Dr. Minger is a GREAT teacher, for something as hard as chemistry, I was so glad I had a teacher who could clearly teach the material so I could understand it!!! He's very patient and available for help when you need it. I wish he was teaching 151 too!!

Dr. Minger has to be one of the best teachers I have ever had, for any class. He is so clear and direct with what he expects that only a fool could fail his class, even organic. There are no pranks or tricks whatsoever. The guy is extremely organized and will bend over backward to help his students and offer his time. An amazing guy.

Dr. Minger is great! I had a strong dislike for Chemistry before this class but his way of teaching made it better. It's not an easy class but he is very organized and knows his material. If you have trouble with chemistry I would def recomend Dr. Minger! I got an A in his class and I never thought I could do that!

DR. Minger seems too intelligent to be teaching basic Chemistry. He's really nice, and witty and tries to make the class as painless as possible. But if your looking for an easy class, this is not it. Show up, listen, study hard and you will do fine.

Dr. Minger is a great Chm prof. He's smart and passionate about teaching and is very helpful if you ask. He doesn't asign homework, but you'll need to study on your time to pass a test. The tests are avg w/ other chem prof. He's a very fair guy, but you will need to study to pass those tests, which is pretty much the whole grade.

AWESOME teacher, I took 130 from him 3 years ago, he was the only reason I passed Chemistry (I had already taken it 2 times before), He's laid back and eager to help but he insures that you learn as well, don't expect that because he's fun that you'll skate by! Always available to help, and REALLY cares that you learn (if you care yourself).

Dr. Minger is quite possibly the best instructor I've ever had. He writes legible, complete sentences on the board supplemented by clear sketches, AND even allows you time to copy them. He communicates well via email & in person, and he is available for help during his office hours. But if you are looking for an easy A, this may not be your guy.

Dr. Minger is a great teacher! I took him first for 151 then for 152 and now I am taking him for 235. He is very clear in the material he doesn't try to confuse you. He gives a ton of practice problems on handouts and on his website which are very helpful! His tests are based on the text and practice problems and what he teaches during lectures.

I have taken Minger for a year of general chem and he has made the subject so entertaining and easy to understand. But only easy if you take his advice by doing as many problems as you can and studying his notes and homework problems. Website gives you everything you need to do amazing in chem. I took CHM 235, 235LL, 236, 235LL from Dr Minger. He is one the best teachers I have ever had. He is very approachable, engaging and has a sense of humor. He encourages students to read the material before each lecture, but really there is no need for the text. Some students find the text helpful but you only need to know the lecture material.

I almost don't even want to write this review, because I want Minger to be my well-kept secret, but I promised myself I would give him the credit he so much deserves. Dr. Minger is the best professor I have ever had, and I say that with authority since I've attended three colleges in my life. Not only did he make Ochem manageable, he made it fun!

Minger was by far the best teacher I've had at MCC!! I miss his teaching style so much now that I'm taking Ochem 2 over at ASU. You need to go to class to get all his notes, and his tests are very manageable. All I can say is TAKE MINGER YOU WON'T REGRET IT!! :)

Outstanding Professor! This was my favorite class - absolutely loved it. He almost made me want to change my major. Lab was the BEST!! He is a very understanding and patient person. Dr. Minger explains things very well. His notes are very thorough, logical, and clear to understand. He makes them available for the students online if you don't want to take notes during class. His tests are challenging, but also very straightforward. He does not give "trick" questions. I highly recommend taking Dr. Minger's classes.

Dr. Minger is very nice. He explains very clear. I took CHM151 and CHM152 with him and had a very good experience. Quizzes are easy but exams are a little bit hard. Final was hard but he might curve. So do well on your quizzes, and after final might not hurt your grade so much. Learn a lots from Dr. Minger.

I took him for 151 and 152 lecture. Chem is hard for me, but I pulled B's from both semesters. His teaching style is organized, clear, and the guy is super cool too. He drops your lowest quiz, tests are hard...but he must curve the final or take pity on us, because I was NOT expecting to get a B! Take him!

Ok, Dr. Minger is amazing. His lectures are super clear and easy to understand, his test study guides are perfect study tools, his wit can't be beat, he genuinely cares for his students, and he obviously knows the stuff he's teaching. Take his class!

Very knowledgeable with an entertaining dry wit. OChem is a difficult subject, but he provides many examples to learn from, including worksheets with keys and previous exams. We were allowed to use a previous edition of the textbook, which saved money and didn't hamper my learning.

Dr.Minger is a great teacher. He is informative, patient, and funny. I asked him how to best prepare for the exams. He told me the best chapters and notes to review. By doing so I never got less than a B on the quizzes and tests.

He has teaching down. This is not a simple lab but as long as you prepare before every class you will do well. Minger will tell you exactly what to study for each test/quiz and lecture on it. He will go over everything you need to do for an experiment right before hand so you aren't confused about what's going on. I highly recommend this professor

Dr. Minger absolutely the very best instructor to teach OCHM that can be found in all community colleges in AZ. I highly recommend record his lecture and listen to it at home while rewrite everything on lecture in a not book as he used smart board and save it in canvas for you. While lecture just pay attention do not write. it worked for me.

235 LAB. Dr. Minger was the BEST. For any class he teaches. Labs where ok. quizzes were little hard, which there is quiz almost for every new lab. PAY ATTINION TO NMR AND IR SPECTROSCOPY AS THEY WORTH A BIG PORTION ON THE FINAL EXAM. That what dropped my grade one letter grade. Also, read paddies the small lab book.

Minger is a great teacher for Ochem. Ochem is a hard subject, however, Minger makes it easier to understand. Go to his office hours, it is very important for Ochem class.

Dr. Minger was truly great. He provides thorough lectures with specifics (making sure you understand), but would explain any question until he made sure you understood it. His class wasn't super easy, but as long as you listened to the lectures, asked questions, and paid attention, you will get a good grade! He really knows how to teach!

Great professor. If you like consistency, organization, and access to lots of helpful documents online (old exams, lecture notes, practice problems, ect.) then this is your man. He will not waste any time during class so be ready to learn. He provides a list of optional questions from the book, if you master these the exams will look easy.

He is a great teacher but he is not really good at explaining. He asks a question, one of the students gives the right answer, he confirms it without explaining why that was the correct answer!!! And even if you ask for the reason he goes with a very short answer! All in all great person and good teacher! love you Dr. Minger! :)

This is the hardest class I've ever taken;I worked and studied extremely hard, but it was such a tough subject for me; I honestly would not have passed without Dr Minger's help. He is so caring and understanding and always makes himself available to the students. He was amazing in Lab! He's such a nerd!

I think that Dr. Minger is one of the best person and professor that I had in my life. I have taking hem for ocham 1 and 2, and he is truly 100% fair, helpful, and knowledgeable about the subject. I highly recommend to voice record his lecture and listen to it at home. Also, study a lot, do practice chm problem, and office hours if needed.

Dr. Minger is THAT good. I genuinely feel bad for students that don't get to learn from him. He has an ability to simplify some of the toughest concepts that you'll encounter in ochem. He is thorough, explains every detail IN DEPTH and loves to see every single student succeed. I promise this class is 100% worth it, and I bet you'll think so too!

Very good instructor. He really cares, but only if you show that you care. He will stay late after class to answer questions and always lets you know if there is a change to his office hours. Has a good sense of humor and will keep the class engaged. Will grade on a curve, but don't count on that since he doesn't tell you what the curve is.

Dr Minger is hands down the best professor! He is excellent in lecture, covering topics thoroughly. His lecture notes are well organized and saved digitally after each class. He is available for help if you ask and take class seriously. I LOVED his labs and aced them but had a harder time in lecture personally. Tests are hard. STUDYING IS A MUST!

If you want a professor that takes his sweet time explaining everything in very very thorough detail, Minger is your guy. If you know the first thing about Chemistry and get bored easily, you may want a professor that goes through things faster. His tests are very straightforward and he always has one or two extra credit problems.

Dr. Minger is one of the best professors I have known. His lectures were not only articulate but not a moment of time is wasted on anything unnecessary. Organic chemistry is regarded as a difficult course but Dr. Minger made both Organic Chemistry I and II very straight forward and easy to grasp. I cannot recommend him enough.

I am one of the few who actually likes OCHM, but most people don't. If you want a good professor and to understand the material take Minger. He is an excellent professor and helps you pass with the grade you want. You do have to study and work for it but he does not make it impossible. You won't be disappointed with this professor.

O Chem is hard and has a LOT of material, but Dr Minger wants everyone to succeed. His lectures break down everything as simply as possible & the tests are straightforward. He doesn't make it difficult for the sake of being difficult. He's very approachable in office hours and has a sense of humor. Just show some effort & he'll be happy to help!

Dr. Minger is an amazing chemistry professor. Organic Chemistry is one of those classes that everyone is terrified of taking, but he really breaks everything down and makes it simple to understand. Dr. Minger is a great teacher. I loved the fill in the blank notes for ochem it made it super easy to follow along. There's plenty of opportunity for practice before the exams including review sessions with practice exams. I was dreading ochem, but he made it painless. I'd 100% recommend, especially to transfer credit to university.

Tim Minger could teach this stuff to elementary schoolers. He is the most well-spoken and thorough lecturer I have ever had. You will have to study your butt off, as the midterm and final are the majority of your grade, but it is doable w/ enough work. He handled the online transition exceptionally well. Minger is the man. As a non-traditional student who has spent a LOT of time in college and graduate school, I would consider Dr. Minger to be the most even-handed and fair professor I have ever had. Do the readings, study like all hell, make flash cards, work your butt off, and you'll pass; anything better than a B means orgo "clicks" for you. It's not for everyone.

If you thought 235 was tough, 236 is waiting around the corner with a fresh beating for you. This was the most challenging course I have ever taken. Be prepared to learn an immense amount of reactions, mechanisms, and concepts. That being said, you won't find a better man to teach you than Dr. Minger. He made this class easier than it should have been especially considering everything that has happened this year. He responds to emails quickly, gives a lot of feedback on labs if you ask, has MANY review sessions, basically hands you an A as long as you keep up with reviewing and the videos. You will learn ochem and it will be pretty stress free

Ochem isn't an easy class, but with Dr. Minger it's more than doable. He gives all the time in the world to really master the material with a lot of reference sheets, practice sheets and practice sessions. The lecture times aren't mandatory and are are actually practice sessions u can attend. The lectures are prerecorded and easy to follow. Amazing

He really made Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 interesting to learn about. He made the concepts clear and easy to learn and he cared about his students' success.

I took his live-online lecture class, which is not mandatory, recorded videos are provided. But it is highly recommended that you attend it on time because you can ask questions and get his answers right away. His course material is very well organized. He makes the concepts clear and easy to learn and he cares about the success of his students.

If you have the opportunity to take CHM235 or 236 with Professor Minger you must! His course is extremely organized and you will know what to expect each week. He is very responsive via email and always willing to answer questions. He has plenty of office hours if you are struggling, 10/10 recommend. Just make sure to stay on top of the material!

I took him for both Ochems and he makes ochem super easy to understand. He has a lol of practice problems. his quizzes are super easy. And, he's a really good professor. Super organized. I took Professor Minger last semester for ochem 1. He is the best teacher I have ever had. It is a difficult class but he tries his best to make it easy for us to learn. Every day in Dr. Minger's class is a day of whimsical fun. He really hammers home the important Ochem topics. His lecture notes have the sustenance of an IKEA meatball, and his practice problems are super crisp. I cannot recommend this professor enough!
