He is one of the best math teacher I have had. He explains math very well.Show interest in the class ask questions and go to the last day and he will pass you.
Fun, helpful, and an interesting teacher. Not an easy class though--you'll have to work hard.
Tough instructor, not very helpful if you aren't the greatest at math. Also tends to move on to things too fast, hard to follow and easy to get left behind, so ask questions!
tough instructor. he moves quickly, and the tests and quizzes are killer. make sure to do your hw on time! quach explains things very well, and has very nice handwriting. ask lots of questions, that was my mistake... :/
Offers help when you need it. Requires to use graphic calculator a lot. Spends too much time on calculator features that change from model to model anyway. Fast pace. Hard to get an A.
study hard and do not be afraid to ask ?'s. He has a sense of humor but he is strickly business. understands math extremely well. gives great notes to prepare you for test. you must give effort. Quach does not give A's you earn them. GREAT TEACHE
A VERY GOOD AND AND HELPFUL TEACHER
Quach is a great lecturer and tells you exactly what you need to do to get an A. Somewhat strict, but overall, it was an easy class.
I would recommend this teacher for anyone who has ever wanted to really understand algebra. He is very patient, helpful, and fair. His class structure will discipline you into studying and that may even carry over into your other classes.
Hella smart. Good at teaching. Dont forget to follow all his guidelines. Kind of picky.
Not very helpful and goes to fast.
his class isn't to bad, but u have to work hard for your grade. write down all of his lecture notes because they WILL show up on tests. do all of your hw and you'll be fine
Very picky about any and all work submitted. Go so far as to wonder about an obsessive-compulsive disorder. Class is lecture only half of the time with the other half spent working on homework associated with the lecture.
Smart teaceher knows math very well and helps understand. Very picky about things but if you pay attention this class will be easy.
great teacher, very picking but you'll learn to adjust to his style. do all homework you'll do great.
Very good teacher. He is very picky about small things, but other than that, not a bad person overall. Just do HW and have a sense of humor and you will pass this class. oh, Don't forget about the tests....LoL
okay this man is co, knows what he is teaching, not bad over all.BUT he is very (picky) over some bull SHHIIIT..U WILL GET jacked if u don't do everything exactly the way he wants.he is a Rockie so he is trying to prove a Point out of NOTHING its just a CC class and nothing else basically its a wrap
He's a very good professor but he's kind of like a perfectionist because he's very picky on what he wants. Overall, you will learn his style of teaching.
he is a nice guy, but goes fast. If you are bad at tests this is not the class for you (HW counts only 12% of grade)
clear, organized, smart, he'll help you if ur having a hard time u just have to ask. great class!!!
he is a GREAT TEACHER. he knows what he is talking about. he doesn't even need the book to lecture. his tests and final are based on hw and lecture. he is EXTREMELY picky and anal about assignments. must be done his way or u get no credit. very nice. always there for extra help.
I love Mr. Quach. He is organized and presents math in such a concise manner. He wants you to pass, but don't disrespect his classroom with phones and talking. Homework is done everyday in the latter part of class so he can help. He spoiled me and my next teacher for 13 was the TOTAL opposite.
Mr. Quach a great teacher but a little picky at what he wants you to do. I think it's just preparing you for what is to come if you plan on going to a university or other programs. He is very clear on what he teaches and wants you to learn. Do all the assigned work and you'll be fine.
great professor. Just do ur hw and you will be ok.
very good teacher. he knows his materials very well, organized, and has a dorky sense of humor. he's helpful and patient. if strugglin, go to his office hrs.
Fair hw, quizes, & tests, but difficult to pass a class/aim 4 A. He's a good teacher 4 learning, not 4 a decent grade.
He is a good teacher. He will push you to learn by collecting homework, giving quizes each week, and ofcourse exams. However, homework and quizes can affect your grade even though you do well on your exams, since points make your grade, not your performance on the exams. He will not aswere questions from previous math courses such as trigonometry.
He just went along with the students who understood and did nit take out time to find out the problems of the students who were struggling in this class.
extremely picky, has his favorites in the class, but teachers material very good.
Great teacher. Hope I get him again for math 13
Mr. Quach is a funny person, but when it comes down to work... He's very strick about it... He's an approchable person, but he gives out too much work... Every day we go to class... there's another two assignments due by the next week... I know that's a lo
Mr. Quach is really funny and helpful. I am AWEFUL at math; yet I passed his class with an A. Not because it was easy- but because he really helps you understand. He is VERY clear with instructions and makes taking a math class less painful. There is a lot of homwork, but he gives you time in class to complete most of it. I recommend this professor
My favorite teacher ever!!!! He was the best math teacher i ever had, and now i love math! you better go to class every day, and do your homework!!! you will totally get a great grade if you keep on top of your work!
STEER CLEAR! DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER! Sure, he is clear in his lectures but he is very strict and is extremely picky when it comes down to the homework. every little thing counts, and if you don't do one assignment, your grade goes down the drain big time. He'll even kick you out of the class if your phone goes off. STAY AWAY! TRUST ME!
Quach really defines what a teacher is. He helps you to understand math and not only does he explain it in a way you can understand but the grip of homework (that he lets you complete in class) actually helps and not hinder you. I absolutely HATE math but this guy helps you to love it (only in his class!).
Hard teacher.Explain things ok. Lots of hard homework, extremely picky in exams. Not flexible at all. He knows the stuff, but it will be a hard class to take:he could be more helpful but he is not.You will learn a lot but it will be painful.Be on time to every class and do the hard long homework.
He is very strict, very clear, great teacher but almost impossible to get an A in his class.
Best math teacher I ever had, lots of homework, very strict and serious. Communication is key, you talk to him if you need help or you need anything and he will be fair and help. He's amazing with math.
WORST TEACHER EVER!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!! you can't even understand what he's saying. Because of him, I had to take this stupid class over again. Helliwell is better. take her instead.
The best math teacher I have ever had. He was very clear with what he taught and made math easier to understand.
Way too much work for a lousy C.You kill yourself for nothing. Find some one easier and better at explaining Mathematics.
Work, work, and more work. That is what the class is. It is like taking 3 math classes at the same time. Allow lots of time to study enough to barely pass. Take him at your own risk.
hard and difficult teacher. plan spending 15 hrs a week just to get by.
Some people can teach, some can't, and some should not. Quach can't and should not be teaching. He has no heart, and no soul.
He is the best teacher I ever had!! Although he kinds strict but he grades fairly and very clear in hist lecture. Most of his quizz and test come from your homeworks. I got A ++ in his Math 072. Take him... Sure that you will do much better in Math
I took math 71 and 72 with Mr.Quach, so i had a chance to know about his personality well. He was fair, helpful and great in lecturing. I came to his office for help very often. Importantly, i became math tutor after his class and have handled all calculus problems because knoledge I learned in his calculus classes. I would recommend Mr.Quach.
he was one of the best math teachers i ever had. a lot of hw, but for your own good. strict but fair. if you want to get an A, not this class unless you do everything perfect, but you would learn so much not even funny. he explains the problems like word for word so if you still dont understand he has an office that you are welcome to.
Mathematics is taught as it were a cooking class: a bunch of rules that you follow no matter what. Learned very little in this class (learned to follow HIS rules about doing homework and taking HIS exams). A total disappointment since I like mathematics. Find a real math instructor and not a drill sargent!!
It's evident that he knows Calculus BUT it was his 1st time teaching PreCalc when I took him and it was All Bad. It's impertinent to learn the foundations but he taught this class soo fast and was soo hard on us as if we were in Calculus. We learned 2 or 3 sections/day + HW/day + Quizzes twice/wk! It's no wonder more than half the class DROPPED!
I bet mr. Quach would be better in any subject but Math25. The class was a ridiculous whirlwind. NOT the way math should be taught. You spend more time ensuring your homework is done right, that it cuts into study time for your tests and quizzes. And oh yeah if you get less than a C on homework he'll drop you. I guess 80% of the class got a C-.
dude, this guy was the hardest guy ive ever dealt with. heres how he grades.. 10% of your grade goes to homework, 10% of your grade goes to quizes, 30% goes to the final exam, and check this 50% OF YOUR GRADE IS FROM TESTS!!!! now if math comes easy to you and you have no life aside from living, breathing, sleeping math...than go for it..
I don't know why some guys over here rate this teacher like that? I can see that he always put his effort to help you guys understand the course, and if you put enough efforts in his class, u will be fine. There is nothing to worry about next levels because he gives you the foundation for those whenever you take his classes. Be on time!
great teacher. He is super nice and always willing to help.he is very patient and wants everyone to do well. he expects a lot but if you do the hmwk you will get a good grade in the class.
this teacher is confusing.
He really is a good teacher. I am horrible at math and he was the first teacher that could get through to me. He gives ALOT of homework but if you really want to learn he is very helpful. I recommend him to anyone who struggles with math and really wants to learn the fundamentals he really Helped Me!!!
At the beginning, I hated him and really wanted to drop him, but all the other classes were full. I now thank God that I never dropped him because this is the first time I ever felt smart about math. No one else ever made me feel that special and talented!! Summary: if you are willing to work really hard but get a well-earned A, GO FOR IT!!
He is very unfair and doesnt help his students when he has office hours in mind
Cal 2 was hard at the beginning only b/c I was taking it for granted.I was used to getting As without studying. I got a C 4 the 1st exam. It was like a slap in the face. But I never thought of quitting, because he was such a strict but good professor, gives passionate lectures. For the 1st time,I studied for my A and I learned alot w/ him. Take him.
He's actually a very organized and very good teacher! That is, if you are really willing to learn math. I'm really bad with numbers but when i took his class, i learned a lot and started to like math. Unfortunately, i was just irresponsible so i only got a D. So, the grades and learning's are actually depends on YOU
Teaches good, but hard. You have to definetly earn your grade! He's VERY strict!
ATTENTION Visual Learners! If you're like me and learn by taking notes from the board then take Mr. Quach! He writes everything on the board which is very clear and helpful. But if you're horrible in math, do not take him as he moves a mile a minute. Oh yea, his jokes will CrAcK you up!
Awesome! I had so much fun in this class and made a lot of friends too. In fact, we even took a class picture. Quach is really funny and he gets on an eye-to-eye level with the students. He has a light accent, but I understand him well. He has great teaching skills and I'm real happy I chose him as my math teacher!!!
He is a good teacher. He is not easy but if you come to class and study hard. You should be fined. He doesn't let you used notecard though! You have to memmorize all the formulars on the tests. Good luck!
Worse teacher rogue if you play a sport don't take him are even think you got a chance in this class it's so hard and he will drop you after 3 late classes
Hard teacher but is crystal clear and gives extra credit. Strict on Homework format and has pop quizes whenever there arent many students. Gives lots of extra credit if the class needs it. I would recommend taking his class.
DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS. Take my advice serious. DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS.
The worst teacher I have ever had. Just 7 students among 40 passed this class. I did overal around 400 pages homework and finally got C.
If you want to take his class drop your other classes and quit you job, because you have to do homework 5 to 6 hours a day. Awful teacher.
Quach is organized and has a clear plan. Lots of homework to make sure you understand. Had to work for an A but when I did ALL the homework I did really well on his test. His test measure how well you understood the material. Not going to lie, its a hard class, but he was so visual it made sense! Go to office hours if you need help. Good luck
He is very strict about attendance, tardiness, and homework format. But, he really is a good teacher and he wants his students to learn the subject. He gives great lectures and is willing to help any student who asks. The reason why some don't like his class is because it actually requires some effort and hard work.
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. I love math and had straight As until him. He gives unreasonable amounts of homework and is just an unreasonable teacher. 4 out of 40 people passed his class in Fall 2012. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!
Do not take his class if you do not have a stong background on math. Alot of homework for sure but the worst part is that he wants people to copy the problems from the book. Although the homework amount its fair the pain to write every single problem it is just too much. I will not recomend this teacher if your background in math its not the best
Tin is a very strict teacher but is the most clear proffesor I have ever had my whole educational career learning math. If you are motivated to learn and understand he is there to help you succeed.
He wants student to enjoy mathematics. He teaches super good but the course material require time to practice. He did perfect job so far very smart math teacher.
He mostly is a good teacher, his tests are extremely hard though so studying is a must in this class.
Professor Quach is one of the best professors I've had so far. He cares about his students and writes good, detailed notes on the board. If you actually want to learn, take his class! Some complain about the amount of hw assigned but it helps so much. Only take his class if you are committed :P This class actually requires a lot of work. Worth it!
You must be a dedicated person to achieve success in any of Tin's classes. I have been well educated and inspired by Mr. Quach to give my best efforts in school. He is a VERY intelligent man, but his class is no walk in the park. If you're serious about learning math, I definitely recommend him.
He wants very few students. At the end of the semester, we were only 12 out of 44 that began the class. We were only 8 that passed the class. HW's have to be done his way or the highway:he won't accept HW unless it is done his way: a dictatorial instructor that treats you like a child.Take him at your own risk(warning).
If you are one of the lazy students and expect an easy A, don't take this class ffs. Math is not an easy subject, you need dedication. This man will teach you that. Yes he is strict, a bit old-fashioned, but very organized and neat. You will learn a lot from him than any other professor on campus.
He is a good teacher. Has a lot of homework but if you want to pass the class, Do the homework! Attendance is a must. Started with 44 students and ended with 20. He's organized and neat. The test are kind of hard but if you study you will be ok. It's not multiple choice. Overall he's clear and helps you understand and gives extra credit.
Math teachers should give you the tools to pass the class to make you move forward. Mr, Quach does not do that. He should know that all students have jobs, 2 jobs, other classes and family to take care of. Asking a more than 30 questions per week is too much. And others are dyslexic in numbers which I realized, after a 3rd time failed by him.
