This professor is a good professor. She has a teaching style that is heavy on you needing to learn before coming to class, but she is a genuine person and her grading is super decent! If you participate in class and are a good student, the class is easy! I would certainly recommend as a 601!

While I loved the textbook and the actual material - Professor Winston was very tough and the reviews are not necessarily wrong. She is witty and tried to incorporate humor, but she does come off passive aggressive, refuses to give study guides, and her exam questions are very difficult and niche. Take this class, but not with this professor.

Psych 456 was a great class content-wise. But... I honestly got more enjoyment from reading the textbook than I got from going to class- Professor Winston's lectures were absolutely unbearable. She does not know how to teach and does not prepare students for exams. Take Psych 456, but not with Tina Winston.

Very textbook heavy, but I think she started catching on that people weren't coming to lecture or paying attention because the tests started to ask more questions about studies covered in class. Had an exam after election day, which she seemed not to care about or have sympathy about.

Lectures usually unhelpful. Was more confused when I paid attention in class than when I did not. Lots of busy work and always had something due. LOTS of readings and things to know, but as long as you have a general idea of them you will be fine. Exams fairly straightforward as long as you prepare. Class was definitely harder than it needed to be.

Although this may not be well-liked on here, I did not mind Dr. Winston. I thought she was always willing to help, and I truly think she wanted us to succeed. The class had moments where it was slightly confusing, but overall, this class was better than I anticipated. If you work ahead of time in this class, you will be more than fine!

Don't take this class. Seriously. Quizzes are impossible to prepare for and pull from the most random parts of the textbook. Her recorded lectures are incredibly dry. The workload consists of a weekly quiz, weekly article assignment, a discussion board post, and required responses to 5+ group members. All for 4 credits. This class is so boring.

You can tell she's passionate about her job, but lectures are the same thing as the text and the tests, very boring to attend. She's a very nice lady though.

Her slides are really confusing. Instead of defining key concepts or explaining their significance, she mostly lists studies and research findings. Her slides just show charts and procedures, most are in textbook and others aren't even mentioned at all. She can't explain concepts right and doesn't want to admit she is wrong even when we correct her

Tina is very boring to listen to and attendance for lecture is not necessary as everything is in the textbook. However exams are not very challenging

This class was really boring and nothing like I expected getting myself into. I would not recommend this class, the lectures are really long and its just experiment after experiment and tables. no actual interesting concepts of social psych

Professor Winston leads a lecture that is hard to follow and disengaging. There is little cushion homework for the course, so it's all really up to how you do on exams-- which, have multiple questions that contain nearly incomprehensible verbiage, and have too much ambiguity to be able to properly answer the question. Save your GPA, don't take this

RUN. I don't care how much of an interest you have in this class. she will make you second-guess even wanting to pursue your major anymore. Does not post slides, goes through slides in milliseconds, and has an attitude with students who respectfully ask her to slow down. Take any other psych class available, please.

Tina gets way too much hate. While lectures are pretty boring, she is passionate about social psych and presents helpful studies. The topic matter isn't rocket science, she does what she can with the course content. The exams are fair, and it is not hard to get an A in this class. Don't listen to these reviews, she's a nice old lady!

Saw the previous ratings and was lowkey scared taking her class. But I was in her honors section too, and shes really nice and answers any questions you might have. The exams aren't very hard, they're very similar to exams for any of the other psych classes. I would say focus more on her lectures, though. If you are good at memorization, you're set
