tests are pretty easy but doesn't lift his feet! kind of silly!
Boring but makes occasional jokes. He seemsto be in his own world

easy tests(just study hws), interesting lectures,
It's not a boring class..just do all HW and review it before test.
Very good teacher. Help me understand all the concepts of law
He is very nice and very understanding.
the worst
the exams are very hard!!!
exams not always graded fairly and be sure to do all the hw.
Not hard at all. Just do the HW's and you'll be fine. Nice and articulate.
Mixed feelings, look elsewhere for other professor
very nice and fair, study ur hws or ull be surprised!!
Seemed nice at first...but he turned out to be an unfair grader
No Comments
He's very helpful, and clear, just do the HW
Explains laws in a very detail matter! If you want to learn LAW take him!
this guy doesn't respect you, don't ask "stupid" questions....so he says
test are tricky
ugh, dont take him i hated the experience, take someone else like fox
he's a great professor. Def take him, you'll learn alot
Nice person but tests are not graded fairly; don't ask questions
very unclear..always has a story to tell and goes out of topic...

The hardest tests ypo've ever seen
Has an excellent understanding of legal studies...intelligent and articulate.
Never take him
tells good stories. just do hw. and read the chapters. all is goood
Tests are exactly like the HW, you don't even have to go to class- self sign in
horrible prof...DO NOT TAKE HIM!!
EVERYTHING IS A SPECIAL CASE WITH HIM! IF U WANT 2GET CONFUSED-HE'S UR MAN!
Dont take him he doesnt grade fair
Very hard tests, but if you study and know the laws, you'll be fine.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this teacher
makes it seem as if hw is very important but its not.
test have nothing to do with the book makes you do useless homework
IF HE'S A LAWYER I CAN BECOME PRESIDENT
DUDE! NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOUR 5 ACRE PROPERTY UPSTATE!
not bad, all you have to do is show up,and do the hw. the test are not that hard
I think it's kind of unfair to call him horrible . He seems to be not a tough guy, and his exams are not that hard. Besides, his lectures are usually interesting and helpful.

Not a bad guy, very easy tests, but really weird. Tells bull**** stories all the time, take this calss if you want a good grade but expect a sketchy semester.
He's not bad. The homework isn't important to your grade, but it does help. I liked the books and his stories were always amusing...kinda reminded me of an ambulance chaser/sleazy lawyer but in an amusing way. He definitely knows his stuff though.
Very unclear prof. if he dose not agree with the book he expects you to remember his justification for the question. Did not enjoy his class hw useless and he dose ant check it. Dont take him
Opt for Fox instead.
Disorganized. He was more interested in the students who were working in law enforcement (there were a couple in class) than in the rest of us.
Fox is a better option, even if he IS on a Friday.
DOES NOT LIKE QUESTIONS- I WONDER IF HE IS EVEN AN ATTORNEY BY SOME OF HIS ANSWERS
great, great guy...if you do the homework and somewhat pay attention in class then the tests are a breaze. helluva guy and real personable
He is not a terrible teacher, doesn't really check the hw and reviews for the exams which are not hard
The class wasn't too difficult. Goes over basically all that will be on tests prior to them.
Avoid if you can. Deserved an A and recieved a C. Was not helpful in any way. I wonder...Can he really be a lawyer???????
THE WORSTTTTTT< DROP IF YOU HAVE HIM!!!!!!!!!!
Deserved a B and he gave me a C. His class should be called Search & Seizure. This is all he teaches. If you don't have to take him don't.
Does not like questions, either because he can't answer them or does not want to be bothered
Awful man!! refuses to answer questions and will not admit that he is wrong. Does NOT think like an attorney...whatever you do, stay away..he will ruin your semester
He's not as bad as everyone is making him out to be. Just do your homework, pay attention and show him that you're trying. The midterm was easy but the final was hard. Type of teacher to curve if necessary.
He's alright. Your grade depends solely on your exam grades. Exams are fair and reflects what he has taught. If you pay attention in class it is impossible to get less than a C. With some effort a B and above is sure.
Awful professor, please STAY AWAY. Everything depends on the midterm and the final, he doesnt grade on anything else. So if you get a bad grade on one of them, you will end up with a C in the class, hes horrible and boring
Is not the best prof. in the world but he's alright. If you pay attention in class and go over the homework somewhat you are guaranteed at least a C without effort and a B with little. Do what you're supposed to do and you have an easy A.
Class is fully based on the midterm and Final exams. There is an extra credit paper that does help out a bit. The hw isn't very useful in the grading process. Do Not think this is an easy A class. You have to understand the principles completely.
he's a cool guy easy the test are very easy there is homework. He's class is a lot of fun he is abset a lot. He like to talk about drugs all the time it's fun. Take him
decent guy
Class is mainly about search and seziures. Not much excitement. Class based on midterm and final with an extra credi assignment he gives alot of homework. Do not really take attendance. He is ok.
Nice Professor, not very organized but a great person. do your work, come to class and you'll get a good grade.
He is a nice guy, but it is hard to learn from him. Your whole grade is depended on a midterm and a final. If you do bad on them, then your grade would suffer. He does gave extra credit but it is useless...8-10 pages for only 5 points...and it has to be good to get the points. Take someone else!
The good ratings are obviously by the professor himself. Grade based soley on two tests and the extra credit is crap. Stay away if you want an A.
this guy is the worst law prof. grade based solely on 2 freaken hard exams. doesnt give any real notes, you must use the book to teach yourself. oh yeah he gives and extra credit but its a huge paper and you get like nothing for it. stay away cause theres much better law profs
ALTHOUGH THIS PROFESSOR SEEMS NICE, HE IS INCAPABLE OF TEACHING. HE READS FROM THE BOOK AND YOU MUST TEACH YOURSELF. THE WORST PART OF THIS NONSENSE IS THAT YOUR GRADE IS BASED ONLY ON TWO EXAMS. THEREFORE, IF YOU ACHIEVE LESS THAN OUTSTANDING RESULTS ON THE MIDTERM, YOU'D BETTER TRY 10x HARDER. DESPITE THIS ALL, YOU MAY ACHIEVE ONLY A 'C'.
Ludicrously bad! grade is based on nothing, he says it the test..but you can do well on both and he will still give you a C. DO NOT TAKE HIM
Ugh, nice guy but boring and seems like he's just gives out C's. Had favorites in the class even though those girls were late all the time. Spoke to his favorites.
Only talks about nonsense. Uses drugs for every example. talks about weed and cocaine. only that and other stupid subjects. half the class failed the midterms. and he doesnt know if he wants to curve it" hes upset with thte class" TEACH SOMETHING!!
This guy is so boring. For a lawyer, he doesn't seem to know whats going on and talks about his sister all the time. Doesn't really explain things properly.
This professor is useless... he was extremely unclear and never focused on anything except drug laws. The subject matter discussed in class never made it onto the exams. His grading policy is also horrible - two very difficult exams determine your final grade. Avoid him at all costs... he shouldn't be allowed to teach.
the guy has an obsession with his sister. god, he talks about her all the time. he doesn't know anything- even i know more than him. he's always, always confused (!!!) -even when he's reading off the text. he'a always seeking confirmation- just nod your head and smile and say "right professor, right".
He is a really nice professor but his teaching method is totally useless.Ask you to do homework for a chapter before he even touch on it and sometimes gives you 1 days to complete. You can hand in your homework late though.Very helpful outside of class and test isnt too hard as long as you study.Lets you leave on time, never early.
unclear, lots of little anecdotes. read the chapters and study and you'll do fine. homework is huge and he basically spells out the exams
STAY AWAY!! seriously.. very very difficult... you'll regret taking him. Doesn't stick to what is suppose to be taught in class, but talks about drugs, his sister, his son, his nephew, etc. I ended up dropping the class. He also expects you to know not only NY State law, but also other states' law.
Not a good teacher to take...he expects you to make up decisions for cases that he gives you. Twelve scenarios and you have to pick ten, it's for both the final and the midterm. I got a C on the midterm bombed the final and ended up with a D, and that's considered lucky...He has a lot of knowledge, but he doesn't realize it's a 101 class.
he does not know how to teach the subject and he avoids the questions that he receives with his stupid family tales. always loves to show off or bluff that his rich with his property buying tales. he does not care for a student especially if you are from out of country and in honest words, he is a ****. very ignorant and a real a$$. SERIOUSLY.
this guy has no idea what hes doing...avoid at all cost
not as bad as ppl make him out to be if you listen to him and understand what he talks about his tests aren't that bad
yea he requires you to know other states law & all these other laws because its university requirements. Listen in class & do the homework can't do worse than a B to a B+ he isnt hard, nice guy.
Not a bad teacher. His lectures are long but he tries to keep them interesting. Best way to pass his class is to do hw & try to stay awake.
I feel this guy comes straight out the courtroom to the classroom. He isnt the most helpful. doesnt answer any ques during exam, and doesnt grade homework. He creates no extra work for himself and just grades the midterm and final. he really couldn't care less about teaching. I say if you take him cool but there are more helpful profs than him.
Smart, experienced professor. Will answer any personal law questions, and give just useful tips. Days before test, loves to review and give practice questions and go over any possible question you could have. Do the homeworks so you do well on tests, yet he won't grade them. Easy to get good grades on final and midterm if you do the work he gives.
Horrible grading scale. He bases you final grade on simply 2 tests, the midterm and final.. Makes you do homework, even though it has no affect on your grade. Dont take him if you want a decent grade...
He bases your grade on only 2 exams and has hw that he doesn't grade. His exams are very hard. He wants very specific answer. His class was actually great but after realizing there was no way of getting a good grade it was different. try to avoid him if you care about your GPA. if you can make it pass or fail... go ahead you'll like him.
Interesting class, Professor was well prepared and answered questions clearly. Read the book and you should do well. Don't miss classes and participate, read the book, do the hw and you'll get an A.
Overall a pretty good professor. Clearly explains the goals of the course and then follows through. The material is not hard if your read the book and attend classes regularly. The exams are reasonable and sometimes probably easier than they should be given that its a topic tested on the CPA. Would definitely recommend his class to others though. Y
If you actually want to learn something, take his class. If you just want to breeze by on BS then opt out. Overall, he is a good professor. Clearly states the goals of the course and follows through. The exams are reasonable for graduate level courses and at times even slightly easier than they probably should be given that this topic is tested on
Teaching from actual experience with a long career as a lawyer. Often uses his cases as examples. Really holds your attention. Offers simpler explanations than the book. What he says as well as what's in the book is on exams. Attendance & note taking are important if you want an A.
Hope he is good, my score for him so far.
Endless homework that counts for nothing, he just reads from his powerpoints,... Class was somewhat interesting as he uses his own cases. Tests go from easy to impossible!
He's a really nice guy. Gives you 3 tests which are easy if you study for them. NEVER CUMLATIVE. You have 12 homeworks that take about 30 minutes to do. He doesnt look them over but if you do them ALL by the day they are due he gives you 5 points added to your overall gpa. Go to class, he's very understanding and funny and wants everyone to succedd
Great professor. Got an A but had to work and study for it. Hes extremely knowledgeable in his field but if your looking for an easy A hes not the guy. Gives hw every week. I personally was not interested much in law so i had a bit of a hard time. Non cumulative exams is a plus. Test can be a bit hard.
Experienced and humorous, Barnet teaches with PPT and assign homework every week. His voice can be a little soft and thus unable to control the class. I would recommend anyone to take his class.
I am certain that there are better professors than this. He speaks very very low and just often reads off the PTT. He assings a ton of weekly homework off the textbook that only count for five points in final grade, Makes his test super hard and hardly ever reviews. AVOID TAKING HIM.
He's a very low speaking teacher, tests are multiple choice and true/false. Gives homework every class. Looks like George Bush and his extremely boring to listen to. Other than that, bring laptop for leisure and easy A if you hand in work, curves each test!
Barnet is a good professor. Just pay attention and show up and you will definitely get an A. he has a lot of experience and he tells a lot of relevant stories
Avoid this guy. He should not be teaching.
Really fantastic professor. Highly educated and well experienced. Voice is a bit boring, and moves quickly but the book is your best friend, and will clarify it all. Show up, bring your laptop and read the chapters before the test. you'll get an A.
This guy should stay home. He is like a zombie, half dead. He makes students read the text in the class because he gets tired if he reads a lot. This class could be a lot interesting.
Horrible, boring, not helpful, dry and dreadful
I absolutely love this professor!!! The material flows together. If you read the chapters and do the homework you will understand the tests perfectly. He really is a talented lawyer and I am so glad I had the pleasure of being in his class. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
The book is your best friend, so is the homework. If you read and do the homework you should end up with a B. Second exam was very tricky, but the first and last were a breeze. Pay attention to examples he gives in class there often on the tests.
The book is your best friend. Do the homework for your own benefit but as long as you turn something in each week than you'll get the extra credit at the end of the semester that will boost your grade. The tests can be tricky so listen for what he says will be on the test but you'll mainly have to study on your own.
This professor was my favorite all semester. Very kind and considerate. Some people here have complained that his voice is not loud enough but he uses a portable PA system now so it is not a problem. HW is reasonable as are the midterm and final. A joy to listen to his lectures and stories. Highly recommend his class.
He is a great professor. Had 2 exams and written homework-due weekly . He speaks very quite, so seat in-front of the class if you want to learn something. During his lecture he follows the textbook and supplies examples and funny stories from his experience. Exams are fairly easy if you do the homework, short essays, similar to homework problems.
A little quiet but has a microphone now. Pretty funny. He explains everything very well but it is easy to lose track of what he is talking about because he has a very subtle voice. He has a lot of on hand experience and real world experiences. He is easy, relaxed, and doesn't require too much of his students. One of the better law professors.
Great guy. Open to criticism and has so much real world experience
Hard to understand. Not a good explainer. Don't have patience.
