Currently taking this guy and I highly recommend him. Very fair guy. He may even let you choose as to how you want your mid-term and final. Of course we picked take home. You have to buy a math software for his class, but it will help you greatly. You may have a project but he scrapped ours and made our hw assignments worth more, so that was a plus

Definatley the best math teacher I have ever had! Extremely helpful and extremely patient! Even gave us a take home exam! He does assign quite a bit of homework and you do have to buy software for it, but it helps SO much! I've never understood or liked math until I took this course!

Dr.Redl is a really good teacher. He is not your average math teacher. He goes the extra mile to help people like me that aren't to good in math. What math teacher would give 10 and 20 points extra on a test and let you use a calculator on test? He does give alot of homework but if you show effort he will give you a 100 for each. Highly rec. : )

Professor Redl is the MOST AMAZING professor I've had at UH-D. I had him for Finite Math and his examples are easy to follow because they can be used in everyday situations. I hated MyMathLab homework because it was different from his notes but it's manageable

For ALL test, lets you use a sheet of notes. Very helpful & easy to learn. HW is done online but you get good practice & it needs to be completed by the test date. Easy grade as long as you do the work.

Mr. Redl is the BEST math teacher at UHD. His notes are easy to understand, homework is online (MyMath Lab), and on all tests you are allowed a sheet of notes. I HIGHLY recommend this class, I plan on taking his CALC class in the spring. GREAT PROFESSOR :D

I took finite math with him, he is the greatest teacher ever!!!! It's true, if you get below a B in this class you are stupid!!!! I recomend him for any math class. I'm taking him this fall for Calc.

No textbook required however you will need to purchase it on line to do MML homework, which is very helpful. He's the greatest professor & really helps you pass. No interest in the subject but he makes it easier. A sheet of notes will be allowed on test days.

L-O-V-E this class!!! He is super easy and says corny jokes but for a 8:30AM class he made me laugh and woke me up. Take notes, do your MML homework, and do your cheat sheet and you'll be fine. He does everything he can to help you. You don't need to buy the text book b/c it's online but hardly ever use it!!! I'm so taking him again!!!! =)

Highly recommended. Dr. Redl is understanding, approachable, and gives his students every opportunity to do well. He offers extra credit and is super thorough. He breaks concepts down to the most basic level to make sure you understand; so, if you're a math whiz or a really fast learner, you might get a little bored.

Dr. Redl is an excellent Math professor. He will work with you and help you out until you understand the material and he likes it when students come to visit him in his office. Take him!! He's easy, provides lots of extra credit to pass the class and gives review sheets out before each tests and I passed his class with an A.

Dr. Redl is a great professor! Attendance is mandatory and so is your online math work (make a certain grade it will replace a test grade). Make sure you do it because it's extremely helpful! The test are a bit hard so that's where doing the homework and quizzes help you out in preparing. I highly recommend taking this class.

Great teacher!! I took his class during the Summer 3 mini. He was very clear and concise during his lectures. He explained each topic thoroughly making sure all of us understood to the best of our abilities. The quizzes had no surprises, he gave us take home tests which proved challenging but we were allowed to work with our classmates. I wish I had him for College Algebra years ago.

Amazing teacher. I took him for both 1301 and 1306 and received an A in both. He makes the material very easy to understand and is very easy to approach and will help. I highly recommend this professor. He is excellent.

Good professor. Explains & write everything down on black board in class. If there's something you need help with, just drop by his office & he'll explain it for you again. I haven't been in school since 2005 & was never very good at math but Dr Redl is so good that I passed his class with a good grade. He tells the funniest math jokes!

Had Dr Redl for Bus Calculus & Operation Research in fall 13. He explains material clearly & precisely, write things down on the board, rarely uses PP. He gives quizzes & take home assignments to help your grade. I've never been good at math but two class w/ Dr. Redl changed everything. Rearrange your schedule to take his classes, he's that good!

Great professors! Show up to class, pay attention and study. Its Calculus so you need to need to study but he makes it easy to understand and he is there for you if you need any help. Plus he gives you extra credit on exams.

In my 3 years at UHD, I can say unequivocally that Dr. Redl is the best math teacher & best teach in the whole school. He is that good! Very clear, well planned & delivered lectures. He makes hard subjects like OP Research seem almost easy. And if you need help, just stop by his office and he'll tutor you personally. Great teacher!

Overall he is a great professor but is really strict when it comes to grading he will not make any exceptions for anyone. Best advice is to submit all the assigned homework on time, his tests are difficult but the final is made extra easy allowing students to recover from poor tests.

3 exams not including final. Only have to take the final if you dont meet a certain criteria. Do online HW, this counts for a good sum of your grade. Gives EC on all exams. Test are based on lecture and some from online HW. gives in-class assignments which are basically free 100s. Stay for SI sessions, the notes given here will help on the exams.

If I described this class in one word would be AWESOME!!!! Professor Redl is the best math professor ever. Mymathlab homework is easy if you show up to class. Took him for Summer 1 and we only had 3 take home tests, we could ask him questions about the test and he wouldn't hesitate to help me! TAKE HIM!! You won't regret it!!

Do yourself a favor and TAKE HIM! He was the best thing that ever happened to me! So professional and is willing to help in any way he can! & guess what? HE RESPONDS BACK TO EMAILS!! This professor was by far the best one I ever had in UHD, he is very helpful and gives extra credit that is applied to your test. Do your math lab homework and study it and you will definitely pass!

Professor Redl is an awesome professor. I am currently taking him for Finite Math. He responds to email/questions quickly. He uses MyMathLab which has worked great for me in this class. Would love to take him for Calculus in the fall, but I don't think he is teaching it. I have had an overall great experience in his class this semester.

He responds quickly to e-mails. Math is tough online, so if you struggle with it, I would recommend taking him in person. Online participation homework is required along with Math assignments weekly. He gives you plenty of time to complete the work. Exam questions are based on homework assignments. Do the homework and you will know the material.

3 tests, homework is a lot but do it before the test. Show up to class and do all of the reviews that he says it is extra credit. It is very good and might be similar to the test. Very respectful, if you do your work it is an easy A. Practice notes because every single thing is on the test. GOOD LUCK. He is amazing! TAKE HIM

Dr. Redl is an amazing professor. I would take him for any class because he takes his job seriously and provides everyone with the tools they need to succeed. Also, he has an open door policy if you are stuck on a concept. He truly loves his work and it reflects in the classroom making the experience more enjoyable even if you don't like math.

TAKE HIM!!!!! Took him for Sum I(5 wks). HW, 3 exams (open book & exactly as hw problems)& a final(?s from exams). Gives plenty of extra credit opportunities, so "don't ask for extra credit" his words. He was accessible in person to help clarify material. If you do the work, easy A. He curves on all exams. I passed with an A. I enjoyed class!

He is an amazing person. Very educated and gives you all the respect you want. Do MyMathLab before the test, not the day before but a couple of days before the test, it will help a lot. Study all of your notes because everything will be on your test. Do the review, show up to class, submit class participation assignments. :)

Took this class online, but I got a great impression from him. He always sent us emails to check how we were doing on mymathlab and offered help. Provided all the tools we needed to pass. Course itself was ok, but he made it a bit easier. 5/5

Dr. Redl made math easy to understand. If I could take him for all of my math classes I would. Math is truly his passion. The homework is online and tests are during class. The tests won't feel like tests because you will actually know the material and how to solve the problems! He will even wear his lucky socks for you on test days.

Dr. Redl is one of the best online professors at UHD. He actually cares and pays attention to his online students. If you missed an assignment or a test, he is usually lenient and gives you another chance. He is really good about reminding you of due dates too. He also is good about emailing you back fast. Great professor!

Best math Prof. at UHD. Make sure you take good notes and stay on top of the homework! If you miss class it is hard to catch up because it is lecture heavy and fast paced. However his light humor keeps the class relaxed (most of the time). He does help you catch up in person and via email if you need it. If you fail, you are an idiot.

Great online course. Super easy if you do all of the homework, you get unlimited tries. Bonus on tests when you get 85+ on HW. Took it during the summer and I went on vacation during the course and I was able to take the test later in the week. Teacher is super understanding of schedule issues and that you have a life. Would take him again for sure

The sweetest dude ever, honestly. Super laid back and understanding. Pretty lenient with deadlines even when, personally, he shouldn't be, because he's generous enough. Constantlyyyy asks the class if anyone is lost/confused/in need of further explanation. Homework is dead easy most of the time. He's the only one who can make math not scary.

Taking Dr. Redl, was awesome he teaches amazing, gives awesome examples, and really helps you understand math. I was able to get an A, even though I struggled with math. gives so many opportunities for extra credit on the tes and in class. Opens up MyMathLab at the end so you can do assignments you might have missed and replaced lowest test grade.

Take this professor! He truly cares about his students and wants to make sure you leave understanding the material. Even though it was online he surveyed the class so we can meet online and ask any questions and he reviews the chapters. Do the homework the test is exactly like the homework. He gives you extra credit as long as you do your homework

His lectures are not boring and makes them clear and understandable. he is very nice and really helpful when you dont understand. you dont really need to go to the textbook unless you need help zybook is helpful although you can just keep clicking on answers to get through it. Honestly, he made me like math. There are two simple assignments every week and you have to buy an access code for WebAssign. The whole class is so flexible and non-stressful halfway through the semester. Hope to finish up with an A.

I love prof Redl's class! Everything was done through Mymath lab except for the final (proctored). Activities participation (easy A). Very timely with responses, flexible. You do not have to be present for Zoom and some are recorded. Extra points are offered, late assignments accepted for 50% which is better than a zero. full time worker (friendly)

Take professor Redl! He is a great teacher by encouraging and being patient with his students.

Dr. Redl is very interested in student success; he provides an optional Zoom where he goes over any questions on any of the assignments. He uses Pearson online, which provides thorough guidance on how to solve problems. I strongly suggest you start on the homework ASAP as they can quickly become overwhelming, especially if math is not your forte.

Amazing professor, heading into mid-terms with College Algebra Honors and he definitely meets the standard I was looking for in a top professor rating.

If taking honors college algebra, he is the professor for you. He is among the best math teacher I have learned from in 15 years of learning math. He goes over everything and if you don't understand the content, he stops and goes back and explains the content step by step without sounding frustrated or annoyed.
