This class is not that hard if you study and listen to the lectures online or in class. You must study the notes.

I took the online class and was a little nervous considering it has a lab; however, his way of teaching online is awesome! His online lectures and labs allows you to understand the material just as if you were in the classroom. Don't expect it to be easy because there is so much info in A&P, but study the notes and you'll do well!

He is very good with his teaching, very helpful,you have to read the book if want an A in the class and study hard. He is very helpful in answering questions and his lecture notes are his test.He got lecture practice exams and lectures online also to help you if you didn't understand the material in class or missed it. I loved his class.

I enjoyed this class, if you study and attend class you will do great, he is very good about telling you what areas to focus on for the exams. The exams are pretty tough but directly from his lecture/notes

I took the online A&P class. I am always a little sketchy about taking online classes because im not the best on the computer, but he was very helpful with any problems i had. The site was easy to navigate through and would take any class tought by him again.

Mr. Shay is an excellent teacher! He already provides you with lecture notes, and has online videos for further clarification. However this not an easy course, regardless of the teacher. class attendance isnt mandatory, but labs are. I would highly recommend him!

I took Tim over the summer. There was a lot of information covered, but he provides you with helpful study materials. Not only do you listen to his lectures in class, but you can watch them online as well. Also, he provides online flash cards, lab models + tutorials. His tests are very structured and you always know what to expect.Great teacher!

Mr. Shay provided several study materials for the tests. I learned a lot in his class and love anatomy. He was a really great teacher. I was dissapionted in his lack of response to some of my emails.

He was an awesome teacher! There is tons of material and you will have to study hard, but Tim makes it fun. I say take him on campus its a lot easier than online and you get all the extra material to use online too which really helps.

This rating is for the lab section of BSC2084L. I took the online course (lecture and lab). Mr. Shay has great presentations though I found it difficult to take the online labs as the images didn't conistently match either the presentations or the text. I did better on the lab exams than the online quizzes.

I think that this is a hard class to do on line. Mr. Shay seemed very open and helpful the few times I got to see him.

very hard material, great professor for it. i took a&p online and it is the best online setup i've ever used. some of the online labs were hard to define, but if you do them early and watch the presantations it helps tramendously. don't take the a&p if you dont have to, but if forced take shay for sure.

You definitely have to study (really you should not expect otherwise since it is anatomy), however Shay is a great teacher and willing to help with anything that is unclear in and out of class.

Overall great guy. He's a Christian, and you can tell just by how he holds himself up. Very professional, sarcastic, and can take punches just was well as deal them. Whoever said he misspells a lot is a freakin' ****. You try spelling every single word correctly with only one eye and tell me how that works out for you! =P

Tim is very knowledgeable and helpful. I have class online and was a little nervous that it was going to be really hard. However, he goes out of his way to post presentations where he explains everything. Anatomy is hard, but Tim is fair..if you study his notes and presentations like he tells you too, you will do fine.

This class is very interesting, and Tim Shay does a very good job of keeping the class stimulating. His tests are very fair, and he goes over "take home messages" relentlessly. He is one of the best teachers I have ever had in terms of clarity. My only complaint is his notes and their lack of organization and wordiness.

Tim Shay is an excellent professor of Anatomy&Physiology. He is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the topic. Unlike most professors who give comparatively general exams, he tests at exactly the level of detail he lectures to. The material is challenging, but Shay is a fair and caring instructor who is willing to help.

Pasionate about the material. Fair. Please understand that you must study. This is a weed-out class- and Shay will "weed" out the weak. The tests are hard and detailed. I believe he has a point, if one is going into health care, they must be serious and detail oriented. Only one word of advice for Mr.Shay- a bit more clarity on the test wording.

Tim Shay does a great job keeping the material and the class interesting. The tests are very detailed and you MUST study. He gives you notes and his on-line presentations are a great learning tool. I will be making an A, but I really had to study many hours. If you put in the effort you can pass this class. He is the best teacher for A&P.

Class is not easy! but Shay gives you all the tools you need to do well, provided you actually study. Took it online he provides actual lectures to watch as opposed to just assigning reading. Give detailed handouts and provides practice tests to take online before the exams. Would recommend; but it is a time consuming course.

This class is easy if you study and attend the lectures, provided you are not taking the online course. Overall, Shay provides all the things you need to suceed (ie. lecture notes online, lectures online if you miss a class, etc...). If you don't study you won't pass. PERIOD. He is helpful and I got alot out of it personally.

I took BSC 2084 as an online class with Professor Shay, and could not have asked for a better teacher. He types all the notes out for you and everything is very clear on what we need to know. For an online class and for it to be anatomy it was pretty easy and very easy to learn.

Professor Shay was a pretty laid back teacher. I loved going to class becuase he explains things very clearly. He also has online lectures that you can go back & listen to at home as well. He gives you all the tools to pass. It's just up to you to study them.

Very eager to get the information in your head. Will review over and over until it's done. Bent over backwards for test reviewing. Great teacher.

Tim is hands down the best professor I've ever had! He has created the most helpful online lectures and lab presentations. Mr. Shay is a GREAT teacher and really makes the course interesting to learn. The only thing I can critisize about is some of his questions from tests are in the book and not in his notes. But most of what you need is in the notes.

The word "Helpful" doesn't do any justice to how much Prof. Shay does for his students. Very fair with his students and grades. I took A&P 1 online over summer with him and it's not an easy class. Pay attention to the lectures. Huge emphasis placed on on-campus tests and lab pracicals so study well.

Compared to other A&P professors Shay is amazing. I took his class online and learned A LOT. He has extremely high standards and has hard tests/assignments, but if you do them you learn a lot and will walk away at the end of the semester with a GREAT understanding of how the body works. His test questions are 100% clear and test you perfectly.

Hands down the greatest teacher i've had since starting at Santa Fe. He teachers directly from his notes I only used my book for pictures of lab material. His test questions come directly from his notes there are no surprises. If you attend class and study the material you should not have any problem with this course, I wish he taught every course!

A&P I is a hard class, but Prof Shay online is a pretty good teacher. He gives you plenty of materials to use. Textbook is only used to supplement. The quizzes are not timed (which is awesome) and gives you two chances to take the lab quizzes with no timer. The class material is hard, but Prof. Shay made the online class easier then I thought.

A&P 2085 with Mr. Shay is great. I took his class online. He gives you all the material you need to prepare you for his exams and lab exams. His is great. Great class to take online. I recommend anyone to take him...

If you want to feel like you are in med school take this guy. Yes he is nice and will help you. If you take him I hope for you this isn't your first A+P class and it is the only class you are taking this semester. Online has rediculous amounts of informaion to learn. Frustrating and overwhelming and I am a straight A student.

Let me start off by saying, this class is pretty difficult with a LOT of content. However, Shay gives you all of the tools you need to succeed. Quizzes are not timed and textbook is only needed for supplemental reasons. I would recommend this class ONLY if you plan on putting a lot of time and work into it.

If you plan on pursuing something in nursing/medicine then Shay will prepare you! This is a very hard class, so try to take it only with other easy ones in the semester. Awesome online lectures, quizzes are not timed but can get very specific. He puts notes with definitions online too, which are a huge help!

This is a hard class, but Professor Shay gives you everything you need to succeed. You need to be prepared to work for your grade! A&P is a difficult class with a lot of information, but if you need to take it online, take it with Shay! I do wish the lab portion had more, but you can always go to the open labs to study the models hands-on.

He is a great teacher! This is a very hard class with a lot of information to cover. you will need to study every day to pass this class. He gives you all the information you need to pass, however, it is a little difficult to know what to focus on for the tests. He is always willing to help you understand the material and has helpful ways to study.

GREAT Teacher! He enjoys coming to class which makes it non-boring. There is a lot of info to cover whoever you take A&P with; difference is he actually teaches the material so you understand HOW things work. Like I said involves a lot of material, but everything is provided on angel when you start. Go to class and study your handouts you?ll pass!

Tim knows his stuff and will take the time to explain it over and over to you if needed. He gives you everything you need to complete this class but you have to study for this class. If you miss a class they are online, practice quizes, notes and pictures. Very well structured class!

I took Prof. Shay's online course and it couldn't have been better. A&P 1 will always be a tough course, but he tells you exactly how to succeed, gives you everything you need, and leaves the rest up to you. Very possible to do very well if you put in ample time.

Professor Shay is an excellent instructor to take for an online course. Anatomy is a very hard course and you have to be willing to put in the time studying for a decent grade. Your grade consists of 3 Lecture Tests, 3 Lab Tests, and about 10-12 online quizzes for both the lecture and lab sections.

Anatomy is a ahrd class to take, greatly if you decide to take it online. Professor Shay gave clear notes and study material for use in the class as well as diagrams for the labs. The test are on Saturday mornings however so dedication is needed.This is class for working students that do not have time to go to a lab and lecture weekly.

Really good teacher. I didn't use the textbook in this class, i didnt take it online but i probably would recommend taking it online if you live far because the online people and in class people get the same info. Its all memorization of definitions.

I took this class online, so it can require more work on the students part. He posted lectures to listen to which was helpful. He also provided lecture notes which helped focus what to study rather then everything in the chapters. I recommend taking him.

This is definitely not an easy A. You have to actually put time into this class and you cannot procrastinate. He's a nice man with good intentions. His lecture notes, and presentations are very clear and helpful. I recommend getting the book because it fills those gaps that you might not understand.

Material is difficult, tests are very detail oriented. You can study for a week straight and get to the test and still not now some of the answers. Prof Shay is very helpful and prepares you for the final by giving lecture exams that are similar to the final. Be ready to study a lot if you are taking this course online like I did.

Taking this class online is very doable if your already adapt to keeping up with online classes. He provides plenty of information in his online presentations (which are great) and lecture notes. Online Labs leave a lot to be desired but if you study the old lab quiz material you'll do ok on the test.

He always makes sure you have all your questions answered before moving onto the next subject.The book is nice to have but I studied my notes and watched his labs online and passed.Its not mandatory to show to every class. This is not an easy class no matter what and if you want an A you need to work for it. I took it online and feel that Mr. Shay responded quickly to my emails and provided us with clear and plentiful information to succeed. Online class, so not much teaching. The info is there and there is a lot of it. If you memorize things well and put in the time an A or B is expected.

I never realized what a good teacher was until I took Tim Shay. He clearly loves his job (he goes way above and so far beyond to make sure you are comfortable with the material). Lecture notes vital, book unnecessary. I wish he could teach all of my classes!

I took Tim Shay for Anatomy and Physiology. He really goes out of his way to make sure we have everything we need to study. He recognizes all the different ways people learn. He truly wants you to do well! I highly recommend him. Hard but fair!

This class covers a LOT of material. If you take this class at SFC change your schedule if you have to in order to take it with Shay. This is a HARD class, but he is FULLY qualified to teach the material. His lectures are lively, interesting and will help you digest and retain this vast amount of data. His online tools are 2nd to none! Loved him!

Been out of School for a while so getting back in the groove was a little tough.Having a class with a structure like this really helped me a lot. The audio lectures are awesome,the lecture notes are on point,Mr.Shay also does a great job with his lab videos that shows exactly whats going to be on the lab test.

While in his class and listening to him each pay close attention, if you don't understand just ask, he will take time to make sure you do. His lecture notes and videos are very helpful.

In his lectures A LOT of material is covered and it can seem overwhelming at first. He is more than qualified to teach the class. He does not teach directly from the text and teaches with visual aids majority of the time which keeps the class interesting. This is a difficult class but he is more than willing to help if someone doesn't understand.

Class is difficult but he posts tons of different study guides. Including flashcards, practice tests and audio lectures. If you study you will do fine. He is very fair.

Made a hard class very fun and intriguing. Very straight forward.He lets you know exactly what needs to be learned. One of my favorite teachers. Made me want to actually learn.

Mr. Shay is an awesome individual. Completely helpful. Many times, I witnessed him humoring senseless Inquiries. I barely studied at all. I went to lectures and labs, thumbed through the book prior to tests, and occasional took advantage of his audio lectures. An A is easily possible. I haven't found anything hard about his course. Fair for sure.

Great teacher but you have to do your work and study. He is very helpful and wants you to do well. I would definitely recommend him and would take him again.

Dr. Shay is awesome! I his class online which was difficult but he provides you with a lot of information and tools to help you learn the material. You definitly have to be on top of your game. His lab exams are difficult but lecture exams arent too bad.

Mr. Shay is a great instructor, A&P is not an easy subject to learn and you're learning so much stuff in a short period of time. But Mr. Shay is a very helpful instructor. He encourages to ask questions, quizzes and exams fallow lectures and labs. I would highly recommended him if you have to take A&P.

I took his online A&P course and as long as you watched all the lectures, reviewed the notes, and do well on the quizzes the exams should be no problem. Everything he goes over is on the exams. I put the time and effort in, but he made this course doable for me.

Very tough class, espically while taking it online. Professor Shay was very helpful and had practice exams for each exam. His presentations were very helpful for the exams and he posted review questions as well as flashcards for studying! He is an amzaing professor to take for this class =)

Very tough course! A lot of memorization and vocabulary, especially since I took it online. Professor Shay is amazing at helping his students prepare for an exam. He posts grades up immediately which is great and also posts review question, flashcards, and a practice exam for each exam. He's great.

Very good professor. Took him online and everything was setup easily and was able to follow all of the topics easy enough. The material isn't so bad if you pay attention and actually attempt to understand, he does his best to help you, if you can't get it, that's on you. If you need a good professor, I recommend Mr. Shay.

Online materials were excellent. The class itself is very difficult. He is very tough and his test questions require A LOT of application.

Took his class online this fall. If you really apply yourself to this class then you will do well. It's a lot of material and I felt that taking it online was helpful because I could listen to the presentations as many times as I wanted.

I took this class online thinking it would be easier and more convineient. Mr.Shay was very thorough and detaied. All and all this course was not easy and I should have dedicated more time to it than I did but he did a great job providing the required materials.

Online class, everything you need for test is online and presentations are really helpful. No need for book. But the material itself is bit hard. So after the first test is very you need to spend more time.

Dr. Shay recommended reading the textbook. Definitely need to do this! Presentations he created are excellent online. Crystal clear would describe his explanations of the systems of the body! Very interactive in class and sorry to hear he's doing online only now.

The lectures on the online class are made easy to understand for an anatomy class. He also provide study guides and exam practice test question before every exam. whatever he mentions on the lecture that's what usually on the exam

Dr. Shay was a good professor. If you study the material and complete assignments you will do fine. If you don't study and complete assignments you'll not succeed. Simple as that.

EXCELLENT instructor. Very clear. Don't buy the textbook. Pay careful attention to the lectures. Memorize the notes. Thoroughly review the quizzes and practice tests. I practically failed out?of prior A&P courses but scored very high As on all of the exams in this course. I feel like I finally understand this material now.

Mr. Shay is a great professor. Study the Lab Quiz's and study the practice exams and you will do fine in his class.

Mr. Shay is an excellent professor. Take him! His notes and lectures covered the material in detail, and he was always available and willing to help. I would recommend renting the textbook. I barely read it, but I occasionally had to use it for more detailed images and for further explanation of certain concepts.

Good class. The material was a bit tough but the notes he provides gives you all you need for the tests. Very flexible testing schedule, that was good as I work full time and have two small children. Overall great Professor and class.

I took this class online during the summer and found it very face paced. All of the questions on the tests are from the notes. You have to take plenty of time to study everything though.

Has a lot of visual aides, notes and presentations. If you study his notes, you will pass with a B or and A. You must study!

This class is basically just memorization so if you give yourself enough time to go through the material (there is a lot), then you'll get an A. I found the book helpful because it explained some concepts better. Google image search was my best friend for the lab portion.

I wish I had Shay for all my other courses! Very fair professor that gives A LOT of helpful information if you take online. I would definitely take him for any class.

Mr. Shay is Excellent. I took the class online and found the material is covered very well, and there is a lot of it!! Rarely used the book, but did find it helpful. Give yourself plenty of time to memorize the notes and review the Lecture and Lab quizzes for each section Exams and you will make a good grade.

This course is not an easy A. You must study. The best thing is he has all his lectures prerecorded and has prerecorded review questions. So a book is not necessary. His grading his fair. Although, his test are sometimes different from the study material. Overall- I plan on taking him for BSC2085

all his lectures are online. must study study and when you think you've studied enough, study more. teacher is great there is just a lot of material to cover. he gives you plenty of study material. book wasn't really needed.

All of his material was online and available so you could work ahead. Recorded lectures and notes he provided were awesome and directly correlated to lecture tests, plus he gives you flashcards. I would take 2086 with him but he doesn't teach it.

Awesome professor! The lectures are super helpful and easy to understand. Mr. Shay responds quickly to emails. His notes are to the point and clear. Make sure to put effort in and review his notes/lectures and you should do well.

Taking this course online with Tim Shay was a great decision. Just be sure to study the lecture notes and lab pics and you will do fine. Cramming is not an option in this course because there is a LOT of material to learn and memorize before each exam. Overall, this is a fairly easy course if you study and put in the work.

Good teacher and good guy. A&P is obviously difficult, if you want to be successful be prepared to study hard but Mr. Shay does a good job of explaining things on the lecture presentations and he also provides study materials (verbal and notecards) so you can better prepare for the test.

Prof. tells you exactly what you need to study and what material is going to be on the exams. As long as you study the material, you will pass the course.

If you apply yourself, and study everything he has placed at your disposal you should get a A or high b. I barely applied my self and Got a high C. Lector exams cost the most points so generally if you do good on them you passed the class. again he makes it clear cut what you need to do to pass. take him. Great for an internet class

Took this class online and was nervous. Instructor was very clear and straight forward with online lecture and lab quizzes as well as study guides to help prepare for lab and lecture exams. Tim Shay helps break down the concepts so that they are easy to understand. He also is fair with the tests. If you study the notes and lectures he provides, you barely need the book and will do well. Just know the information.

Great lecture notes provided. If you read them thoroughly and use them as a guide to study you will pass the tests. Lab assignments are sometimes a bit tough but never impossible.

This is no "easy A" but Prof Shay wants all his student to receive A's. He gives all the material needed to actually LEARN and not stress about. He helps out by giving descriptive lecture notes which his exams are based off of. His exams will be extremely easy if you take the time to read and want to learn. Dr Shay is amazing! EVERYTHING needed to succeed is available, honestly great presentations & notes.. All you need to do it put forth effort and you will get a good grade. The materials to succeed are available, you know what you need to study! Best professor for anatphys 1! I really do wish he taught anatphys 2 (sadface).

This is an easy course, but you MUST take the time to study and prepare. The style of this class is easy to understand, PPTS for lectures and labs with quizzes that follow. There are tests about every two weeks taken @ SFC. READ THE TEXT and PPTS! He is super nice and forward. Tests are all multiple choice, but you still have to know the material.

One of the better online classes I've taken at Santa Fe. Be sure to study the lecture notes for the tests

This course is a lot of studying. Also if you have any questions he responds in a timely manner to any kind of email or phone call. Definitely recommend taking this course.

Mr. Shay is a great professor. He gives you all the material needed to pass this class with an A, but you have to be willing to study. There are no suprises in this class, if you read the material, do the labs, and study you will pass with an A.

I thought this would be more of an overview class of A&P but it was more in depth. The lecture notes and lab notes are a must with the book. However, what is on the lectures and quizzes is not what is on the exams.

I took this class online and found it to be organized and clear. I was mostly blown away by how fair the exams were. I studied hard, walked in, and did well - never felt that way as a student at UF. Dr. Shay was more than happy to help when I needed it and provides some extra credit at the end.

For the people who say he is a bad professor probably just didn't try. The answers on the lecture exams can be found verbatim in the entire packet of lecture notes he posts online. He doesn't give extra credit because there are a lot of quizzes online that are so simple. And he is helpful, I have had no problems getting in contact with him.

Very outlined course. Materials were clear and consice. Not alot of extra jargin to confuse. Doesn't teach TO the test material, but DOES teach the distractors. So, if you know those and the OPPOSITES of those, you will do well. Not overbearing and really steps in during times of personal vs academic needs. I wish I could take him for 2086...

He was very helpful - powerpoints and lectures were very thorough - put in the time and you will see a positive result in your grade.

I enjoyed this class. His notes were easy to follow and his quizzes and lab followed his notes and lectures very closely. He was very easy to contact and helped whenever I approached him. Some questions on the Exams were at times a little left field based off of the study guide but if you take the time to listen to the presentations you'll do fine.

Recorded lectures were a little boring, but most quiz and exam questions are directly from his notes (aka your study guide). Some exam questions were poorly worded and a bit confusing. The class requires studying - sometimes that means you'll need to search youtube for videos from other instructors. But an A is attainable.

I took this class online and highly recommend Professor Shay for the online BSC2084, all of his exams came directly from his quizzes and lectures. I felt well prepared for the department final.

Yes, there is a lot of material covered in this class. However, the amount of time required to prepare for quizzes /exams is fair. Everything you need to be successful in the class is provided by the instructor and covered in the textbook. My only criticism is that in the quizzes and exams you can't go back to review a question after answering it.
