I would take another one of his classes. All he asks of you is to show up to class and give mild participation. The papers he assigns are not hard, and the book really helps because the topics are right from it. He makes it really easy to participate because he truly listens and cares about what you have to say. I would recommend him to anyone!

He's a really good teacher. He really cares about the students and what they have to say. the papers and work in general are really easy. Just show up to class and you'll be good. He does give pop quizes on the reading if you don't show. I would def. take him again!

Mr. Dodson is a great prof. He gets so excited when the class pays attention and knows what they are talking about, he grades easy as long as you show up for class and show that you know the work. I took him two semesters in a row, got an A in the first one, probably a B in the second. Hes a good prof bc he knows and cares about what hes teaching.

Awesome prof. Genuinely cares about how each student does. Works individually with everybody to make sure they get the best grade possible. As long as you show up to class, have a general idea of the readings he assigns, and do your papers you will do fine. he's awesome.

Prof. Dodson is an AWESOME prof. I had him my first semester as a freshman and i got an easy A in the class. He's very cute and has an endearing little stutter =]. It's nothing major, and he's very easy to understand. If you show up to class and do the papers, youll do fine. The readings aren't mandatory. I'd say skim it right before class.

I LOVE DODSON! He's such a cutie pie and is willing to go out of his way for everyone! He gets so excited when someone answers a questions correct he asks. You get a total of 5 papers to write, about 4 pages long each, but he helps you a lot along the way in class, during office hours and even on his own time. TAKE HIM IF YA CAN :)

Mr. Dodson is an excellent professor. He is passionate with literature and truly shows it in his lectures. The lectures were never dull. Mr. Dodson is amazing. He knows that we are all not great at english. When most lit teachers gave 500 page books we read short stories. He always takes attendence so be there. He will help you with anything. Always make sure you go over the material before the test. Make sure you know who wrote the book and evrything.he always tells u whats on it.

Dodson is the man. Passionate about writing, and it rubs off. I ended up being one of his favorite students with my writing and ended the year with almost all perfect papers. You need to dedicate the time and some serious effort as he won't accept garbage, You use the book like 5 times, so just say you forgot it each time, share,and save the $50.

Dodson is one of my favorite English professors at Kutztown. He is so smart and really cares about his students. He tries his best to make sure you know the material and pushes the class to accepts that leaning gets messy sometimes. He gives great feedback on papers and pushes you to do your best.

He is a great teacher. he makes sure you know what you are doing before you turn in any papers. if you take his English 22 class English 23 is exactly the same you also use the same text book for both

If you're taking his grammar class, it's either going to be really rough or really easy depending on how much you already know about grammar. If you can't already tell an adjective from an adverb, you're going to have a bad time. If you pass this class, you will have a VERY deep understanding of how grammar works. Tests make up 80% of the grade.

Dodson is adorable. You can tell he truly is passionate about creative writing and he gives awesome feedback to everyone! The class is centered around writing a short story, 3 poems, and a play (the final, which was graded easy). Get ready to participate & write a lot, but please take him! He's tied as my favorite prof at KU.

He is so passionate about teaching, and about literature and it really shows. He is a sucker for analyzing how form is related to content and its honestly adorable. Also he's a SNACC, never fell asleep in his class!

Professor Dodson is a great teacher for composition. Hes very helpful in telling you how to improve your writing to get the best grade possible. He does use the book a lot, but he gives copies of the excepts he uses so you can get away with not buying it.

I love Prof. Dodson! For my class we had to write 4 papers, however, they weren't very long. He said he emphasizes quality over quantity which I believe is very important. Each paper built upon the skills of the last, and you learn a lot with all the peer editing done in class. I highly recommend this Professor!

He is a pretty easy grader and we had a lot of in class discussions that really helped me improve my writing. Very kind and one of my favorite professors so far.

Dr. Dodson is the only Prof who can make grammar exciting for an entire class. He is always so energized and happy to teach which always makes the class so fun. It is a lot of material and it can be very hard but he is so nice about helping. There is no grade for attendance but showing up matters! Make sure to attend the review they are really fun!

Professor Dodson is awesome! I was worried because I was homeschooled and hadn't ever written an essay before taking his course, but his expectations were well explained and he gave great tips. I got an an A. He's always willing to help you if you have any questions about your writing. Talk in class as it counts towards a participation grade!

He truly cares about his students and will also work with them in and outside of the classroom. I enjoyed this class, but Dodson sometimes focuses more on his opinion than our interpretations of the works. I would like to see this class integrate more in-class activities for the novels we read since that is what we'll be doing in our classrooms.

Dr. Dodson comes off as intense but is a softie deep down. If you show that you care and participate in the workshops, you will do great. Make use of his office hours. His flash fiction class was so much fun! You had to read other people's work as well as some assignments and write your own flash piece almost every week. Participation was highly encouraged and he would sometimes call on you, but only if you never participated. Grades pretty good and was a friendly person!

Favorite professor!! If you have the option to take him-- do it. Throughout the semester there is four essays and after the first one, it becomes your choice on what you write about. You do get an oral communication grade but he makes it so easy and comfortable to talk in the class. Gives praise and there is no wrong answer during discussion.
