Great in lecture (funny). Be sure and ask questions, He very definitely knows his stuff and will explain anything. Exams are comprehensive. Good note taking a must.

This is someone who wants to see his students do well. He is passionate about oceanography and really knows his stuff. The Oceanography LAB was one of the hardest classes that I have ever taken but he realized that and went easy on me. I would HIGHLY recomend taking the LAB with a friend. This is an intesting class and an excellent teacher.

GREAT teacher!!! Best teacher ive ever had. I took the summer class, and got an A in both the lecture and the lab. If you study, you'll do well in the class. He gives study guides that are of great help. It'll be easier on you if u take the lecture and the lab at the same time. I found the class very interesting, and i highly recommend it.

He is such a great teacher. he takes alot of pride in teaching and really makes it interesting. You can ask him any question and he will know the answer. I highly suggest you take him. All notes are done in power point so its really helpful.

Dr. T, is super nice and a really great teacher. I am not a fan of science in general so it was hard for me to get interested in the subject, but he gives wonderfull lectures and his tests are based on lectures and handouts. If you have to take Ocean definately take it with Dr. T. He is such a sweet teacher

Dr. T makes learning fun. He's well organized and makes use of every classroom minute. He's funny, give wonderful suggestions for studying and is a professional, caring person.

He's great. He's very helpful, and easy going personality. He's makes science very interesting. If you show up to class everyday and write all the notes he gives, it's an easy A or at least B. If you get can't pass his class, you are not going to the class everyday. If you are considering these classes, just take it and enjoy.

Took his class and the lab at the same time, and let me just say, he is incredible. He has an accent, but remains clear and also extremely patient in my opinion. Great science/lab class to take, you wont regret it!

This is a man who loves teaching, he's hilarious, and I agree with the below, if you blew this class you have some SERIOUS mental issues. He gives study guides and if you do the work you will pass. Don't talk in class unless its contributing to the conversation though - no exceptions. The more you put in the more youll get out of this class.

I found the teacher very good, but for someone that is older like myself and 2 other student in their 40's and 50's, it was a lot of information to absorb.With each chapter having 20-35 review questions, and we covered 4 chapters in 3 1/2 weeks or so and a test every 3 weeks, I found it too much information. He does pick favorites.

Great, Great teacher. Even if you know nothing about oceanography you will understand everything no problem. No textbook, just a twenty dollar study guide with lots of review questions. Study the review questions, do the extra credit you will be fine.

Mr. Munasinghe is bomb! He knows how to punch jokes. Although his class had so many information to take in all through the semester, he makes it interesting. The tests are pretty long and requires a lot of memorization. He gave some extra credit. I learned a lot in his class. Go ahead and take him, just make sure you actually study.

I took both the class and lecture for Oceanography. Overall, Mr. Munasinghe is a very helpful teacher but his class covers new material everyday so be sure to be there all the time. His tests are very hard and require a lot of studying but he offers extra credit work.

I had him for both Oceanography Lab and Lecture, I loved both classes. At first I was pretty lost, but he helps you as long as you ask questions, he loves questions. He is a very nice, funny, intelligent, and helpful professor. One of my favorite classes, ever.

His class was easy the first half of the semester but got increasingly hard because we began rushing through material. There is no book - just his handouts, which give all the main-points of what you need to know. The test are mult choice - expect to literally have to remember everything. The final is cumulative, & attendance is strict. Not Easy!

My favorite teacher! Most ppl are taking the class for the credit& he knows that so he makes it fun. he has a lot of quizzes, but there only a few q's about 1 ch- which are only like 3 pages max. I was doing rly good and then started slacking and he took me aside to help after class. he rly cares about his students. read his ch and youll get an A

Dr. M is a great guy; you can tell he really cares. The required text (which is written by him) is around $25 at the bookstore. Expect several exams of moderate difficulty, as well as field trips to Royal Palms for extra credit. Dr. M loves answering questions and giving individual feedback. His class, while not the easiest, is satisfying to pass!

Such a great teacher! I hate science, but he made it fun! He does lecture a lot, but he uses power point with lots of examples to explain the subject. He really cares about you passing. Has a field trip to the coast. Makes you work for your grade. If you're shy of next letter grade he bumps you up. Doesnt use the text but has his own and its cheap.

He really cares about his students! He's a great professor and his exams are pretty hard but they were open note. His homework assignments were very easy and straight forward. He goes on field trips for extra credit and always tries his best to be mindful and helpful for his class. I would definitely take a class with him again!

The thing that i love the most about this professor is his dry humor. His book, is something that he made himself and is not expensive at all, and offered in the bookstore. He offers extra credit for attending field trips however if you are in the Lab class where it is mandatory, you cant get credit for both classes. so take them separately.

Lots of field trips, lots of extra credit for answering questions in class. so raise your hand often. sit in the front, he calls on people front to back. Lab book is one he wrote and very cheap to buy. Good instructor, great humor.

I'm considering a major in marine sciences so I'm a bit biased, but he was awesome. I did ocean lecture and lab with him, and he made everything interesting. The lab is best if you have a friend in the class, as there was some partner and group work. The material was understandable and he took us on field trips to the beach. Gave good extra credit.

Prof. Munasinghe is, hands down, one of the best professors at harbor. He is HILARIOUS and loves his students. He wants you to pass the class and makes quizzes and exams as easy as possible. Takes notes and use his study guide/textbook it's super helpful. Don't miss out on an easy and fun "A." P.S. He has the best jokes!!

Amazing professor! Would recommend anybody to take him. Class lectures are really interesting and he is pretty funny himself. Quizzes every week but open notes and tests about every other week and based on the same quizzes. He does give out 30 points of extra credit on field trips. Make sure to show up to class and take good notes. Easy to pass.

Tissa expects you to know a lot, but not to memorize a whole lot. He always goes into detail to make sure that you actually understand the material. He also puts a lot of effort into the class and really cares for all of his students and their success. One of the best teachers at LAHC and I would recommend him to everybody.

He is a very thorough and clear professor, tells you what he expects you to learn for quizzes and tests, and is willing to work with the class to help us learn. He keeps lectures interesting enough and is more than willing to answer any questions you have for him. There is no textbook so use his study guides and review the quizzes.

I recommend taking the lab with a friend, study for his lecture and it will be easy A! You will have lots of fun in both ocean classes. He makes science fun!

Basically with this professor he wants to see you along with other professors succeed. You might think he is hard or boring, but its up to you. If youre interested in learning then take him otherwise dont because you will find him boring, forsure.

Hes a really good teacher and a very caring person and hes an easy a if you study. Also he lies alot by saying you wont get credit for this homework because you didnt do it on time and i turned it in late and i got full credit for it and then he said i was not going to pass the class but i did. Over all hes a good teacher just really stabbern.

Little to no homework. Take great notes of his PwrPnts and make sure to use his Study Guide for his quizzes and for his tests because he takes most of the ?s off of them. Go to the beach for EC, its an easy 20 pnts., and it gives you an advantage on one of his tests. The class is tough but if you put in the work youll pass. Hes great!

he was amazing when we were on campus but with the covid transition online, it got difficult really quick. it became hard to follow along with his study guides, making it hard to get anything more than an 80 on his tests. he seemed like a sweet and caring professor on campus but it seems like a diff story online:/ but at least there was no hw!

Professor Munasinghe is the best! You can get an easy A by just following his syllabus, pay attention to his lecture videos, and you will need to participate in discussions. I was disappointed with myself, I missed my final. I emailed him and I took full responsibility, I believe he knew I was on top of everything and gave me a 2nd chance. CARING

Professor Munasinghe's online class is great! The lecture are detailed, easy to follow, and the professor uses interesting animations to make them more entertaining. You don't need the book if you study the review worksheets and your lecture notes. If you put in the time studying, this class is an easy A. I would definitely recommend this course!

I took Oceanography Lab class only because it's mandatory for my Bachelor's degree. This class is a SCIENCE lab so therefore not the easiest subject but with some EFFORT on your part, can pass this class. This professor is ALWAYS available for questions, concerns and for more understanding on lectures. No excuse not to pass his class. Good class!

Took this class at the start of cover so it turned online halfway through. But his lectures before that were good and tests were on scantron in person. Would i have gotten a B if it wasn't covid? Possibly, but im glad i got my B.

Dr. M is the most amazing science professor. He gives great lectures and great review questions. I enjoyed his online class and the positive feedback. He wants his students to learn and understand the material in science. The class field trips learning about the ocean was amazing. Read the book, study the lectures, and review questions.

Took this lecture class in person. The professor is very nice, approachable, and knowledgeable in his field. He is willing to go out of his way to help students, you just need to ask first. Very little homework if not at all, but don't slack off since tests will matter more. You get a 3x5 note card for tests and the final! I highly recommend him.

Overall great professor. Very clear on the material, grading criteria and very easy to talk to. Everything in tests is from quizzes and review questions he gives (w/ answers) . Uploads each lecture. An easy class in oceanography if you need a physical sciences class on your transcript and do not plan to pursue the discipline at a UC. The class was taught using lectures from 2020 and there were no hard deadlines for completing assignments, quizzes or exams and the lowest grades on each are not considered in determining the grade for the course.
