awesome
easy going guy, very kool, tests are ehh.. but it can be easy if u kno how to work the system ;)
Great teacher, knows his stuff. Enjoys his job, extremely helpful and approachable.
Great instructor, makes history interesting.
his lectures are very interesting. He also gives a bunch of the actual test questions as a study guide before the test. He is very accomidating with your schedule. Tests are kind of hard, you definitly have to read the book.
He seems to be to opinionated on his own perspective. Resulting in questionable test questions.
He is a really great teacher and very understanding seriously take his class.
He's a cool and easy going teacher but make sure you study hard for the tests
Not a fun class. Wanted to go to sleep throughout all of it. Tests are hard and his study guides arent thorough enough. He doesnt tell you what to study before the tests and he didn't motivate me to learn.
you have togo to class. Listen and take notes....doesn't write anything on the board. he is so boring! Test have nothing to do with his lecture...it's a horrible class. do not Take it.I dropped today. haha, he sucks don't listen to any of these people on here. I did, look where i am
Great teacher, entertaining lectures. Work is virutally non-existent. 4 or so tests all year and one four page (double-spaced) paper. You will have to read if you want A's on the tests. But I didnt and got B's by just paying attention in class.
Professor Keville gives good lectures about world history for good notetaking and listening. On the other hand, there's never a chance to do any classwork or group activities that may motivate us to learn in a helpful way. Plus, whenever we have to ask a simple question about what we've learned in c
He is sometimes boring, his lectures relate to the material somewhat. His tests are 80 questions, which is sometimes challenging. Study guide have 20 questions on the test.
Sometimes boring, he gives pre-test that sort of help. Participation is important. Not helpful.
If you can't pass this class, you shouldn't bother with college. Keville is a nice guy, just talk to him, and show you are interested, and you will do fine. There is so little work in this class, its hilarious! If you have problems with this class, it is your own fault.
Ok guyz, i will answer all of your questions right now. I hate history, I didn't Study, I NEVER read the book, and i barely even looked at my notes. The only thing that i actually did do was the paper and i got a "C" in his class. For the tests he would average out test score and grade on a curve.
Informative yet opinionated lectures. Funny guy. Must go to a museum for term paper. Study guide has around 20 questions of the test. Majority of test questions come from helper website that comes with the book. He highly advocates that you use this website. Easy class overall.
funny dude, great story teller --> fun class, most of the time. he gives both scantron and essay tests, but not both at the same time. there are also video write-ups and and an essay on a museum visit.
This class was insanely easy. I ditched a bunch and still got an A. The teacher is pretty nice, easy to talk to. He gives out study guides with questions that are on the test, and doesn't give out a lot of assignments.
This guy is great, only extremely lazy people would say somthing wrong about him. He make History fun.
u must pay attention! i never really did and got confused in the end but still ended up doin good in the class. his tests are fine, he talks all class, never gives hw every now n then we'll write an essay on a video, like 2 times.. n other than that no work except to visit a museum n write a paper on it. He's willin to help, but doesnt like talkers
ok firstly:Thank God he wasn't teaching english cuz ya'll needs to learn how to spell. For realz...and I'm using colloquialisms not typos so shut up. I mean it was aiight and all I needed an A, and I didn't get one so I wasn't too thrilled. He was alright, but a little mundane and the whole pesudo hipster-black thing was a tad perturbing He's good
I love everything about this class. Prof. Keville is a great teacher and he is extremely funny. I will most definitely miss having his class, but I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend his class to anyone! But just be sure to study for the tests and read the chapters.
very laid back, funny teacher. do the extra credit, and you will do fine. i would take keville again.
Dude hes a great teacher. very laid back and fun. His lectures are him talking. nothing else. But hes funny and very easy and gets into discussions. He welcomes questions. His tests are easy. They are all essay questions. He gives us a list of like 15 topics and 10 of them will be on the test. It cant get any easier. Take him. You'll enjoy it. =)
u have to show up!!! he will give u extra points , u have to readd a lottttt !! pretend ur taking notes and thats it u will take high grades ,the test is 60 qs he gives u 15 of them u just hae to read show up and take notes he will love you for that
He is a great teacher. He practically has all of his lectures memorized. The only reason I did not do well in his class is because I did not like excessive reading and I did not like listening to a lecture for 2 hours and 30 minutes. (I took the summer class.)
Long boring lectures. 3-4 tests the whole semester. Been mean to students. Have to visit a museum and write a 4-5 pages paper. He is whatever!
the guy below me ahs the whole class in a nutshell. i didnt pay attention at all and got a c. he gives u a study guide for the test a couple classes before hand. easy going guy. we thought he had a crush on sum guy in our class. take em and dont be an idiot
This dude was so boring. He bored me to tears. he just talks and talks and talks. it never ends. i would never take him again.PLEAE take my advice. DONT TAKE HIM. TRUST ME!!!....he's not a good teacer.
4 tests drops lowest. grades on a curve. study guide is given 4 every test. TAKE HIM! Not a difficult class!
terrible teacher, the most boring teacher i have ever had, has his favorite students, and hates others, completely do not recommend this class dont take it
Very easy going and good speaker. He gives multichoice test as well as a study guide you just have to read the material.
he is very boring, i hated the way he teaches, he just mumbles everything, and just jibber jabbers about everything. hes a **** to all the guys and pretty boy to all the girls.
Incredibly informative teacher. Keville certainly knows his history, and gives you what you pay for with history 1a. Those not serious about college should not take him. True students are in for a treat as you really tell his lectures come from years of experience. Introductory history isn't super exciting but Keville is a very intelligent prof
This teacher is the greatest teacher ever. He likes students who are serious and polite. I loved his class. i believe his teaching is helpful especially coz he will stop the lecture to answer your questions. It is very helpful to take good notes. but also listen carefully, the videos are very helpful as well. RECOMMEND CLASS FOR SERIOUS. STUDENT
Great teacher. Super chill and funny. All lecture and did not write on the board at all. Tests were semi-easy if you follow his study guide. Offers extra credit but not a lot.
This professor is amazing! He gives history a whole different prospective; he makes history actually sound interesting! He doesn't write on the chalkboard, only lectures. His lectures are interesting; take good notes and read the book, and you'll be fine! I highly recommend taking his class.
Anybody who puts down Mr. Keville to be "boring" is seriously an idiot. The man lectures FROM THE TOP OF HIS HEAD. He seriously knows events and dates by heart. This impressive feat is your key to passing the tests as the details he notes *will* show up on those tests. In his Winter 2009 class he only had 4 (initially 3) tests. Enroll or regret it.
Mr.Keville is an excellent teacher. He is very student friendly and answers every questions.Though, me being a student from an Asian country, American History was narrated like a story. Just listen to him in class and you are certain to get an A grade. I strongly recommend him. You'll never regret.
He's not to bad of a teacher. But to be honest, he does not really care about the students when it comes to helping them out. His test are very hard & tricky, and its kinda your on your own in his class. However, there are 4 test and 3 essays, if you do bad on his test, just make sure you do well on the essays, and he will give you at least a C.
SOMETIMES BORING
this guy can really tell history, he knows his history by heart. just show up every day, take notes, make some flashcards for the test, read a little, and you've got an A in the class.
Easiest teacher other than Ms. Kato (shiota). Don't even have to study cuz he adds like 10-20% to ur test score on each test. If u earned a 70, u get a 90. He did make a habit of trashing Obama and arguing with the liberal students, but no on seemed to care and he is a chill dude. U could tell it's easy class cuz all the football players take him.
Fantastic teacher, knows his subject well and can teach it. If you have a question, he answers it clearly or will keep talking till you get it. I suggest sitting in the front where you can get to know him and get a better, personalized class experience. Offers some extra credit to bump up a grade.
Love his class! I was a little apprehensible about taking it at first when I read some of the negative comments about him, but I'm SO glad I did! He's so easy when it comes to tests, gives you 10 extra credit points or more sometimes! Lectures entirely on wat's in the book and his study guides are really helpful. I have an A in the class, take him!
EVERY TEST counts in his class, and there r 3 tests.Does offer study guides, but his formatting is not great. No homework or any other way to make up ur grade if u r down. Did offered extra credit, but i still say it would be best to check up other professors, like Eula
first of all, you rly..really.. have to be an IDIOT to be getting anything other than an A or B in his class. HE IS PROBABLY THEE EASIEST TEACHER I've taken @ Elco. His ENTIRE 3 tests are based on the study guide which he gives u, which is 100% percent identical to the EXAM. EXTREMELY EASY, and his lectures are very informative. take him, u'll see.
Easy A. Take this class if you want the units and not have to work your butt off. Like other people said, you have to be pretty dumb to not pass. 3 tests, all multi.choice. no hw. he just lectures during class. lets us out early. 2 xtra cred. takes roll. He lectures everything thats going to be on the test. Do the study!!!!! its pretty much the tes
Someone actually complained about him!? Wow..honestly this teacher is probably one of the easiest history teachers at el camino. No homework, especially writing long essays like most hist teachers, and he lectures EXACTLY what's going to be on the test. I really don't see how people can actually not get at least a B on his tests. Great teacher!
cool teacher, love this man. Superrrrr easy and knows all his material by heart.
I love teachers like Keville he is really funny The class is mainly lecture,4 tests,no final,no quizzes He does have extra credit, in case you mess up on a test I am not good at history but I managed to get a B He jokes around a lot and makes the class fun to go to He is very understanding and wants you to pass Bring a laptop for his lectures!
He is awesome! Read the chapters the details do matter but he tells you which ones matter. His not like an avg hist teacher go 2 class do hw n stuff but he tells you amazing stories that you wont find in textbk definitely a must to take him. Ex crdt is there 4 a bump. His sense of humor is gr8. Study Guides r beneficial
Took him for the summer session. He's pretty cool and funny. Even if you get a B in his class he'll bump your grade up to an A if he sees you've had perfect attendance. We only had 3 tests and watched a few movies. There's was also one extra credit assignment. Definitely take him!
no essay! i was surprised that there aren't any. my friend had to write so many. easy A class. do the study guide. review for the test. come to class for lecture or you'll miss info. lecture info = test. easy! guy knows his history!
pretty good teacher. He teaches from memory, he's funny too. There were 3 tests, a final, and two papers. If you have good attendance he does bump your grade up. Definitely read the book... he's hard to take notes from. His study guide is helpful too
I'm a history major but had put this class off for 2 years because I really didn't want to take it. I definitely made no mistake takign this teacher. I totally recommend him! you can't go wrong. He's really helpful and funny too! ahh he gets a chili pepper from me :)
I will not recommend this professor to someone who is ESL students. His lecture is orally given, so your LISTENING SKILL IS HIGHLY REQUIRED. His exam is based on the book and study guide; however, his question is quite hard to ESL students. Otherwise, He is cool!
Great Professor!Def knows his stuff. In class lectures, few movies, couple essays, attendance is mandatory, engage and he enjoys you back. Hes funny and easy to get along with. Super smart and down to earth. Really enjoyed him as a professor!
Professor Keville loves what he does & thus makes class clear & straightforward. Reading the book(s)helps you to better remember stuff, but his lectures will usually suffice. Study guides definitely prep you for the exams, so use them! 3 exams (drops the lowest score), two papers, no homework- TAKE HIM. you WILL learn but won't stress. MUST TAKE :]
Pretty cool guy. He basically teaches history by story telling. Tests aren't hard, it's just a lot of information to remember (4 chapters per test). His study guides help a lot! He has a short temper for tardiness. But sometimes he just has a short temper in general, so be prepared to get blasted if you make a statement he disagrees with.
He's a really cool guy and will tell a lot of interesting stories in the lectures that you can't find in the textbook. Lectures can get extremely boring. Entire class grade is based on tests, he gives study guides before each one. He's very Republican and doesn't try one bit have an unbiased opinion.
In Summer he has only three exams and his exam is very different from his study guides. His study guide is all questions and some are blanks but no answers. You have only one hour to take his every exam because he is very strict.
In Summer he has only 3 exams with 50 multiple-choice questions each. Also his study guide is useless because there are only questions in one big paragraph and no answers. To prepare for his exams you need listening and note-taking skills. You also need to read all of the chapters of the textbook.
HIS A PRETTY COOL GUY & FUNNY. TAKE GOOD NOTES & LISTEN TO THE LECTURE. TEST ARE EASY IF YOU READ THE BOOK, HE ALSO GIVES STUDY GUIDE WHICH HELPS. 3 TEST 50 MULTIPLE. YOU CAN DROPPED THE LOWEST ON THE FISRT 2 TEST, GIVES THEM EXTRA POINTS TOO. DOESNT USUALLY GIVE EXTRA CREDIT, BUT ASK AFTER MIDTERM, GAVE US 10 PTS FOR DOING 1 EXTRA ESSAY.
Mr. Keville is a great history teacher!!! It's very easy to get an A in his class. There are 3 test (drops lowest test score) and 2 papers that are about a page on films viewed in class. He provides study guides for each test. He makes history so interesting and does a great job or relating it to current events. You won't regret it pick him!!!!
Gives you a study guide prior to each exam. Two papers assigned based on a movie watched in class. Doesn't announce when to turn in papers clearly. NEVER uses the textbook. He's a good guy, but his lectures are scrambled all over the place.
A massive amount of information is interestingly presented in a very short time. The study guides really help focus study for exams. He helped close the huge holes I had regarding current history. Also his fact based info as it relates to economics during this time period gave me great insight. Highly recommend teacher!
His lectures were hyper conservatism that neglected plurality and demoted aspects of history. Instead of answering my questions and established a learning environment he called me name. I barely show up to class because he was targeting me for bullying. I got an A in the class because his tests were taken from the textbook publisher question bank.
I love Professor Keville. I took his class for Hist 101 in the fall and 102 in the summer. Very knowledgeable, passionate and interesting.Work hard use his study guide and you'll earn your grade. I got A's in both courses.
He talks about history like he's telling a story, so you can't really tell what chapter he is on but he makes the stories interesting. He's humorous as well. He gives studyguides with 50 questions, and his test is 50 questions too so as long as you know everything on the SG it's easy to get an A on the test. Drops the lowest test score!
he is a pretty chill prof and class. you see many films and have extra credit but its actually assignments. lecture can be boring at times. tests are multiple choice. do not recommend if you want to slack off. need books and you need to read them on your own, lots to read though.
Horrible dont listen to these reviews I did and barely passing. He always wounds up talking about nonsense his lectures and his test have nothing to do with lectures.
Worst class I've ever taken. Tests questions are vague, study guide basically says know everything, book chosen for class is terrible. He also yells at you if you ask questions. Don't take this guy if you actually want to learn anything.
Prof. Keville is very passionate about history and definitely knows what he is talking about. His lectures are packed with information. I took this class over the summer and it wasn't too bad. The class was 300 points. 3 exams worth 100 points each and then an extra credit paper. Do the study guide and take good notes!
Professor K is a good professor. Definitely knows his stuff. His tests are fair and clear if you take good notes, pay attention in class, and read the book. Definitely an easy A if you keep up with the coursework.
Prof Keville is a chill prof that lectures most of the class time. He doesn't have notes so you will write what ever he says. He'll show films and documentaries every once in a while. He gives 3 tests and 2 written assignments that aren't hard. Reading the textbooks aren't necessary. To pass the tests you just have to do the study guide. Take him.
I took a summer class so it may be different from a fall or spring class. He isn't a boring lecturer but he teaches by talking and explaining the lesson. He does talk fast which sucks if you're trying to take great notes. He does give a study guide for each test which is awesome. Overall, it is a pretty easy course to take.
Professor K is probably the most chilled out professor you will ever have. He lectures most of the class, but he is clear on the subject. Write notes and follow your study guide and you'll pass it easy. Great professor overall
Lectures are boring.
The most chill guy on the planet. The class is super easy, so as long as you have a pulse, you'll get an A. 3 tests which he'll curve if people do badly. He even dropped our lowest, so I didn't have to take the second one. Shows a couple of videos, but they're not that bad. You have to write like 2 pages for 2 of them double-spaced. Easy grader.
His class is so boring and he makes it hard to keep up with taking notes. He talks so fast and is rude
I don't understand the poor ratings here, because I thought his class was extremely informative and fun. The tests are easy if you just read the textbooks. He does cover extra things during the lecture, but I personally enjoyed it and thought it was very educational. He is super nice and really passionate about what he is teaching.
He can come off as intimidating when you ask him something, but he means well. Do not show up late on test days, he'll make you take it another day. His lectures are less slides and bullet points and more of a speech every lecture as if he were telling a story. 3 tests, drops the lowest one. 2 film analysis papers. Some EC. Overall, a funny guy.
Listen to lectures and open your book every once in a while and you should be fine. He practically gives you the test answers through the study guide. Some of his cons is that he rambles (be prepared to hear about how horrible Hillary and Obama are literally every class) and that he teaches from a hyperconservative standpoint (Muslims beware).
Tests are 50 multiple choice, and unless you study extremely hard, are pretty difficult to memorize. He likes to joke around with students and is easy to respect. However, his lectures are pretty long and it is difficult to stay focused when he talks for an hour and a half. Overall a good teacher, but has some minor drawbacks.
