We spent a lot of time debating the essence of a pen. Yes,a f*!#ing pen. Take art history, film or something else. One hour 3 days a week of a semester of my life are gone...gone, I want it back. This class would be easy if he wasnt teaching so much nonsense.

He is not very clear as to what he expects on his tests. He said that he would "accept anywhere from a sentence-long definition or a short paragraph to define terms." Then he decides after the test that sentence-long definitions are acceptable........for 1/4 of a point. Thank you Bates.

Doesn't have any real structure for this class. It is very difficult to understand him when he discusses material because he does not follow the readings he assigns. Goes of on tangents not related to material quite often. Lacks clear expectations for assigned work. Gives A's for everything.
