I liked Eddy. He was a cool guy who was pretty funny, too. All of the people in my class who got bad grades always said 'why do i even bother coming to class?' but they were on their laptops the whole time. All you have to do is listen to him and do some reading and you'll be fine! But if you can't handle that, you shouldn't take the class.

Everyone who is complaining about his lectures not matching the texbook is ridiculous. Why would you want to listen to someone lecture you on something you just read? I would only take him again if I had to. He is incredibly boring and lecture heavy but you can tell hes passionate abt evolutionary psychology. Pretty much the entire grade is 3 tests that ARE 100% OPEN RESPONSE. Basically you dont HAVE to show up because he doesn't take attendance but you might miss out on videos he plays that will be an essay Q

His class wastes a lot of time studying and reading outside of class. You don't really know what to study so you basically have to know everything. Theres only three exams and from taking them I have noticed they are things he brings up in lecture so its best to show up to class.

Professor Eddy seems very passionate about the subject, but does nothing to relate the readings to his lectures. It feels like you're taking 2 different classes and we barely talk about actual psychology. He also started using OpenMind which honestly doesn't fit into the course in my opinion. Lectures the whole class. I wouldn't recommend him.

Dr. Eddy is someone that I would never take again nor would I recommend him. He only grades you on three exams you take throughout the semester, when you are taking the exams he is never available and only answers you at around 1 - 3 pm if the class is at 8 am. If you have any disabilities he is terrible at accommodation him. Avoid his class.

Dr. Eddy was an okay professor. He lectures the ENTIRE class and only grades you based on 3 test grades. If you do the reading and pay attention in class, you will pass but otherwise you may have trouble. I would recommend him only if you enjoy lectures.

I thoroughly disliked this class, and got my worst grade in it ever. His lectures went on and on, put on Ted talks that had no relation to the weeks topic. And the worst part was the tests that were long and multiple choice, I argue its harder than open response. Dont take him for your mental health.

He bases your grades only on the FOUR tests you take throughout the class. His lectures are three hours long and he doesn't give you breaks even thought it states in the syllabus that he will. Asked if I could do any assignments for extra credit towards my grade and was told that I just need to study harder. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS

Overall, I thought he was a nice teacher and answered any questions you had. Sometimes he goes off about a topic that feels not needed. The class is him just telling you information, with an occasional exercise (is not graded). Make sure you take notes on the textbook as most of the test info is from it. His grades are also three tests.

for the PSY 101 class I took with him it was sort of like a conversational lecture most of the time. He has in class assignments which are graded based on completion. I wouldn't say he's a bad professor he can just get off task so I def recommend reading the book unless some questions on the exam won't make sense just by lecture only

Perfectly nice guy, but his teaching lacks. Lectured for hours just for the reading to not at all connect to what he's saying. He grades entirely on quizzes and in class assignments, and if you miss any there is no makeup, so you are screwed. Had to put together a study group because of how bad it was.

The exams are heavily based on the readings that are never discussed during lecture, despite multiple chapters being assigned to read before the lectures. There are also in-class exercise that you cannot make up if you miss class. However, there are extra credit options. He also doesn't utilize Canvas whatsoever and all exams are taken on paper.

Great class for people who want to learn, if you want to get by doing the minimum take somebody else. You are graded pretty much only on 3, 50 question multiple choice exams. Only homework is reading the chapters to prepare for the exams. You pay attention, you will be fine. Learned a lot from this class.

No homework was given, only tests. I am very bad on tests, I am surprised I passed it in 2022. He did get too defensive of sex being REQUIRED like food, shelter, water etc. Said if you aren't sexual, something is wrong with you. That made me truly hate the class and his 'teaching' if it isn't his opinion(i hope it isn't his opinion)

I don't really understand the hate he gets on here he's not that bad. The textbook he uses is free, however he doesn't cover all of it in class so it will be up to you to read it on your own because all the material will be on the tests. Sometimes if he asks a question and you get it wrong he can be condescending tho

Professor Eddy's lectures can be lengthy, but engaging with the textbook and using study tools like Unstuckstudy help reinforce the material. Grading is exam-heavy, so staying on top of the readings is key to doing well.

I really didn't like how the class was formatted (we had three exams and that was basically your grade so you couldn't afford to do bad on any of them) that being said, he had some really good, interesting, and informational lectures. I also recommend going to his office hours because he is more than willing to help you and is very good to talk to
