Naylor is fairly easy, but just not very friendly. He has easy reading tests.(An A is easily made on them IF YOU READ THE STORY). When you are told to write an at home essay, you have a week or more to write it.(Rough Draft).Participate in class discussio

Naylor is cool, but he has been teaching a while. If you're an Honors Student you will definitely enjoy Naylor's class. He is himself a scholar, so he doesn't see things in mediocre terms. Take McKenna if you are challenged by the written word.
Very easy instructor.
WAS NOT HELPFUL IN THE BEGINNING BUT SOFENED WITH TIME
Comp 1 was really easy but 2 was more difficult. I enjoyed this teacher immensely. His passion about literature enhanced his lectures.
Well...hes very clear about what he wants, so hes a lil picky! Um i wouldnt recommend students to take his class during a summer or any other short semester. Its gets challenging. During a regular semester, hes fairly easy!

freakin AWESOME dude... knows what hes teaching. looks grumpy, but actually really nice. talks in monotone, which makes his lectures kinda boring, but really nice guy. tests are extreamly easy, if you read.
Easy teacher. If you read what he wants you'll do fine. But he can be VERY picky on essays.
Requires his own book and then tries to take it a part.
His class was so boring! i would recommend Lemaster or Williams before Naylor.
If you have a hard time in Eng then he's your teacher. As long as you go to class and put forth the effort you will pass! He just expects everyone to do the work or he will get upset. But he is very easy and VERY laid back and kinda boring. If you can take him!!!
Mr. Naylor is a very unhelpful teacher. He is sarcastic and doesn't listen to what you say. You must read ALL the material. He is very picky in the paper you write. He will take off points for everything.
GREAT TEACHER...DO WHAT HE SAYS AND YOU WILL MAKE A 100 ON EVEY TEST...LOOKS MEAN, VERY HELPFUL AND NICE..WILLING TO WORK WITH YOU.
He is a really great professor as long as you put forth an effort and complete all the assignments. I think he graded his essays reasonably and the tests were not too hard. He is a serious and strait forward teacher and tells you exactly what needs to be done.
Great teacher. He is a good teacher for any kind of student. People who like discussing literature will find him insightful and people who hate English will at least find the class tolerable. There's no reason why anyone should not pass this class!
Pay attention and do the work and put out a lot of effort to do your best and it will be an easy A.
He seems really exited about his job but I was not , I find myself lost most of the time in his class , When my classmates break it down to me I feel athough they should be the teacher
very easy, very helpful
he reminds me of the red eyes guy on commercials he talks really slow and he is soooo boring..BUT the class is extremely easy and so easy to pass with an A...i recommend him if you can stand being really bored
Easy class. Very interesting. Not difficult at all.
Pretty good teacher. He discusses literature in class, and misses much of the real intent of the author. People say he is easy, but don't slack off and not read the literature. If you read, take notes on the author's Biography, and write your paper in time, then you can get an A. This teacher is not out to fail you, just do the work = A.
he is kinda confusing when he gives his handouts and trys to explain them
This man is extremely confusing. He gives alot of homework at first but then slacks off to reading and writing. His syllabus in easy but don't let him try to explain anything to you or you end up more confused than what you started out. Easy A,though. He is boring. He reminds me of Grandpa Joe on Charlie &the Chocolate Factory in cowboy boots.
Okay, Guys. This man has a monotone voice and he does not explain things thoroughly. He does not tell you to bring your sj book for the written essay nor your notebook to write the essay, which would have been helpful! Just because he says that something is okay on your research paper before you turn it in, doesn't mean it is right.
Naylor is probably one of my favorite teachers as a background teacher. He tought me how to write a MLA format paper correctly, so now when other people's papers are formatted wrong, mine is always right!
Ok well...this class is really boring..you ahve 7 paper total..includeding 1 reaserch paper..I personally HATE english but I guess this class was ok
He is very nice if you give him a chance...he does not tolerate stupidity and I don't blame him. He is a very wonderful teacher and very understanding if you do your work you will pass.
The class was kind of boring, but it was easy and he was very clear with assignments. Not much in-class work, your grades consist of reading tests, essays and exams. An easy A or B if you do your work.
This is a true teacher. I had him for 3 semesters and grew to love his classes. Yes, there's a lot of dead air and the humor is all his own but he really cares about his students. He isn't going to baby anyone. If you need help you have to ask. Study EXACTLY what he gives you and you will make an A. Great teacher and man.
It's boring at first, but you'll get used to it. The professor is nice and he helps out a lot. Personally, I learned a lot in this class and it's easy. Take him, you won't regret it!
This professor is okay, but doesnt help you at all and if you ask him a question he looks at you like your dumb, i guess i got him at a bad time but he doesnt seem like a bad professor...
Slightly boring, but nice. He knows his stuff. He reviews for the test. I took him for the summer session for early british lit and we didn't really have that many assignments. There is a research paper but it isn't too awful.
Extremely boring. People actually walked out because the class will bore you to tears. I felt like jumping out of the window every day being in that class.
As long as you read the work, you will make an A. Not hard at all. Quizes are easy.
He is not helpful!Readingtest are easy if you read, there's ALOT to read,1 test per wk!He has FEW A papers, if you do get an A its a low 90. Im borderline on getting an A depending on the final ESSAY exam. There's no EASY COMP2 prof.So If you suck you'll struggle regardless who you take.Good luck with him or anybody else you take for COMP2!
he bores me to death and he is like obsessed with poetry and analyzing everything. Put a piece of plastic in front of him and he will tell you everything that cup is feeling or thinking. Its retarded. If you are liiking for an easy to medium level class, then dont even think about taking this class.
He's a good teacher. U have quizzes every week over stories. His essays are pretty easy just remember to write in present tense! Or he'll count off a lot of pts. He's very helpful. Good teacher!
this guy will do everything he can to help you if you cant come to class... you need to read what he tells you to and thats it. he teaches slow but he tells you exactly what you need to know so listen and you will get an A
He was a really easy teacher. He tells you everything you need to know was make sure you write it down. The tests are over what you read in the textbooks and he tells you exactly what you need to know for the test. There are a lot of grades so it's really easy to pass.
I found him to be somewhat interesting. YOu can certainly tell he has a passion for writing. His lectures do seem to drag on a little too much and he over analysize things a little too much. Just make sure you read what your supposed to and you'll pass with flying colors.
Great teacher straight to the point and made class somewhat interesting. He will answer questions about assingments after class and will allow you to make up assignments.Just go to class and pay attention and you will be alright.
Awesome teacher! He knows his stuff and it shows. He really made the class interesting because he points out things in stories that you never would have thought about. If you have the chance, take him!!!!!
The class lectures can be boring yet intresting at the same time. He really tears apart the plays, stories, and poems detail by detail. There is test over everything, super easy if you do the reading. I made a 90 on all 3 papers. made 95-100+ on test, made an A in the class and i missed alot. He doesnt mind if you miss, just send him an email why!
THIS CLASS WAS REALLY EASY. JUST DO ALL YOUR ASSIGNMENTS. HE SHOWS STUDENTS STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON ALL HIS ASSIGNMENTS. DO HIS WORK AND YOU WILL PASS.
Naylor is very nice, and his tests are easy so long as you read the material. His lectures seems to drag, though.
Naylor is very kind, but his class is extremely easy and boring. If you're a non-major looking for an easy class to take, enroll in one of his night classes. If you're a major and are scheduled to take one of his classes, I suggest you change professors if possible lest you be bored all semester and possibly unprepared for subsequent classes.
Easy teacher. Is a bit unclear about what he wants sometimes but he will always answer your questions if you are unsure. Unfortunately he takes off 2 points from your average per day you miss.
Good, interesting course. Do the reading and it's an easy B.
He is completely unclear on anything he wants. Honestly, I dread every second of his class and its unbelievably boring. I love English, but he makes me hate it. He's also making me loose my sanity! He's anti-social, and unless you want a class to sleep in, dont waste your time with him!
The easiest A. His test reviews are IDENTICAL to the tests so all you have to do is memorize. There are 3 or 4 tests, 1 essay and 1 research paper. You need the books because you use them during the essay part of the tests. The class itself is fall asleep boring, but the professor is very kind.
The easiest A. His test reviews are IDENTICAL to the tests so all you have to do is memorize. There are 3 or 4 tests, 1 essay (5 paragraphs) and 1 research paper(4 pages). The stories he read are sorta interesting. Highest two grades count twice and others will only count once. Easy A if little effort is put in. B if no effort
Easy teacher. The class is very boring and if you can stay awake you will have no problem passing.
Stories are good. He's very boring and he'll wait forever till you answer questions but its an easy class. He lets you add secondary sources to an essay you already wrote for your research paper so that's helpful. Overall, nice and easy but BORING.
Really easy class but way boring. I found it hard not to fall asleep but I ended up with an A in his class.
His assignments are easy. but staying awake to do them is difficult. If you pay attention you will pass, just like every other class. He knows the subject, just does not offer as much help that would probably be needed.
EASY CLASS. You can do corrections on your essays for 5 extra points. Reviews are exactly like the test. Research project basically you add 5 citations to one of your essays and thats your reasearch project. Class is boring but easy!! 3 essays minimum of 5 paragraphs.
Took him for comp. 2, reading quizzes are easy and he tells you what the questions are going to be for the most part. Tests are in class writing over stories, and a research project at the end is a big elaboration on one of those tests. Very boring to listen to, but easy class if you just read.
Naylor is awesome! I had him for 1301 & 1302. Very laid back, tells you exactly what will be on the tests, doesn't care if you turn in assignments late. He is a bit boring, but overall a great teacher.
Just plain awful. Take any other prof but him.
You can get an easy A. His test is formulated with 1/2 m.c. questions and 1/2 essay that are combined as an average as your test grade. Total of 3 tests. 1 research paper and 1 essay. The great thing about his class is he gives you a test review that covers all the questions on the test plus gives you the essay topic ahead of time. Take him!
He is way too BORING! However, he is easy on grading. He is sometimes unclear so u have to ask if u have any question. Attendance is not mandatory. Sometimes almost alf of my classmates were gone after the break but he doen't seem to care. Easy A though.
he is so boring but if you suck at english and hate writing a lot of papers take him its so easy you just read stories take a quiz which is super easy if you actually read. you will not pass if you dont read.
He's terribly boring, but a good teacher. He tells you exactly what he wants with his papers and so long as you follow his guidlines, you'll get an A. Most of the class left about halfway through, but he didn't seem to care about it much. You don't REALLY need to stay, but he does tend to give you good information if you do.
Easy class, he explains what he wants.
I would not recommend this class to English Majors. He literally took the life out of Literature. He doesnt lecture, he reads from the book. He does NOT clarify what he wants and if you ask him to clarify, he gives a dirty look and talks to you as if you were a child. He acts like he can not stand the subject he is teaching or his students.
I love english, but this class made me never want to write an essay again. He spelled out what he wanted, but God forbid you have a different opinion than him. He never gives a 100, except on reading quizzes. I think the highest grade anyone got in my class on a paper was a 96. I took a summer course, and 2 out of 5 weeks were spent only on grammar
Very Good Teacher but a no nonsence, one, you have to engage him into sharing with you because he is very knowledgeable but exspects you to be knowledgeable in your own right, the more he shares , the more you learn
ZzZzZzZzZz.... Oh sorry Professor Naylor was speaking haha definitely a snooze class...speaks slow and waits 10 min in silence for someone, anyone to answer, he grades easy but isn't always clear about what he wants until the day before the quiz/test...be ready to read 60+ pages in literature book.. Just saying
I am taking Tim Naylor for Comp 1, he is pretty boring, but very easy-going. He is not very clear on what he wants done for his assignments, but allows you to fix them. Tells you exactly what to expect on tests and lays out week by week plans on rubric. If you can stay awake through his monotone lectures, I would recommend taking this class.
Very boring person. Not much writing for a composition class. We wrote 4 essays and six short summaries over short stories. He grades your papers and gives them back and you can rewrite them for up to five more points which is pretty nice. (he puts corrections on your paper so it is really easy to correct)
The professor thinks his students are dumb and I don't blame him. He asked us if we knew what Hypothesis was and other similar questions. On his essays I suggest you stay on topic and not write a book. He cares more about grammar not content. Research Papers are more about content.
easy class if you pay attention and do you work. Does make you write a few summaries on "short stories" and some essays. The essays have to be at least 5 paragraphs long, which is nothing compared to other teachers. 5 points can be added to nearly every assignment as long as you rewrite it. He's pretty old but also kinda funny at times.
He is a tough grader, never saw any grades higher then a 90, you take a lot of testquizzes but you get to leave class when finished, some quizzes over stories out of the book is open book. If you study the Review for the test, its an easy A. The hardest part of the class is staying awake, interested, and paying attention.
reading from book, gives reviews for tests that are easy, paper comes from the readings.
I showed up to class on time everyday, except for a few times when I missed due to work, I took notes and studied for every exam. I always scored in the 90s when I took the examstests but I never achieved a grade higher than an 88 on the written parts. He told me to look online when I asked for help after class. He doesn't seem to enjoy teaching.
Professor gives back essays and summaries to let you correct them for a higher grade. gives you sufficient time on the essays.
So not helpful even if you ask
he never really grades anything more than an 85 at most, he tends to jump off topic and doesn't really seem to enjoy his job.
Professor Naylor isn't terrible, in fact he can be funny when he wants to be and gives generally good feedback. However, he is monotone and doesn't exactly scream passionate about his job. He is an intelligent man and on the up side, he is understanding about absences. Just be sure to let him know if you have an issue with attendance for any reason
There weren't too many writing assignments(3 essays, and 5 summaries based off of readings from the book). Grades mostly by grammar rather than content. Does't engage with the class too much, except for throwing in a few jokes every now and then. Pretty straight forward. Would take again.
He's a good teacher who grades your papers by grammar and whether or not your point come across clearly. He is very clear on what he expects and even gives a calendar of the work you will be assigned. He does grades bit hard, but his feedback was very helpful. I didn't think we needed the text book, but you use it a few times for the short essays.
This is the probably easiest English 2 class college has to offer. With that being said; he is ALWAYS in a bad mood, he "requests" class participation and either cuts you off or looks like he wants to shoot himself any time you open your mouth. He LITERALLY sighed saying "one more week" after the ONE TIME we/I got him to laugh in the WHOLE semester
He is very soft spoken and kind of monotone. Not warm and fuzzy at all. Watched several movies and spent a lot of class time going over instructions for assignments. Easy A but there's a lot of reading and paper writing.
Very monotone and doesnt change the pitch of his voice when he lectures; he makes the classes feel super long. There was a reading test almost every week (easy if you read the stories). Essays arent too hard to comprehend; he is a really tough grader. Do your work on time and youll be okay, even though youll dread going to class every week.
Not the worst professor but not an easy A.
