One of the easiest professor I ever had here. He doesn't care if you show up to class or not. He tests on things he only gives in his notes, and he is a funny guy. What is better than that?

Awesome prof! Quizes and tests all come from the notes. Don't have to go to class, but its too interesting to miss. To top it off, he's a liberal, what more can you ask for?

To make it short and simple... you will not want to miss his class.

I havn't had a better teacher. He tells you word for word what is going to be on each test. If you study a page or two of notes before each test/quiz it's easy to get at least a B/A range.

Awesome teacher, my fave by far. He explains things well and also relates it to his own life. Tells you what is going to be on the test so all you have to do is mark it in your notes and study it..easy grade.

Unbelievably nice and willing to work with students. Seems to really love his job; easiest guy in the world to get along with. Unfortunately, his courses are spoon-fed material that is far too easy to merit college credit. Needs to challenge students.

Most teachers at KU show videos in half the classes and then test you on material you haven't learned, but Oboyle actually teaches and you are tested on the notes he gives which makes it pretty easy and you actually learn something. I recommend him.

I've taken all his classes. I learned more in his classes than all my others combined. He teaches not just about the course, but about life too. He is one of those professors that you will remember for the rest of your life. Everyone at KU should take at least one of his courses - it should be required.

Far and away the best prof at KU. Take him if you can get into one of his classes. I tried for two years before I could get one. Well worth the wait.

Strongly, strongly, strongly recommend this class. He is genious. Not only does he make the class enjoyable and awesome but his tests come right from his lectures which coincide with the book. Attendance isn't mandatory but trust me that won't be an issue. Awesome lectures!!

Easiest professor. Does not do minus grading only plus. will flat out read verbatim 75% what is on the test. his policy changed so that there is use of the 1/4 in thick txt book. all tests are online, drops the lowest grade out of 5 tests.

One of the best professors on the Kutztown campus! taken many of his classes and loved them all. He is super easy and makes class interesting. Love him and will continue to take any clases with him i can. Easiest A youll ever get.

Long story short... all the tests are online. Read the chapters if you know whats good for you. Lowest test gets dropped (out of 5). Go to class and write down what he tells you to. I got an 89 average at the end of the semester and he gave me the A. Overall an easy class, but he does rant A LOT. Looking forward to taking him again.

Oboyle is an absolute pleasure to have as a professor. He teaches/communicates things that are relevant as an undergrad, grad student, and even after graduation. While his job title may read "professor" he is first and foremost a great person. You will not be disappointed with anything he wants to "teach" you.

EASIEST gen ed class possible. All exams are online and open book. Class attendance is optional. If you're going to be one of these people who won't show up to class, just read the book (though I recommend showing up because his lectures are hilarious). If you do well on all the exams throughout the semester, you're exempt from the final.

EASIEST ELECTIVE EVER. You have two options: buy the textbook and never come to class; or don't buy the textbook and come to class. I suggest the second option. His lectures are funny. You can use a laptop and he is super laid-back.

Funny prof, makes lots of jokes and makes the class fun. His lectures are laid back and he always wants the class to have fun while theyre there. All online tests and he tells you how to pass easily. Great sense of humor and makes the class easy. Overall, I give him a 910 and hes an easy A if you put in the work.

O'Boyle is the maaaaan. Go to class, take good notes and you'll pass with flying colors. Tell funny stories that relate to the material. Wants you to enjoy class and always gives us life tips along the way. A very relaxed professor and I can tell he really loves to teach. Highly recommended.

O'Boyle makes Sociology fun and interesting because he takes the hard parts that seem confusing and makes it easy to understand. The class is mainly online tests so you can work in the comfort of your dorm. He is a good guy and loves what he does!

I took as an elective, only hard part about this online class is making sure you are self diciplined to do the reading. Every week we have a test on two chapters. There are two discussion posts consisting of your own post and a reply on another students. 4 easy 100s. There are five exams each worth 100 points. lowest exam is dropped. easy A

He's really sharp and at the same time he has a plain-spoken working class style that everyone can understand. Unlike some of the other big lecture classes he really cares about you and your learning. He's also humorous. His class changed the way I think about life, which is to say it added a lot.

Oboyle is not only a fantastic professor but he is a fantastic person as well. Show up to class and take notes for a guaranteed A. Seriously do yourself a favor and take this class. PS. Only buy the book if you plan on not going to class. I bought it and never opened it.

This dude is the man. I went to the first two classes and realized I do not even have to go. The only four grades you get are all exams and all the answers to the exams are on quizlet. I actually forgot to do an exam one time and the exam period was over and I emailed him and he let me choose when it was best for me to take the exam. He is a boss!

if you are taking his online class don't listen to ANYTHING listed above. You HAVE to read and study hard because his exams are NOT easy and they are NOT posted on quizlet or online at all. Found that out the hard way.

I skipped class for 34 of the semester and still walked away with an A. All of the tests are online and completely open note. Everything can be found on quizlet. Also, if you do well on all the exams throughout the semester, you're exempt from the final exam. EASY class to fulfill a gen ed requirement!

Professor Timothy Oboyle, is an amazing professor. He makes class lectures fun, he tells you everything you need to know for the exams. His class is an easy A, as long as you have the note for the exams their is no way you couldn't pass his class.

O'Boyle is a great professor. If you like learning without the stress of paper and anxiety of tests, he is a great professor. There are five exams but he drops the lowest one, and he emphasizes everything that will be on exams. The exams are online.

Super easy teacher. Just go to class and take notes. All his test are online. The only problem is that you take 5 tests, the lowest one is dropped, and the average of the other 4 is your grade.

Best prof on campus, i took SOC10 just for a gen-ed and it was my favorite class all semester. He's really smart and knows what he is talking about, but also funny. He has lots of funny stories to go along with his lectures, and he is open about cursing which he does a lot. Theres only 4 tests online and they're super easy. TOTALLY RECOMMEND

Literally the easiest A I've ever gotten. If you buy the book and read the chapters, you don't have to go to class. However, he's really funny and generally a cool guy, so I'd suggest going anyway.

Such an easy class! He tells you exactly what is on the exams and out of 5 exams he only counts your best 4! Definitely recommend!!! easy gpa boost!

Honestly the best professor at Kutztown. I would switch my major to sociology if I could take him for every single course. Genuinley the best part about Kutztown. Had him for both SOC10 and SOC245, if his class is filled just email. Looking forward to taking another one of his classes next semester too. I enjoyed going to his classes so much!

Professor OBoyle is an easy class to take. I highly recommend him. 5 online tests and the lowest grade gets dropped. His classes are nothing but lectures but he makes a lot of jokes and connects topics to your real life. You dont have to show up to class because he doesnt take attendance, but it does make the tests easier.

Dr. O'Boyle is a great professor, during my 4 years at KU I had him multiple times. I do NOT recommend him for Online Juvenile Delinquency. The exams are BRUTAL! About 15 questions are from his powerpoints/notes and the others are from God knows where. Can not find them in the textbook or on google. NOT an easy A!!!!! Do not be fooled like I was :)

Not only a phenomenal professor, but a great man in general. He is the kind of professor that wants his students to pass. Easy A/B for any college level student. Your final grade is determined by 4 exams (lowest grade drops) and all of them are online. This guy is also hilarious and has a pretty interesting life. 10/10 from me

I barely showed up for his classes and passed each test with an A. He's a good guy, but his lectures were kind of boring to sit through since I knew I didn't need to listen to pass.

You take 5 test over the entire semester and he uses the best 4 out of the 5 tests as your grade. They are all online and have 50 questions in 50 minutes. Lectures are entertaining and he is funny but also very real. You can use Socratic on tests and not even take notes during lectures and end with an A or B overall. Great class for a GPA boost!

I love love love this professor. He doesnt give a crap if you dont go to class, I went to class every time but besides the point. He was funny and genuine. His tests were easy if you paid attention to his lectures and write everything down. Would recommend you take this prof for anything he teaches. Love him!

The tests were a little difficult but he was really helpful with grading. There was a few easy assignments, if you complete them you should get a 100. He says he's redesigning the course to make it less difficult which should be really helpful. Overall I'd take it again, you learn interesting things at your own pace, and its difficult to fail.

He is very easygoing on everything. All exams are online. Is very sweet

This prof was one of my fav profs so far in Kutztown. He is one cool dude, he reads you the notes and basically tells you what to write down for the test, and he will even spell words for you if you don't know how to spell lol.

Despite the class being all online, it was super fun to take and I feel as if I actually learned. The class is fairly simple and doing the assignments can get you an easy 100. Definitely recommend.

He loves talking a lot in lectures but they are mostly entertaining and informative. He tells you what you need for the exam and exams are open note. He is very laid back and funny. Love this guy.

Dr. O'Boyle is very knowledgeable about sociology and makes the class interesting. He swears occasionally and tells it the way it is. The 5 exams are the only grades throughout the semester, with the lowest grade being dropped at the end of the semester. The online textbook is not 100% necessary. He waits for you to write down notes!

I recommend this class to everyone, easiest A youll ever get at this school. He tells you exactly what to notetake, and the exams are all online. He does rant a lot so the lectures can drag. I recommend reading the textbook, but youd probably be fine with just notes. He does not give trigger warnings EVER. He will talk about sensitive topics.

Tim Oboyle is the best! He is the teacher that convinced me to take up a minor in sociology because that is how much I enjoyed his SOC 10 class, I've taken 2 online classes with him, in spring 2022 and both loved them!! I plan to take another one in fall 2022. Seriously, this man is a legend!!

Professor O'Boyle is a great professor! He only requires 5 exams to pass in his class and does not assign homework or assignments. *BEWARE* Sometimes he speaks his mind, whether you like it or not. But he laid back and his lectures are interesting to listen to.

Very easy class, and it is only graded by tests which are open note. I definitely recommend taking any of Dr. O'Boyle's classes.

Tim's strange but in the best way. I took Soc 10 and Sociology of Deviance and both were super easy. Grades are only based on 5 tests, but the lowest of the 5 is automatically dropped. The online classes also have 2 short discussion posts (300-ish words each) and attendance kinda matters for in-person classes, but he's entertaining so it's fun.

Will recommend him to literally everyone. Helps you out if you need it, he is very understanding. He responds to his emails within a reasonable amount of time and cares about his students grades. I promise you won't regret taking him. his class was easy and straight to the point. Would take him for every class if i could.

Tells you exactly what to write down/know for tests. Goes on tangents a LOT. Very vulgar and has some wild views on things, but he's an interesting man and I would 100% recommend his class.

He was certainly interesting. His lectures were really good, but he was definitely opinionated and didn't shy away from expressing that. He's criticized Biden and says he likes Trump, but a lot of what he says would make it seem the opposite due to him teaching about systemic issues and such. Funny guy though. 4 exams + final, lowest gets dropped.

Interesting professor with strong opinions. Lectures can be long but informative. Exams are fair, with the lowest dropped. Unstuckstudy AI was a lifesaver for prepping.

He is passionate for the subject and makes the class interesting. Sometimes he goes off on tangents, but it's always entertaining to hear his stories. He is also very encouraging and supportive, and he tells you the real facts and skips the BS. He does sometimes overshare about himself and his life, but overall he's a great professor. 10/10
