Tina seems really nice at first but she turns into a brat if you make her mad. DOnt use cell phones in class. Her class was really easy but it is time consuming. The tests are easy cause you can use your notes just make sure you take good ones.

Do not take this class in an election year, she will push her political opinions on you any chance she gets. She is also one of those annoying Lance Armstrong bandwagoners. Her lectures are dull and she gives loads of petty, yet easy, assignments.

This class is interesting i dont mind coming, Tina is quite intertaining. However she is a hard grader, and the test was very difficult. Shes one of those that give two right answers and you have to pick the more right answer.

This is my favorite teacher at Grossmont, I have never found a teacher so enjoyable. I took her for summer class, she kept me interested the entire time, and I was not looking forward to this class.

Tina is great, but strict. DO NOT be late, or miss more than two classes! Be prepared for lots of fast notetaking, because she talks quite fast. The tests are bit difficult, & there's a lot of papers to write. If you're fresh out of high school, & not ready for college work, don't take Tina. But if you're a serious student, take Tina's class!

She is strict on attendance. Very funny and loud.. If you can write a paper ANY paper, you should do fine. Very simple--- You wath 3 movies and write a paper about each one. Her tests are a bit har, but if you write good papers, then you should be fine. I failed all the tests, got good grades on the papers , and I pased with an A

Tina made her summer class fun even though it was a quick four weeks, she still made the tests fair with appropiate study guides. She is also very fair with grading.

Follow the class outline,points earned for turning in work early. Lectures are funny, this helps with the quizes.As for being tardy, read the outline, of course you can't be late all the time, slacker!

VERY mixed emotions about her...shes the FUNNIEST and COOLEST teacher i've ever had! The thing that got to me was the attendance. You HAVE to go or you're screwed...another thing, you have to be present for the ENTIRE in-class movies, which is insane. Oh, and she usually lets you out early so that's a plus. It was pretty tough- lots of reading & lots of essays in a short amount of time. But Tina rocks as a teacher, so I aced the class in return!

Tina aka Lil Rock and Roller aka Goddess of Love, what a character! Funny, witty and sharp, she teaches this class with humor and real life examples. Not too hard, I was pretty lazy but scored a "B". Essays are not too hard, just make sure there's no extra space between your paragraphs and turn off your cell phone, she hates both! Good Luck!

Tina is my favorite teacher EVER! She comes off a bit stern at first, but she is very funny, and makes class super interesting. This was the only class I passed last semester, and it was the only one I looked forward to, and enjoyed being in. Tina is fantastic, and you will absolutely love her. Prof Perez is pretty awesome! I learned a lot from this class! You must involve yourself and prepare ahead of time! You will be successful if you do what is expected. Stay in touch with the instructor if you are having difficulties and she will help accomodate you! Be an honest student and she will appreciate that!

She is also not willing to tolerate High School behavior, after all, you are in COLLEGE. If you aren't going to put in the effort...please don't register for classes! Overall, she's an A-!

Comm sucks but Tina is a good professor. She is also very strict in grading however, she actually has a standard that a lot of English teachers just ramble about. She is very direct. She also really engages with students because after all it is communication.

Took this class online and it was pretty easy. If you have questions about an assignment she replies quickly. You have to do discussion boards every week but if your response makes sense and you make textbook references you'll get the full points.Her tests are timed and can be harsh but if you get good scores on her other assignments you'll pass.

This was my first public speaking class so I didn't know what to expect. She is super fun and helpful although she could be strict at times. There were 3 presentations and the outlines are somewhat hard. Bur overall I learned a lot and I am no longer afraid to present. My public speaking skills improved a lot! Take her class!!

Perez assigns a lot of work and I didn't pass a single one of her tests, however, when it came to the discussion boards and journal assignments, she was a very fair grader and she offers extra credit at the end. She wasn't the greatest teacher, but she wasn't bad either. I ended up with a B.

She is pretty funny and class isn't too bad. Most days she lets everyone out pretty early. The main thing to focus on is nailing the outlines. She's SUPER picky about those and they make up the vast majority of your grade. Do that and don't break her super strict rules or make fun of Bruce Springsteen and you'll be ok.

Wow! What an amazing teacher. I took this class online during the summer and I want to meet her in person so bad! Fair teacher, grades fairly. Once she sees that you put effort into your assignments(writing) you get full credit. Not an easy class but just do the work! The only hard part is the quizzes. Timed and little hard but from the textbook.

Tina is funny, a great professor, and has clear instructions. Most teachers give you a topic and you have to write about it not knowing what to say but Tina gives clear instructions which makes it easier to do assignment by asking her questions in essay format. I took this as a 8 week hybrid class and it had far less work than expected.

If you are going to take Communication, you need to take Professor Perez. Her lectures are her talking the whole class but she is so funny and keeps you interested the entire time. There are several writing assignments you have to turn in online but they are not hard. There is one group speech and one individual speech and she makes it super easy.

I took her 8-week hybrid course and I strongly recommend it. Perez is a great professor. Even though the lectures are very long, she makes them fun with her humor and very interesting. The discussion board posts we do have a strict criteria that we must follow in order to get a good grade. I actually learned a lot from her class.

Pretty easy-going, as long a you show up for class and do the assigned homework. Make sure you follow her assignment instructions EXACTLY, otherwise, get ready for a low score. We barely used the textbook, solely for mandatory text examples in the papers; but her final is partially open book, so you'd probably want to get one.

Love Tina Perez! If you have a fear of public speaking, take her. It's super enjoyable and she's so funny, it's ridiculous. Amazing teacher- one of, if not best, I've ever had.

re: INTERPERSONAL COMMs, I enjoy engaging people/public speaking, and she is responsive to those who CARE. (1) will have 2-3 multi choice quizzes; study-guides provided, content is drawn FROM TEXT but IS NOT VERBATIM; (2) participate in class; (3) will write 2 papers on films she chooses, must watch in class; (4) Take her class! And have fun!

Good luck attending her class without laughing! She is very intelligent and clearly loves her job. Tests/quizzes can be tricky but otherwise grading isn't too difficult. I would love to take another class with her.

Prof. Perez is an amazing instructor, she's a bit of a tough grader on the homework consists of biweekly papers that require you to either watch a movie/listen to accounts and relate them to the terms used in class. She's an amazing professor! Her lectures are really funny, so you're never bored (I had her over the summer, so I had her for 3 hours everyday, M-TH for four weeks). There is a reasonable amount of reading for a college class, DO ALL THE READINGS AND TAKE GOOD LECTURE NOTES. Her grading criteria for assignments are very clear and specific.

Took her 6-week online class. Pretty easy. Just do the readings, the weekly discussion boards, and the quizzes and you'll do fine. For the quizzes she gives you a study guide which helps. She doesn't take any late work!!!!!!

Attendance is mandatory and the classes are pretty small so she learns who you are quickly. Just laugh at her jokes, keep up with the reading, and show up and you'll be good to go.

Tina is awesome!! The people giving her a bad rating are the type of people that want to walk into a class, sit there, and get an A. If you put in the effort and show her you're trying to do well she will give you the means to get the grade you should. She is fair and will by no means give you an A but you have to deserve the A. Miss Perez was definitely my best teacher. She is super funny and nice which makes her lectures very interesting. I wish all my teachers were like her. The book is mandatory and most of your grade in the class is based off of the reading. If you are shy at speaking in front of others, she is really accommodating.

DO readings! She customizes her study guide to every question on the quiz. She offers reading response questions every week its only 5 questions DO IT, itll help ur grade later. U do 2 essays, shes specific about what she wants just do it how she says. Offers extra credit. Nothing is cumulative. U do 1 speech. Lecture helps A LOT & shes funny

Hilarious and caring, she ties her lectures to real-life stories and has us do the same, which allows her lessons to resonate a little deeper, and stick with us longer. She has rules and will stick with them, but that doesnt mean shes ruthless. In fact, shes incredibly understanding and desires our feedback to improve her methods.

I was nervous taking this class based on the previous reviews. This was not a bad class at all! All you need to do is read, follow directions, and participate. She gives feedback and is available by email. This class consists of reading, discussion boards, quizzes, exams, and short "essays". Really easy if you do the work. I learned a lot!

Took her 8 week class during the pandemic and it was pretty challenging. Although it was hard she does a great job by being clear with what must be done. Be ready to type a lot. As long as you do the HW you can get an easy A!

She does not allow make up work and is unavailable on the weekends, but again she tells you that from the beginning. I really enjoyed her class. Great lectures.

Professor Perez was a pleasure to have as a professor for my communications requirement. I took her course online, and honestly, you will succeed if you do her assignments thoroughly and on time. She provides very clear instructions on assignments, and you can tell she cares deeply about your success. Hard work does not go unnoticed in her class.

All the work is super easy but everything that is graded is work that is online and are usually due and only opened on the weekends so I tend to forget about doing it but was a super easy class, overall Perez was a good teacher but did get annoyed pretty easily but I don't think she's a bad teacher.
