Mrs. Lackey was great! She really connects with her students and is very open. She brings up real life examples and made the class interesting. All you have to do is attend - she is really BIG on that!! She gave one pretty hard midterm, two speeches and a final project. If you make the effort you can easily get an A.

Lackey is a really fun instructor. She engages the entire class and creatse a friendly atmosphere-great for students that are nervous speaking in front of a crowd. Mrs. Lackey came highly recommended by one of my friends and they were spot on. She is a great speech teacher, and is great at making people feel at ease when making their speeches. The only problem I found with this course, is that she can sometimes be a little too understanding, and some students take advantage of this.

Will not need textbook. Can take notes for everything you need and will do a test review beforehand. Speeches are on topics of your individual interests. Speeches are 3-5 minute requirement. Follow the outlines and it's a super easy class. First portion of class before midterm is the textbook outline and second half is all speeches.

Very understanding and helpful professor! If you are nervous about public speaking at all, she will work with you and make it as calm and not stressfull as possible. One test: 100 questions, all vocabulary. 3 formal speeches, and 2 lightly graded presentations. One of the better classes I have taken!

We all got along in class due to her leadership. Engaging; good communicator; student-oriented. Uses power point and gives you time to take notes before the next slide.

Be sure to not move too much during speeches, she seems to dislike that, but she gives great feedback on how to become a better speaker.

The first unit/lesson was very homework heavy and the due date came very quickly. After that it was a breeze. I literally talked about random things for my second speech and got a 94. Keep in mind this was an online, summer class.

She's a really great professor. If you're new to college or haven't been in school for a while, I'd take her class first. The vibe is really easygoing and relaxed and she offers to be a reference for work, scholarships etc (even if she doesn't remember you lol like me) Great teacher. Only bad thing is group project. Tish allows you to bring out the best in yourself. She is non judgmental and very open. She genuinely loves her students and if I could take this course again I would. Her class really helped me open up because she's an awesome professor. I won't say that this class is an Easy A because I barely got a B but I got A's in Algebra, Economics, History, and Biology. If you don't procrastinate you will get that A because she will work with you and help you out with anything you need.

If you want an east A, then take this class!!! As long as you complete your assignments and the quizzes and your two speeches, youll be fine. Each lesson you have to complete an written assignment ( as long as you try) and complete an quiz. You have to complete 2 outlines that cover your two speeches you have to do. Very easy!

I took her class 2 or 3 times. Well, it took me 2 or 3 times to finish her class. After leaving the Army I became a non-social person. I could not stand up in front of people to give a speech or presentation, without an anxiety attack. Professor Lackey greeted me every time with open arms and helped me get through it. She was the best.

All of Mrs. Lackey's syllabus' were easy to understand. Her requirements were clear. Open note quizzes were very simple. I am not someone who is very tech-savvy but her instructions were sufficient for the online class. She was very easy to get a hold of and nice. She made a summer class enjoyable even if it was a short time frame.

By far one of the best professors at tarrant county, she is a calm and educated women. I once did a horrible job on my first presentation and she came talked to me personally and helped me to be successful for the rest of the semester.

There are two recorded speeches that you must do to pass, but not bad for a speech class. She was also only ever a text away if you needed help and grades on time!

MS LACKY WAS THE MOST WONDERFUL PROFESSOR EVER! I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE ANOTHER CLASS WITH HER. SHE IS HONESTLY THE SWEETEST PERSON YOU WILL EVER MEET AND SHE IS VERY UNDERSTANDING AND ALWAYS READY TO HELP YOU, INSIDE OR OUTSIDE THE CLASS.

Mrs. Lackey is truly an amazing professor. She really does care for her students success. If you do your work and assignments you will pass. she has to be one of the best professors here at TCC! I highly highly recommend you take her. you wont regret it!

greatest professor i have ever had. she was by far the nicest most caring teacher that i have been able to take. she truly makes her students welcomed and accepted and involves you in everything. speeches are really easy as long as you do what youre supposed to do. i would 10/10 recommend taking this class again or someone else taking it.

Didn't think I'd have fun in this class, but soon after enrolling it became my favorite class. She was my favorite professor by far. The class only has 7 speeches and does have extra credit opportunities at the end of the semester.

I was very surprised with how much I learned in this class! Projects were easy and straightforward, she gives quick, clear feedback and allows you to improve your work. Informative and Persuasive Speeches are mandatory but she gives ample time to prepare. Take her!

Professor Lackey is one of the best professors I've had. She provides her cell phone number just in case you need help or have questions. As long as you turn in everything on time you should pass this course with flying colors. There are 2 speeches that you are required to do in order to pass the course but it was nothing too difficult. Take her!

Professor Lackey is one of the best professors I have yet had. The content she teaches isn't difficult at all. She makes sure to create a comfortable environment for you to learn and recite your speeches. She also ensures that if you need any help along the way she can provide it. I would definitely take her class again.

She is one of the easiest professors I have had. She sets out expectations on assignments in the beginning. If you don't like public speaking she is willing to work with anyone. There is 5 speeches for the entire semester, two being group speeches, there is no quizzes. Gives plenty of time to write each speech and has examples.

easiest class I've taken. got a 108% but the class is point scaled. I took online. Professor is accessible outside of class and lectures are mainly ted talks and DB's. two major projects are informative and persuasive speeches. I took the maymester class and it was about 4-6 assignments due each week. I suggest taking her for an easy class !!

Professor Lackey is understanding and very kind. She was very easy to understand and made the class enjoyable. It was a good environment in her class. It was a very easy class even for a summer term.

overall class was easy i took it during the summer and everything was pretty straight forwards she does have a lot of peer feedback oriented assignments so be prepared to voice you're opinion also as an online class it is audio and recorded speech's so keep that in mind.

took the wintermester. Super easy class, it was intimidating at first because there is 5 speeches you must do. But once you finish the first two this class gets super easy. It seemed like she just gave out 100s, which was nice. Quizzes are ONE question each true or false. Super easy!

Super easy grader. You will have discussion boards, including a few discussions where you have to record a 2 minute presentation, and 2 big speeches that are at least 4 minutes long. All assignments are straight to the point and easy to do.

Amazing teacher and very helpful

I took her in the summer as an online class. Although she gave us a lot of homework, it's still possible to do it. Take her class and you won't regret it!

This was a super easy class. The quizzes were simple questions and the midterm and final were just repeat questions from the quizzes. The speeches were easy and the power points were fun to make. She was a great professor and had very clear guidelines.

She was a great professor. You can clearly tell that she cares about her classes. The work was easy and the lectures were easy to follower she's very open to her class. I would take it again.

She is really nice and so far she is very understanding of her students and tries to comfort them when they are nervous. She will help you be comfortable doing a speech.

Mrs. Lackey is very understanding and respectful. She teaches us what we need to know in communication and makes you feel comfortable when your are presenting your speech.

This professor is amazing she takes you step by step through preparing you speeches and gives clear direction on her expectations from you!!! Loves this professor work and drive to make you successful in her class

I highly recommend taking her class for speech cause she encourages you and helps find ways to ensure you present your speech even if you are afraid to give speeches. Her grading is very lacks so she isn't going to be nitpicking little or even big details when you are are giving your speeches. As long as you go up and do your speech you will pass.

Professor Lackey is straightforward with her speeches. Her rubric/criteria is clear. She gives great feedback, so I'd recommend emailing her if there's anything you need clarification for.

I took professor Lacky back in the spring 2024 and i would advise you to please take for her for either intro of public speaking or public speaking please take her she is very understanding and so sweet her assignments are super essay and her presentations last i believe up to five minutes

Professor Lackey is super encouraging and makes speeches a breeze. Easy grading, no textbook needed. Unstuck ai was a game-changer for speech prep. Definitely take this class!

By far one of my most favorite professors!! Not at all lecture heavy or test heavy. Take her if you have a chance she is so nice, caring, and sweet. She is easily accessible outside of class. I would take her over and over again if I could!

Take this Professor if you have trouble with public speaking. She is very understanding and will help you do your speeches and will allow you to present to only her she is amazing. There is no test and no class work all we had was speeches. There was group speeches and solo speeches the best part is your allowed to talk about any subject.

Loved Professor Lackey's class. I thought it would be a hard course to pass, but she proved me wrong. Learned a great deal about doing speeches and applied it in another class I was taking at the time. would highly recommend.

Lackey was just increadible this semester, she really proved that a course does not have to be insanely difficult in order to learn a lot.

Professor Lackey was very easy, respected, and fair towards everyone. Assignments are fun because all you have to do is talk for 3-5 minutes or 4-6 depending on speech. if you have social anxiety she will also make everyone turn around so she is very caring as you can see. Always have up to 3 sources for your speeches besides the introduction. :)

First, Mrs. Lackey is an incredible person. She shows her humanity and that helps with the anxiety of speaking in front of people. Truly one of my favorite people I've been able to meet, ever. 100% you should take her. There are 2 group and 3 solo speeches. Her criteria is very clear. Just follow what she says to do and you will do great!

Miss Lackey is so so great, I would definitely take her course again and again. If you follow instructions and actually put in the effort, you will do absolutely well. She is clear in her grading criteria; she will not just give you points if you do not do the work. Overall, she made public speaking less scary for me, and I really loved the class.

The entire class is based off of presenting. I would not want any other professor for a speech class other than her. Shes literally so open minded when it comes to your presentations and she grades fairly. Even if your introverted she let's it slide sometimes. Her life story is also interesting, good to talk to! Take her class!

Most kind woman you will ever meet I would 100% take her class again she does her best to make you feel comfortable if you are shy.She grades fairly you will have group presentations but even then she grades fairly.

Don't take her class if it pertains to your degree. Very easy and as long as you do it you're fine.
