made the class super easy, easy to understand and goes over examples in depth (sometimes too in depth), exams have examples from homework and reviews. also really nice when asking for help.

I accidentally signed up for this class without taking 110 so I was totally lost...But she was always open for asking questions and is SO nice and I actualy found myself enjoying the class. I would definitely recommend her!

She is the best teacher for stats, she always explains everything and makes sure everyone understands it. She is an easy grader as long as you keep up with your homework and show up you will be fine! I highly recommend her.

The way she teaches makes this class very easy. It's nice to have a professor that's this approachable!

She is definitely very friendly and helpful to anyone that wants to ask her questions. I enjoyed her so much, I actually changed my minor to Statistics and gained her as my advisor. I am also now taking my third class with her. You just want to be sure you attend every class for the notes.

Professor Hooks is awesome! She is the nicest professor ever and I loved her class. I dreaded stats at first, but it actually became one of my favorite classes. Overall, it is pretty easy. She stresses concepts more than formulas, so it's a good class for those that are not very good at math. Take her if you can!

This professor was so helpful. Its good to attend class, but she'll help outside class if you need anything. There is no book but her online notes are just like the assignments and gives you an example test before both exams. Highly recommend

Professor Hooks is a great teacher. When I first had to take statistics I was not impressed. She made statistics fun, relevant, and I still have my notes from her class so I can use JMP. I would recommend her 100%.

She is pretty much the great professor in the STATS department besides Malone. For an A, its a lot of work but you will not fail the class. She can go in depth on things and be confusing at times. Other than that she is a awesome and makes the class interesting and tells what you need to know and she does not beat around the bush.

Tisha is a great professor! Very approachable and willing to help if you have questions. Gives out random in class assignments so attendence is pretty much neccessary if you want an A. No textbook required, which was awesome--save lots of $$. Would definitely take her again (and I am NOT a math person)!!!

Kind of a bad semester to be taking her because she had to leave mid semester for a few weeks. otherwise she was a great prof. was willing to help you, especially during office hours. no book was required, so that was nice. also gave take home for parts of the exams.

Tisha is the nicest professor I have ever had. She wants all of her students to do well and tries to make things easy. STATS can be a complicated subject, but she helps you understand it. I would recommend taking Tisha for STATS 110 over anyone else!

Great Professor!!! Not interested and math at all. She realizes that its probably a mandatory class for most and she makes it easy for her students. She wants them to succeed! AWESOME!!

AMAZING, loved her from day 1. TAKE HER, esp. if you're not a math person - she totally gets it. Emphasizes concepts rather than nit-picking & shows you know more about Stats than you realize. She is the most organized, consistent and clear professor I've ever had (I'm a junior). NO surprises with her. Friendly, always willing to help and wants you to succeed.

If you can't get Malone, take Hooks for sure! She explains things very well, puts copy of the notes online (you'll have to show up to class to fill in the blanks). Tests are not hard, and she lets you use an 8x11 cheat sheet on them. I am TERRIBLE at math, and am doing well in this class. Take her for stats.

Tisha is a great professor. She makes stats very easy to understand. She more then willing to help out if you need extra help. She doesn't use a textbook.

NO BOOK! savees money! Smart, very helpful when needed, offers to help through email, office hours and in class. Never taken stats before heard it was hard and i have been right under an A the whole course so she makes it fairly easy. Gives Extra Credit so thats really nice and its EASY EC! Take Hooks :D

Very Helpful! Always willing to help you out if you need help. If you go to class everyday and do the online homework you will do very well. I really liked this class! No textbook, just online homework and you use your laptop a lot (so bring it to class!).

Tisha is an excellent teacher, and one of my favorite teachers at Winona State. Math is not my favorite class, but she makes class really interesting and is always willing to help and wants kids to do well. She is very generous with her grades

Tisha is the best stats professor at WSU. She doesn't use a textbook, instead having you print off notes and fill them in during class. She does assign homework and quizzes, but if you go to her office, she is more than happy to help you. She also gives as many attempts as needed on the d2l quizzes. She really wants her students to succeed!

Very easy course, gives you multiple study materials for the test and you get to have a cheat sheet with whatever you want on it. I highly recommend her.

I'm a Statistics Major so this class was easy for me. Tisha is an AMAZING professor. Wants you to succeed. She doesn't use a textbook, you print out notes and take them on there. D2L Quizzes have unlimited tries and homework is simple and not often. Exams are also easy and you can use a sheet of notes. Would recommend.

Attendance is not mandatory but most of the time there is something to submit, you can always talk to her about stuff whether HW or just questions about tests. She's very helpful and you get real life examples. I think this course is now STATS. Take it if you can, very insightful.

Tisha is a phenomenal professor. She truly cares about her students and wants everybody to get a good grade in the class. There are only 3 Exams the whole year, including the Final. Her lectures are very clear and she makes everything easy to understand.

I loved Hooks! I usually hate math and was terrified to take a college-level math course, but she made it way easier than I expected it to be. Her notes were clear, study guides were helpful, and the note sheet on tests was a lifesaver. She's really friendly and cares about her students. If you can take her!

she only gives about 3 tests for the entire semester which are difficult if you don't study. however, you get a week to review and practice the material in class. if you're lost she will always make it easier for you to understand. there is also homework which is turned in for points. i took this class and got an A, so i would definitely take again

Dr. Hooks is amazing! Great teacher and is willing to help you both in and out of class. She gives you a lot of time to work during class in case you have any questions which was really helpful. You work in groups a lot so choose your seat wisely! There was no textbook, she provided reading material. Overall, great class!! I highly recommend her.

I was terrified to take a college level math class my first semester. That being said, I could not have made a better choice! Tisha is so friendly and so chill, and makes learning statistics interesting. She teaches with relevant topics rather than out of a textbook. Easy homework assignments and tests are fine as long as you show up to class.

Not my favorite class, but Dr. Hooks made it interesting. She is willing to help, but you have to ask. No textbook, she will provide the readings, homework, and practice problems. Show up and pay attention to the notes is my biggest tip. DON'T just memorize the content, but learn how think critically and analytically because her tests require critical thinking. I enjoyed the class and I'm happy i took her.

Dr. Hooks is a total gem! She makes class fun, even though she lectures for almost the whole time. Class can get a tad long because of that, but she gives you all the notes and works out problems during class, so you can just follow along in the packets. Best Stats professor in Winona State

She gives has two tests which are really easy. She also gives out two take home tests as well, which are slightly harder. She gives out the notes in class, so you do have to show up to get those notes. She's really nice and a pretty easy grader as well.

Tisha is the best Stat prof option. She makes everything super simple and goes at a slow pace. She gives lots of extra credit opportunities, however don't think that you can just show up and pass. You have to do well on assignments and tests if you wanna get a good grade.

Tisha is super cute, and very easy to talk to. Clear on what she wants, no cumulative final. No TB, she makes notes herself and you print them off (5 ch total). Very open and willing to help. Understands that students are busy and have other classes. Extra credit opportunities. Her A is a 92%. I would take her again, very nice and I learned a lot.

Tisha is a wonderful professor! She has so many extra credit opportunities towards the end of the semester in order to help you with your grade. Her tests are long, but if you do the homework and practice problems, the tests won't be hard and you will fly by the test. You get a cheat sheet for each test too. No Textbook needed!! TAKE TISHA

Tisha is a real gem. Stats was very difficult for me, but she helped me understand it. She is always willing to explain things differently for those who didn't understand it the first time. Be prepared to do a lot of work in this class like quizzes and homework every week. I got D's on two tests but still passed the class with a B.

I think Tisha is very knowledgeable & a wonderful teacher. However, she isn't a teacher for everyone. I am someone who struggles a lot with math in general & I found her class to be really challenging. I believe the program usage in class made it really hard for me to grasp the concepts in the class. I think that method works for some but not all.

Professor Hooks is seriously one of the best professors at WSU. She is accessible outside of class and works with you on things you don't understand. She wants you to pass. There is extra credit almost every week and three exams total. I would recommend her to everyone who needs to take a statistics class.

She has unlimited attempts on all quizzes and dozens of practice problems with solutions. The only warning I would give is avoid online classes as her video lectures are less than stellar. overall cares about her students

I have not wrote down a single note from her class because she explains in a way that I will remember the first time(or if not I can go back & re-watch her lecture videos) She cares about her students &wants them to succeed. Very sweet professor. 1/2 of content is learned through videos and practice problems in advance out of class, then she lectures about the content in class. Quizzes are straightforward, tests you get a paper to use for it. Frequent in-class exercises with groups graded on completion. Drops lowest hw, quiz, in-class exercise grade at end of semester.

Tisha is very professional and always willing to work with you. You can absolutely tell how much she cares about her students and seeing the succeed. A lot of work is done outside of class and watching videos so she focuses on how well you understand the content in class and is really helpful and made the class fun and enjoyable!

Tisha is an amazing professor who truly cares about her students. I was not looking forward to taking Stats110 in the beginning of the year, but it quickly changed to be my favorite class (and I'm not even a math major). I would recommend Tisha to every student who needs to take Stats110.

A really good teacher, and I would 100% recommend her. She wrote the textbook herself so she really understands the material, so don't be afraid to ask her questions. She can explain things in many different ways to help you understand and her lecture videos are also posted if you need to revisit a topic. She is one of my favorite teachers at WSU.

She allows retakes of previous exams at the end of the semester and a cheat sheet. Her teaching style is easy to follow and hands-on, so you end up doing well in her class because it becomes ingrained in your head.

Tisha is the GOAT. Hands down one of the best professors you can take at WSU. There are 3 noncumulative exams, 20+ (unlimited attempts) small quizzes, 9 homework assignments, and about 12 in-class activities. Just come to class prepared and you will be fine. Tisha goes out of her way to ensure that her students are successful.

She is such an amazing professor. At first, I didn't like stats but she somehow made it better. She knows what she's doing and is super sweet and understanding. Make sure to study for the exams and go over ALL THE NOTES before taking the 3 exams. I highly suggest taking her practice exams because they're very similar to the actual exams.

Tisha was good teacher, She tries to help all her students and when It come down to it she is very understanding and that her students have lives besides her class. She offers practice problems a lot and made her own work videos and it was helpful. Although I personally didn't do well in her class, I think it was a me problem and not a her problem.

I had no idea what was going on in this class at all, not to the fault of Professor Hooks, but to my brain that doesn't comprehend stats. Still, I passed because she is very clear on what she expects in this class. She is always willing to help and allows you to retake exams. She usually has videos for when you miss a lecture which are helpful.

She cares about what she does and takes her time to explain things, she reached out to me various times during the class to check in and acknowledge me for my effort, and she was very accessible. there is a lot of content but that is expected for a summer course.
