Professor Martin is truly great. There are weekly journal article reviews which are really easy to do. There are also fun audio and video projects. He is a very lenient grader and is very understanding about deadlines. Truly wants to see every pass, all you have to do is show up and complete the work to the best of your ability and you will pass!

Every week you have at least one journal article review, sometimes two. Then here and there he will assign sports blogs, but you get to pick what sport and topics you want to use. He always gives good feedback. Always willing to answer questions. If you want to zoom meet with him he is more than willing to do so. Every class was a zoom meeting.

There are at least two assignments per week, but you get to choose what you want to write about within a larger sports topic. The class is focused around interesting/modern sports topics from the book. We consistently did one group activity per Zoom, and sometimes we present papers or other assignments. Mr. Martin is a cool dude. Straight up. The workload can be tedious since you know exactly what you're doing almost every week - a relatively easy chapter of questions on Pearson and a 500-word summary of a research article - but this is one of those classes that you'll do fine in as long as to stay on track with your assignments.

I thought he was a great professor. The work could be a little challenging at times, but it was worth it because the work was actually beneficial to our studies. There is a lot of reading and writing, but is communications is something you really love, then the work will be worth it. He gives great feedback and is not a tough grader.

This class might have some writing assignments but they aren't hard assignments. Just don't be lazy and this class will be good for you. If you're lazy then just don't take it but not being lazy will be worth the grade you get.

He's a great professor. I feel like I learned a lot in COMM203 and could not believe how I was able to adapt that in my personal life. This class is not too difficult, but it is important to complete the assignments and attend class. Professor Martin will adjust assignment deadlines and remove assignments when necessary.

Regardless of the clear deadlines that were given, even when we broke those deadlines, he was still generous enough to give partial credit, when really he doesn't have to give any points at all if it's late. Professor Martin was really a cool professor this semester. Even though the class was Asynschronous, it was still easy to do the work and he's really good at communicating with students. I'm not going to say Speech 101 was the easiest nor the hardest but it's very much managable for people. I'd definitely take this class over again.

Professor Martin's class is great for online students. It mostly goes at your own pace with weekly deadlines. The class eases you into developing your public speaking skills with some practice speeches. The textbook is straightforward. The templates for the speeches the professor provides are helpful. However, he is not great at replying to emails.

Professor Martin is an excellent teacher! He provides a great mix of listening, speaking, and practical learning activities and a safe, supportive learning environment. As a student, you feel pushed to learn and try out new competencies, feel safe and supported, and gain valuable feedback that helps you improve.

Professor Martin made taking a speech class fun! I really dreaded the fact of having to take this course, but he was very clear on what he expected from his students and even included visuals. This was an online course but I recommend him as a professor overall.

I believe he is very competent at this course, and also exudes a positive aura about the material. He will appreciate whatever topic you talk about as well, which made me enjoy my work more,

I would say that overall that I did not mind this class. It wasn't very hard and online. Instructions were clear. My only complaint which isn't the professors fault was because it was online I had a hard time finding people to come on zoom for my oral presentation.

I enjoyed that the first few speeches were just for practice and not in front of a formal audience, as I was dreading having to take speech because of the audience aspect. Although there isn't much interaction with the professor I had a great experience and I would recommend the class if you struggle with public speaking.

Professor was very easy to understand. instructions for each assignment were clear, he posted very helpful videos to support with technology issues. Assignments were relevant to the class.

It's a Straightforward Course, You get assigned chapters every week, you write a short speech and deliver it on a weekly basis, you have some large assignments, you get feedback, not much to complain about if you just do the work on time.

Professor Martin is easy to reach outside of school. He replies with very reasonable time. There is a lot of assignments but that is expected as it is a speech class. His feedback is good, and his grading is clear. He also provides very good resources to further help with assignments. Overall, he's a good Professor.

I took an online class and I was skeptical at first but it's easy to get the hang of it, you are given outlines to write your speeches, and are provided with examples. You can also set up zoom meetings or phone calls to ask questions if you have any and he is very helpful. You are also provided with a PDF of the textbook.

The professor was nice and very helpful compared to professors I've had in the past. The class itself was helpful and I feel prepared for future courses.

He doesn't give too much homework, and when he does it's hard to miss a deadline, he reminds us plenty and also gives us a week to do even the smallest things. Great at making a classroom feel comfortable with giving speeches. On the first day of class, everyone had to get up and give an introduction speech with about 10 minutes of preparation.

He is a super relaxed and laid back teacher as long as you listen to him and do your work, he will help you out as much as he can.

Professor Martin was excellent, he cared about Speeches, understood how hard it is so held space for us to practice and gain experience. A challenging thing was having to get an audience of 8 or more people for the formal speeches. It was tough getting enough people to participate. I would recommend his class. It was a challenge but not too bad!

This class was really helpful and I got a chance to learn about new things that I probably would not have learned about on my own. He's very organized as he has created his lessons into modules that have listed the textbook quizzes, outlines, or speeches along with their due dates. He creates a welcoming environment and takes pride in his work.

This may seem like a heavy workload, but it is possible to communicate your struggle with the professor to make it work. The difficulty part is a personal choice for me cuz I was bad with public speaking until the end of the course as well as having poor time management, if you dont have those issues this class is a breeze, just check in to watch the lectures and read the text book. Professor Martin's class was great! The set up provided enough time in between practice speeches, the 3 main speeches, chapter readings and quizzes. If you do the work and take the feedback provided into consideration, there is no reason you shouldn't pass this class. For reference, my midterm grade was a B and I am waiting on my final grade.
