If you ever need to take Intermediate Algebra, take Dr. Magnavita. Yes, he requries you to be in class at all times and he gives h.w. at every class meeting, but that's just part of the process. You won't regret it when you get that A for the semester.

first time i ever got a B in a math class and wasn't totly confused. helps you when you need it. He can seem a little rude. You will learn what you need to move on to the next course. Make sure you don't say SORRY! in his class.

Tim is a very good teacher, although he can seem to be a jerk at times. He makes you do problems that you do not understand in front of the entire class, but i got a 107.5 average in that class so i can't complain too much LOL

Gives you 2 reviews before each test and up to 4 reviews for the final. Been in his class twice for math 103 and 120. When you go to his office he answers all of the questions you might have and helps you understand the material that is confusing.

he can appear to be rude at times, but if you can get past his abrasive personality, you will get an A. and seriously, don't say "Sorry!"

In the first couple of meetings, he seemed very cold and unlikable, but over time that passes. As long as you keep up with what he is doing and do your h.w. ALL the time, you'll survive in his class and your grade will definitely show that.

Super funny teacher, knows exactly what is he doing, and hates when someone is catchin him on mistake... Very helpful and will solve the problem for you if u need to. Req to be in class all the time and checks for HW daily.

He was a awesome teacher. He does check homework every day from the previous night. He does 2 reviews for the test and you work through those reviews in groups. Excellent teacher!! Wish he taught Concepts 2.

Dr. Magnavita is the man! He is probably the best math teacher that I have ever had. I'm not good at Math and I got a A in his class. He is extremely helpful and sincere.

I liked to call him "Magneto". He was cool. If you hear anything bad, its wrong. He comes off scary but you warm up to him after a week. He is the most helpful guy on campus, not just for math but for life issues. He is a super hero.

i loved him so much during algebra i took him for stats as an elective. he is the absolute best. challenges the student but is right there to help and explain. if you have any questions, or do not understand, yell out. "I am lost". he will stop everything to make sure you get it. very available

He is AWESOME! Fun, helpful, nice... if you dont do well in this class it's because you're NOT trying. I stink @ math & did great b/c he helps you & clarifies EVERYTHING. Always gives you praise. I took him in the summer- 6 weeks. Fair exams & straight forward. He is the best prof @ BCCC I have had.

This guy is a math GOD! He treated me like an equal and i was just a punk kid. He tests are very easy and if you take him for a second time he treats you even better. VERY VERY helpful. always willing to make time to answer questions no matter how stupid they may be. His sense of humor is great!

at first he seems harsh but that definitely is not true. tests are easy because you get two days to review the material before each one. he is very helpful and funny.

He is a hard teacher but he is also very helpful. He notices who makes an effort and who just skates by. If you try hard but don't do very well he will help you bring your grade up. If you have trouble in his class he will listen and help you figure out how to improve.

He is the best Algebra teacher @ bucks. register 4 his class or regret l8er.

Great Professor!! He actually made you do all of your homework so that you could actually learn. He was quite a character as well. Awesome professor, as long as you don't mind doing a little work.

Magnavita is helpful and presents the material well. Answers all your questions IF you ask and doesn't hold your hand. Test reviews are key to an A if you do them and get your questions answered. This course is listed as a math class for liberal arts majors. While I got an A, this liberal arts major would have had an easier time with algebra.

Dr. Magnavita might seem a bit scary at first, but he really is a great teacher. He explains very well and he's also pretty funny.

When I heard Magnavita had super powers, I didnt belive it. but its true! One time I fell asleep in class and he used his power to make this metal chair hit me in the face. It broke 12 bones but i never slept in class again and ended up getting a B+! Thanks Magnavita, aka Magneto!

his teaching style is catchy and he is straight foward 99.9% of the time. he keeps the class moving instead of lingering on one thing to long. he is always open to questions and always offers people who are having trouble stick around for another class or see him during office hours.

just a straight forward guy, no ****ing, will help you if needed, a little fast but he will go over the work, keeps things moving, lots and lots of review before a test

This guy is a good solid teacher. He gives you a good amount of math homework like any good math teacher does and reviews it the next day. He also gives out study sheets before the tests. These study sheets are exactly like the tests. He does move pretty quickly so pay attetnion in class. Overall i reccomend this guy!

I LOVE THIS MAN!!! hes awsome. knows how to teach and knows how to relate to the students. I recommend this man give Dr Lee in the science department some skills on teaching. She needs it. But TAKE THIS HIM YOU WILL ACTUALLY LEARN WHILE HAVING FUN

Of course there is homework to do, what do you expect from school? Material is not easy but not impossible. If you do the test review and pay attention as he goes over it in class, you will get an A. The test review is a blueprint for the exam, if you can't pass you might rethink you academic career!!!

This guy is a good teacher. I dont know how you people can say his class is hard. He gives a study sheet, which has the same material as the test! For me anyway, he was easy. Explained things well, gave a good amount of homework, and reviewed it good. He is probably the best math teacher I have ever had.

Amazing Professor, he's great funnny, and keeps the class interesting. You really would have to try to fail his classes.

He was very intimidating in the beginning of the semester. Once you get to know him though, the class is actually quite humurous. He is very clear on the assignments, and he makes sure that you understand what is going on in the class. HIs tests are easy. He gives you review days before the test, showing exactly what will be on it.

Great guy, fun teacher, oh yeah and work on your impressions of him. He'll even enjoy them. Seriously though The guy was awesome. Take him if you get the chance, especially for the higher level math courses.

He gave a review before every class which was like the actual test. He was also very helpful if you didn't understand something. Daily assignments weren't graded but were crucial if you wanted to understand the material. He was a great teacher and especially for me since I am not a good math student, made sure you understood what you were doing.

This professor is a great teacher.Gives reviews before exams, which are in groups in class, and they mimic his exams. He encourages questions, has office hours, but gives homework to practice.Suggestion: Do homework, he will review in class. I am taking him for the next math I need.

Mr. Magnavita was a little intimidating at first, but he is the most easy going down to earth teacher. He gives you the exact test questions on the test review with different numbers. He doesn't have a final. He tells funny stories, and has a contagious laugh. Do your homework and you are guaranteed atleast a B

Great teacher! He REALLY knows his stuff and can explain it so you'll understand. He has his own method of teaching, so don't sleep in class and expect to be able to do the homework. Pay attention, and take notes, you'll ace the tests.

He was very helpful as a teacher. If you didn't understand something he made sure you did by the end of class. But he gives long homework assignments, so not for lazy students.

I took this class with another teacher and I had to withdraw from the class by the second test. I took it again with mr Magnavita in the summer and I ended up getting an A. He is an awesome teacher. He explains everything clearly and his tests are the same as the pratice tests he gives you. He is always willing to help. I highly recomend this teach

He is a little quiet, but he leaves it up to you how well you are going to do in his classes. He will give you all the information you need to succeed, and will answer any questions you have, but you have to take the step of asking about what you need help with.

Dr Magnavita made the Intro to Stats course really easy.I'm terrible at all Math & I got an A.He goes over each exam the week before & is very, very fair.You have to study some but he's such a good teacher, it all makes sense.I totally recommend him for this course

He is a good guy and an alright math teacher. The class is easy four tests and he lets you use a calculator for everything. Look at your notes and you will be fine. He seems like he does not want to be teaching though, well at least in my summer course with him.

I thought I was done, but he helped me to see the light and also with the help of a wonderful tutor I succeeded. He really pushed me to do better than I could have done. Thanks!!

Magnavita is extremely helpful, makes things very easy to understand, and seems like he really wants you to pass. He is a great teacher. Slight problem is that he sometimes goes off on tangents completely unrelated to math. It gets a bit awkward. Hardly matters though. Take him.

Excellent teacher. Gives reviews that mirror tests. Always willing to help you until you understand. I took over the summer, let's you use calculator as well as shows you how to use it correctly. He does not tolerate people who use cell phones during class to text.

Great teacher, really know his stuff and is a pretty laid back guy. But as a warning he does seem really intimidating the first few classes, but after a while he lightens up and the class really isn't that bad.

He's tough but fair. He shows you how to use the calculator to perform the calcs instead of making you remember a ton of formulas which is VERY helpful. He will take the time to explain anything that is unclear. But do not come to class unprepared (i.e., no textbook, didn't do homework, etc.). He made this class a lot easier than I anticipated.

I hadn't taken a math course in a while so have been fearful of them. Magnavita couldn't have me me feel any more ridiculous for being fearful. His approach is practically fool-proof. He makes himself available, throughly explains everything and works at the class pace. I refuse to take any other professor for future math classes.

Normally I'm bad with math but I greatly enjoyed this class. He is very clear at explaining things and if you have a question he is glad to answer it. He comes off as intimidating at first but the class was actually rather funny most the time. As long as you put in effort and do the homework you will be fine. Just don't come to class unprepared.

he is a great teacher. honestly I wasn't the best at attendance but he made things so clear for me and he truly wants you to do well. he doesn't use the text other than for homework which is optional as extra credit which I loved! he makes it so easy for you i recommend him 100%.

The begining and the first test is the hardest...just pass the first test. yeah, hes hand outs before test are great! study them and youll be fine. likes to scare you but not a hard class at all. just seems hard at first...the guy is like a dry dezert but the class gets kinda fun. It was a summer class.

I hated math leading up to this class and was pretty positive it was going to kill my GPA. Magnavita made the lessons so clear and for the first time I was confident going into exams. Awesome guy, makes you want to go to class so you get a better understanding. Highly Recommended!

I did not regret taking his class. He is an awesome professor. I suck at math but felt complete confidence during testing. Yes he seems a bit grouchy at first, but he lightens up once you show him how much effort you are putting forth. He is willing to help if you ask for it. Always ask questions when needed! I gaurentee you will pass if you do hw.

His teaching methods are clear and concise. Doesn't really take an interest in his students but still a perfectly nice guy. Workload is normal and if you struggle he's definitely willing to try and help. I would definitely take him again.

This class is difficult online.i recommend taking it in class. He responded to emails quickly but does not post grades until you ask.

I would take him again! There were about 6 people in my class so all of us had to participate. In other words, you had to understand everything and if you didn't he would help you individually. Chill and understanding guy overall. Took the whole class out to an Asian restaurant last day of class! Who does that?! How awesome!

Dr. Magnavita was an excellent online teacher. When I was confused, he made time to explain everything I didn't get over the phone even when our schedules didn't coincide. His tests are very straightforward and reflect the review guides. If you show him you care and you take the time to do the work, you won't have a problem doing well.

A good professor! Makes math easy. Will even give you his phone number and help you out outside of class if needed. Test reviews were awesome, matched the test almost identical just different numbers. Some homework but not too excessive. Homework he checks for completeness on test days. Overall easy class
