty straightforward. Use your textbook, and take notes (even if they're off of Prezi).
If you are looking for an easy online class to take that won't take up too much of your time PLEASE take this class. It's very easy and very doable. I would take an online class again with this professor because he is very helpful and just great overall. For the exams all you need to do is watch his lectures and use his prezis and you WILL get an A
Clifford offers easy extra credit opportunities, do the readings you will do great on Tests. It is a must to show up for class everyday. No final no midterm. Does NOT accept late work. It is a test for every unit... but they're a breeze if you study and do all the hw. Very Helpful and cares a lot about his students. Rent the textbook. TAKE!
Overall a fantastic professor. Just attend class and do the readings consistently, which are 10-12 pages for every class. Great sense of humor, and the tests aren't hard. He gives study guides and covers all of the material on the tests in class, so I highly recommend taking his class if you can.
You have to participate in class and this is worth 10 points a week. I have talked at least every class and he still gave me a zero. I am an A student and got a C in his class. When you want to participate he calls on others or talks all class so you can't participate. Horrible classroom set up not to mention his tacky jokes that nobody laughs at.
Arguably the best professor I've ever had. Took the class online, and he was super insightful and thoughtful, and provided great feedback on all my posts. He's extremely friendly, and cares for his students. Got a B in the class because I didn't take the readings/tests seriously, but is an easy A if you follow his directions precisely.
Mr. Clifford was easily one of the best professors I've had in college. There are no tests only two small papers every couple weeks that are a fair assessment of what you've learned. Class includes only discussing what you've read in your textbook and participation counts. Mr. Clifford is very friendly and nice, easy to talk to. Would recommend.
I highly recommend taking Humanties with Professor Tim. His lectures are amazing and participation is a big part of your grade. He's also so caring and sweet to his students.
Professor Clifford was a fun Humanities professor. There are no tests, just very easy weekly quizzes. Be prepared to spend a couple of hours at the end of each unit writing a Critical Analysis (There was a total of 6 in this class). He is very particular with what he wants completed, as long as you follow the rubrics, you'll ace these assingments.
At first, there was a lot of homework, but i got used to the load, and it was all about art. He was a really cool teacher, and made art fun. He was a tough grader at first, but follow what he is asking in his rubrics, and you will get an A. He takes class participation, and if you talk once a lecture and say legit anything, you will get extra credi
AMAZING! I love him! But if you don't like to participate DAILY, don't take him. Every day matters with points of participation and attendance, you have 6 reflection papers and 2 exams a cultural experience. It's about art, it's very interesting and eye-opening I learned a lot! out of 500 points you just need to be involved in the class. Do it!
Tim is pretty great. His class is a discussion, literally!!! That is a big part of your grade! you also have daily homework but it's not tedious and in the long run worth doing since it adds up. if you have a class that talks the hour goes by super quick and is full of great discussions and you actually make friends or at least see how people think
Tim is an amazing professor and he is very passionate about the arts. Every class was basically a group discussion and the majority of your grade is made up of participation. There are 6 papers, one for each chapter covered. He gives really good feedback too! It is a fairly easy class as long as you participate and read the text.
Tim is a great professor. You can tell hes super passionate about his work and the success of his students. Every class is your chance to earn points. Just a casual discussion of the assigned reading. 6 reflection papers that are a breeze if you read the book and no tests, just the mid term and final.
Tim is by far one of my favorite professors. He is hilarious and very caring. The class is discussion based and you NEED to read the book and do the home work in order to get credit and pass. He is very understanding and participates in all of the discussions. If you do the work and come to class, you can easily get an A.
Tim is possibly my favorite professor I took at COD. He has the most interesting lectures and the Ideas & Values class was so thought-provoking and opened my eyes a lot. You definitely do need to keep up with the readings, but each book we covered was a quick, easy read and really fascinating too. Take him!!!
I took his intro and it included 4 books, 4 tests, 4 papers, and who knows if it had a final. I needed to drop this class because grading relied on participation which was something I tried so hard on everyday but would not get called on. He would even call on people 5 times who have already received points and ignore others. A joke of a class.
Professor Clifford is really cool. But this class kind of sucks. There's homework every single day before class & it's to read the assigned chapters. You HAVE to read them otherwise you'll miss out on participation points & if you don't participate trust me you will not pass. So if you're lowkey & don't talk much take this with another teacher.
Cliffords class was great and he overall is a great teacher. His class is simple all you have too do is read the book & participate. I wish I took it more seriously & participated more, my grade wouldve been way better. Its honestly an easy A if you just do what he asks of you. Dont be like me & slack. I do suggest his class!
Prof. Clifford was by far the best online instructor I've ever had. He made learning about Art very interesting and related it to the life we live today. Take his class asap before it fills up! And even though you're taking the class because you HAVE to, take the time to enjoy it. I truly loved this class and loved having him as my Professor!
Prof. Clifford is such an amazing professor! Humanities can seem boring or uninteresting but this class taught me how look at art in a completely different way than before. Super clear grading criteria, and very helpful feedback, do all the work and try your best and you'll get an A. Take him before classes fill up!!!
Tim is the best in the business at what he does. He seems to always be in a great mood. Love him like a father.
Professor Tim was pretty cool. He would always remind you of what was expected. He was also very understanding if a students situation and made sure we were succeeding. He never judged and was just overall a Greta teacher . I would 100% recommend.
Clear grading criteria, lots of in class discussion, tests aren't easy or hard as long as you read you should be able to pass. 4 reflection papers, 4 tests, no textbook but 4 books that go along with each unit. Attendance is mandatory or else you don't receive points for that day; no attendance points but points for participating
4 books for the semester, everyday is student led discussion. 5Participation points everyday. Sometimes you are required to bring questions on the text for additional 5 points that day. Two reflection essays, mid and final, comparing the texts. 4 exams about 12 short answers each- one week prior to exam he posts 15 questions 12 of which are on test
Heavy reading course but it is very fun! participation is key to pass this class, you get 5 points daily for full participation (quoting text) or 3 if you just make a comment. Cultural project is not hard and will help you boost up your grade, 2 reflection essays with 4 test. He is a very inspirational prof and class was overall fun
Tim is the best professor I've had at COD. He's incredibly caring for his students and makes lectures fun and interesting, though they are discussion based. I would take him for any class again and respected him a lot as a professor. Doesn't choose favorites and treats everyone with respect and like adults.
Tim is the best! He's extremely intelligent and all of his lectures are interesting. It's a heavy reading course (4 books), and you get 5 participation points everyday, but the books you have to get are definitely worth reading! Overall, he's a great professor! You won't regret taking his class.
I feel like Prof Clifford's class would have been better in person, but please do not take it online like me. He expects a lot out of his students and I put in A LOT of time/effort into the assignments. I found him very opinionated and a tough grader. We had 5 tests, 5 papers, and a whole bunch of flipgrid video discussion posts about the readings.
Professor Clifford is an amazing Professor. His class is discussion based which actually helps a lot with understanding the material youre learning. The discussions are based on readings you do throughout the semester. He takes humanities to a whole new level and truly gets everyone to connect to what hes teaching. I would 100% take him again.
I enjoyed the semester with Tim. He had us participate in class lectures in order to earn points, which makes them way more interesting. Another great thing is that Tim is very friendly and gives positive praise when he grades assignments. For his future students, I hope you enjoy having him as a professor as much as me!
Prof. Clifford is great, taking his online course was easy and he was super helpful. I'm not an arts major so this class confused me a little, but Prof. Clifford was extremely helpful when I had any questions. Highly recommend taking him! The assignments were fun as well! (The best place to find the book is on Ebay).
Professor Clifford does a great job balancing out the workload and allowing you to work at your own pace. As long as you get a 70% on the unit exam(retake ok), he will round it up to 100% and then you must work on the following assignments if you want to achieve a higher grade. Grading is very reasonable and he is pretty quick to respond to emails.
During the COVID-19 pandemic Professor Clifford was not willing to help me with my essays or any assignments. He even told me drop out from class super rude and the issue is if you take him online he will make you submit every assignment with is 5 assignments exam, mindemister, prezi, essay. he expects you to complete these assignments in 3 weeks.
Very good professor. This class has a lot of readings and 5 essays; one for each unit. The essays are 1000 words and have clear grading criteria making them pretty easy. Some readings are complicated tough. Gave really good feedback and made me feel like he knew me and cared about my grade even though it was an online class. Good prof and class.
I'm currently taking the 8-week class and it's a lot. We have an essay, a Prezi, a Notes Map, and an Exam for Each unit. There are 5 units and they're spaced out either 1 a week or 1 every 2 weeks. His grading is also not great. Either a 0, for not turning in, 50 if turned in and not met expectations, and 100 if met. The 12-week class would be fine
If I am being honest if I could give this class 0 stars I would. This class could have been enjoyable but, professor Clifford gives out 2 months worth of homework and expects it to be done in 3 weeks. He is also a harsh grader, the past few assignments I have done I only got 5/10, which is a slap in the face. I would NEVER recommend his class.
I took professor Clifford's 16 week online net based course. There was a total of 5 units that all contained the same criteria- a mapping outline, a video reflection essay, an artwork Prezi, and an exam at the end of the unit. All super straight forward, and as long as you pace yourself and read the chapters you will do more than fine.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU ARE SHY OR HAVE SOCIAL ANXIETY!! talking is mandatory so if you dont talk, you get no points. beware.
Absolutely amazing professor if you're an active class participant. If not, don't take this course as you will fail the participation grades. There is a lot of homework but you're given up to a month to do the units and the assignments are all easy. I had an absolute blast in his class and learned a whole lot more than I thought I would.
I didn't enjoy this class. A lot of pressure to complete tests/quizzes, your grade goes down if you miss just 1 class. If you hate to verbally participate this class is not for you. You have to talk every class if you want an A. If you want to take humanities I suggest you pick a different professor.
Class is easy
makes you feel comfortable in the class but participation is mandatory to get an A
Great professor, the work was clear and very manageable. He was a very nice person that gave good feedback and responds in a timely matter. I would totally take his class again.
This is a 100 level course and there is more work per week than my other THREE 200 level courses COMBINED. Not easy either, pretty indepth work.
This was the easiest online class ever!! He laid everything out in his 8 week course and it was so easy to understand. Theres still a good amount of work to do in his class, however he lays it out so well that you can plan accordingly.
Online class + 8 week course was created and ran very smoothly. There is a lot of reading and work to do, but the unit tests are made up of the module quizzes, and those answers come directly from the readings. Each unit (about 2 weeks) has 9 module quizzes, 1 discussion board, 1 mini essay, and one exam. A lot of work but very straightforward.
Space your schedule to make sure you have time for the assigned readings, and annotate what you read. Other than that, there are a lot of essays. No complaints, interesting topics.
If you are taking this class for a credit just do it online. Professor Clifford is well-organized with his material and passionate about it too. He is a fair to harsh grader but offers extra credit at the end of the semester. However, this course is very dreadful, and the three-point attendance was not it.
Class is a breeze, the professor is kind and engaging never had any problems or issues and you can tell he enjoys teaching humanities courses :) Just lots of small quizzes and a short essay every other week.
If you put the work in, this class is amazing. So much that I wish I had taken the longer version instead of the 5 week Summer version. Professor Clifford is amazing, professional, gives good feedback, and is there when you reach out. I would highly recommend!
Professor Clifford's HUMNT1101 class was manageable and engaging. Participation is key, but the assignments are straightforward. unstuck study proved to be a helpful study tool alongside the free textbook. Overall, an enjoyable class with reasonable grading.
The grade consists of weekly quizzes (5 questions), participation, reflections, and 20 points of extra credit. There are no tests, so your effort outside of class is crucial. Reading is required for each meeting, with firm deadlines. Despite procrastinating, I did more reading here than in English class and still earned a high A.
Took his Humanities the Arts class. His class is pretty easy. There are 4 books, weekly quiz and reflection on the chapters assigned (both online) each week. He does go 5 min past the end of almost every class
Professor Clifford was my favorite professor this semester! He's so funny and was honestly a breath of fresh air. You only have to do weekly quizzes and reflections that are 100 words each question, super easy. He's super knowledgeable about everything he teaches Highly highly recommend taking him.
I would recommend taking this professor's classes to any online students. I felt most of the work and deadlines were manageable, and the teacher provided the right feedback for me to succeed. I also enjoyed the material included in the class and found the teacher to be very likeable!
Took this class online. This professor is a tough grader and isnt too reasonable. You don't get any online feedback after taking the quizzes/Hw. Pretty heavy work load. If you're looking for a easy class with a chill professor, he is not the one.
I would not take him again. Over 20 assignments a week and although they are easy its just way too much specially when taking multiple courses at once.
I took the 5 week online course. Because it is only 5 weeks there is a lot of work to do, but I expected that. He's a picky grader and looks for specific things, however those things are listed in the instructions. Feedback: Scores for quizzes and written comments for the essays and videos. The course was easy to navigate.
Worst experience ever. I do not recommend this professor. He is unreasonably strict. You can't see what you did wrong on the tests. He gave us 30+ assignments for a week. He literally takes off 100 of points for one small mistake. No matter how hard you try , he will find something wrong on your assignments. Definitely not recommend his class.
This guy sucks do not take him. He is a very tough grader and make you read damn near a whole book every week. He makes you do like 30 assignments a week and if its late you might as well kiss that grade good bye.
This professor is a terrible grader and a wont let you turn in late work. If you miss your assignment by a minute he still doesnt care. He also make you do like 100 assignments a week and grades like if he gives you an "A" he will get fired. Terrible professor, do not take him.
He is a terrible professor, do not take him. He will give like a hundred assignments a week and will grade them like he will get sinned if he gives you full credit. If you turn something in late just forget about getting credit for it. He doesn't give clear feedback and expects to write like shakespeare. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!
He's really invested in his work, super smart and good at describing confusing topics, but I'm not interested in his means of participation points and class engagement. Also, if you forget to complete a quiz within the first TWO days its assigned, you can't make it up, and each one is worth a large portion of your grade.
Do yourself a favor and just don't take this professor. DONT be fooled by the good ratings. VERY TOUGH GRADER! A lot of essays for no reason and will grade you based on how he feels, and will question you a lot and is very passive in his feedback. I'm glad I dropped it and found a way better prof for this class. There are better out there!
