Not the most interesting class in the world. She needs to work on her speaking skills, say UM too much. Had to high of expectations for the midterm. The final is all essays though, kinda makes up for it. Explanations for things seems a little vague. Not sure where she comes up with some things.

Wouldn't take again

SO MUCH WRITING it felt like taking ENGL317 again. Expect a short essay and 3 discussion board posts every week on top of to a 5-7 page 5-7 source report every month. Lectures did little to teach the content, just use the books. The 17 short answer midterm/final was awful to take on Blackboard's text boxes; do them on Word then copy over.

I ended up having to drop this class. Im sorry but this is much too hard for a 200 level class, let alone a core. Prof Kelleher is a nice person but her style of teaching and assignments were way too hard. Unless you have a vested interest in this topic and course, curb it because its too hard for this level.

This is supposed to be a computer science major class, but I feel like I’m just taking another English class. I judt barely finished the midterm in time (there’s a synchronous version on blackboard) and all 17 questions were short answer that each had 3 parts to the question, plus 10 essay questions due the same night. WAY TOO MUCH WRITING!!!!!

SO. MUCH. WORK. This course felt like a second job to me. I think I'm spending about 40+ hours a week writing up short essay responses. Prof Kelleher is caring, but only take her if you plan on being part time. Otherwise, get ready to commit almost all of your free time doing the insane amount of assignments she gives you.

Although Kelleher was nice and cared a lot about the topic, it was just way too many writing assignments. Choose another professor if you can. It became really overwhelming after the third week. Be prepared to write 3-4 short essay questions a week, as well as 3 lengthy research papers. Lectures weren't that helpful, so having the book it vital.

So many papers, so many "short" responses that are actually paragraphs long. No she will not give any extension. Be ready to write write write! I thought this will be an actual computer science class but its just like another level of English class. This class is very overwhelming. Avoid this course with this professor if possible.

I would write an essay on how much work she required, but that would be too much work. Be ready to write until you can't write no more. Prof Kelleher is nice and all, but she's not worth your time. Take COSC 418 with someone else for the sake of your sanity.

English class not a comp sci class (obviously), very interesting, 2 exams (solely short/essay responses, online, tightly timed, open book), a few? extended writing assignments, never went to class just reviewed material for about 30 min before assessments, just write the stuff and you can't fail I promise

Nice professor and is fair enough with grading, but get ready to write. Class is lecture with some group discussions. Course load: 4 papers throughout semester (starting at 2 pages w/powerpoint buiding to 8 page final paper) and ~300 word discussion board posts every week. Tests are open note. Class difficulty determined by writing ability & time

Honestly, if your not required by a comp sci requirement don't take. LOTS OF PAPERS but, it boils down to how fast you can write the papers and how broad is your tech knowledge. If you have a good understanding of technology writing the papers honestly aren't bad. She makes lectures very fun

Pretty straight forward professor, you don't have to go to class at all really. You can go for the first 15 minutes find out what's due and leave tbh. If your interested in tech inside cities this class is for you.

Writing heavy. 1 or sometimes 2 writing assignments due a week. Oblivious to the amount of work she gives, and does not accept late work. Assignments are frustrating to understand, and her lectures aren't any better as she's unnecessarily wordy with her explanations. I doubt she knows what she's talking about.

Talks a lot in lectures, doesn't say much. Better off studying the powerpoints instead. Dates and submissions were confusing, with assignments being more annoying then something to actually learn from. The course feels more like a high school class. Do you know what I mean?

This was the hardest, most time consuming, and work heavy class that I have taken at Towson. The professor has an attitude, the most long and annoying assignments ever, and you need to create a paper written by Einstein himself in order to get a good grade in this class. If you need this class for a credit, TAKE SOMEONE ELSE. save yourself.

Overall a good professor! The class had three weekly assignments: in class assignments (we did not do them in class, but they were due at the end of the day which was annoying), homework(super easy, just follow the textbook), and labs (also fairly easy). I had to turn in some assignments 1/2 complete bcs of work and she gave me 70%. Shes very nice!

The most annoying professor. The workload is insane. Assignments are straight from the book and she doesn't even explain how do do them. She doesn't teach you how to code at all she just critiques your code like you've been coding 5+ years. The smallest error in the code and you get a 0. Avoid her don't stress yourself. I honestly did not enjoy this course. The lectures were super boring and obnoxious, and I don't even remember half of the things she discussed. There's multiple papers and a take home essay along with both exams. If you're up for it... good luck.
