I found her class to be very fair and reasonable. Her lectures give you all the ideas that you need to know and that will be on the test. Made a Rate My Professor account just for this class. Professor Lam has the most unstructured, incomprehensible lectures I have seen. She uses pre-recorded lessons I'm assuming from past classes and pieces them together with random new recorded bits. Highly suggest using supplemental materials (textbook, online) if taking her class.

This is the first chem prof I've ever had that made their exams actually representative of what we learn in class. My only complaint is that for online lectures, she mostly just uploaded recordings of in-person lectures.

Being a professor seems like an inconvenience to her. Her exams are worded terribly and if you write her an email to clarify, she'll take forever to reply and won't even address your question. On top of that, all her lectures are recycled from previous classes and pieced together from previous classes. Don't take this class if you can help it.

Took during S225. Optional lectures. Study homeworks for midterms and final exams. Class was curved after final exam. Practice problems will be your best friends and crib sheets can be used on midterms and final. Discussion sets helpful. Professor is hard so need to dedicate time outside of class. 2 hws given a week and graded based on accuracy.

She isn't the greatest lecturer and rambles sometimes, and her lecture slides aren't the most helpful. The midterm was okay but her final was hard. I think the class is just intense in general, with pre-lab quizzes, lab reports, and data reports due so often (but lab reports aren't that bad). There's a lot of reading just for the pre-quizzes too.

Bad grading criteria, everything was inconsistent and grading rubric didn't relate to your grades. Took off random points for literally nothing no explanation and if you asked she doesn't know why. Everyone in my section hated it, we were all receiving different scores while writing similar things for the lab reports. Extremely biased grader.

Not sure what the hate is about. Was very nervous for this prof based on reviews, but I liked her and did well (I'm not even that good at chem fr). Workload is heavy, but doable if you plan well. Final much harder than midterm. Study supplemental questions for exams. She is clear with what she expects on exams. Many opportunities for points.
