Hi is the best teacher. His lecture is very exited. you have to do your homework, because you will turn in your homework then he will let you have test or quiz. He is helpful for ESL student. He had a lot of method to remember your math. Take him. I got an A in his class.

He's a good teacher but he treat everyone like they're in a military. I usually feel and most classes say that he tend to be on his man-period while teaching. Too anal and complicated for a math 13 college level.

Mr. Quach is a great teacher! He explains the material clearly and the tests were not hard. He's also a funny teacher, makes the lecture fun and not boring. Homeworks were everyday but only some problems. Take his class, I recommend you :)

Mr. Quach is a fantastic instructor. I loved his use of graphs and above him explaining everything thoroughly and not just telling us to memorize formulas. He is definitely a top 5 professor at EVC, and take him if you are motivated; if not you should probably stay away because the class is a bit arduous.

Ppl make excuses as to the reasons why they fail! He requires u to put ur name, seat #, date & class time in the upper right hand corner of ur HW and box your answers! If this is "too strict" for a COLLEGE student, then u shouldnt be taking college courses! I had a 27% avg in alg in HS - now I have a B.. this is bcuz he knows how to teach!

One of the most passionate math teachers here at EVC. He loves to tell stories about himself and each story becomes more interesting one after another. He shows himself as more of a father figure than a teacher because he understands the complication a student goes through in school. Study and DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!! Easiest way to pass his class.

If you really want to learn about Math, you'll take Professor Quach's class. He's tough, but for a reason: He wants to prepare you for any and all future Math classes you'll be taking. If you're just trying to fulfill a requirement and couldn't care less about Math, then don't take this class. Great lectures, very clear lesson plans.

This professor is one of my favorites. I don't care much for math but this teacher engages the class in a way that makes you want to learn math. I enjoy his class i would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good learning experience.

Great teacher, amazing and inspirational defs one of my favorite teachers EVER!!!!!! definitely worth taking gives alot of quiz and homework but it's worth it

Quach Tin is really a good professor. His teaching method is right for students in the future. He always helps students to understant the lessons. He gives lots of homework. Howerver, if you do all, they will be for the test. You will get an easy A. He is always on time and expects students to be the same.

He is not hard at all (if you really want to learn). He inspires me to Math a lot. His lectures are amazing with lots of useful information. He usually shares some jokes or his life experiences (you may laugh). I agree that he tough on giving a lot of homework, but he creates an opportunity for students to master the formulas by practicing a lot.

Great professor. I've only taken him for DE. HW-wise: incomplete HW ok (but you SHOULD finish), a random HW is graded as a quiz, gathers HW packet at the end of each CH. Exam-wise: 3 exams & final. Sometimes he'll give an A to a B student. No cheat sheets, but tells you topics on the exams. Thoughtful lectures, easy to understand & remember.

He is such a great professor. He keeps his lectures concise and comprehensible. Although a strict grader, he helps us know how to write equations properly. He is also willing to spend time to help you on any section you are confused about. He reviews topics before the exams, which are pretty straightforward. Just study and do your homework!

He inspired me so much in math. His lectures are very organized and helpful with the examples for each portion. Just take note carefully and you can do the homework and the tests. Also, he'll keep explaining until the problem gets through. Although he doesn't allow cheatsheet, his tests are mainly based on hw and he grades fairly. Highly recommend.

Easy Class especially if you need to get the Calculus requirement done. Took calc with other professors but they are very unclear compared to Prof Quach. Hope I get him for more future classes

Don't know what the other reviewers are talking about. They are complaining because they are not doing the hw, not putting in any effort, or math is "not their subject". Do the homework. Test are like the homework (in fact easier). Question format is like the hw and in class examples. Don't make excuses and you'll get an A. This is not highschool

Do your hw. Pay attention. Study hw and examples and you will get an A. No cheat sheet. This will prepare you for future classes. If you need a cheat sheet to remember a formula, you don't really understand the material. It is an excuse to need a cheat sheet.

I was intimidated going into this class because of what I heard, but I think a lot of students are just lazy and don't want to do anything. He is a good professor and the homework is not too bad and it's similar to the test. I got an A and it wasn't as bad as I expect it to be

One of the Best Professors of Math at EVC, he will prepare you for upper level math classes. Not a lot of work compared to other professors and the work he assigns is similar to test!!!

Amazing professor who is good at teaching. Kind of strict in the regard homework and attendance is mandatory and you also have assigned seating. But the man definitely knows his stuff!!! 10/10 would recommend for all calc courses

If your major is Engineering or Math, and you take the class for knowledge but grade, his class is definitely the best choice. His lecture is clear and well-organization. He is the best Math professor I have ever had. He focus more on applications math and always relates the lecture to reality stuffs. That really make me love math.

He is definitely one of the harder math instructors at EVC, I took him for calc 1 but I can definitely say he prepared me and was correct in saying his students usually tend to outperform those who didn't take him in calc 2. Many don't finish and drop, classes finished with like 6 students lol.

Professor Quach is upfront when it comes to his expectations. He told us in the beginning of the semester that he was strict on neatness and showing work clearly. He is very organized and announces chapter tests ahead of time. Also seems very caring and genuine. Would recommend to all.

I took Professor Tin this summer for MATH-071. Here's a report about him: Lots of homework but is graded fairly. He is pretty tough, but he wants to make sure you pass. Did not curve exams but added extra credit problems (+5%) to every exam. Overall, he taught well, listened, and encouraged students as he knows he is a tough professor.

Yes, there is homework. It is not a lot though depending on your standards. However, if you understand or at least understand the solutions fully, you should be ready for the exam took him for 78

LOTS OF HOMEWORK, but it prepares you for the tests. tests were straightforward and easier than the homework and reviews he assigned. quizzes were random homework checks and occasionally in-class ones. tough class, but he's pretty lenient on grading and his notes/lectures are helpful.

Overall, I enjoyed taking this course during the summer. He provides pre-written lecture notes for the students to fill out the missing parts. Lectures were easy to follow. Most of the percent grade comes from exams but the questions on the exam are easier than the homework. As long as you study the lecture notes and do the homework you'll be fine.

You guys are tripping if you think Quach is hard. This is college-level math. It's not supposed to be easy. It is true that you have a lot of homework, but it's only graded on completion. Do your studying & homework at the same time to make the most out of it. Also there's a lot of partial credit on exams, so you'll do better than you think :)

Honestly Quach was fine. Its a college calc course, y'all.. Be for real. What to know: his homework load is INSANE. I would easily spend 5+ hrs on one assignment. Maybe it was just his summer workload, but it exhausted me so much. Tests aren't that hard, just do the homework diligently. He replaces bad exam w/ final if he sees you put in the work.

Professor is helpful and provides well written lectures with examples for HW. HW may take a while if you don't grasp the concept right away, but the organization of the class is very well done and straight forward. Explains well when you have questions. HW is harder than the tests, but if you do the HW then tests are fairly simple. Read directions!

NOT A HARD TEACHER! Writes lecture notes with students in class. Lots of homework, but grades based on completion. Tests are easier than the homework (he gives partial credit), and allows cheat sheet for final! Test questions similar to Q's done in class. Also, if your class shows participation throughout the semester, the final is a group test!

Workload is very hard but tests are straightforward and he does care about his students I would take him again if workload was a bit less.

While he is strict on attendance, he is a great teacher who is very caring for his students. He loves telling his class stories as well. The exams are very straight-forward, and the questions are similar to the problems he does in class as examples. He's very passionate about math and enjoys teaching his students.

I took the 2023 Calc 1 summer class with this professor. The hw was very time consuming, but tests were far easier than hw. So I'd say the hw definitely prepares you well for tests. Also, if you got an A on the final, you could drop all other exam grades and get an A in the class, which was nice. Partial credit on tests helps a lot as well.

Professor Quach clarifies what is expected from you as a student on the first day. The homework in the class took hours, but it's not too difficult if you pay attention to his lectures on the day of. Listen in class and any feedback given.

He explains what is expected of you in the first class. He gives great lectures and explains the concepts very well. Clear grading on the tests. Prepare to do a lot of homework (1.5 - 3 hours) to pass his tests. Shares his stories in his classes and is passionate about math. Overall great experience, he made studying calculus enjoyable.

Professor Quach is a very demanding professor and strict in some aspects. Despite this, he makes it very clear what is expected on exams and genuinely wants to help students understand the material. Do homework problems to prepare for exams and attend office hours to do well. You got to fall in love with DE to get an A in this class.

Everyone talks bad him but he's an awesome caring professor, I got a B but it was a well deserved B, everyone wants As without deserving it. He's just like any other math professor, he knows his stuff, he's passionate, and he's willing to help, don't take 5 classes with math, it doesn't make sense, so don't blame him if your struggle.

He is undeniably strict and is very clear about what he expects from students. Lectures and example problems do help, but make sure you dedicate at least 3-5 hours per week to homework. Trust me. His exams are way easier than the homework assignments, so you'll be plenty prepared if you work on all of them. I really appreciate his passion for math.

The professor teaches very attentively, he is willing to answer questions about exercises or lectures if you do not understand. There is a lot of homework but if you spend enough time on it, the tests will be extremely easy. If you study hard, listen to lectures, take notes and do the exercises, you can learn.
