He is an OK professor. He tells you what you need to know to get a good grade. You have tests and reports. Sometimes confusing because Statistics is a confusing subject. You earn what you get and no curves.

Loved the class and the way he teaches. Gives a lot informations in one class but very helpful. He's a very good teacher and organized.The powerponi slides were great. Gets mad when people blabb while he talks but he gets over it.

Is pretty good at presenting material but is very condescending to undergrads. Doesn't know much outside of the specific region he studies (as a consequence, must continually refer to his field work). Very arrogant. Would be a much better professor if he could get over himself.

he teaches like a high-school teacher, so everything he teaches are very (very) clear. easy midterms and final. just take him, you wouldn't regret. he's a very good prof!!!!

Great class but a lot of work.

First off, you dont have to read the book just go to class. He talks for hours but knows exactly what he's talking about. Midterm and Final only, and he gives a review sheet for both. Both tests are basicaly staright from his lectures. Power Point presentation makes it easy to copy down the notes.

He has quizzes. Look over your notes before each class. The midterm and final are easy. Once again look over your notes. The book was a waste of money.

Take good notes & read book for one of the easiest A's at Queens. Very cool powerpoint.

Gave a lot of simple quizes.Mostly straight forward exams. Offered an extra credit assignment to students who were doing poorly. Really interesting material. I would take another class of his again. Don't bother to buy the textbook.

Very helpful. Clear in his lectures, great PP presentations. Book was great as well, too bad we didn't really use it. Don't even worry about buying it. Just pay attention in class and you will do well.

MOre interesting than I though this course would be, but a lot of notes and reading. No films, no PP, just lots of talking. He curves.

Great Professor! If you can, take him. His notes are very clear. Although the textbook is not needed to pass needed to pass his tests it can help boost your grade and it's a good reference. Highly recommend.

He's okay. Not too easy, but not so hard. He wants you to pass, but be prepared to work hard for it.

I really liked his class, he makes something like archaeology be actually interesting. he has clear powerpoints & makes review sheets for all 3 tests. he makes jokes & is a fair grader and very helpful and really wants to see all of his students pass. i recommend him.

His exams are straighforward as long as you memorize his notes....he made the class really interesting....and it helps that he's pretty easy on the eyes:)

Seems easier than he actually is. His exams are pretty tricky but all multiple choice. Not an easy A, but I didnt do any work the whole semester and got an A-. Also he happens to be really, really, ridiculously good looking.

pretty good teacher not the smartest guy but always a fair grader and offers extra credit class is boring but he gives you 95% of the stuff you need for tests on the slides. NO NEED TO BUY BOOK. if you do tho use that facebook group for it youll save $$$ ... he repeats stuff and thinks he cool cuz hes gone down and researched his precious mayans!

He is very knowledgeable and one of the few teschers in queens college who deserves to be called professor.

He's definitely Hot!! class is relaxing and fun but his teaching is not very organized, so one really look forward to LEARN you must read the book, if you juz want to pass class, then juz study his class notes! tests are based on notes. there's extra credits if you are not doing so well in class.

Prof. Pugh is intelligent, witty, fun, fair, & hot. I could only imagine the frustration he must have felt (w/his multiple publications & awards)tryng to lecture to a class half filled with ringing phones and idle chatter. In regards to the comment below, Pugh is an extremely helpful professor. He is extremely patient and will stop his lesson at any time to answer any questions and make sure that everyone is on the same page. He is always open for extra help/office hours. He is very clear on the final proposal paper. Overall a great,and highly educated professor

Lots of notes which are used for the midterm and the final...the book is used for the final proposal...random pop quizzes which are mad easy...pretty good teacher...BORING...if u need it for a requirement then take it b/c its better than other classes, but as an elective, try to stay away unless ur interested in proposal writing

This is the most boring class ever. I still don't know why this class is being taught. prof Pugh is just doing his job I guess, but if you have other choices other than this class,don't take this one. It will be a looooog semester if you do.

ok the class is def boring but really not that bad. i really liked prof pugh & thought he was really helpful..he always stays after class & offers help to any1. Its a pretty heavy work load but as long as you go to class its not had at all to do well. I thought he was a really nice guy & tried to make it as intresting as possible

Great class. Heavy workload but he tell you exactly wats going to be on every exam with this awesome review sheet. He even breaks down stuff off of the review sheet if your confused. Take him.

this class is amazingly interesting. i had my doubts at the beginning of the semester, but O.O . he works in the field so he incorporates his work in the lectures. tests are fairly easy as long as you study the notes, which are straight foward all the way. he's willing to help you out when you need it. overall a really great professor!

I took this class without needing it to cover any credit, just for fun and i'm glad i did. He is a great professor, he is very clear with his lectures, he gives you plenty of classes for extra credit, his personality reflects positively in his work. i would recommend this class to anyone even if your not 100% intereseted in anthropology

He was very nice and att. isn't mandatory! No use of textbook. He gives a study sheet and gives a decent curve. Three test and some quizes. Easy A if you do well on exams; just look over your notes the day before and you'll do fine. All on power points and pretty clear. Recommend prof. Pugh.

Outstanding professor. Deeply fascinating to finally get to learn about these topics - especially from an active archaeologist working on Mayan sites in Guatemala. Its a lecture class but peppered with real life experience. Take this class.

Big lecture class, and he talks fast (too much coffee, as he says) but gives chances to ask questions. Tests are multiple choice, and study sheets for each test are very thorough. Textbook is somewhat useful. Easy class to cover SS, WC, and PI for Perspectives requirements.

Great Professor, talks fast, but he always asks if anything needs to be repeated or was not understood. Exams are easy if you take good notes and study. Gives out reviews and curves exam grades. Also opportunity for extra credit. He's very thorough with his info, and it's an interesting subject which he has a passion for.

LOVE Dr. Pugh! He's really interested in the topic which makes the class enjoyable. Gives a review sheet for every test and grades on a curve. EXCELLENT class.

This class was very boring. If you are interested in the topitc,then you might enjoy it more. He gives three tests, and if you actually study for them, you will do fine. Attendence is not mandatory and he gives a few extra credit assignments that help you boost your grade.

This professor knows his material extremely well, though it makes sense since he is an archaeologist actively working in projects. Tip: Go to class!!!!! It is undoubtedly going to help you on the exams since it is mostly based on his lectures. He is a great professor who is very funny as well.

Incredibly enthusiastic - probably the most enthusiastic professor I've ever had (in a good way) - and a great lecturer. He keeps it interesting and keeps topics moving and to the point. Not too much homework and not too much reading, and great with working with students in groups and individually. A good guy and great professor.

Great teacher, super super smart and well versed in what he teachers. One of the best in the school, but beware his test are hard and tricky. My class didn't have a required text but he nicely scanned readings for us to save the class money.

This class is a lot of work. There are 3 exams throughout the semester, and he generally divides it up evenly. Even though some of the material may be dry and boring, he does try to help you as much as he can. He also gave us 2 extra credit assignments which helped my grade out a lot.

The greatest professor Queens College has to offer. He will truly make you love archaeology.

You won't find an easier class in Queens College. Take this class!

I took Professor Pugh for Archaeology. He covers a LOT of information and PowerPoints are not put on Blackboard. You can definitely get an A in the course by taking very good notes and studying. But you have to put in the effort.

Pretty straightforward class. Didn't open the textbook once but got a solid B in the class, though I completed his easy video assignments and easily finished exams. He provides the study guides for all exams, put in the work to learn the terms and it should be easy. Attendance not mandatory but he will not provide the powerpoints so be careful.

He doesn't give slides, so you have to come to class to take notes. It helps though cause the answers come to you on test day this way! Assigns a few video assignments (write a page about it) easy. Had extra credit assignments. I learned some interesting stuff, I would take this class again if i could! I definitely recommend his class! :)

I loved this teacher. He makes very interesting classes, their explanations are very clear. He does interest you in archaeology even though if you have no idea in the subject. At the end you will have many interesting knowledge. In summary I loved it and recommend him!

Great and very straight forward professor. You are tested on slides (which he does not post), so come to class and take notes for sure. The material is not hard or terribly boring. I never once used the textbook, but managed to get a 95+ on both tests. Also 2 easy video assignments and extra credit too. Definitely worth taking!

Professor Pugh is adorable! I love him! He is a wonderful professor and a fair grader. His lectures were interesting and he is also very nice. It was cool listening to his travel stories and also his outside work in the field. Take him!!!!

Great teacher, really knows his stuff, gives extra credit opportunities, and is super flexible with due dates of projects. Assignments arent so clear and he often goes off topic in his lectures. He seems like he doesn't like to give out 100's but there is still a chance to do well.

Going into Professor Pugh's class, I was not interested in archaeology. Professor Pugh makes it enjoyable and interesting. 2 midterms and a final; 2 video assignment, and tons of extra credit. Curves his exams when necessary. He is available to help his students. His exams are very fair, but you need to memorize everything he says!

Pugh is amazing! I was never interested in archaeology but he lectures so well I was never bored! The material is easy but A LOT of notes, he DOES NOT post PP slides so you need to show up. Grade is on 3 tests 28% weighted each, 2 video assignments weighted 12% overall and 4% participation and lots of EC. Great class but you gotta work for the A

He is an excellent professor who can keep you engaged with his relaxed and caring demeanor. Lectures are straightforward, and necessary to pass the exams. The material can get a tad dry at times, but he makes up for it with his delivery. Best of all, he has tons of extra credit chances that can end up bumping your entire grade up one. Take him!

Professor Timothy Pugh is a passionate person, you literally feel his passion for his topics during lectures. My favorite class this semester! He gives over the info really well and is funny, kind and super down to earth. Lectures were interesting and he does whatever he can to boost his students' grades. Attendance wasn't taken, but you should still show up and take notes, you'll definitely do better. I'd take this class over if I could!! TAKE HIM!!

You can learn everything you need in class just by listening to his lecture and taking notes or taking pictures of the PowerPoint slides to make it easy . 80% exam questions come from lectures, and only 20% comes from the reading he assigns. There are 3 exams (30% each) and 2 YouTube video reaction essay (5% each) and a ton of extra credit essays.

A wonderful lecturer. His lectures were interesting and concise. Lets you out 5 mins early. Show up, take notes, study right b4 the exam. There shouldnt be a reason you finish with less than an A.

Prof. gives excellent lectures! There are readings every week. Three short papers, one big paper (not hard), midterm, and finals. Exams are mc and short responses. No review sheet, but everything is covered in the lecture & from reading&videos. Review at least a week before the exam so you can ask him questions during class for the review section.

His class was straightforward and based off the syllabus: 2 exams & the final, along with 2 video writing assignments. In order to do good, you need to take detailed notes because the questions are specific. He offers extra credit, you need to work to achieve a good grade, concepts taught in class were interesting, take him.

we are graded by a few things, 3 exams and 2 assignment (super easy). the exams are all based on his lectures, which he posts on blackboard. he has given extra credit assignments and he'll curve the tests. it's hard trying to fail his class, honestly. his lectures can be boring sometimes but he's truly a nice guy.

Professor Pugh is a solid professor. 3 tests and 2 assignments where you summarize a video, offers ec. Lectures are interesting. Important thing is taking detailed notes of lectures, cant stress this enough, since tests are mostly based off them. Prof. Pugh wasn't bad at all. He has great lectures and he tells stories to prove his points, be sure you pay attention to not miss any points. Homework is little, he gives 3 papers about a page long throughout the semester but it's very fair. His tests aren't bad either if you study and watch the videos that he provides along with study sheets.

Timothy Pugh is an amazing professor. I went into his class with no knowledge whatsoever, science is my weakest subject, and he gave amazing lectures and information that actually made me interetsed in anthropology. Your grade consists of 3 exams and theres extra credit opportunities. You need to attend his lectures to do well on exams.

Honestly easy professor, you just NEED to take notes in every class and make sure they're VERY detailed, he will test you on it most likely. There are only 3 exam grades: Exam 1: 30%, Exam 2: 33%, Exam 3: 33%. Accessible outside of lecture if you need help explaining. He seems extremely experienced in teaching, and knows the material by heart.

This was the second class I took w this prof. His tests can be a little difficult, since he doesn't share slides or a study guide. That being said, show up to class and office hours. His lectures are fun and impart everything you need. If I had shown up more often, I think I could have aced the class; that's on me, not the professor. He's cool.
