I used to love psych.... I don't know about now. Assignments were graded unfairly with very specific rubrics (that weren't specific enough?)... expect a failing grade on them. The class had two midterms and one final exam that were all manageable (another midterm might be better than the 2 assignments). Ornstein was not accommodating with AAS.

This prof terrible. Shes rude, gives no direction and lacks knowledge to answer Qs in a way that makes sense. She will ramble, realize shes not sure what shes talking about, and continue rambling about whatever she can to convince us she is knowledgable. She needs a reality check. This prof makes me question the credibility of all psychologists

The professor is so cold and unsympathetic that it makes me think that she just doesnt care. She will put questions on test that she never reviewed or mentioned in lectures. Seems like she likes to trick students and not teach them. Her teaching is not exciting at all. Not everyone is meant to teach.

Prof Ornstein is, without a doubt, an unreasonably hard marker. The majority of the class failed our first written assignment, and she saw no apparent issue with this. It would be one thing if this was an advanced-level psychology course, but it was PSY 102, literally the introductory course for Psychology. I cannot be more in disapproval of her.

She is by far the most difficult marker I have yet to see. I am in my final year of undergrad so when I tell you she is unreasonable, I am NOT lying. She is not considerate whatsoever and marks EXTREMELY hard. I feel bad for any first year Psych students taking her class. If I was in first year, I would've straight up considered dropping out.

Worst professor I ever had in my 4 year university career. Treating this first year course as a final year course. PSY 102 is an amazing course if you are looking to learn about psychology, unless you are taking it with this prof..... Her marking is inconsistent and does not make any sense. I recommend any professor, even Chegg, anything but her.

WORST PROF EVER!!! Her assignments and test difficulties do not make any sense. She is by far one of the most unreasonable difficult marker I have ever seen. I would rather ask a rock for feedback for my assignments than asking her. Doesn't even know how to answer questions when asked by students. All in all never take any course she teaches.

Prof. Ornstein was available when I needed her and she spoke to me outside of class hours. The course format was clear and she reviewed it with us. I really enjoyed the material. I studied a lot because I want good grades. The tests were straightforward. I would take another class with Prof. Ornstein.

She seemed like a nice person. Lectures weren't recorded & she didn't seem that tech-savvy. Tough grader on assignments/essays & not much constructive feedback received. The discussions were good and the videos shown in class were interesting. Many students in the class were kind of quiet and shy which was a bit annoying but that wasn't her fault.

Sheesh. Took an A student to their knees. I'm on track for a B/B- finish if I do okay on the exam, but with the way she's been I don't expect to. Tough grader, and super dry lectures. They were three hours and if you aren't checked out mentally by the second you're a superhuman.

Worst prof ever, seriously. Avoid at all costs. Marks like she wants you to fail on the assignments, very cold. Tests aren't too bad if you somehow consume all the stuff she just doesn't elaborate on in lectures, but the assignments are made to ruin grades. They seem deceptively easy but she marks them genuinely cruelly.

She didn't give good feedback and was disorganized. Participation mattered and the discussions were the best part of the course. However, about halfway through, there were only presentations, which made participation marks harder to receive as many presentations were closed-ended and questions seemed rather forced than genuine.

I don't understand the negative reviews of this prof. In my experience, she made the best out of a boring, content heavy course. Her tests were simple, you could easily get an A without even looking at the textbook. She's a standard marker on assignments, so no complaints there. Her assignments were even kind of easy, as one wasn't a paper.

Tisha Ornstein seems like a kind and sweet person, however the course itself was so dry and boring. I enjoyed the amount of videos she provided as it helped me learn, but the tests are pretty much all textbook content and you have to know it all. I've never read this much for a course in my life. Even so, I did pretty poorly on all the exams.

I have never received a grade as low as I did in Dr.Ornsteins' class, especially since I read the textbook, did the practice questions, and attended every lecture. Her exams are horrifically difficult and never based on material she taught in class, she just shows videos instead of teaching. Huge waste of $1200 and a space on my transcript.

I basically taught myself majority of the material because she decides to never finish a lecture, she plays more videos than teach as the semester goes on. This prof would test you on a lot of YouTube videos that she played in class. She often ended class early despite not finishing the content for that week. The exam questions were worded weirdly and were often confusing. I finished the course with 89.4 and when I asked if she could round me by 0.1% she refused, despite always showing up to class.
