Great math teacher, easy to understand and explains everything you need to know. Lots of quiz grades, but are easy if you show up and offers extra credit as long as you are in class.

I think she's one of those teachers that you have to get on her good side for her to be nice to you-but once you do, she can be really helpful and kind. Kissing up is highly recommended ;)

amazing teacher. makes sure you REALLY understand everything and makes the class more than just about math. really cares for the student and is definitely a mother. if you have the opportunity to take her make sure you do.

Extremely easy class. She taught the concepts well though, one of the best math profesors I've ever had. She tends to play favorites, though, and loses her patience with some students, but she is still very nice and good at teaching.

If you do the homework and go to class your pretty much gauranteed an A. Fackler gives good explanations, she is very helpful, and in general a nice lady. Any bad comments on here about her are probably from people who either didn't go to class or didn't do the homework. Take her class!

Overall excellent teacher. I despise math and dreaded takeing this course, however thanks to her I actually understood. She is very eager to help and nonthreating. She reminds me of my mom, such a sweet lady.

Extremely nice prof. Knows the material and is easy to learn from. Goes over examples and is clear about how to do them. Gives you lots of chances to help raise your grade with quizzes and homework assignments so don't miss class. If you get a chance to take her class do it. I plan on getting her for 122 if I can.

She is a great math professor. This class was review for me, but she made the class fun. She taught us new ways of doing problems to make them easier. I would recommend her. I am going to take her for MTH 122 also.

Nice Lady. Very personable and approachable. The class is pretty easy. Just don't let it get too easy for you because then you'll slack off toward the end. Do well on tests. Quizzes are alright. Random hw checks so just do it all. Bonus points given. Take advantage even if you don't think you need them.

Fackler is a very good math teacher. She is very clear and is willing to repete topics if the is some confusion. I would recommend her to anyone. If you struggle in math this is the prof to take. Review for the tests and always do the homework because she randomly check them for grades (besides, it's good practice). Fackler is a great prof!!!!

Fackler is a great teacher, this lady knows what shes doing and if you get a bad grade in her class its your own fault. She has all open book, open note quizes and her exams are not very hard, i recieved 100% on all 3 exams and 102% on the final, obviously its not that hard.. its just lazy people

She is willing to stop and spend all the time you need if you're struggling, she is fun and doesn't necessarily always have to focus on math, she explains things step by step in the easiest way possible. She's helped me to understand things I never got in high school. I like her a lot.

Amazing. First math class I have ever taken that not only did I do well in but understood! She can go fast but she is so easy going and sweet you just ask and she clarifies and slows down or caters to you. You always get out early too so good grades and more time in the day!!!

I really recommend Professor Fackler for Math 110. I had no interest in math prior to this class, I was actually really terrible at it, but her clear teaching and expectations were very helpful and I got a B. She is also incredibly kind and she really cares about her students.

Professor Fackler was the one of the best math teachers I have ever had. She has a love for teaching and was always asking us how we were and how our weekend was. She is always willing to help students during her office hours.

SHE KNOWS HER STUFF. She was very clear when teaching and always made sure everyone understood what she was teaching. There are a lot of opportunities to raise your grade with in class assignments and pop quizzes, but then again don't miss too much class or your grade will drop (like mine) because you miss those assignments.

Mrs. Fackler was a good teacher, but she wasn't really a nice person. She acts like she is, but she calls people stupid in front of the class. She just doesn't have the patients for people who need ask questions in class.

While Tish covers material quickly, she is always more than willing to meet outside of class to answer questions and go over tests or whatever you need help with. She gives partial credit too, which has saved my grade in the class! She's one of the best teachers I've had at GV; she actually cares about her students and is always willing to help!

Bottom line- best math teacher i have ever had. Very helpful, cares about her students, if the class does not understand a concept she will take the time to review it further. I HATED math prior to this class, but she made the subject fun. Attendence is recommended (though not required) as she randomly collects homework for quizz grades.

I loved this professor. I loved her teaching style and while she can come across as rude, she was VERY helpful. As long as you go to class and do your homework, you should pass this class easily.

Fackler is a good professor. She explains the content clearly, is organized, and knows her stuff. Homework is a very big part of the class, but it maybe like that for all 122 courses. She was very picky and could be a little rude at times. However, her pros really do outweigh the cons. I would recommend her.

She's condescending, but she's very thorough, you'll get an A if you work hard. And she won't sugar coat things- she's kind of like the vegetables of the teaching world; she's not fun and sweet, but she's good for you, and you'll learn a lot.

She seems nice the first week but then the true witch comes out. She is not helpful at all and makes you feel really dumb. I asked a question during class and she told me that that was an easy problem and told me I should know how to do it very rudely. I do NOT like her as a teacher or a person at all.

Stay on her good side by participating in class and doing the homework. She can be rather strict with those who don't care, but she is also a real sweetheart to those who are respectful and work hard. Mrs. Fackler explains the lessons well and is very helpful.

Best math professor I've ever had. Just do all the work that you're assigned and you are good to go. She doesn't ask much from you, considering you are in college now. Extremely easy class, makes things ridiculously easy. Just do the homework and you should be fine. Easy tests and quizzes. Only negative is that she can be condescending to students who ask questions when it's obvious they didn't pay attention to the original lecture.

Not the worst professor ever, but not necessarily the greatest. Personality-wise, she's sweet and tries her best to connect to students. Her lectures are thorough and explained well. However, she's a VERY strict grader. She'll randomly hand out quizzes or collect homework, so try not to miss class. Take good notes and seek help when needed.

I found to her be a very good mathematics teacher. I am weak in mathematics and she made it easy to understand. Gives bonus points on exams and a decent amount of extra credit. She's a strict grader though. If she asks for the equation remember to include f(x)= cause she's a stickler for that. She gives 12 quizzes and drops 2. Most are group based.

Prof Fackler has been my best math teacher at Grand Valley. She is very helpful especially if you go to office hours! I would have not done good in this class if it wasn't for going to her office. Drops 2-3 lowest quizzes and replaces lowest test grade w your exam grade if you do better on the final. Very nice lady, highly recommend.

literally i only went to class for the tests. she treats everyone like they're in middle school and uses the book heavily. easiest class I've ever taken, so regardless of the prof you'll be fine. she drops your 4 lowest quiz grades and the final grade takes the place of your lowest test. nice lady.

I hate math, but this class was honestly great. She's a great professor and truly cares how her students are doing. She makes the classroom atmosphere very comfortable and is super outgoing. Learning the material is super easy because of the way she teaches. Great professor.

Prof Fackler was great! She would stop and clarify anything that you may have a question on and her office hours were always open to anyone who needed a little more help! I would recommend her to anyone who doesn't really understand Math!

ALWAYS show every bit of your work on quizzes or you won't get full credit. She's great if she likes you, but don't get on her bad side. Do the assigned homework and you will pass with ease.

Tish was awesome. I had her for 110 and 122. I hated math before her classes, but now I don't mind it at all. She is a tough grader, but that helps you in the long run. I loved Professor Fackler! Although she is retiring and will no longer be at Grand Valley she was still an amazing professor. Professor Fackler was incredibly clear and had answers for all questions. She really understood her students thinking process.
