Ancient World History volume 1. He was difficult, a little strict, but really knows his subject very well. Interested me in the MidEast.

I think Doctor Furnish is a little picky, but overall a helpful, interesting, and straightforward.

Dr. Furnish is extremly intelligent and also motivates students to do their best. He is always available during his office hours and is willing to meet anytime the student needs further assistance. Georgia Perimeter College is very lucky to employee.

He gives you the two possible essay questions for the midterm in advance - those that don't prepare for the TWO questions are just morons. People who can chew gum and walk at the same time can prepare for two questions.

How can you say the quizzes are hard in his class. Map quizzes on the 3 Oceans & 7 Continents if you don't know these how are you in college! He is absolutely brilliant and challenges his students to dive deep beyond the surface of consciousness. IDIOTS

Back in school after 22yrs, this class was not as hard as some students are saying. Just be persistent, go to class, and take good notes. Dr Furnish is a great prof, funny, makes the subject very interesting. So JUST GROW UP!

Dr. Furnish is a very smart man. His class is very straight forward, he explains assingments well, but his notes can be difficult to follow when studying. He skips aroung when teaching, but if you come to class everyday its not that bad.

Dr. Furnish is a fantastic teacher! He encourages his students to learn and think. If you are lazy don't take his class. He is a top notch instructor and one of GPC's best. You can learn a lot from him, he is well educated and a pleasure to learn from. He knows his stuff and cares about his students

Very good teacher. He knows his stuff. Even though he likes to get off topic sometimes it makes the class more intresting. Just don't sleep in his class. Go to class pay attention, take notes, and you will pass. If you need help just ask, he is very accomadating.

Dr Furnish is the best! He knows what he's talking about, enjoys it and teaches it well. If you ever need help, just ask. He will ALWAYS do his best to help any student in need. Very accomodating, very funny and genuine about wanting to help his students progress. DEFINATELY RECOMMENDED!!!! :)

He's not the worst teacher ever, but he has a couple of faults. first, he's obsessed with religion, ot the exclusion of all other aspects of history. secondly, he wastes an enormous amoun of class time talking about the simpsons, local restaurants, the Pope, heck, ANYTHING but history. he's an easy A, but you wont learn much.

what is the deal with the students giving him a bad name, He is one the of the most knowledgeable, engaging, and enlightening teachers I have had in college. He just doesnt tolerate tardiness or excuses, If you show up for class and do assignments on time you'll have no problem. If your a lazy retard, then you will most likely fail.

Dr. Furnish is awesome. He is the best professor I've had in almost 4 years of college. Even now at the 4 year university I haven't found anyone even remotely close to being as great at Furnish. I learned so much from him and was able to have fun in class as well. He is so intelligent and made classtime fun.

Awesome Professor. Never felt like he was teaching to a book or a test. His knowledge of History and in particular Islam made for a very timely and up to date lesson plan. Friendly and funny...Simpson trivia is unmatched!

You definety work in this class... it is not a easy one. but he makes it interesting and you learn a lot if you listen. His classes are not mandatory BUT not going will mess with you in the end. He is all and all a funny good teacher

If you are open minded enough, and willing to do the work, this is an interesting and worthwhile class. However if you are someone who can't take a joke and loves to whine don't bother.

Dr. Furnish is very knowledgeable and certainly packs in as much as possible in the class. Lots of info, fast pace. Fair grading, just don't think you're going to skate through this class! Not for the mentally slow!!

He's a total cutie pie. This is class is really, really hard though. The tests don't really cover any historical information, just common knowledge and an essay. He's opinionated, and a bit of a hard-ass but I love him and think he's hilarious. He knows a lot and is always willing to impart knowledge.

First of all this class id difficult. But then again, I learned a lot and really enjoyed each class. By the way the reason Furnish jumps from 500 AD to 300BC is becasue in HISTORY what has happened in the past greatly affects the future, so the kid who was ragging on Furnish is out of place. Dr. Furnish is wonderful! I took his history 1111 course online and I learned so much! He is very generous with the amount of time he gives you to take a test, usually 3-4 days and tells you up front what he expects of you in the syllabus. As long as you follow all of the directions for the essays you will make a good grade!

The main thing Dr, YES DR, Furnish wants you do to is FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. As long as you do that, you will do OK. IN emals he does not come across well so if you have probems with his, call him on the phone. It made a world of difference for me. I got a B but it was A LOT of work and very stressful. I learned a lot but wouldnt take him again.

Dr (Don't forget the Dr. or he WILL correct you) Furnish is very knowledgable but, comes across as mean, belittles people and does not really care about his students. It seems that he is miserable when in the classroom because his students are not as smart as he is and can be condescending.

Dr. Furnish is definitely a misunderstood teacher. He appears to be very passionate about History and his class reflects this. I took his online class and it was very reasonable. The tests appear to be difficult, but if you follow his suggestions and directions precisely, you'll do very well in his class.

One of my favorite teachers of the term. Honestly he is highly intelligent and definitely know what he is talking about. He like to present his own personal view and a student should not be offended because this is college. He will not offer help but if you ask for it you will definitely receive it. My favorite teacher! He is extremely knowledgable with the subject matter. At times he can be condescending and impatient, but if you respect him and do the work without complaining you won't have a problem. His papers are very hard and a lot of research to write, but you learn an incredible about writing them. I recommend him, definitely!
