one of the better professors here. he has good essay grading criteria. his course is interesting to begin with, so his teaching doesnt take away from the topics, it only helps to accentuate it.

WHEN ASSIGNING ASSIGNMENTS HE MAKES SURE THAT ALL HIS STUDENTS FULLY UNDERSTAND EXACTLY WHAT IS TO BE DONE. HE HAS AN EXCELLENT WAY OF TEACHING ESSAY TYPE WRITING.

Outstanding teacher. He has a one on one relationship with students which is very helpful with assignments. It's a great class if you just pay attention and do your work!

He is a good teacher and really cares about his students because he listens to your opinion. He is very open-minded. His stuttering is a bit annoying and I think he is high most of the time, but as a teacher he is great. I really enjoyed the pop culture class.

Great professor!!, Keeps the class interesting. Teaches the class useing pop cuture topics so it dosn't get boring, and you are able to write your papers about modern topics, and you can pick topics that interest you. I would deffinitly recommend taking the class with him.

Great Teacher. I've taken two classes with him (Eng-204/231) and learned so much, plus both classes were very interesting. Every piece of literature on his syllabus is awesome. He makes them even better with the light he sheds on them during class. Do the reading and take his advice on writing papers and you will do well in the class.

He says he's fair, but he's more than fair!I panicked/couldn't think straight on my final due to sleep deprivation. After the whole 2hrs. I handed in completely moronic/illegible answers to all questions. He still gave me a B+. I know I should have failed.

this guys a pretty cool guy. At first I was pissed because he keeps you until the last minute of class, and makes you read like crazy, but I actually came away from the class with something. His final was very long, but overall i did well in the class, show up and pay atention and you will do fine.

He is a gr8 professor! Very easy class. We had one quiz the entire semester,no tests and our final paper was so easy! Always bring your text book,we used it every day! But a very easy class, take it!!

He is just the best Prof! I took him 2x because I love his teaching style. He really forces you to read carefully and think about everything that you read. He is also a nice person, extremely insightful, helpful, and all of the materials are that are required are truly interesting reads. If you pay attention, you will learn a great deal from him.

I like this guy a lot. He makes a lot of jokes, some of which could be considered offensive. One time I called him out on it in front of the whole class, and after class he said "I really respect what you said. I do cross a certain line sometimes, and I don't wanna be insensitive to people." Respectful, helpful, fair in grading.

I've taken 3 courses with Dr. Strode and all of them were equally wonderful! I've learned so much. All of the readings and classroom discussions were intriguing. His teaching style encourages you to really think. He is a truly nice person with a warm and interesting personality that enhances the learning experience and adds something special.

I'd say that the previous comment is from the world of fiction--it has nothing to do with the real Dr. Strode. I'm finishing my 2nd course with this prof. and can say that his explanations are very clear and thorough, and studying with him really enriches you with knowledge. Great professor, i was never a fan of english. He is clear and gets the point across. Fair grader and the tests are equally fair as well, nothing on it was a suprise and all of the topics on them were discussed. I would definately recommend him!

Textbook is used everyday. He is a pretty funny guy, but sometimes he tries too hard to be funny. If you don't get the grade you want on a paper, you get a week or two to rewrite it. Tests are easy, just pay attention in class. Three papers and a research paper. Pretty cool guy; I'd take him again.

The best English professor I ever had. Strongly recommend him, I had him for english 101 and would love to take 102 with him. I hated english class because i just can't write but because of the way he taught me I was able to get all A's in his class. You can even txt him to ask him questions on how to write the paper.

An easy class so long as you read what he assigns for hmwk and hand in the essays. He tells you that he will fail you if you don't hand in every essay and he means it. I did well on all the essays and then got lazy and didn't do the last one and now I have an F. He was pretty clear on how he wanted the essays and the short answer tests were easy.

He was thorough in every class. Grades hard on the papers but as long as you do the reading and engage in the class you will do good. The best eng teacher I've had so far.

Nice guy, but his class is in the north annex building (far away from the main lot) so keep that in mind if you plan on taking his class. Also his class is somewhat boring + likes doing group work.

The only thing that you need to do is to, attend class, do the papers and of course participate. And as he says in his syllabus "all because you got in A in another university doesn't mean your gonna get a A at a community college

Dr. Strode was never my professor, but I worked with him for the spring colloquium. He is an amazing individual and helped me with the transfer application process--offering help with my letters of recommendation and essays. He even supported me despite the fact that I am an undocumented student. Truly one of the best at NCC.

One of the best professors at NCC. Dr. Strode really is an amazing person and truly cares about his students. If you're willing to put out the effort, he's willing to do the same for you. He's very encouraging, and always willing to help inside the classroom and out. His classes are the best I've had at Nassau - I'll be taking my third in the fall.

A Great Professor. Truly moved by his discussions and analysis on Literary works. Prior to taking the class I thought I know a lot but I was wrong. He's very considerate in grading if he sees you sincerely enjoy the class (which I truly did) and making an effort to participate AND ask questions. I learned a lot immensely and would take him again.

Prof Strode was a delight--says enough that he's convinced me to take his class on hip hop next semester (not very fond of it). the fella is extremely helpful and flexible; you get the grade that reflects your effort. you revise every paper (w/ notes) and it of course gives you the chance to boost your grade. Outstanding professor, its spends all class setting up expectations and guides how to write a good paper. Hard grader but you get a review and second chance to improve grades. Extremly fare and i consider him an honorable man as a former Marine honor means alot to me. If your not lazy take him work hard and you will excell in his class.

Dr. Strode is awesome. Really nice and funny. Highly recommended! 3-4 papers in the semester, 2 drafts of each. Pretty fair with homework. He's really helpful and will answer any questions you have. Had him for 101 and 102. It's my second year at ncc and I can easily say he's one of the best. I have taken a different English class with someone else and it's no where near as good as Strode's class was. Take him. Won't regret it.

This guy is awesome. Show him that you're interested in the class and willing to do well and he will be your best friend throughout the whole course. I loved his class and the way he pushes you to do better. I HATE writing, but for some reason with him I actually wanted to do better each time we had an assignment.

I've taken 3 classes with Dr. Strode and he's consistently amazing. The material was interesting and challenging, and he went out of his way to make sure that we understood it without "spooned feeding" us. The person who made negative comments clearly has a tenuous grasp on the english language, so I can see why they had such a hard time.

He's nice but his British lit class was boring and he chose dry material. As long as you put in the effort you'll get a good grade. You have to read for every class and he likes to give pop quizzes asking very detailed questions. They don't count much. There is also one paper you can revise and a final, but he tells you which readings to study.

I am honored to be able to recommend prof. strode. He is truly a wonderful educator. He can both teach and offer assistance to those who might require additional help. I am such a person, English is a second language for me . I will be taking English 102 with him and am very much looking forward to it.

Great class and professor. I took him for all my English courses that I needed and I DO NOT REGRET IT. I learned a lot with him, but I also have to say that ENG 231 has to be my favorite of all his classes. The material was great specially the Golden Age writers. The class was better than I expected.

Had to drop his class as it didn't fit well with my schedule, but from what I could tell taking his class two days, he has that immediate "yes this professor is the man" effect, and I actually learned a good amount in that one hour and fifteen minute session. Seemed like all around good guy and definitely deserves the good ratings.

I took him for American literature. The readings he assigns are always very interesting and he goes over everything very thoroughly. If you do poorly on the essay he allows you to rewrite it. All of the material on the midterm and final is exactly what he went over in class. if you don't read the stories or take notes you will fail. That simple.

Drops lowest grade(s) in tests, quizzes, "blue books", essays. Grades are based off of progress! Chillest professor I've had. Is aware the students are not reading/studying and is letting us pretty much get away with any/everything. Final was open book. People used phones & printed out spark notes and got away with it.

Timothy Strode is an amazing Professor, there a quiz every class its very very easy if u do the readings. He is very caring and drops ur lowest grade. Very chilled and layed back and holds it down. I highly recommend u taking this class if u wanna pass

Dr. Strode is a chill, laid back, professor but you should not think you can just show up, not do the reading and still pass. His quizzes are "easy" IF you do the reading. Same goes for the in-class essays, midterm and final. He gives bonus quiz questions and drops the lowest quiz grade. I highly recommend taking his courses.

I had Strode when I was at an unstable point in my life and he really helped me focus on writing my essays. He had about 20 people in his Eng 100, and Im pretty sure all of us who didnt drop before the term ended passed. After each essay, he gave amazing feedback, essentially word by word. Communication and honesty are key to his good side.

Professor Strode was honestly a really good professor. All you have to do is get prepared for his quizzes by reading the stories, but by me just reading summaries, i did well. He gave us one paper, and lets us revise it, plus the final was open book. He prepares you for his exams, so dont worry too much about it. Its a really easy class with him

Really great professor who made learning about detective fiction very interesting. The only downsides are the class is quiz heavy from the readings and I had to purchase multiple readings for the class, which you can find some of them online for free. Overall very relaxed professor, the class was very enjoyable!

Professor Timothy Strode is one of the finest Professors of English literature at the college. His classes are really interesting and he has a really good sense of humor. Get ready for a lot of readings and assignments but he is really cool and understanding. Will definitely recommend him for all students.

Professor Strode is a great professor. As long as you read the stories and poems and can put a good essay together you will have an A in the class. Professor Strode requires the bare minimum from students. If you can handle reading and writing at a low intelligence rate then this class will be a breeze. He was one of my best professors.

He is very cool. A lot of readings. His deep understanding of the background and characteristics of detective fiction really comes through in his lectures. The quizzes are not just about concepts but also include many details. They aren't difficult, but the questions are very tricky. The only improvement I would suggest is more timely feedback.

Dr. Stride is very clear with what he expects and very understanding to personal situations which may affect your performance, you just need to make an effort and TALK to him. He is willing to read through your paper, tell you what you need, and help you get a better grade. He is also willing to meet you outside office hours, very nice man.

Whenever he gives out papers, he's very in depth about what he's looking for and makes it very easy for you to get a good grade which I appreciated.
