This professor is truly a rare individual in that he is both EXTREMELY brilliant but also able to teach the material in a way that is widely relatable. He genuinely cares about his students and goes above and beyond to make sure that he teaches in a way that is engaging, inspiring, and memorable. Take this professor if you can!!!
Super passionate about his class and chemistry. He will explain everything you need to know step by step. I definitely recommend him. If you're trying to actually learn and not just pass by, take him. His test is basically questions from your homework, so make sure you stay on top of your work. A lot of homework but definitely a great professor.
I was scared to take this class at first, but he teaches in a way that is so easy to understand. There is a lot of homework, but if you do the homework, you will do well on the test. Show all your work!!!! Professor is very available outside of class and will work with you to make sure you understand material. TAKE HIS CLASS
Best teacher I have ever taken I scored the highest in chem on my hesi exam he loves chemistry so much he can make you love it. He actually teaches and takes the time to explain everything to you. He makes things very clear and understandable. If your going to take chem I recommend him 100%
He doesnt monitor your attendance but there are quizzes at the very beginning of every class so Id be there on time. Hes available for tutoring M-Thurs and his passion for chem makes it much more fun. Best teacher Ive ever had.
Hands down the best professor ever! Take him!!!Prof. Siniscalchi is a handsome, intelligent man that is always there to help you and makes complex topics more doable than other profs. Chemistry is a hard class, yes, but an A is attainable!! :) just make sure you go to all classes and take notes & study. I highly recommend him!
Lots of homework, but he does every problem with you in class. Also has TONS of online videos that go through each problem specifically. He gives you reviews for every single exam. It's not mandatory to sit through all his lectures but if you stay, he tells you exactly what questions will be on upcoming quiz. Final is optional to replace 1 exam
I don't think I could have picked a better Chemistry professor. He explains everything in a much simpler way so it is easy to understand. He does give a lot of homework but he pulls the questions from the quizzes directly from the homework. As long as you study and show up you will get a good grade in the class. HE IS GREAT!
I don't understand how a non-chemist is teaching this class. He has no basic understanding of these topics and worst of all is his lack of feedback via email or office hours. You can take this professor, but you won't know anything for the next class unless you work at home or with friends. You are also only graded on test. No extra credit.
i was afraid to take chemistry since I had withdrew before. he was actually a really good Proffesor. I passed with a B but sometimes he was rude. he barely let us out early. no extra credit ( barely ) and Lots of homework but he has videos which make is easy. I would recommend to take him. Just get on his good side. Otherwise he can be rude.
He can't simplify the material. You'll be lucky if you get a C if you work really hard. He's not a good teacher for this class. Expect to spend lots of time at the tutoring center. He won't give extra credit.
Would take him again! Tim is the BEST at what he does! He will cover everything u need to know with enthusiasm. YOU MUST PUT IN SOME EFFORT (welcome to college)! Overall Best professor I ever had. A required 1on1 meeting 3 times a semester to make sure how he can help. Responds to emails fast. Super friendly. Always remember YOU GET TO DO IT!
He really helps. Nice and everything, really clear. Made sooooooo many videos, has an outline for the topic for every question on the exam and videos on how to do them all. Lots of videos and real life applications in the lecture. Makes sure you understand everything, would definitely take again
You can see how he teaches on YouTube, search Timothy Siniscalchi Principles of Chemistry, its the first playlist that comes up. Theres more on Blackboard when youre in the class, he made over a hundred videos for our class to help students outside of class, including videos that go over everything that will be on the test.
I probably won't be going to nursing school because of this class. I wish that I had taken another professor with better teaching skills
The questions on the tests are worded exactly the same as the questions in the homework, he just changes the numbers. Five tests, each 25 questions, gives partial credit if you show your work, had an optional final that can replace a test grade. Knew everyones name the first day of class, really loves chemistry
This guy was SO HELPFUL! He answered emails even when I sent them late the night before the test on a weekend. He made sure we knew about all the stuff the college offers like the career center, the tutoring center, free Microsoft Office, etc.. He also graded things SO FREAKIN FAST; literally had all our classes tests back in two days. AWESOME!
I loved his class! Especially the hands on things like when he introduced the metric system he brought in a liter box and a gram and kilogram weight or when we went over molecular shapes he showed how theyre formed using balloons. He was also so eager and available to help. Would totally take him again, I wish he taught my other classes
I really appreciated how organized and clear he was. Hell tell you exactly what you need to be able to do and hell show you exactly how to do it, you just have to practice and youll do great. So caring and helpful, responds to emails fast, grades stuff fast, really fair, take him
Professor S was incredible. I dont know how many hours of videos he made to help us, he always encouraged us to see him for help outside of class, he knew so many cool facts about what we discussed and he actually knew how to teach. Just make sure you do all the homework, preferably more than once; if you can do that youre good for the tests
SUCH A GOOD PROFFESSOR! He made me love chemistry. Definitely have to study a lot but hes so clear and helpful. Recommend him 100%
Great! Straight-forward you just have to study what he tells you and cant miss class. DO THE HOMEWORK, the test is almost the same. Cool stories sometimes. Goes above and beyond
Prof. S is the best! He was able to explain everything SO CLEARLY. Chemistry never made sense to me before this class, he really breaks everything down and makes it understandable. His class is also so organized, you know exactly what to study for, you just have to spend the time studying. Not an easy A, but you learn so much it's worth it
Best chemistry professor on earth! Organic chem is not easy, but he prepared 250 vids to help you understand conceptually and made vids for all HW problems. He is an AMAZING professor! Take him. He is your best option. But get ready to earn your grade. I highly recommend him. and would def take him for orgo 2. BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Took him for Orgo 1 & 2. Really hard class. However, he made it easy by explaining everything and breaking it down to the atom, Literally! Most amazing professor I have ever had!! Must take him. His test are written and there is a quiz each week with potential to get 2 points of extra credit from HW. So about 11 quizze is all your getting graded on
At first seems like a great professor. Animated and definitely knows the information. As the semester went on, rules and expectations became unclear and kept changing. Assignments were not explained fully. We went fully online for COVID and class completely changed, no help was offered through email- basically turned into a self taught class.
Professor Tim is the best chem professor ever. Do All his HW (there are videos he made for each question, no joke) and you will do great on all the test. Tests are Literally the same thing as HW. He teaches very well and is very knowledgeable. I truly recommend him. I took him for both orgo classes and got As plus learned a lot.
He is awesome! He really enjoys teaching and is always happy to help. His videos are extremely helpful. You still need to study as organic chemistry is hard, so make sure u understand the concept of each topic, if you follow his advice will be fine.
He posts all lectures in videos which are helpful in themselves, if you do go to class online all he will do is repeat himself and won't answer your questions. There are a few extra credits but it isn't much. No homework at all and you only get grades on the 5 tests there are in this class.
Yeah he has videos to help, but when there's literally 50-60 videos to watch for a 10 question exam, it becomes ridiculous. You go into the exams feeling confident only to fail after submitting. His exams doesn't allow you to go back and check answers so if you chose a wrong answer previously, you're stuck with it. This class is a SETUP FOR FAILURE
Tim is gifted! I started CHM2210 not knowing anything about the subject, and in 2 semesters with him, following the videos and attending lectures, I can now understand complex syntheses, in a research environment (I knew way more than others). If you truly want to learn Chemistry for your career, in his class you will. Your efforts will pay off :)
Siniscalchi is a great lecturer, but he is NOT understanding of students and how much work we put into his class. He does not care how his students are doing gradwise. Exams are multiple choice with ridiculous answer choices, mistakes, and specific details/tricks that are irrational. Sure you MIGHT learn orgo well, but your grade suffers from exams
i started off liking this professor as this is my second attempt at taking orgo 1. it went downhill fast as the class schedule starts to get disorganized (he made our CUMULATIVE final a day after our last chapter test) and he expects you to watch 5+ hours worth of videos for a 10 question exam every week. exams are a mess. not understanding at all
Youre better off taking someone else. He has video lectures to help you but makes his exams so tricky and unfair. His answer choices are so similar to one another, it just automatically sets you up for failure. I wish I took another professor because now I have to waste time and money taking this course over again. Killing my chances at med school
This man really doesnt care about his students doing well. The exams are IMPOSSIBLE and its sad because we do so much studying and reviewing with 30+ page videos ONLY to go fail. Im exhausted and is very proud of myself because as a student, I did what I was supposed to do. As a professor, he only cared about making his class rigorous for MCAT
Had to leave the class. I took 14 credit hours this semester. Trying to study for this mans class was torture on top of my other courses. I started off doing well but when my grades started dropping, I had to drop this class because it wasnt worth it. Some of my classmates stayed and struggled, Im glad I didnt.
Videos are WAYYY too long! Studied 30+ hours a week just for this class alone, this class was so stressful because he only bases grades on 10 question tests, so if you get 2 wrong you're already at an 80%. There are trick answers on tests too and you cant go back to previous q's. All this work and in the end he wont raise your grade one point.
My perfect 4.0 went down to a 2.75 because of my failing grades in this class. Truly the most terrible and un-compassionate professor I've ever had. Truly didn't care about student struggles at all.
The video lectures are amazing and truly helps you understand the material. That's the only positive of this class. Exams have answer choices so similar to each other it's unfair to students. Mechanism questions differ by ONE arrow pointing in different directions. Answer choices are 'none of these correct, all of these are correct'. A headache!!!!
I've never had a professor grind my gears as much as this teacher has. The exams started out being okay, then in the middle of the semester, everything got unnecessarily harder. There are lecture videos that teach the material - very helpful. But the exams were really something else. Studying 30-40 hours a week only to do mediocre is frustrating
So many materials and so organized. Organic is um hard duh but this guy explains things so well and works like crazy to help
Really prepared me for the HESI. Clear test outlines, videos to help with all the homework. I thought he went above and beyond
I took Prof Siniscalchi for Orgo 1 and 2 and learned a ton. You definitely have to work for it, but he is so nice and makes so many materials to help. The only people in my classes who complained were the ones who didnt study.
I was soooooo afraid to take this class but I LOVED it. It made me know I want to be a pharmaceutical chemist. I dont know how I would have EVER passed this class without all of the handouts and videos prof s made for us. Amazing.
I put off taking chemistry until my last semester. I wasnt good at it, dreaded it. I did have to work really hard, but I knew that going in; what I didn't know was how fascinating chem could be and how clearly professor sinscalachi was going to explain it. He was so organized and helpful. Not an easy A but you can tell he cares about his students.
Orgo 2 was one of the hardest classes Ive ever taken. With Prof. Siniscalchi, it was also one of the most rewarding. Use the materials he made (I couldnt believe how much stuff he provided) and definitely dont wait till the last minute or end of the semester to study. Short, frequent tests, challenging but really organized and fair
have to remember your orgo 1. after taking organic three times at different institutions, i was amazed by this professor. if you actually want to learn orgo, you won't get as much help anywhere else as you will from the materials professor siniscalchi gives you.
So much work but super organized and lots of free materials. Didn't just read off of a powerpoint like other profs I've taken for this class. Helpful dude but def have to work, hard class
I didn't like chem in high school, so I was NOT excited to take it before applying to nursing schools. BUT: I LOVED IT! Professor Timothy was the best! OR-GAN-IZED more than any teacher I've ever had
So, I actually hated this class when I took it. I kept thinking, 'why does this have to be so hard? Seriously.' It wasn't until I graduated and started taking upper-level classes at NOVA that I realized what a gem Professor Siniscalchi was and how much he cared about our success in the future. He really prepared me, and I will always be thankful.
make sure you check your email, and actually use the stuff he gives you. if you're in college to learn and you know the work that's ahead of you in orgo, he's amazing. some students in my class thought our class would be just checking boxes like high school and were in for a rude surprise
SO GOOD
wish id taken for orgo 1 would have learned so much more, gives you reaction lists study plans hw sets test outlines videos helpful helpful helpful heeeeeeeeelpfuuuuuuuul in a hard class
took him for principles of chem for pre-nursing. cool dude, 5 tests 25 questions each, homework sets n solutions, videos for everything. told cool facts sometimes. if you have the time to study, should be good
The class got harder as the semester went on, but he gives you what you need. If you are willing to study and like challenging teachers who give you what you need and are organized, he's def worth taking
Loved Professor S!! Was straight up terrified of chemistry and he made me love it. Not an easy A, but the absolute BEST
really not bad if you use the materials he gives you. straight forward. pay attn to details. it's a lot but it's orgo. he helped me a lot in office hours a couple times, but honestly the videos he made answer almost everything except for questions about how to study etc
I took Professor Siniscalchi for Organic 2. My Professor for Organic 1 was easy and at the time I loved it, but then in Organic 2 I really regretted it because I understood almost nothing. Professor Siniscalchi saved me. Hardest I ever had to work in my life, but his videos and materials allowed me to pass and even get a B.
soooooooooo organized. broke every test down, had a video for everything, broke every example down to the step. it's still chem but awesome teacher
Organic Chemistry 2 was the hardest class I took at PBSC. I just wanted to post a review on here because I wouldn't have been able to pass without the enormous amount of help and videos provided by Prof. S. Thanks so much, Professor.
I failed chem in high school and I did NOT want to take it ever again. I'm so glad I took professor sinscalachi. he was soooooo ooooorganized and had so many videos to help. also really nice, can tell he loves his job
AMAZING
wish i'd taken him for orgo 1, the guy i had did not prepare me at all. orgo's hard but i actually wanted to learn it for my major and med school. if you actually want to learn it, prof siniscalchi is the best possible professor. so much help, so clear and so organized. just gotta do the (huge amount of) work
Really organized, made lots of stuff to help students (videos for every hw exercise, test outlines, study plans, etc). Fast paced and a lot of work, maybe cause its him or maybe cause its orgo. learned a lot
I was scared to take orgo and I had to spend a lot of time studying, but what I had to study was always really clear with Prof Siniscalchi and I ended up enjoying it. His explanations were so helpful and I never felt lost, it was just a lot of work. I would recommend him if you want to learn, but not if you want an easy A without having to do much
really straight forward class. do what he says and your good. the only people in my class who did bad were the ones who didnt study. cant believe how many videos he made for the class (literally every homework prob)
Strict with class rules, attendance, due dates, etc. Provides an iiiiinsaaaaaaane amount of help (videos that go through literally every hw prob, test outlines that tell you the topic of each question and which hw questions it'll be based on, calendar for the whole semester, day-by-day study plans, etc.). most organized prof I've ever taken
really good prof, would take him again
I struggled with organic chemistry more than any other subject in undergrad. I took Orgo at two other institutions before I found Prof. S. I wish I had found him sooner. I finally understood organic. It still took hours and hours but it was actually understandable and he ended up preparing me so much for the courses I took after. Awesome Prof
really amazing prof, you just can't relax the whole semester, orgo does not stop for anybody. def unlike every other class I took at pbsc, but the prof was really incredible, made and did so much to help (but didn't give out easy a's)
I can't believe how good this professor was. I was so scared to take chemistry and he broke it down so clearly and made it really manageable. My cousin who took chemistry out of state saw all the videos and help he made and was so jealous. Tests are real but fair. I'm so glad I took him.
O Chem is tough tough tough! But this man made a craaaaaazy amount of stuff to help us students. Totally organized (never had another prof this freakin organized). Good lectures! But man oh man orgo is a lot of work, don't expect a walk in the park with o chem
This class is honestly ridiculous. His exams are extremely ridiculous. It's crazy to study so much for a class and have to take such difficult exams that don't even reflect what you learn. He does this on purpose so he can "prepare you for the MCAT" but he needs to realize that's not his job. Students need to pass fairly.
I was so impressed by Professor S! He is very engaging and explains topics really clearly. He is really organized. His tests are fair and straight forward, I always knew what to study for, and the tests were always based on the homework (he has test outlines that let you know how). Has videos for everything! Great class, would highly recommend
I was so afraid to take chemistry but I took professor s and he made it so clear! he also made so many videos to help! really really organized, I wish all my professors were like this! totally recommend him, great professor!
SO GOOD!!!!!!! Made so many videos you don't have to buy a mad expensive book and the explanations are all clear!!! So glad I took him!!!! specially for such a scary class as chem
I practically went bald from the stress of how intense organic is. so it says a lot that I'm leaving this guy a good review. I recommend him if you really want to learn, but if you are looking to get through orgo without working your butt off, find someone else. fact: I feel like I understand orgo so well after this class.
My friends took Orgo 1 at FAU, which I heard was impossible, so I took it at PBSC. Honestly, I didn't think I was going to learn much, but by the end of the semester I was amazed by Prof. Siniscalchi. My FAU friends were so jealous of the videos he made. Hard and a lot of work, but it's actually possible to learn Orgo with him. So glad I took him.
good class good teach but hard to find time. it my first time in college and difficult class but hard but really good teacher
I really liked how he got us to think about concepts and understand the why of stuff rather than just memorize everything (though we def had to memorize a lot). Chem is hard for me, but the amount of effort he put in to help was very clear. would have been better if I didn't take so many classes with it, otherwise hard but awesome
made me love chem
I got a C which bummed me out, but honestly I wouldnt have passed at all without the videos and other stuff he made. I dont know how anyone has enough time to do well in orgo, but if you do, this is the best dude you could take
Amazing class! Five tests, 25 questions each, breaks down everything you need to know and has videos for it all. It takes a lot of time, so dont take if youre looking for an easy A, but if you want to learn chem I highly recommend
haaaarrrrrrrrrd. so haaaaaaarrrrrrd. still, I learned a lot. enthusiastic guy, lots of stuff to help. also really organized
I LOVED THIS CLASS! BEST, SO MANY INTERESTING REAL LIFE APPLICATIONS, DIDN'T KNOW CHEM COULD BE SO INTERESTING
class got a lot harder toward the end of the semester, but he warned us and made a lot of stuff to help. overall class was nicely done
Loved this class! I learned SO MUCH. Never thought I would have liked chemistry, take him you won't regret it. (Though of course you have to be ready to work in orgo, so make sure you have the time and use the stuff he made).
I took orgo 1 years ago, so I was really nervous to take orgo 2. it was tough but I he is really organized and makes it easy to review anything you don't know. also has videos for like everything. all in all, I'd say he's the best for orgo
I enjoyed this class because how all materials were presented and broken down. Honestly, if I knew about this professor when taken chemistry 1 and 2 I would of definitely sign up. One of the best professors I came across in my academic career.
He is very knowledgeable and able to teach the material in a way that is condusive for a novel Organic Chemistry Student. The lesson videos made by the professor were very organized and well summarized. Very easy to understand! The homework packets were also very helpful! You can clearly see the effort and dedication he put in each video explaining
I have only positive things to say about this course. His day by day study guide was helpful in keeping me on top of the material. Studying an hour or so a day is not really something someone wants to do, but it really forces you to learn the material inside and out. He did a great job
Professor Siniscalchi is one of the best professors I have ever had in my college career. He made a very difficult subject interesting, engaging, and fun. His online videos, clearly organized homework assignments, and virtual class sessions made the information easy to absorb. You have to put in work to excel, but all the tools are provided
The videos created for this class were by far the most effective thing that has ever helped me learn. This matched my learning style perfectly, and allowed me to go back to the videos again and again if i ever forgot or didn't understand something. There were nearly no videos that left me confused, which seemed impossible for organic chemistry.
I was so happy with how well organized and simple this course was set up. Everything you needed was right in front of you. Tests matched the homework. Loved this class even though it gave me a super hard time. Best teacher ever!
Professor Siniscalchi is by far the worst professor I have had in undergrad. He expects us to watch over 200 videos (great if you have the time), but impossible for the average student. Along with videos there are 40+ pages of homework assignments for each chapter. Tests are absolutely brutal and nothing like the homework.
Professor does not care about his students, his exams are made to make us fail. He does not lecture at all, only thing he does is upload videos from past semesters and expects us to learn by watching them and teaching ourselves. Studying 20+ hours a week just to fail an exam, ridiculous.
Orgo 2 was really tough for me. But Professor Siniscalchi was also one of the best professors Ive ever had. Hes really organized and cared enough to make a lot of materials to help, like his videos. Dont take him if you dont have time to study, but if you want to learn hes incredible.
Test every week, and expected to watch pre-recorded videos with absolutely no guidance whatsoever... tests are difficult. if you want to hate organic chemistry, go ahead and take him & good luck!!
I loved this class! I was so afraid of organic chemistry before I took Professor Siniscalchi. He broke everything down so that it was SO CLEAR!! He had so many real-world applications and gave such detailed, enthusiastic lectures. A lot of work, but such a gem!!
I have two kids and didnt know how a semester taking orgo 2 was going to go. Luckily, I took Prof. Siniscalchi. He doesnt just explain the material clearly, he gets you to think about the why of everything and see it in your life. Wish Id had him for my previous Chem classes even though it was a lot of work
prof helped me make so many connections and understand alot. cool dude, helped me find research opportunities in office hours etc.. the class is hella hard, but like its orgo so what do you expect? breaks down what you need to know for every test and has a video for everything, no joke. great lectures, too, really recommend
the Professor is a great lecturer, in a sea of boring, PowerPoint reading remote lecturers in my other classes. It was nice to have a Professor that actually cares about teaching and makes it interesting and fun.
Lots of homework and videos that help you learn. But the class itself is stressful. I wish I went with another professor. I just feel like I wasn't getting the help I needed as a student. I wish he would listen to students instead of worrying about breaking students down to build them. That's the job of parents, not yours sir! Good luck with him!
Do yourself a favor and take someone else. Long homework videos (not gonna lie, theyre helpful), extremely tricky exams, and lack of understanding from a professor is just not worth failing and bringing down your gpa.
1 point extra credit that doesnt do much for your grade. Long homework videos that takes up all your time. Tricky exams with none of the above, all the above are correct type questions. Just a whole semester of stress. Balancing 14 credits with this course was a mess. I wish I took another professor. My advice? RUN!
Tests got unnecessarily harder at the end of the semester. It wasn't the content that was difficult, it literally was the exams with the ridiculous answer choices. Mechanism answers differed by one arrow pointing in different directions. He had all the above/none of the above are correct choices. Just stressful for no reason. Take someone else
Im glad this semester is over. Unfortunately Ill be retaking the course with someone else. Its very difficult having to go through a whole class, about 70+ homework videos a week, studying 20+ hours a week, only to fail. This class honestly sets you up for failure. Its starts out being okay then gets harder because of his tricky exams. Annoyed!
Read the honest red reviews, not the green ones. Honestly, just take someone else, trust me. If you choose to take him, good luck. The stress and mental breakdowns is not worth it!
Pros: Took his time outside of class to make very helpful videos that go along with each question of his hw packet. Made connections to real life examples to help you understand the material better. / Cons: The videos/hw are reallyyy long and time consuming. Tests are kind of tricky and synthesis heavy. Always ran out of time during class.
Pros: Hmwk videos are helpful but wayyy to long; they're exhausting Cons: Tricky exams, none of the above/all the above type questions, professor is very difficult to deal with. Youre better off taking someone else. All the stress of dealing with this professor isnt worth it.
Very stressful semester. Long homework videos for only 10 question exams. Exams arent fair at all. Theyre tricky and you cant go back and check past questions. So if you select the wrong answer on the first try, thats it for you. All this creates test anxiety and sets students up for failure. Not worth it at all. Choose another professor.
I chose him based off the reviews but I wish I hadn't. I expected the course to be hard because its orgo. But dealing with the exams was annoying. Having answer choices like "all/none the above are correct, more than one answer is correct" was mentally defeating. I wish he spent time testing our knowledge on the subject than playing mind tricks smh
Long homework videos. Monotonous tone during class. Tricky exams. Dismissive during office hours. Doesn't want students to succeed, because if he did, he wouldn't make his exams as tricky as they are. Nothing comes from this class but stress and mental anguish. Take another professor, trust me! You can thank me later.
The class itself wasnt bad. The homework videos help you learn the material. However, the insane amount of time it takes to go through 40+ videos a week was too much. Balancing work and other classes with this 1 class was very stressful. I got through it okay, but it is challenging. You cant slack off or get behind at all
Homework is not like the exams. The exams are the most ridiculous tests Ive ever taken at pbsc. Theyre so tricky, youll be second guessing yourself throughout the whole test. To make matters worse, you cant even go back and check on past answers. Once you hit next, thats it; you have to move on to the next question. Save yourself the trouble!!
If I could give a 0 rating I would. All the red comments echo my sentiments of this class. Its just not worth wasting your time and having your mental health impacted. Being a student is hard. But dealing with tricky exams and a difficult professor is even worse. The answer choices are so similar to each other, its unfair. Just run, trust me!
Lots of homework. Quiz every week on honor lock browser. 1 point extra credit for slc tutoring. Long homework videos take up all your time. You might as well clear your schedule for the semester because you wont have a life taking this professor. The beginning starts out easy. Middle of semester his exams become impossible to pass, its annoying
Homework videos help tremendously. Its just a lot take in weekly. You have no breather time. As soon as you complete 1 quiz, you have to start studying for the next. The way this class is structured, it takes a toll mentally. And the exams do not make it easier. They get harder mid semester and are more tricky. Dont fall behind. Good luck if u do
This class was harder than it should've been. Trying to keep up with over 200+ lecture videos was impossible. Quizzes every week. No breaks in between. Do not take this class! The exams had the trickiest answer choices to pick from. Be prepared to study every day of the semester and still fail.
Will definitely be retaking this class with a different professor. This class was way more difficult than it should have been. Professor bombarded us with homework and lecture videos. The videos were excessive and the amount of homework was absurd. Beware of this!!
Very helpful video lectures. First 3 exams are doable. But after that the exams get harder and trickier which is just unfair to students. Students shouldnt be punished after putting hours of work into studying, on top of life responsibilities. Orgo isnt easy. But making the class harder with trick questions is pure evil! Good luck with him!
In order to ace the exams, you need to master the underlying concepts and spend a great amount of time reviewing practice questions and online lectures daily. However, Professor Siniscalchi is exceptionally skilled in demystifying the notoriously difficult subject of O. Chem. His course fully prepared me for the O. Chem section of the MCAT.
He is one of the best professors I have ever had. Watch his videos on how he solves problems and you can ace the class. Just study !!
This is my first time ever rating a professor and I felt the NEED to come rate professor S. He is an amazing professor! I was so scared to take him because of the mixed reviews about him but guys please do not believe any of that. He is one of the best professors I've ever had, he's extremely caring and teaches with passion. *optional homework*
I took this class fully online and the professor does a great job of making instructional videos for each topic and provides lots of practice problems. He offers extra credit for every exam along with including how many questions on a certain topic will be given on the exam. You can pass the class if you study for the tests and review thoroughly.
Prof. S is a godsend. His accessible office hours and willingness to review prior exams coupled with his own videos walking through practice problems make a class like Orgo not as daunting. Rather than scaring off pre-meds by telling them to quit, he truly wants his students to succeed and helps in any way he can. I highly recommend Prof. S.
Prof S. is THE best professor I've ever had in this college and made Orgo chem 1 and 2 the easiest subjects to comprehend. If you have any questions he will explain to you in class but I've also gotten emails from him way after class time with additional videos that helped explain more which helped a lot! I wish I could take him for every subject!
This class will require a lot of your time, more than 20 hours of study time weekly. Go over the video lectures, do the homework, submit the extra credit, go to tutoring. After quiz 3, focus on the arrows, seriously. Class became much more difficult after week 3. Good luck
Weekly quizzes worth 10 points each. The professor does a great job of lecturing but his quizzes/exams are terrible. Very annoying with the different arrows for chemistry equations, just unfair! Fought the entire semester to stay afloat but could not. Recommend taking someone else
This class was a grind, but Professor Siniscalchi's teaching style and helpful lecture videos made it manageable. Unstuck AI was a lifesaver for practice problems. Tough exams, but worth the effort.
