Homework was optional and only for our benefit. Final grade consisted of four tests and extra credit. Took this expecting an easy A, but I barely ended up a B (he curves at end of sem.) Tests weren't awful but you will need to study a lot. You'll need the book, atleast I did. Rent it off amazon- WAY cheaper. Not very organized but he's a cool prof.
He makes class enjoyable for everyone. I ended up being really interested in the subject. But he does expect you to know a lot come test time and does not curve. Took this expecting an easy A but made a B with effort.
Really funny professor. He wants the students to learn the material and will give extra credit to do, but the exams are difficult. You think they will be easy but they have odd questions you won't expect with lots of true false and fill in the blank.
Funny professor who is always in a positive mood and cares a lot about helping his students learn the material. However, there are only 4 tests that make up your grade but he does offer extra credit. Tests aren't the easiest but you can definitely make A's on them if you study well. He makes the material interesting and homework is not required.
Dr. Logan cares so much about the subject material and his students. His lecture material is pretty boring but he does his best to make it as interesting as he can. He has so much experience in the field that you can tell he knows what he is talking about. The tests are easy but only if you study all of the material. Go to class and take notes!
- 3 exams + final (non-cumulative), homework is optional but highly recommend - Exams are full of trick questions that are supposedly common sense but always stump about half the class - Offers some extra credit assignments during class--definitely worth going, he explains things super well - Super likable guy, tells fun stories, willing to help
Definitely recommend this class for non-majors. Attendance isn't mandatory but i would recommend you go. Taking the lab at the same time definitely helps to understand his core class better, take together. He is super friendly, & provides a review. Most important-- READ THE BOOK, DO THE HOMEWORK, Its not that bad. I would certainly take this again
Material can be difficult but if you read and go to review lectures before exams, you can make an A.
Pay some sort of attention in class, do the homework, do the extra credit, and study the night before and you are darn near ensured an A in this class. I didn't take a single note all semester, aced all the exams. He tells you literally exactly what is on them. Attendance is not mandatory, but would recommend it.
I only attended class the day before tests for the reviews and did fine. He's very passionate about the subject but understands it's just an entry level course. The tests aren't very difficult and he offers extra credit for every test.
He is the nicest man ever, he makes class fun and it makes it easier to learn. He knows you probably aren't an ATMO major and doesn't try to make it to difficult for you. The class consists of 4 tests and they are all easy if you study a little. Also offers extra credit for every test. Does test reviews the class before.
Very likable guy. Material was fairly easy to understand and pay attention to (this is coming from someone who took an 8AM Tuesdays and Thursdays) Professor Logan makes his lectures very personable and easy to understand as long as you pay attention and do the homework assigned to you in class. Go to review lectures and an A is easy to get.
Dr Logan is the best choice for this class. He offers extra credit on every test, and the test review is exactly like the test. If you make flashcards based on the review you will have no problem making a high A. Go to class the day before the test as there is a very helpful review. The lectures can get very dry at times. he loves what he does!
Just show up to class for the review before tests, skim the optional homework and you should be able to easily make an A in the class. He does not take attendance and homework is optional. Theres also chances for extra credit.
Dr. Logan is really passionate about his work, but he's really boring. He has optional homework for the textbook, so you don't really use it and there's a PDF online for book. He's a huge stickler for coming to his office hours, which makes communicating with him really hard. The tests are very lecture based and he has a review sheet for them.
The class (ATMO 201) is super easy. I rarely went to class, but when I did, it was enjoyable. Dr. Logan loves what he does and he makes class interesting. He's a great guy - would definitely recommend.
Professor Logan is really great. He made me consider switching my major to ATMO because I loved the topic and the things we were taught by him. He has a very goofy personality that is also apparent in questions on tests which can be confusing, but, overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this class and this professor.
This class was interesting for me to say the least. I wanted to q-drop it because I messed up the second test and barely made a C, considered there are only 4 tests for your whole grade they can be high-pressure. I ended up keeping my cool and finishing with an A. Just follow the review sheet and look at examples from the book. Cool prof. overall
Dr. Logan makes ATMO enjoyable. He is clearly very interested in his work and helping his students get a basic understanding of the field. He jokes around and is typically in a good mood. He has 'trick questions' on his exams but he warns you ahead of time to pay careful attention to certain topics. His review is very similar to the test.
Professor Logan was great. His class is interesting and fairly easy. Optional homework but it is for your own good if you do it, because it can help when studying for exams. His tests are pretty straightforward, and he goes over a review the class before the test. He also offers plenty of extra credit opportunities for the exams.
Professor Logan's class is one of the easiest at A&M and he has some of the easiest tests as well. Attendance is not mandatory but will for sure help you. Show up, do the optional homework, and you will get an easy A.
This class was an easy B, but you have to put in the work for and A. Tests are very tricky, but overall not too difficult as long as you study the PowerPoints and/or read the chapters of the book. Lectures are not mandatory, but I would recommend going because he'll occasionally give hints about what will be on the exam and what to focus on.
This is honestly an easy class. You do have to study but if you do you are fine for an A. Logan is kind of rude in office hours, but in general he is nice in class. I would take this class again.
LOGAN IS THE BEST! You'll need to go and pay attention in class to make sure you understand the material, but it isn't hard when you've got a cool prof. He cares so much about students and the course itself. He is a very smart guy but can still bring it down to a level of understanding. The tests are not hard at all if you pay attention. Gonna miss
Took this class for an easy A and was disappointed. Tests were hard and lectures could not keep my attention. I guess if you have an interest in this stuff you might do better, but I could never get higher than a high C on his exams. Not lenient with grades at all either. I took it for a science credit, there are easier science classes out there
Do not take this class if you have no interest in weather. It is very difficult to pay attention and do well if you have no interest in the subject.
I absolutely LOVED Dr. Logan! I am an ATMO major, so after taking this class I definitely knew that I was in the right place. He is very passionate about what he does, and that showed! I had him for an 8 AM, but I was able to follow along b/c of his interesting lectures. Offers extra credit, and common sense will help you. Non-cumulative final.
Dr. Logan's lectures are boring not going to lie there, but he hands out free extra credit in class. The class isnt the most interesting but he makes funny comments and tells you about his storm chasing adventures. Test aren't too bad just read and truly undertsnad the lecture, but it isnt bad.
Most of the lecture he would just say random things that weren't super relevant to atmosphere, and when he did talk about atmo it wasn't super helpful. Most of the info you need is on the slides & in the textbook. Exams weren't very hard, but doing the review he posts definitely helps. Not a hard class, but for sure not an enjoyable one.
Professor Logan really cares about his students. He encourages participation, but doesn't mind if you sleep through each class. The tests are extremely easy if you show up to the review he holds during class. He doesn't care about absences and loves what he does. Take this class.
Boring Lectures, Logan lecture style is very technical and dry. For every minute he spends putting it in layman's terms, hes probably spending 4 minutes giving the dry lecture talk. Review are helpful but test can still be tricky. Pay attention to the reviews for test.
Really nice guy, easy class. Got an A with minimal/moderate effort. Would skip often (never takes attendance), didn't pay attention when I attended. Only graded material are the tests; many test questions come from suggested homework + he gives reviews to look over before. Ask him questions during the tests, super helpful. Very doable class.
Dr. Logan is a great prof & makes learning about the weather more fun than you would expect. He showed us videos of his storm chasing adventures and was very funny. His tests can be kinda tricky but overall if you go to class, do his reviews and the homework problems (it's not a lot) you'll be fine. He also gives out extra credit sometimes.
Professor Logan was a good professor, his tests can be tricky but he reviews before each test so you know what you are going into. Make sure to do the suggested homework because they are most likely the test questions.
Logan is very enthusiastic about this class. His tests are basically from the lecture, and he tells you what to study. Gives study guide for every test- 4 total including the final. Some extra credit questions on the test. I took as a life and physical science credit and was in the non-major class without a lab.
Logan is such a great professor. It's a non-major course so you don't have to be a GENIUS in earth science to understand the material well. He gives reviews and tells you exactly what's going to be on the exam. There are a few extra credit opportunities and gives good feedback. Homework isn't required but the same questions show up on the exams!
Logan is a solid choice for a prof. I made a B, although it isnt the easiest science credit out there, a B is almost guaranteed if you do his test reviews. His lectures seem like they go on forever but there is no homework or quizzes, just 3 tests and a final.
Logan is an awesome professor and he's very passionate about what he teaches. It's an easy class but you actually have to pay attention to get an A. If you read the textbook and do the homework he assigns, you'll make an easy A. There's 4 exams and those will be the only grades for the class.
This class was kind of boring, but Dr. Logan is a pretty entertaining lecturer that made the class more bearable. The tests are pretty easy as long as you attend lecture and study his test reviews. There's optional textbook homework which wasn't all that helpful, though questions from homework can be on the tests.
Logan truly cares about the material he teaches. However, if youre a non-major who wants an easy A science credit, I wouldnt recommend this class. He goes very in-depth and covers a large amount of material for each test. Like I said, hes intelligent and obviously passionate, but even with serious effort I couldnt make an A.
Dr Logan is a great professor, he really enjoys atmosphere & he cares for students to learn more about it. His tests are not hard, his test reviews are very helpful for the tests and he also goes over what will be on the test during the class before the test. If you are looking for a science class, just because you have to take one, choose this one
Dr. Logan is a great guy, and his exams aren't too bad. You're only graded on 4 exams, each worth 25%. He tries to be tricky, but if you do the optional homework, the exams are really pretty easy.
Logan is great. I took this class bc I was told it was going to be the biggest blow-off class ever so I did not put in the work this class needed. Studying the day before the exam is NOT enough to get you an A in the class. An A is for sure easy to get IF you actually go to class, do the readings, and study ahead of time. NOT AS EASY AS PPL TELL U!
I took him for my science elective and it was really easy. He posts his powerpoints and they give most of info for the test. He makes his lectures interesting and give a lot of extra credit. I did not go to class besides the first month and just used the powerpoints to study. It is an easy A.
Swears his tests are tricky but that's only so you actually study. Understands the stress and want to do well so he gives lots of extra credit and doesn't overwhelm you with material. Good choice if you are trying to get your science credits out of the way. If your class is in the Richardson building bring a jacket!! Or blanket!! OR A PARKA!!!!
He posts all of his slides on his website. The tests are very similar to content on the slides and questions in the book. Spend a couple days preparing and you will do well on the tests.
This class is not an easy A but it isn't the hardest class I've ever taken either. You definitely have to put in effort to do well on the exams (exams are the only grades in this class) but if you give yourself time to study you'll do fine. Definitely study the study guides and go to the review sessions!
NOT an easy A! I took this class with the notion that it would be easy (because my friends said so). It was not. You have to study and I personally didn't understand his lecture style so a lot of it was self-taught. If you attend class, read the text, do the homework questions and extra credit, and study a few days before class, you can make an A.
Dr. Logan is a great professor! I really enjoyed his class because he tried to make learning atmospheric sciences enjoyable but it's really not. I didn't understand anything during lecture so a week before exams I would just study his study guides and somehow always passed. So attend class, do the optional homework, and study!!!!!
Dr. Logan is a baller, a real pro's pro, an overall king. His Upstate New York accent? Astounding. His sense of humor? Impeccable. His class is by no means an easy A, but it's still very doable. You're only graded on 4 tests, and they're not too difficult if you just study his reviews. Take him for ATMO 201 if you can.
Good class. Lectures were really interesting and the material was fun and applicable to the real world. Pretty easy A, as long as you study well. He's pretty funny also and enjoyable to listen to.
Awesome class! Dr. Logan is a great professor. He tries to make his lectures interesting and he's hilarious! Attendance is not mandatory although I recommend going. Your entire grade will be 4 exams so it is important to do well on them however if you go to class getting an A should be easy. Definitely take this class if you need a science credit!
Took this class as a science credit but it definitely wasn't an "easy A" (you need to study for sure). However, Logan is a hilarious prof who really loves his job. Class is graded from 4 exams, that's it. Attendance not mandatory, but he will make comments in class about test questions so GO! Optional homework is very similar to test content.
Very funny prof. Easy A if you know anything about weather. Posts lectures on ecampus. You don't have to show up to class but he sometimes gives extra credit. during lectures he also states exactly the questions on the test and tells you what specific information you need. The text book is only for non graded practice problems. Watch out for test 2
This class definitely is not an "Easy A" but If you show up to class and listen to the lectures/do the homework questions you should be fine. He is very specific on the exams and there is a lot of information to study from. There are 4 exams total including the final and those are the only grades you have, as well as 2 opportunities for EC.
Dr. Logan was a great professor, his lectures were interesting and he kept students engaged for the most part. There were four tests including the final that each count for 25% of your grade. Personally I did not study too intensively and still got an A in the class.
Your grade is the 4 exams nothing else. Study the material and you'll pass. Study the powerpoints. Optional homework on the textbook but is not required. I never used the textbook.
He's really passionate and super willing to help you. If you go to class and make some flashcards or find a quizlet you'll do fine. Sometimes he'll give random extra credit in class on days a lot of ppl skip. Homework is optional but helpful (I only did it a few times). Look at the hints he gives on tests. He normally gives you a few answers there.
if you have a huge interest in weather, take this class, and more importantly take Dr. Logan. He's the absolute best & funniest dude ever. He made me wish I would've chosen meteorology as a major.
Definitely one of the best profs I've ever had. He's funny, tries to integrate pop culture references, and really cares about his craft. His tests are easy and even a little funny if you've paid attention in class. He also shows applicable videos often during lectures. Highly recommend for a science credit
Logan knows his stuff, but he just wants you to gain some useful knowledge, which makes it easy for non-majors. Excellent lecturer; entertaining and engaging, but doesn't waste a minute of class. Textbook is not mandatory, but I found it a helpful supplement. Only graded by 4 exams, which are easy if you understand the review and class slides.
Dr. Logan is pretty awesome but I just didn't understand this class material at all for some reason. Not because he can't teach because my brain couldn't comprehend it. Overall, he's very cool and does care for his students.
After entering school as an Engineering major and taking this class, Professor Logan caused me to rethink my entire degree plan and change to a meteorology major. His lectures are engaging and funny, and he uses a lot of real world examples to help you apply the topics that he's talking about.
This was a very effortless class. A group project and 4 tests. Tests arent the easiest but arent too hard either.
This class was definitely harder than I anticipated. The second test really hurt. But, with some studying and attending lecture, you can get an A. Dr. Logan is awesome.
Prof Logan is a good guy and a good professor. You show up to class for lectures, and the test is directly over the lecture. Optional homework; I never did it and I'm doing fine. Two attempts on tests.
The content was difficult for me to understand but the class overall required very minimal effort, hes very lenient on tests and he seems to really care about his students. Hes very patient and funny, as long as you attend lectures and actually try on the tests you will be fine.
He's a cool guy. He doesn't do anything that's overly complicated in his lectures. Having weather knowledge going into the class helps, especially for his second exam. Don't expect to be able to coast through each exam without studying but if you do you will get an A. Don't email him about your grade though.
Dr. Logan is a stand up guy. He is one of the only professor's lectures I can actually sit through and pay attention. He is understanding this is a non-majors class. Tests are tricky but you can definitely get an A if you attend lectures and study for the exams. Exams 90% and one group project 10% which is basically a free 100 and takes 10 minutes.
NOT AN EASY A!! I took this class as an easy science class, but because of the weight of exams (90%) I ended up with a B. Besides that, Dr, Logan is a great prof and the class doesnt require much work. If you want an A, be willing to study hard or take a different class (theres easier ones out there).
Not a tough grader & seems to be very interested in what he is teaching. Not required to read- helpful, attendancy not mandatory- helpful, no ec or gp, no homework but does help as a review. This exam is only based on tests, meaning only the 4 exams will be what gives you the grade in this class. Must. know basic level of PHYSICS!
Dr. Logan is a very kind and passionate professor. He's extremely knowledgeable about the material, but I personally had a tough time getting to his level. Only grades are 4 exams, extremely detail oriented. If you know your stuff (a lot of stuff) on atmospheric sciences, you may be fine. I should've read the textbook on my own time more.
Prof Logan is very passionate about what he teaches, he's extremely knowladgebale in his field. He only has 4 tests worth 90% of your grade, so if u fail good luck.... GO to lecture, engage and read the textbook if you have time. He's engaging and goofy but his test are pretty detailed.
Great professor. He is funny and passionate. The only reason I would not take again is since I am not a science major, I want to take an easy science credit. This is a hard science elective. You are graded by 4 tests and you get some grade curving but there are no easy points.
The exams were formatted really weirdly and made a big impact on your grade. The class material is not easy, so make sure you study and try not to skip class. EXAM 2 is the most difficult!!! your grade is based solely on exams so make sure you do well on those.
I love Logan! He is hilarious and so passionate about what he teaches. Make sure that you go to class, take good notes, and I would recommend doing the practice questions he gives you (although they're not required!) He pretty much only grades exams, and he doesn't assign actual homework.
Doctor Logan is very funny and you can tell he cares a lot about the subject he teaches and his students. I personally loved him. I would take again.
Dr. Logan is a kind and caring professor. You can tell that he wants his students to be successful. However, his class isn't something you can find online or skip class and be successful. His tests aren't easy, you have to study for them for sure. If you ask him the right questions, he'll probably tell you most of what's going to be on the exam.
Dr. Logan is a great professor and a great guy in general. He post weekly homework questions and reviews for the test (all are optional). There is 4 exams, each exam counts as 25 percent of your grade. If you study for the exams they will be a breeze. It's easy to get a B and a challenge to get an A. On the final you get a full paper cheat sheet.
Don't have to go to lectures they are recorded. There is optional homework that will help you on the test. Your whole grade comes from ONLY 4 tests. He's not clear about how extra credit on test affects your grade, just know add those points to your test score. If you got an 86 on the test and 3, critical thinking points, your test score is an 89.
Professor Logan is a really cool professor. The class was lecture-heavy, and the only grades were the tests. As long as you pay attention and take notes on his lectures, you should do fine. He makes his lectures very interesting and records every one of them in case you miss class. Easier Life and Physical Science credit class.
Enjoyed the class. Lectures were very heavy but if you sit in and listen you'll be good. I worked very hard in his class and on exams. The exams were worth 90%. However, when I emailed to clarify my grade, he simply told me that I “didn't try hard enough and to try harder next time.” Not very professional. Anyway, his class was pretty okay overall.
This is definitely a test heavy class as there are 4 exams including the final and a group project that make up your enti
