Dr. Walsh is always interesting, usually pretty funny. You get 3 absences with no penalty, and coming in late = 1/2 absence. He won't put anything on the test that wasn't discussed in class. Study your notes & put thought into your essays. He's great!
You dont need to buy your book. It's all off the notes. Funny guy.
very funny guy, easy class
Wakes you up in the morning, always friendly and has a smile on his face...more profs need to have his attitude
Knows most people are just in there for the UCR credit and don't really care about the subject. He's a funny guy and class time goes fast.
Very funny guy. Interesting class. Study the old tests and your golden. Many extra credit opportunities and only ONE essay homework assignment.

He is very understanding. He wil help you out, and he hates having to give poor grades.
Its easy if you go to class, study old tests.
Easiest class. Even though eh does take attendance, only 3 exams including the final...give syou review for them...tells you to look at old tests...only 1 essay which is very short and easy...and lots of extra credit. 90% of people get an A!
THE BEST CLASS EVER! I LOVED IT AND IT WAS SOO EASY
Good class, funny guy, excellent teacher. Material is interesting and goes by fast. :)
very easy tests! just go to class and listen and you will do well. he is a funny guy.
great teacher, great class
Walsh RULES! Amazing teacher! I ENJOYED going to his class. The exams were so darn easy and Walsh is a funny professor with a passion for his subject. Incoming freshman, THIS is the class you want to take!
He is so damn cool! Very easy class, but you cant miss more than 3 times! But, it is worth the EASY A by going to class!
He's a REALLY good teacher!! As long as you go to class and pay attention in the least, you can pretty much get an A. Don't buy the book. . . waste of money. Just come to class-that is the key. Great teacher. Glad I took this class.
Class is easy, just study notes and previous tests. I never cracked my textbook.
What a cool guy! He is funny and his stories are hilarious. He does, however, ask that you treat the subject of theater with respect just as you would with a subject that interests you. Tests are basically common sense, but do take notes!
This class is so easy. If you have access to test files, there is no need to go to class; Same questions, different order. I highly recommend his class for an easy A.
Awesome teacher. Very interesting. Easy tests.
cool prof, loves teaching, very enthusiastic, very respected, easy class because he is very clear... go to every single class, study the notes, do extracredit and like me you will get a 101% average before having taken the final!
the easiest class at TCU. Dont buy the book!! I didnt open it once. Easy A. Just look over the notes and the study guide a couple of times.
Great teacher, just make sure no one dies in your family. If your out of school for a funeral he will give you a zero for days you miss and then not tell you about until after you take the final. I had a 96 test average but i got a B in the class. WTF!
The easiest class at TCU!
Extremely easy class. Don't buy the book it's a waste of money. Just study your notes and its an easy A. Don't miss more than 3 classes because he'll start docking your grade.
Awesome professor, understands that we are in here for credit and realtes theater to film and other interesting things. He has a man crush on Gene Hackman so watch out, he is in love with his acting! It is cool and funny!
Very easy. Take good notes and study the review sheet. He sometimes talks about himself too much, but he's funny and entertaining.
EVERYONE LISTEN TO ME. Take the honors section of this class, it is insanely easy and its just an extra 50 minutes a week. All you do is read one short play a week and discuss it in class after the regular class gets out on friday. Seriously, very easy A in an honors course, looks good on transcript
What an awesome prof. He's helpful, hilarious, and the classes are really entertaining. Go to class, take notes, and study and you will make an A. (But serisouly make sure you study) Great guy.
Best teacher at TCU. Loves his job, so funny. Get's everyone as excited about theater as possible. Makes class painless and great teacher.
extremely easy class. this guy is awesome and fun. he literally gives away As if u do the review sheets, play review and do extra credit stuff. anybody getting a B in this class is an idiot. just pay attention in class and u shud get an A.
I really liked the guy. He's interesting, funny just go to class and definitely take notes. Have to do good on tests, there are only a few grades for the semester. Class is pretty easy just a lot of note taking.
Who doesn't Like Dr. Walsh? He is great, take him.
Great class, easy A.
Good guy, good stories, great entertainer, easy A.
easy class, try to show up for most of them and there wont be a need to study before tests. funny guy, good stories, movies sometimes in class.
Easy class! Take for Fine Arts credit! Huge class so he will never know you personally. Takes attendance so go to class or have some1 sign you in. Class is pretty boring, you copy notes from overhead. Get test files from some1 in a frat/sor. Uses same tests every year.
Had him for Survey of Theatre, Acting 1, Directing, Theatre History I & II. Great teacher. If you get a chance to take one of his courses do it.
i have a tremendous amount of respect for this man
Dr. Walsh is AWESOME! I have never had a professor like him...He makes me love theatre more and more than i ever have. I can't even begin to express what an impact he has already made on me - and I've only been in his class for 4 weeks!
Wow! Dr. Walsh is an amaxing teacher! And honestly, this class is so easy and he makes Theatre history so intriguing and interesting! I caught myself actually talking about a lecture of his the other day. You will also be able to use this information that he teaches in the future. He is AWESOME!
OMG! Fascinating man! I could listen to him talk for hours! He's so helpful if you just approach him. He's very kind and enthusiastic and knows just what to say to guide you on the right track. His constructive criticism is very helpful!
Great teacher. Makes class fun and interesting. Research paper's kind of rough, 3 easy quizzes, 3 easy creative papers. Loves to go on tangents during lecture and doesn't care. Works with students' schedule. Read the text, its not that bad, and just go to class.
I have an interest in theatre but I'm not a major or a minor and I did fine! Just watch out for your points, and put some effort into it!! Easy A. Very interesting person, very easy to get along with, and yeah he does have a bit of an elitist streak but thats cuz he is good at what he does. Love this man. A hidden treasure at TCU. All hail Walsh!
Awesome!
Dr. Walsh is a very interesting man to listen too. His class is soooo easy. There are 3 test, plus a few movies here and there. The class consists of note taking and you almost always get out 25 min. early. I definately recommend this GPA boosting class. Plus, Walsh is fun to listen too and learn from. My favorite class this semester, and I'm a business major!
He's a good lecturer. Don't ever fall asleep, or he'll embarass you! I took him for Survey of Theater arts, and as long as you show up and take notes.. you'll get an A. The final is cumulative and he gives all your tests back! Easy A.
Great Class!!! Best class i have had yet. He is an interestign guy with alot of stories and always expect to be out of class at least 15 minutes early every class. He is just a lovable guy and reallyw ants you to succeed. His test are extremely easy and comprehensive. Ex the first test of course has all new stuff, the second test has 50% of the sam
Easiest class i've ever taken! I never studied and I never opened the book and I made an A+
Best fine arts credit available! Extra credit available.
Dr. Walsh is extremely interesting. So far he has shown Shakespeare In Love, and clips of Jesus Christ Superstar and Legend of Bagger of Vance. Don't ever fall asleep, but you shouldn't because it is pretty intersting. The class consists of note taking and lecturing. Take Walsh
Good teacher. Funny guy! Tells lots of stories and they are actually interesting! Take this class!
Good teacher...watched "Shakespeare in Love"...tells interesting stories and is funny. Honors...have to write a 2 page analysis each week over a play read and take an easy 5 question quiz.
Walsh is hilarious. I loved his class it was so much fun. Really easy A. Going to class helps b/c some examples end up on exams. this theatre class is for everyone! if you hate theatre chances are you'll like this class.
Great Prof! Must go to class because most of his examples end up on the tests. Tests get easier as the semester goes on because he puts some of the questions from past tests on future tests. You get to watch movies like Shakespeare in Love and Finding Neverland. His stories are really entertaining, too. And, you learn a lot about theater.
Easiest class I have EVER taken! Go to class, take notes, and study tests from previous semesters. The tests get easier because most of the questions are from previous tests that he hands back to you. I hardly studied for this class and walked away with an A.
Dr. Walsh is really funny, especially when he cracks himself up. He knows that people are just taking this class as a blow-off, and tries to keep the work at a bare-minimum. Basically, go to class and you're pretty much guarenteed an A. He cancels class a lot anyways, so just plan to attend.
He is a great story teller and his random storys are on the test so you need to attend class! You dont have to read the book to make an A.
Good teacher go to class its fun
Great teacher, made class bearable with stories and lectures. Fairly easy tests if you study a little bit. Best teacher I've had so far at TCU. Class is semi-important since some test questions come from what happened in class. Overall easy course and great prof.
He was seriously the best teacher i had all year. This class is a must take if you want an easy A and a fine arts credit. Also a great honors class to take! Very Easy! Always out early as well!
Very good teacher! He is such a nice guy and genuinely wants you to do well. He designed his class to make it nearly impossible for you to make anything lower than a B. Just take good notes in his lectures and you will breeze through this super fun class!
Took him for survey of theater. Easiest class I have taken! Takes attendance but allows 3 abscenses. Tests come straight from notes. Gives you back your old tests because alot of questions on the 2nd test come from the 1st test. Final is so easy because you already know half of the questions that will be on there. Walsh is a good teacher!
LOVED his intro class. Easiest A ever. Show up, take notes, and pass. He is really funny and just wants everyone to have a good time in his class. Honors with him is really easy as well! His tests are a piece of cake!
I took Walsh for survey of theater. Super easy class. Just copy down the notes he puts up on the board and you'll be fine. Try to find previous tests, they're very similar, but not identical. Easy A for sure.
I can't even describe how easy this class was. If you take notes every day in class, you will get a high A. Don't mistake "easy" for "you learn nothing." Plenty of interesting information...worth your time!
Nice guy with a fun attitude. He knows this class is required and makes it interesting and enjoyable. All he asks of students is to show up (After 3 absences, points are taken off) and pay attention (Will throw balls or do other things to students that are sleeping). Class is let out early almost every time. Tests are easy if you study.
Easiest class I've ever taken. TOok survey of theater with him for my fine arts credit. Two tests and the final. TAKE IT.
Probably the best professor I have had at TCU. He is funny, energetic, and nice. He wants you to like theatre, not just succeed in his class. If you do well on the tests, which you should if you show up to class and read the book, you'll do well on the test. He uses class time well and makes the paper and tests easy. Awesome class.
Dr. Walsh is an amazing professor and made Survey of Theatre both easy and interesting. If you go to class and pay attention, you will do well. Also, there is a paper you have to write on a play and a 30 point extra credit assignment. I thoroughly enjoyed the class. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK. I didn't even open it.
Loves the Theatre!! You can see his passion in class. Take notes and it will be an easy A.
Survey of Theatre with Dr. Walsh is must-take class for every student at TCU. The class is super easy and interesting - best fine arts credit by far. Walsh loves giving life advice to his students and is entertaining to listen to. There are two tests, a typed critique over a play, and a final. There is also an extra credit opportunity.
Great professor! Rounded me up to a B!
Go to most of the classes, he will count of for participation. Tests are easy if you study (on quizlet). Classes are entertaining for the most part and it is a really good fine arts credit for a non-arts major.
Professor Walsh is always entertaining in class. If you show up and pay attention you'll get a good grade in the class as long as you go over notes before tests. I would actually study for the tests. A lot of people think this class is so easy they don't have to study, but they end up getting a B in a class where they could easily get an A.
Prof Walsh is amazing! Easiest class I've taken at TCU but you must go to class, just take some notes and you'll be good to go. 3 tests but half the questions on each test come from the previous test which you get to keep! Final comes from all previous tests which he gives you so you have all the questions for the final :)
Walsh is one of the funniest teachers I've ever had. He knows this class is easy and that most people want to pass and he makes it very easy to do that. Tests are all multiple choice and true/false. You have to do one short paper and that's it. The only thing is if you're on your phone or falling asleep he will call you out. Great, easy fun class!
So funny and kind, comes off harsh just to scare you. Go to class & listen and you'll get an A. He gives all tests back so for the next test you have 30-50% of the right answers!
100% take take take!!! He is amazing and fun. He has an attendance policy but its pretty lenient. Only 3 exams and practically gives you the questions and answers and then a play critique. Offers extra credit but I didn't even end up doing it and still got an A.
This is probably one of the easiest classes to take at TCU. Professor Walsh is a nice guy and wants everyone to get A's. All of the tests are online and he even acknowledged this in class. Take him, you won't regret it!
Joke class so don't buy book. Teaches from his notes. 2 tests and final. Each exam contains questions from previous exam (around 40%). Hilarious guy who always wears fishing shirts. You do write a critique which I recommend working hard on. Calls you out if you leave early but he cuts class most of the time anyway. Take him. Also not a a+- class.
Easy money. Best class I have ever taken.
Great for survey. You can pass without going, but his lectures were entertaining to attend. 3 tests reuse questions from previous ones, only one paper and extra credit opportunity. Wonderfully knowledgeable and had a good time sitting next to my friend laughing at the tangents he went on. Definitely take for FAR credit, super easy.
Take Walsh for a fine arts credit. Survey was easy, but really interesting too. Each exam reuses questions from the previous ones, so you're guaranteed a good grade. Don't buy the textbook!
Greatest story-teller at TCU! Take him and you'll never regret! I don't know anything else to say honestly, he's just amazing!
He is one of the greatest professors at TCU. I just love him.
Dr. Walsh is a true legend of the TCU theatre department. He is very knowledgeable in what he speaks about during lectures. The class is catered to freshman students adjusting to college classes. Dr. Walsh's class is based heavily on lectures with occasional reflections, discussion posts, and exams. Highly recommend.
Survey if Theatre is a great class. Dr. Walsh is very friendly, funny, cares about his students, and tells amazing stories during his lectures. You are allowed a couple of free absences throughout the semester but going to his class is enjoyable. Even if you are not a theatre major or in the fine arts, this class is still very interesting.
TAKE THIS CLASS EASIEST A EVER
Walsh is so passionate about theatre and his passion leads you to want to do well in the class. He is understanding and it is obvious he cares about his students. He is a great storyteller and keeps class interesting and not too difficult. I would 100% recommend taking Walsh for theatre.
I took this class for a core credit and dont regret it one bit! Easiest A you will ever get. Walsh is super friendly and funny. His lectures are fun to attend. You get 3 free absences for the semester. Definitely recommend.
Dr. Walsh was by far one of the best professors I have had. I took his class for a core credit, and it is very manageable. His lectures are always full of stories and are entertaining, and he typically lets class out early. Work outside of class is very slim and he does not grade hard.
Professor Walsh is one of the best professors I've taken at TCU so far. He's understanding and you can tell that he really loves what he does. I genuinely loved going to his class and listening to his lectures. If you have the option to take him for anything, DO IT. You will not regret it.
Professor Walsh is very passionate about his teachings and is very knowledgeable of theater. Professor Walsh has many stories about the subject, which I found quite intriguing.
Easy A! Didn't pay attention in a single lesson but the tests are open note and open internet so it's nearly impossible to do poorly. You have to try to not get an A in the class. My friend wrote a journal on the wrong thing and still got a 90 on the assignment just for turning it in. His goal is to give all A's because that means he taught well.
Very easy class you won't have to stress about. But he does take attendance every day through a sign in sheet, and few minor assignments. Highly recommend!
Take Walsh for Theater; he is definitely the best. Very caring and respectful of students. You get three free absences so use them wisely. Few tests that are online open note, the rest is discussion posts which are extremely easy.
Dr Walsh is intelligent loves to show his passion for theater in his class, however the class itself is not super hard because of this. He makes an easy extra credit assignment at the beginning of the year which I highly recommend doing, but the tests and the reflection and discussions in the class are simple, however make sure to turn in on time
Professor Walsh is clearly so passionate about theatre which makes his class so interesting. There are few assignments, only a couple discussions and self-reflection journals. Super easy, just turn in on time! All exams are taken from home, and are open notes. You do only get 3 missed classes, and he has you sign in on a attendance sheet everyday.
Best professor for Survey of Theatre!! He offers a 20 point extra credit assignment. Throughout the entire semester, there is only 5 discussions and 5 small journals. All very easy. There are 3 exams and they are all take at home, open note. You do not have class on exam days. Attendance on regular class days is mandatory and he has a sign in sheet
Walsh is my favorite professor ever. He is so passionate about theatre and makes the class so engaging and interesting. The workload is very light and easy. he takes attendance through as sign up sheet.
Great teacher overall. If you need a fine arts credit, take this class. Show up and pay attention. He doesn't allow computers, but it really isn't that huge of a problem at all. The tests are online on your own time. Very chill class.
Take this class! Dr. Walsh is very passionate about what he is teaching and only hopes that he can inspire his students. There are discussions, short written assignments, and a few open note tests along the way. The classes can get long sometimes, but can also be interesting. Overall, an enjoyable class and a very easy A.
Vey fun teacher and he really cares about theatre. He is very understanding of students(survey of theatre students at least). Exams are all online including the final. He was great and if you need the credit take him!
TAKE HIM!!!! Easiest fine arts credit ever. All test are online and not on lockdown browser, there is one paper that you get the whole semester to do, monthly discussion posts that are basically a completion grade, and a monthly reflection submitted to him that is also a completion grade. Attendance is mandatory but his class is super interesting.
Professor Walsh brings infectious passion for theater to this easy A class. Tests are open-note, and unstuck study was a great study aid. Highly recommend for a fun, stress-free credit.
Write your name on name sheet for attendance but can have a friend write for you. Super easy class take it.
Such a good fine art credit! The class is super simple and basically is just listening to him lecture. You have 4 reflection journals and 4 discussions that are super simple. 3 take home exams and a written paper due at the end of the semester. He truly is a wonderful professor and really cares about what he is talking about.
I took this class online to fulfill a core credit and didn't expect much going in, but I ended up loving it!! Professor Walsh is respectful and loves what he teaches, which makes the course so enjoyable. Even though I'm not a theatre major, I found the material very engaging. I'd highly recommend this course to anyone!
